I'd say return it! It SAYS no wire, it doesn't say no underwire. They have to learn, and if no one rubs their nose in it, they'll continue to do crap like that.....ehehhehehehe
-
That's what irks me. It says "wireless" right on the bra. I guess that I will return it. I really should write a nasty letter of complaint.
Thanks empathizing with me. The worst part is that it fits perfectly.
-
Okay, ladies - just found out for the Dream Ball thing next week, I am also going to interviewed for THE TODAY SHOW!! Help! What do I wear for TV? They are going to follow me around as I get my makeover and the ball, and I will also be doing tv / radio interviews for 3 hours that morning.
-
Oh my god, chelev!! Well, solid colors look better on TV. I'd say a nice pair of trousers & a flattering top. Simple, but comfortable & tasteful. Good luck! This is amazing!
-
Wow Michele!! That is just terrific!! How exciting. Are you going to be in the studio or are they going to interview you as you get ready? I agree with Kathi - wear something solid: dress, skirt and blouse, trousers and blouse.
Oh, I also wanted to comment on the navy dress! I love navy and silver together. You will look fabulous.
I would definitely return the bra.
Heading to Ann Taylor today to pick up a few items for winter. I'll let you know how I do.

That's what I was thinking - a really flattering simple top, in a solid color and black slacks, maybe a cardigan and blouse - looking online for a couple of options.
-
Oh, wowie! What exciting news! You WILL let us know when it will be broadcast, won't you? We must see it!
On camera: NO prints, nothing distracting, as if I know what I'm talking about. LOL No crazy jewelry. No showing any cleavage; it looks trampy on TV. (Think The View. Think inappropriate news anchor.) YOU will look fabulous, I know.
Now, I need advice. I bought those really terrific booties last week. I love them but want to know how to protect and clean them. They are leather, but antique bronze, so they have some shimmer. Should I use something on them before I wear them to help keep them new-looking? I plan on wearing them on Friday of this week!
-
Thanks! Just splurged on a beautiful blouse in a cranberry color with some detail on the front, but boatneck cut, short sleeves, from Anthropologie, to wear with black slacks and a cardigan, if needed. Thinking of keeping it streamlined, stylish and nothing garish or tacky.
I don't know about leather treatment - I usually don't treat leather but have treated suede with spray prior to wearing.
-
I LOVE Anthropologie but I find their prices a bit scary......
Michelle, your new "do" looks sooooo cute! Looks lighter than your other photo. Which is the real you color?
-
I know, they are really expensive - but I figured how often do I get on tv??
My natural hair color is darker - like in my old photo - this is one of the problems I'm hoping Joseph Mullen, Rachelbc's hair colorist, will be able to fix- it gets very muddy and oxidizes really badly. I like it rich and dark and it won't "stick" yet. I'm just glad I don't have too many visible bald spots!
-
chelev,
I am so excited for you! Your dress sounds dreamy... I hope the day will be memorable and you are treated like a princess. You deserve it!!
-
Chelev, what excitement! Something to look forward to; and remember after. Way to go!
I bought two new pairs of black slacks on the weekend. I wear a lot of black or brown. No navy or gray. These are 2 sizes smaller than last year! I gotta tell you, I have a great ass! May not have the boobs but the ass is in gear. I done good!
-
WooHoo, barbe! Shake that bootie! 2 whole sizes! You have been a very, very good girl.
Edited to add that I may be scarce around here as I'm going into my busy season plus will be going away on a couple of trips. (That's why I was trying to get the recon done asap.) So, don't wonder where the heck I am as I am SOMEWHERE. You can always find me at my hotmail address. xox
We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when..........
-
Barbe - Whoo - you go! Back that thang up. Great job. I do squats for my bootie, as I feel the same. No boobies, might as well try to have a good a$$.
Tiinnnaaa ("whiney voice") - How long will you be gone? Will miss you like crazy. Not sure about leather protection either - like Michele, I only treat suede with a spray from Aldo.
I bought some items from Ann Taylor yesterday. Unfortunately, I will have to post the links, as you cannot copy and paste pic from their web site. I might take the skirt back with the ruffle down the front side (which is not on the website; they must have taken it off).
This skirt, which I love (bear in mind, these clothes are well made and do last).
This skirt, but not in petite.
-
oh here is the ruffle skirt that I might return. Apparently, I was on the petite area of the webpage.
-
Ladies - I need your help. Where can I find high heeled pumps (approximately 4") with a platform that are comfortable (this may be an oxymoron) and are not that expensive? No t straps, just simple pumps with a high sturdy heel and platform.
-
good luck on the shoes
-
LOVE both skirts!
Believe it or not, I just got a pair of shoes in WalMart for $19!! I desperately need a med heel and wore them yesterday and they were great! I know they won't last forever, but hey...
What you do wear with skirts? I look butch when I wear a blouse tucked in. I need something soft and flowy that doesn't cover my (great) ass. There is a new style with gathered waist that looks really good on me, but there aren't a lot of different patterns. I need patterns to cover the no-boobie zone....
-
Barbe, I agree - you need to show off that great a$$. With skirts, I typically wear a sweater in the winter (today I have on a short flutterly sleeved black sweater with my black skirt) and I tuck the sweaters in or I leave them untucked and wear a small belt around my waist. Sometimes I will wear a blouse (mostly in the summer) either tucked in or out with a small belt - but Barbe, I wear my forms when I go to work, where you don't. Maybe a sweater with the design in the front or a draping cowl-neck type of sweater that you've mentioned in the past with your skirts? Also, those shirts and sweaters with ruffles in the front are in. They don't have to be the overpowering ruffles, many styles just have a bit of ruffle. That might work for you.
