-
Sue,
Gone with the wind was a movie based at the time of the Civil War in the US. - 1860's.
Lassie was a tv show from the 1960's LOL!!!
Victorain times in the US where at the end of the 1800's. At the start of the 1900's the Arts & crafts movement started, when some peopl here liked what your fellow Brit William Morris started - a more simlpe life.
Does that make sense??
Aunty Em
-
Ulla! Your pic is beautiful! I agree with Sue. Ulla , your hair is showing signs of growth , thats wonderful. Don't worry about the "fuzz" it comes first , but thats not what you end up with. In a month , especially after your last chemo tx , it will start coming in more even and thicker. And the dry skin is temporary too. It will get better. I felt just like you. But I didn't even try to look beautiful at that time. No make-up , no glasses , just a scarf. I kinda" wore it on my sleve" as they say. I was going through chemo and this is what it looks like! Is how I felt. Hang on Ulla , it really , really , really does get better. xxxx Melody
-
Ulla I never ever heard of going with wind xxx I am going to get the book xxx
Aunt Em that makes a little sense only I dont know William Morris.what did you all wear in the 1800s...was it like prairie house...I remember when prairie skirts were in fashion over here in the 70s..
What era was Tarzan xxxx was he before christ
-
Oh my, is my spelling horrible or what?????
Sue, Good Luck tomorrow, and try to be nice to the nurses.
I know, easier said then done.!!!
AE
-
Auntie Em , thank you. I knew someone here was knowledgeable about history. I can't even remember the author of Gone with the Wind. Marjorie someone?
-
Late 1800's we wore what you wore. After all, the Victorain era came from England. Long dresses, hats, gloves.
Google William Morris - he was a "thinker" who dabbed in design. I'm sure you have seen William Morris-like things in your lifetime - you probably just never knew who designed it!! He was very big in textiles.
Hope that clears things up.
AE
-
Oh Sue lololol
-
Margaret Mitchell wrote Gone with the Wind.
-
Tarzan??? what on earth made you think of him???? LOL.
-
Thank you Auntie Em. That was gonna bug me till I looked it up.
-
Melody have you wet youreslf again LOL
-
Ulla - you look so sheek, you sexy thing!!
Ah, to be young again.
-
AHHH YES AUNTY EM....textiles were a big thing over here...yes we still have old mills and things steeped in history xxx THANKYOU!!!
