Inquiring minds want to know...and see, Mum.
-
My daughter talked me into this pale green italian gown with lots of beading.Have to get a special bra for my foobies but I found a ladyhere who will sew pockets into a regular bra for me.My daughter loves it if I had been on my own I would not of bought anything in that shop. Its a bit high end for me.I realized later that this shop has sold the wedding party 6 gowns. My daughter should of insisted on some kind of discount.
-
Sounds lovely, and can't wait to see it.
-
I can picture it Mum! I'm sure I tried on something like that but it was too formal for the beach. Made me feel like a Soprano cast member!!
My dress had no straps so I just had them tighten up the sides and the boning gave a soft curve. No one said OMG YOU DON'T HAVE BREASTS!!! Or at least I didn't hear them!!

Mom flying home to Florida as we speak..amazing what that 91 year old can do...
-
Your Mom IS amazing! I have an aunt who is 98 who lives alone in a condo in downtown Toronto and does her own banking and shopping every day. Blows my mind!!! This aunt still flies too.. what an inspiration they are!! (or does it just depress me that they can do more than me???
) I'll get back to you on that....
-
Thanks all for the welcome back such beuatiful views of flowers, beaches and friends. My Mom is great but at 79 won't go anywher anymore you are very fortunate to have your Mom so active Lisa! We really enjoyed our stay on the island. Shawn was not feeling well ont he way home and came home with an inner ear infection and then the basement flooded the day before we got home so are still working on getting all dry and clean, oh well the 10 day vacation was paradise and reality won't spoil it! I like trip advisor we found some good suggestions and a great new Botanical Garden that is doing tours but not technically open yet.
-
Did the beach get closed down due to high surf?
-
I think we are just speechless and awestruck by Lisa's mom and Barbe's aunt.
I want to be living large like Lisa's mom when I get there. She's a jetsetter! Continental traveler, dating at 91, wow!
-
Mom is home...she is a brave soul..
-
Brave and amazing. Do you know what kind of flowers those are, Lisa? I loved your daisies the other day.
-
Lovely contrast between the Dianthus and the Petunias. The purple almost glows.
-
glad Meece knows what they are
-
Just some of them.
-
I like their fringes.
-
They are from the carnation family.
-
So about an hour ago, my DH called me to the backyard to look at a family of deer. I almost always miss them by the time I go take a look, but this time I grabbed the camera, and we both took pics. My DH started to slowly walk toward them, and they were taking off, when my little dog Pablo ran up to look at them. Do you know a few of them actually turned around and approached our dog? I think they must have thought he looked like a tiny fawn or something. They were completely curious.
I'll get the pics unloaded to share.
-
Can't wait to see them.
-
For those of who needed a water fix!
-
I was desperate.
Thanks chrissy
-
Thanks, Crissy.
-
Thanks Chrissy, Those are beautiful. Candy for the eyes!
-
Beautiful, Chrissy, as always. I wonder what make the color variance in the water of your last shot. Is that a reef?
Here you go, fresh off the press, from my home to yours.
The last one is of a deer looking at my dog.
You never know what unexpected blessing the day may bring.
-
Those are great! Thank you for sharing.
-
Thanks! I'm always happy to.
Lisa, where did you take your mom sightseeing around SD?
-
Miss Bianca, the color varience in the pic is caused by the angle of where I took the pic and the angle of the late afternoon early evening light. It almost looked like milk glass the water was so still. I was standing on a cliff edge looking down at the spit and the tide was out so the water was quite shallow.
This one was taken on the same day, just after the other but I turned facing into the light more and so the water relection was quite strong.
-
The light reflection gives that shot a really cool effect.
-
The pics of the deer are just wonderful! It must be nice to have such wildlife so close to where you live. Thanks for sharing.
-
I've lived this part of town now for about 6 months, and have never lived this close to wildlife. It has been beautiful, a bit lonely, but peaceful. Well, except for the snake that paid us a visit in our bathroom. That was just scary. We are planning on moving soon, for a new school program for my son.
-
Where I used to live, I often had snakes come inside looking for a bit of cool or water but so far, I haven't had a visit from them since I'vr been in the place where I now live. The only visitors I have are many spiders, but they are okay and I'd rather pick a fight with a spider and I know I'm much bigger than they are and I usually win.....lol How old is your son? if you don't mind me asking?
