    EWB,

Thank you for the tip on the Gap, there is actually a Gap outlet at the mall that is just right close to where l live.  l will check there, l never even thought of going there.  Someone else told me that Ann Taylor, has curvy fit, and there is one of those at the mall too.  l will just have to make myself go try things on.  l don't have much energy these days so it might have to wait a little while.

I love shoes too!  And earrings, have been a big attraction lately.  I guess the shopping is a little bit therapeutic, and as long as I don't go into debt I just need to give in at times.

    Enjoy your new shoes!

    Susan

had my total knee replacement one week ago.  OW! not exactly racing through recovery as usual.  Shoes are off my list cause my whole leg and foot are very swollen and if I end up with a thigh this size permanently, I just will cry.  Alos never had a poo poo problem but am experiencing that for the first time also.  As with anything this too shall pass.  Just pass on good shopping web sites so I can still have my beloved shopping trips via the web.  I am sure this will help my pain.  This is my first day into the land of the normal today and happy to be back.

I just found a cool web site called modcloth.com.  Very pretty, and fun vintagesque(okay probably not a real word but you know what I mean) types of clothes and cute household items.  I hope you make a speedy recovery, and enjoy cyber shopping as much as you can!

    Hugs,

    Susan

what a fun site!  found  a lot of really cute, unique things.  I have to go back and spend more time but with just a quick spin, think I found a couple of can't live without  Thank you DenverDiva.  I always have a lot of fun looking at Overstock, Amazon and the shoe king Zappos also.  Still a bit bummeed about this slow to snap back stuff.  My providers all said this would be easy since I was so young and this was related to trauma instead of wearout aging.  I am thinking that all my firends who are seniors I have much more admiration since all our grandparents seemed to sail thorough their recovery.  Still have to buck up and work harder.

Hey gracejon, I'm glad you like that site.  I love the names of all of the stuff.  I have been shopping a couple of times and found some pants that fit, yay!  I also found two pairs of shoes, one dark pink suede with a little ruffle on the toe, ballet flats, and one black, kitten heel, with a pointy toe.  I also indulged in a new Brighton bracelet, it was my reward for finishing chemo.  I do need to stop my retail therapy now though.  Hope you are all having fun!

Oh, Susan, I love ModCloth.com!  I discovered it last year and have bought some really fun things from them.  Including shoes.  You can catch some good sales.

Fun site, Tina.  Here's another I found through the ModCloth.com blog:

Yay, Dotti!  You must feel wonderful.

Myself, I am beyond stuffed.  Two full helpings at the buffet are definitely NOT helping my butt.

    Well, there's always tomorrow.

Now, we get to kick-start the holiday season.  Through all the rush and shopping and baking and card-writing, savor the season.  Love to you all.

Sweetie, you wouldn't be if you knew my size!  But thanks for the message. Besides, it took back surgery to loose it.  LOL, I don't recommend the "diet".  LOL

Hey Beth - re your thread starting post, re "I want to hear about body shapers, what you're all doing to make your ass look smaller in jeans, and how you really feel about the muffin top" I think you should also include all those people who are trying to make their asses look bigger in jeans Cool

    Cheers and cherries - Ed

Have been shopping mainly in my closet as getting buff from working out with weights and crunches.  So combining stuff in new ways to showcase waistline and toned body.  For example, wearing pencil of suit where jacket is now too large for me.

No reason not to look fab just because I am on chemo.  Rocking a couple of fun wigs under hats, right now helmet liner as headed out cycling.

Just got a couple of other items: a vintage shawl I found while doing some resale Christmas shopping and a leopard top I found on ebay.

I ditched the idea of a "head covering" for sleeping and am wearing a vintage fur-trimmed scarf that belonged to the grandmother of one of my close friends.  Just tie it around everything and curl up to the fur which reminds me of my former long hair (which I donated).

My own take is that this time is forcing me to try out edgy, fun looks including ones I would not have done otherwise.  Will do a serious closet edit when past this phase and know where it all takes me.

I found some great sling back espadrills at Tuesday Morning--$20.  They are wedges and several tones of brown.  Love espadrilles.  Having to break these in a bit---I do that with hot water (as in drink from my shoe, lol) and let them soak and then wear them around the house to streach to my feet.

Also found a yellow and blue buffalo plad shirt to wear over my t-shirts this winter.  Haven't been shopping since way before the back stuff and actually made it most of the day -- with lots of breaks.

I got a lovely Christmas red wool lined jacket with flowers embroidered down the front last year for Christmas and since I have been having more hot flashes the turtleneck tops I got last year to match make me too hot, I found a beautiful royal blue knit 3/4 sleeve top to wear under it at Ross. Usually when I go to Ross I don't find anything, but I went with my Sister Saturday when she was looking for a winter coat, she didn't find a coat but I found the top. It  is a good outfit to wear on these crisp mornings (32 and foggy) to wear into the office.

I found a use for the silver I've polished for years and it sat in the china cabinet: put the tiny $1 poinsettas in the sugar, gravey, creamer, baby cups, etc.  You all probably already know about it, but I think it's a great idea!  Have them scattered over the house and they are little gems of suprise color.  Love them beside the bathroom sinks or in a grouping of candles.  and the price is right!  More bang for the buck.

    Didn't know where to put this: but you have all been listening to me moan about the back surgery, SO;

I have streached enough and can now bend enough that, after three Months, I finally shaved my legs today!!!   Wonder if I'll swim any faster?  LOL

I posted this question elsewhere but no-one replied - it's a bit hard to catch the attention of the few people who may have an answer :) Nicole on another website forum asked "Anyone out there have an online resource for PICC and TPN accessories?" No-one answered her question there, and I wondered if anyone here might know of one or have a favorite site ?

The FASHION thread - great idea BethNY - glad to see the thread is so popular !

    Cheers - Ed.

Just so you know you are being read, Ed, I wanted to let you know that I have no info re: PICC or TPN and perhaps the others didn't either.  Sorry

My best therapy is retail.  I am so so sick of winter(I suspect their are many of me out there  particularly east of the Mississippi) and am looking to shop for fun summer clothes.  Anybody start the spring fling?

I met a gal I had gone to nsg. school with and have not seen since 1963 over the weekend.  Have been up for almost 2 days talking.  Snacking, a few drinks, and talking and showing pics and telling our lives -- we wrote a few years, but lost each other.

Anyway, we had retail therapy!  (me with my crip cane) Made it to TJMaxx, but unfortunately after a huge lunch, so only shopping for the home---only try on clothes After lunch!  I found some neat Easter wreaths and a few things to spruce up my home.  Biggest was a stop at Lowe's to find house or low light plants on sale.(50cents to 2.00!!!!)  Have several new ones in my old decorative pots around the house for something green and real and fresh!
