-
Tink - Week was just crazy - our residents are starting to head back to the north so this is expected this time of year.
I am already in my pjs.
-
Some bagna cauda to go with the pizza.
-
And for dessert
-
Ladies I miss you all.
I got all my blood work back and no thyroid problems, not pregnant everything looks great according to Doc and I am still having stomach issues, so now she will do and ultra sound and we shall take it from there......I hate waiting, this stinks!
Jo dinner looks fantastic but I really could use some cocktails maybe some giggle juice which would be a frozen mudslide..... fattening but oh so yummy!!! Where is the train off to tonight?
Chabba that looks great.....
I love all the stories of the husbands sleeping.....how is it they can seriously fall asleep and breath heavy and snore within seconds??? I guess I am jealous....ha ha
-
Jo I'll take the ice cream, yummy
I love when the DH's sleep like a log and then say they did not sleep well. What?
Doing a few little chores around the house this evening, was pretty lazy this wk.
June never had a mudslide but sounds yummy. -
June, hope you are feeling better soon. You are in my prayers.
Hope everyone has a GREAT WEEKEND!
Harley

Have any of you tried to diagnose yourself? The stomach issues I am having are like a constant gnawing achy feeling....also bloated. I feel like I have to eat and when I do it is worse.....really strange......so I start researching and I am coming up with Gallbladder problems and a link with Tamox. Has anyone heard of this?
I thank you Harley and I could use the prayers.....ha ha
-
JUNE I am sorry your not feeling any better yet I have not heard of that but worth mentioning to the doc....((( hugs to you my friend!!!! )))))
I love the giggle juice sounds good to me...
Chabba love the added treats
JO...OMG!!!!!! that about sums it up... looking gooooodddddd!!!!
remember who falls asleep first gets clown lips... it does happen
-
June - I hope this is what you are wanting. Drink up and be happy.
I took all the calories out - LOL
-
June....check out the gallbladder diet. my boss did it, lost 20 pounds and felt soooo much better...essentially. cutting out fats etc...made a difference for him. Hope you feel better
-
June - I have to ask if part of the stomach issues is nausea? Are you taking a split dose or the whole dose at once? The reason I ask all the questions is because the only way I can take Tammi is the whole dose at breakfast and I have to make sure I drink a glass of milk with it. I had some stomach issues in the beginning but they went away in after a couple of weeks.
-
Tink I am learning to deal with the constant pain, so annoying....and Jo that drink is just what I need especially without the calories....SandeeI will have to check that out. But the thing is I eat very healthy so not sure what the issue is.....I am just researching everything....I thought you had to be BIG to have gallbladder issues but I stumbled on a link for Tamox and Gallbladder......
Okay so I took my older kitty to the vet and he used to weigh 21 lbs (yes my fatty) but he dropped over 5 1/2 lbs in a year and they now think it might be diabetes or something else. So they did some blood work and now it is a wait and see....he also needs some dental extractions and or cleanings.....that visit cost me $400.00 dollars and we are not even done yet....but it is all worth it.....just remind me of that girls when I start to complain about money......I have so many collection agencies calling me for my BC bills that I pay a little at a time, but funny how I can come up with the money for kitty.....
-
Yes JO I do have nausea that is why I had my husband run out and grab a pregnancy test as I felt so sick.....Don't you think it odd that I am now getting funky SE this late into it? As ECG said....what a cruel joke this is.....April 29th marks the end of my 1 year of Tamox and now this crap......
-
I don't try to figure this stuff out. Maybe try taking your pill with some milk for a couple of days just for the heck of it and see what happens. It certainly can't hurt - can it? I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to all this. I was on Arimidex for 3 weeks before the SEs hit me and I stopped taking it. I felt like I could puke my guts out - sorry to be gross - but that is what it felt like.
-
Does anyone know if rash is an allergic reaction to Tamoxifen? I have a patch of rash on my face and around the wound from my BMX (started two days after starting Tamoxifen). The wound is healed over with new skin, but it looks very pink and the outer area is pink (like rash). The area is not hot and red, so I doubt it is infected, I am trying to self-diagnose at this point.
-
Slinky I would def talk to the Dr about the rash. A rash can be a SE of any new medication.
I have been sewing all day. Had several pants a friend gave me and they all needed hemming, but now I have new clothes to wear. Yeah -
Slinky - Like Sherry said, check it out with your doctor as soon as possible. It could be a SE but it is best if the doctor can tell you that and what to do about it.
