Hello my loves!
Hope you all had a fabbie christmas and are looking forward to a great, happy and healthy new year and beyond.
Well the skin under the old boob has broken down (boo) and is weepy. There's a bit of blood in the discharge. Got gel and self adhensive dressings but it is sore. Back at hopital tomorrow (got another 7 fry ups to go - 30 in all) I fell on 23rd so am bruised too (boo hoooooo).
Sorry to moan sweethearts, but my hair shows no sign of returning, my eyebrows and nails haave fallen out as well, all AFTER Taxotere. I know that some s/e can be permanent and fear that my fingers will always be numb, nails not grow back and be baldy!!! No one can tell me how long I will be feeling like this. Any advice my dear friends?
Thanks so very much for being there (We are snowed in too, never seen snow like it!!) Getting stir crazy.
Tartan hugs

Hello everyone. Nettie, I'm not sure how long the s/e lasts, I chose to have the mastectomies so I didn't have to do the chemo part. The radiation part I do understand. Just keep lots of lotion on it and maybe some triple antibiotic oitnment to avoid any infections. I didn't like the ltion they gave me so I got Alovera with vitamin e in it. It did help.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and I'm looking forward to the new year and hope it goes a little better for us all.
Nettie - I'm praying for you that all goes well.

Nettie gentle hugs coming your way, so sorry for all the CRAPPY SE, tehey stink for sure. The hair thingveries from person to person just like everything else does from Bootface, Moan all you want, we are all here for you. I was given a very good burn cream but can not recall the name, I broke down some only with the final boosts. I know I had 5 , but might have been 7. I know thers nothing that can really ease the frustration right now, just know that all your friends here are praying hard everyday that this journey will soon ease for you. XOXOXOXOXOXO

Great pic of you and Ed Cathi! My goodness you're a good-looking couple!
-
Thanks Barbe, pretty relaxing day we were at his brothers of coarse with dumbass, but she didn't say anything to bad, as tired as we both are it was just good to have someone else do all the cooking and picking up things. Ed got to watch a few football games in quiet, and I about fell asleep after dinner.
-
Perfect! Did dumbass have a muzzle on? Only way I could see that working....

Belated Merry Christmas, everyone. I've been reading a bit when I can, but I was on vacation last week and so busy there wsas little time to post. Now I'm back at work and things are quiet. LOL.
I've had a house full of relatives and we've been going back and forth between there and one of my brothers' home for meals and celebrations. Kind of bittersweet as it will be the last Christmas we have in this home...50 years of holidays. But everyone agrees, it's best to put it on the market. It was left to all seven of us equally, but we need to sell it to give each their share. Of the sibs that need a home (myself and two brothers), none can buy the house on their own...we'd need at least two to meet the income requirements for a mortgage. And we don't get along THAT well.
But it was nice to have as many sibs there for this holiday. Only two were missing...and one of them will be visitng next month if my reconstruction surgery goes through. More on that: the latest wrench in the works is that the hospital and my insurance provider are in contract negotiations. The current one is set to expire on 12/31/09. If they don't come to an agreement, the hospital will be out of my network at the time my surgery is scheduled. I can't afford that so I will have to cancel. It will be down to the wire.
Other than that, had a lovely time off from work. Cleaned the house and got it straightened up a lot (but not completely...jerk brother still won't move all his crap). My daughter gave me a few lovely little gifts, and I got several bottles of wine from my sibs...some I've already drunk, and some I've regifted, lol. We cooked several memorable meals and had enough leftovers to feed us all last night. Coming to work today was actually relaxing.
I'm looking forward to the new year. I hope it brings us all good things.

No muzzle Barbe, like I said she didn't say anything stupid regarding BC, she is just so Fowl Mouthed she has 2 DD's nice girls from what I have ever seen but daughters one is 24 and one just graduated Highschool last year and is now attending college in Orlando, she talks so Nasty about them, I know we all rant about our kids from time to time, but the words she uses to describe them - OMGosh, pure trailer trash talk. They are going to PA on Wednesday for a week to my SIL's house , should be fun for them, my SIL is absolutely one of the kindess sweetest fun woman I have ever known, Ed and his siblings are, like us SIL tolerates dumbass, I pity her for a week,

Thank you Lisa, I wish I felt THIN, the MUFFIN TOP is bbulging this holiday season for sure, but trying not to beat myself up to much over the bad eating habits for a few weeks come 1/2/2010 everything bad and unhealthy will be long gone from my house. Funny Ed knows what happens every January, he is not a real unhealthy eater, no fast food stuff, but he likes his snacks and meat and potatoes, so he says he will start his "closet eating" soon, lucky dog he can eat almost anything without gaining weight. I had a good outfit on that covered the hips.
Glad you had a good Christmas, I have heard "ONE OF THETHE BEST CHRISTMAS'S" ever from so many people this year, for me the same, Ella is doing well, she is back to the DR on Thursday, still having some yucky breathing issues and still needing to sleep upright, the last 2 days she has not slept well in any position, Amanda is pretty tired,
Happy New Year t you, and exciting Eve plans?
XOXOXOXOXOXOX

AE, that is so funny that you mention smelling Ella! I was going to post about the very same thing....baby powder, baby shampoo, baby shit.....sigh....I can't wait!