I found the shoe last night at DSW. Have them on at work today, pretty comfortable actually.
Here is the link:
-
Here are the shoes.
-
Wow, Raye - super cute!!!! And they are comfortable? That's always my issue with a higher heel is that by the end or sometimes the middle of the day, my foot is in agony. These are gorgeous!!!
-
Love the shoes, Raye. Are they dark blue? Love blue shoes.
Just a quick hug to you all. I can at least say with some confidence that eventually, I think the Provigil will help me climb out of the fatigue pit, but it's gonna be a long, slow climb. Tough day today, I collapsed & fell asleep as soon as I came home from work. Now I have to finish laptop documentation.
Michele, I love to wear cranberry. You look adorable. Great cheekbones! You're going to look incredible when they get done with you!
Barbe, an ass is a wonderful thing to lose, isn't it?? At least the 'extra,' that is. You looked absolutely gorgeous in those wedding photos of you I saw recently. If you get any prettier, you'll put us all to shame!
Tina, hug those bunnies for me, okay? Just wave from afar once in a while.
Dottie, how are you? Did you have your surgery yet? Is it next week? Hugs.
-
Yep, surgery a week from tomorrow and back home a week or so later, if all goes as it very well should.
DH will be living in a hotel for the 10 days we are there and then cracking the whip with me to make me walk when I get discharged and we hang at the hotel for a couple of days to assure all is well before we hit the road. However there IS a mall close by -- maybe I can window shop??LOL
-
Now Kathi, as a fellow photographer, you know that without a grayscale adjustment, most black will come out lighter as the camera over-compensates....
Good luck next week Dotti if I don't catch you somewhere else!
-
Kathi, thank you! I did get the blouse yesterday and it is going back, unfortunately. Sometimes especially with Anthropologie, because they use a lot of European manufacturers, the clothing is ill fitting or weirdly sized. I ordered a 10 because I wanted to make sure I had some room, and boy did I ever! Plus, it was hard to really see how sheer the blouse is . . . but under tv lights, oh, hello, look at my bra! So, back to the drawing board. My daughter and her friend are coming over tomorrow to help me narrow down some choices from what's in my closet, which probably has a few things that will work. Color on the blouse was amazing - I will need to see what else I can find in that shade.
Dotti, well, retail excercise counts!! Even if you can't reach in and out of your purse for your wallet, walking slowly past the stores and flexing your oooh aaaah muscles are good!
-
Barbe - what wedding pictures?!?! I want to see them. How is that great ass of your's today?
Kathi - I am sorry that you are still feeling fatigued and I hope your medicine starts working pronto!
Dotti - Will be thinking of you next Friday!!! And yes, I think window shopping sounds like wonderful physical therapy.
Michele - SO exciting!!! You must be thrilled. How can you concentrate on your everyday stuff?? I notice that a lot of blouses are sheer these days. They say in the ads "pair with a cami." Well, that does not always do the trick for coverage.
Report on the shoes above. They are black and while they are comfortable if you have to walk say to the bathroom or kitchen at work, they are fine. I also did some shopping at lunch yesterday and they were fine. I feel comfortable in them, but are they comfortable shoes? Not really, not horrible, but not comfy where I could run in them like I can my wedge sandles. Michele - with you on your feet a lot during the day, I feel you would find them very uncomfortable.
OK ladies, Have a great weekend if we don't talk before then.
-
Barbe, LOL. Took me a while to figure out what you were talking about!! That's another thing with the fatigue that I REALLY hate - my brain is just not working as well as it used to. And it's not from chemo, because I didn't have chemo. It's Cancer Fatigue Brain!
Raye, I got some really cute dark gray fake alligator shoes like that, except no strap. Well, we don't wear high heels for a road race, ya know?? Like Beth once described, I have shoes for looks, shoes for hardly any walking, shoes for a little but not a lot of walking, and shoes for real mileage! The heels in each category start high & get shorter as the mileage goes up. LOL
-
Now, I never said I was going away entirely, just would be visiting less frequently. Of course, i'ts always nice to think you will be missed.
Now, I wore my new shortie bronze metallic Born heeled booties yesterday with jeans and a stretchy v-neck top and dubbed it my slightly slutty look. Not bad.
Michelle, that's a disappointment on the blouse. Have you looked at J.Crew?
Dotti, I will be thinking of you next Friday. Good luck and I hope this $hitcans the pain for good.
-
Hello ladies - I expect you have already thought of hair extensions, but I have only just thought about them (there was an article this week in The Dail Mail, a British national newspaper) and I thought I would just share with you the internet details in case of use.
http://racooninternational.com/hairinrecovery/index.html
Myssel and a couple of other girls in the UK are wondering what the hell to do about eyebrow loss. Here, it is expensive to get the tattoos and I thought they looked quite poor. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
I hope you all have a terrific weekend -
xxxxxx
-
Virginia - have you looked at the kits that Anastasia has? They have templates to help you put your brow on, in different brow shapes, and have powder and pencil with them as well. If you have Sephora nearby, or maybe look online. I don't know if maybe Marks & Spencer or Boots has something similar? (I'm an Anglophile - I've been to the UK many times for work and vacation and have a best friend since 1975 up in Lancs). That might help - it worked well for me to determine the shape and get them the most realistic.