Got some hand quilting done today. Had to stop - fingers got too stiff.
I am not counting but we have 28 days left until our cruise.
-
Morning girls! Hey June! And Slinky.... Sometimes you can try & diagnose yourself, yes! And then take it to your Doctor! Show or tell them what you are thinking...See if they think you are nuts, or really DO know what you are talking about.... Ask to just "try" eliminating "something"....and see if it helps.
Sometimes we are our own advocate....And once in awhile, the Doctors are not always right, or have never heard of such a thing.... You would research this for your kids, for your parents....So find out all the information you can, & then just DO it.....
Also a rash? Who has/had this? Mine is a lot better now.... Had it all over my one leg starting at the ankle & working it's way up....sort of like the creeping crud or something!
But don't know if it was the Tamoxifen or nerves, Ha! But I have halted it in it's tracks.
Still getting used to my hearing aids...... They really are a miracle...And I'm not sounding like I'm talking in a tin can in a tin room anymore, Ha! I think I have "adjusted" to them, or them to me, or something in between......
Good luck to you guys! xooxoxxo
-
Jo sure your not counting. LOL
-
Sherry - Who me? I am so ready for a break. This is one way for us to get away and no one bother us. When we get on the ship, the cell phones get turned off and put in the cabin safe for the entire week. The idea of the cruise coming up soon keeps me going these days.
-
Jo, you deserve a holiday. WE all do.
I'm heading down to LA with hubby and daughter for Spring Break.
June, haven't had stomach problems. Definitely see the DR. even to rule out gall bladder. I feel like I am constantly trouble shooting my own health symptoms.
My ONC said not to worry about the swelling in my breast, as it was normal. Two weeks later, I'm seeing a Lymphedema P/T for Breast Lymphedema.
Slinky, not sure what the rash could be. However, the visits I have had with ONC and Rads ONC they always ask if I have a rash.
Is anyone having major hormonal issues on Tamox? I think my family is ready to send me away.
Happy Sunday xxxxxx
Jules

yes, the hormonal issues....so glad to be back on Tamox! not. I am so irritable. Was so nice not feeling that way last few weeks off of it. Hit me by surprise today.
I did have the HUGE down feeling since my surgery but not really irritable...until today! I felt like I wanted to sit on the floor and cry or have a tantrum or something...over a really small thing. Ha, wow..crazy. Not like me.
I'm also dealing with majorly lopsided breasts.
One looks MUCH smaller then the other....much lower and much more projected out. So bummed. And per my PS, not something that will "settle out". He offered up some fat grafting etc...but I feel like that's putting icing on a really lumpy uneven cake. Ha, NO. So, I will be going for some 2nd opinions to some Dr's up in DC area and also one in Va Beach here. Just want to be done and move on. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhh
-
ECG-so sorry about your lopsided breast. I know that had to be a huge disappointed after all this time. Hopefully a second opion will offer you some options.
For those of you having hormonal issues. I hope your body will get used to the tamox so that you can feel normal. I started out with several bad SE (nothing hormonal) and most of it has worked itself out. I still have bad insomnia and hot flashes at night but changed when I take my tammi so hopefully that will get better as well.
-
ECG... my PS is in DC...i sent you a pm..
-
did not have a hot flash last night....did not really sleep either...was at a galpal's in the valley (who went thorugh this 7 years ago and has been tammi free for 1.5 years). Still feel tired but not as emotionally bent out of shape as I was on Friday....crying at the gym...dear god...good thing I don't really care all that much! probably a good thing it is only me and my kitty right now...can hibernate when I need or want to....
June I totally understand re. finding the $$$ for your cat. %.5 pounds is 1/4 of her weight...did they do urine tests too to check kidneys etc? My cat was put o blood pressure medication a year ago to help regulate her kidneys...so they do not have to work as hard. She is still kicking...now need to figure out what is going on wither her bowels....not enjoying coming home to meeses on the rug...but she seems fine otherwise....doing her usual...
ECG- lopsided...yep...still swollen too which is weird...my bra which fit fine before actually leaves a line down the middle of my nipple...still looking for a nonwire bra but think I will wear it tomorrow when I meet radiologist to remind me to talk to him about it.....my pal mentioned above said initially she did not care about the lopsidedness...it is since she started running that she has really noticed..that and hitting her 40's and noticing a droop....now she is on the wait list for reconstructive surgery....never ending battle
