Hi Linda - Sorry we will miss you but those grandbabies come first. We expect pictures next time.
Denise & everyone - I just let the dog out and there is a light cover of snow. Don't wimp out on us. It is fluffy and dry so I expect driving to be fine.
I was driving with my DH navigating yesterday. We came up to another roundabout in Ann Arbor. I got through it fine and it was really nothing compared to the Lee Rd. one. I did notice my hubby clutching the dashboard though. Hmmm, wonder why?
I got email from Ann, ArmyNavyMom. She will not be able to join us but plans on joining 'Wings of Hope' again this year. She is no longer on bc.org but if I'll ask her if she minds if I can share her email address if anyone wants it (offline).
Hope to see everyone soon. Drive carefully, take your time and get ready to eat, talk and have a good time.

Well, Darn! I coudn't sleep at ALL last night, sisters. Dunno why. But I feel AWful. I'm going to have to pass on this one.
I'll hope to be at the next one. And, I'll be at the Walk in June.
Sorry! I was all excited about today.
-
Okay, DH just came back from the gas station (newspaper run).....told me he had to stop at the end of the hilly drive and couldn't get going again........had to stop at the stop sign (which no one does) and slid............scooted into the gas station............................BUT...............................he assures me the Expressway looks fine!!!! Is that Love or not!
I will see you all in a bit!
Hugs,
Denise

Hi All:
I just called Nancy to let her know I will not be coming today. I have had a cold since December 29 - that's right Decembe 29. Is that even possible, or do you guys think I might have re-infected myself or even have allergies now??? If anyone has any ideas I would be happy to hear them because I am sick of being sick!!! Well, I know there are others not able to make it today too so tas Nancy said that just gives us another reason to get together before the Walk, right???
Lorrie and Nancy: I will definitely bring pictures of my three little grandbabies at that time. Reilly is 2 1/2, Connell was 2 in October and Quinn just turned 1. I also have another on the way in May!!! Thanks for wanting to see them - grandmas love to brag, don't they??
Hugs to all,
Pat

Well, it looks like I'm out, too. Too many bad omens...I get the feeling "someone" is telling me to stay home:
1. My co-worker had to cancel
2. I was going to use DH's car (few miles on his) and his flight got delayed last night, so he couldn't get home.
3. Then his flight this morning was delayed, so he'd get home too late for me to take it.
4. I couldn't get on the internet for hours in order to check the weather, traffic and get directions.
5. I finally got directions, and went to leave (about 15 minutes late), then when I got to M-53 I saw that it was closed going south due to a major accident. In order to get around it, I'd have had to go miles out of my way on snowy dirt roads.
I figured I wasn't meant to leave at this moment in time.
Hopefully, we can get another lunch together soon. Nancy - please post the photos!

Do I ever feel terrible...
Ladies, I just got back from Urgent Care. My sweetheart is very ill with pneummonia..he felt kinda lousy yesterday but said he thought it was a cold.
I do apologize..if I had someone's phone number I would have called.
I hope all of you had a glorious time...
Till we meet again..

Well Linda! You see how important it is you come back with your pockets full! And while you are at it, leave your clothes behind and fill them all up with some California SUNSHINE Lady! We need it! It's been snowing here for ever this year, all year already! PLEASE bring us some sunshine home? PRETTY PLEASE????????
-
Kay - sure hope you feel better!!!!
Lorie Anne: Sorry to hear about your sweety . . . hope he feels much better soon, too!!!!

Hello ladies...

I feel energized because of it.
Love and hugs to all!

Hey ladies...........just got home from the luncheon....(after a couple stops) and had to come here and check on the ones that weren't there. Glad you are all okay.........................not great, but nothing "major!" Hope you all start feeling better and Lorie Anne hope your sweety gets better, too. Irene, can't say that I blame you.............get rid of the 'cloud' that seems to be following you today.
As usual, we had a good time...............just wish more restaurants had round tables..........always feel like I only visit with half of everyone when we're at a long table. The food was delicious and the company was great!
We'll do it again this spring!
Hugs,
Denise

Susie! So nice to meet you too! It does energize you doesn't it!! You guys keep in touch!