Nettie - I'm thinking of you and praying that you feel better soon. I hope you were able to get something to soothe your poor sore breast.
Cathi - love the photos. You and Ed look so good together. Ed sounds like my husband - he can eat anything and stays thin whereas if I want to fit into my clothes I have to be so strict. I've fallen off the diet wagon a bit this Christmas with the fridge and cupboards crammed with foods I usually just do not have in the house. Sweet, sweet Ella - I can imagine how wonderful she smells. Oh, I would love a grandchild to cuddle and love.
It sounds as though most of you had a great Christmas. We didn't give many gifts but most of my favourite people were all here together and that was the best part.
Nancy, it's sad that you have to sell your family house but of course you have to do what is best for everyone in your family. So glad you could get together with your siblings.
Lisa - how lovely that you were with your daughters and everything went well. You mentioned a great new man...are we going to hear any more?!
It's late - just gone midnight so must go to bed.
Love to everyone. oxoxo

I'm very lucky to have 2 delightful grandchildren ... a boy (almost 5) and a girl 2 1/2 ... they are so much fun...I'm going to see them this afternoon, and tomorrow night and Saturday too ....when I'm with them I don't think of much else. Here's hoping you all get your own little ones to cuddle and to smell.
-
Nancy, it's bittersweet to have to sell the house, but you can start fresh on your own without having to babysit your brothers! Keep us posted
-
Barbe you crack me up Ella has the worst newborn poo smell ever, WOW, we were actually a little concerned about it so Amanda asked DR at her last visit, it is awful, Dr has of yet had the opportunity to smell first hand - LOL. He assumes it to be nothing, but Amanda needs to keep an eye (or nose I guess) on it to see if it worsens or what ever. She always smells great except for that. Alexcis says her breath is stinky, LOL, thats better as her vomiting after eating has also lessened, it wasn't just baby spit up she would throw up like projectile, she goes back to DR Thursday, can't wait to see what she weighs because I can feel a change when holding her, last week she had just gained a few ounces, I know its way more now. She has passed all hwer hearing tests with flying colors - yeah, they have pointed out a diformity though in her ear, we all thought it was a little diffrent, but really paid no mind, but it it, it's like she is missing some of the lobe.
Well back to work. Have a great day all.
-
I see what you mean about Ella's earlobe, Cathi. So what though. She's still perfect!!!
-
Cathi - I agree with Karen - Ella is still a perfect little sweetheart. Just think of the variation in ears anyway - some stick out, some lobes are attached, some unattached, some are big, small, flat...etc. Ella just has Ella ears and they're lovable. I hope she has gained weight and her breathing and intestinal problems are soon behind her.

-
Ella has Princess ears..that's why they're different!
-
Ella is perfect. Like the others said, no one has ears like anyone else. On CSI one time they used an ear print to identify the criminal -- not to say that Ella is a criminal, just ears are very unique.

Happy New Year ALL. Ed and I are staying home this year actually babysitting for Brandt, he is asleep as he had a busy day W/Margo, Ed is watching a movie and I am in my jammies already. We have a fancy smancy wedding on 1/16 thats a bit over an hour away with an open bar - YEAH, we are going to take advange of the weekend and get a POSHY HOTEL and live it up, the kids already know they are pet sitting so aside from booking the room we are all set, it will be our late New Years Eve Celebration. We are gonna try and make midnight, but not sure if thats gonna happen - Snoozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Ella saw the DR her weight is good she is at 7.4LPS, but she has a most awful cold and DR said right now her Lungs sound crackly - not horrible but not good. She is still having to sleep upright and he has Amanda steaming her every hour, I gave her a vaporizer for the apartment too, DR said ok as long as not right near Ella. Her poor little nose stays so plugged - just sounds awful, he (the DR) also noted that her urine had a SWEET smell???? Anyway she goes back in Monday. So anyway off to spend some time with Ed.
Praying for a good 2010 for us all.
XOXOXOXOXOXO

Oh, girls. I'm so sad. My dear, sweet, cousin Kirsten has been diagnosed with bc. Remember, I had you all pray for her last June. They told her she had a cyst. I'm so angry! It wasn't just a cyst! And now she has another tumor as well! Why is this happening to her? She has a boyfriend with kidney disease and her ex is a big jerk. She is a great person! Why her??
Happy New Year. I'm sorry to be a downer.
Hugs,
Karen
-
Hi Karen, that is horrible news about your sweet cousin. This stinking disease does not discriminate. I'm so sorry. It's taken a long time to get a dx but it sounds as though the cyst may have been hiding the tumour/s? Am praying that she gets a dx that responds well to treatment and isn't too high stage-wise. xoxo