Hello luncheon ladies,
It was nice seeing you again and meeting up with our new members.
Thank you for letting my daughter join us.
Looking forward to our next gathering.
Take care
Bonnie

It was great to see you all yesterday...everyone looked great! Bonnie...good job on the long drive...your daughter seems like a very nice young lady. Sorry we missed everyone else. Get well Pat and Lorie Anne's seetheart and Kay.
-
Hi luvs,
It was a wonderful time as always! It was so nice to meet the beautiful, new ladies. Someone should kick me next time I have a space-cadet moment. I brought name tags but forgot to take them out and I still struggled with names. Sorry Bonnie - I probably called you Wendy too many times.Geri - have a safe trip. Wish I could have caught up more. Chris, same with you at the other end of the table. We have to plan another time so we can all catch up.
Lorie-Ann - I kept looking for you and worried about you. Take care of your sweetie and keep us posted on his progress. I'll PM you my phone number. Warning... most of you know that I'm not a phone talker! Don't take offense if I'm a few seconds behind in responding. My hearing is shot and it takes a bit to figure out the conversation.
Irene - I knew you would brave anything so I worried about you. I have those days and when weird things happen, it is time to go home and stay someplace safe. Not that I'm superstitious but geez things happen in bunches.
Bonnie - You probably get told this all the time but you and your daughter look like you could be sisters. She is a doll and I'm sorry I forgot her name! I'm so glad you made the long trip.
Kay - You had hug requests from the other topic I posted so I kept looking for you. Get some sleep and get well soon.
Pat, you know the two week rule - go to your doctors NOW! You will spend more time worrying that clearing up what ails you. Many people at work are having colds that are lingering for over a month. They sound really bad and croupy but say they feel ok. It has to be this year's strain.
I think we need to research for a restaurant with round tables. Maybe I'll hit a few just for desert and coffee. What the heck, it's all in the name of research, right?
I'm so sorry some of our other newbies didn't make it. I know it was a crummy day and hard to brafe it to meet a bunch of strangers. Honestly, we will be great friends once you know us. It really is fun and energizing.
I'm afraid that most of my pics were really blurry and bad! I was counting on our resident expert photogs. You know who you are...
Ok, first pick is of the group.
From left to around the table... Bonnie, Nancy nestled in Denise's armpit, Denise, Barb, Susie, Maureen, Connie Sue, Chris and Gerri. Sorry I cut Gerri off and I think Bonnie's daughter took the pic.
This next pic is of lovely Denise's chest. Notice the lanyard? More to come....
Here is our beautiful Susieloutoo and notice the lanyard she is wearing. Susie made these
lanyards for holding drains or for swiping her radiation card. Most of us noted that we
have to wear ID cards at work and these would be oh so nice for that ....Look closer at Susieloutoo... You might want to PM her about these.
Finally, I wanted to get a pic of Denise's fingers. But look at what she is pointing at,
another beautiful lanyard that susielou makes and sells....Take care everyone

Nancy -
ha! I am speechless....not sure about that model choice LOL

Waaaaaa! One of the rare time I don't like the fact that we moved from MI to AK is when I see you guys post about meeting! I had SO much fun when I crashed oneof your lunches when I was in town. You all look great! Wish I would have been there to see and meet more of you.
Hugs

Hi Everyone,
Awww looks as though you all had a great time:-) Thanks for posting the pics Nancy-you all just look soooo good!
My sweetie is on the mend..still feeling rather crummy. (I just read on CNN that Christian Brando just died from pneummonia).Thank you for all your well wishes.
Ok..looking forward to seeing you all in Spring. I'm so looking forward to some sunshine.(and warmth)
Pat, hope you are on the mend! And congrats on the baby on the way!! Hope your feeling better, Kay.

Love the pics! I'll try and post a couple tonight! UMMMM.......if those are my fingers in the pic.........I'm heading to the spa for a manicure!!!!
I agree with you Nancy........maybe we should hit several restaurants up for desserts and find a few with round tables...............and large chairs which I will need after all the 'research'..!
Love the lanyards made by our "newbie" susie...........I'm just saying.......I have her email if anybody wants to see more of them!!
Deb: Another perfect reason for you to visit MI long about End of July, first of August.................lunch on your way to New York!!
Gotta hit the road!
Hugs,
Denise

Sorry I missed it ladies. I am in to week 4 of rads and I am tired. My daughter has strep throatt also. I would love to go to the next function.
Ilene

Hi -
Ilenee - How many more rads tx do you have? Who is your Rads onc? Techs? They were so great to me at St Joe....Getting out of the house everyday helped me. How is your skin? I hope all is going as planned....hang in there! Not far to go - gentle Hugs!
Susie

Geez, I was going to post the pic of the group that the waitress took with all of us squished together on the 'couch'..................she better keep her day job, cuz it's so dark you can't even see us!
Hugs,
Denise
-
Nessie...too funny.
Hugs all

Hi Kiddo's -
Deb - hope you can join us again someday. We will plan a gathering in a heartbeat if you are out this way.
Nicki - Another name switch. I remember Chemosabi! You aren't that far away. Grab kats and Catherine and come on down.Bonnie - Looks like you almost posted some pics. Need help? Upload them to www.photobucket.com, get the url they give you and copy it to your message by selecting the little picture icon. Kats has better instructions I'm sure.
Neesie - I crack myself up. Those might be my fingers in the picture! I need a manicure. Do you have polish on? I don't. The pictures I took were really bad. I think either Bonnie's daughter or Gerri took the one above which turned out good.
Ilene - Rads go by quickly and you will be done before you know it. I found Aquaphor worked great and didn't even get red except for my back. I didn't know it was in the field and wasn't putting anything on it.Susielou - I'd really like a lanyard with the tiny beads if you have any. I have to hunt up your email for the details.
Take care everyone...

Nancy -
You got it!! I will PM with you about the details. I am meeting Barb on Thurs to get her lanyard to her. Thanks so much...
Gentle hugs

I finally found out what was wrong when I tried over and over to log in. I had the right password, but he wrong User Name because I never read the complete email. How is that for chemo brain? I'm sorry I missed the luncheon. I might have actually have been able to make that one even though I'm here in frozen Kalamazoo. Nancy I like your ideas for banners for the Komen march. Getting arrested might get more publicity! I'm finally having my second knee replacement on Feb. 26th after battling with my health insurance company and being rejected by every ortho practice in Kalamazoo. I'm going to be allowed to go back to my ortho at Troy Beaumont. All my problems stem from my Henry Ford onc. stopping my Neulasta shots at my last chemo. She said to let my immunities come back naturally. She forgot I taught school. Within a week I had pneumonia. Then I had surgery for a bowel obstruction and contracted MRSA from the surgery. That is why I have been limping on a cane for a year. Sorry for sounding b-----, but drs. tend to think they are God's closest relatives if not the Deity himherself. When they make mistakes it can affect whole lives. Anyway if my knee recovers in time, I might decide to come to Detroit for the Komen thing if you ladies are going to participate. I'm sort of phobic about it because the one march I did attend was with a fractured sacrum. it hurt that day, but I managed to attend anyway. The next day I was in the ER, so even if it makes no sense I'm superstitious about it.

Geez - luckyanna (another name change). I know you have been through the wringer but things have got to get better. I know what you mean about the doctors. If I don't click with them right away, I'm outta there!
I'm also going through the insurance company problem myself. They are saying that tests that my doctor ordered are not necessary. I want to battle them but my doc says there are alternative tests they will pay for. Who are these people that make decisions about our medical care??? How dare they!
About the Komen Race. I've since toned down my "anger" and will probably not get arrested. But, I'll probably put my favorite saying on a banner and would still like to make a large dragon or dragon fly or something with "hopeful wings". After all, we are "Wings of Hope"! Don't be superstitious about the race. You are a teacher - draw from your logic! Anyway, you still get trolley gifts if you go that route.
Take care Anna. I still have your t-shirt from last year! Do you want me to mail it to you?

I thought I'd mention that I saw my onc last week and he discussed one clinical trial in the works. It is continuing Femara after 5 years to see if there is benefit to taking "FEMARA FOR LIFE". Just hearing that made me sick. I'm counting down the days to August when I stop femara, so - no way am I doing that one!
There was a paper on his cupboard about another study to see if there is benefit to taking ArginMax for MOJO (ok, it didn't say mojo but you know what I mean). I just did a search for ArginMax and Net Nanny blocked me from it because it said it was classified as "pornography". Ok, back to work.
-
Nancy - yes I did try to post pictures but failed. I will try another time. Thanks for the picture tip and the "sister" compliment about daughter Lacie and I. Actually I am turning 51 on Sunday so I'll take the compliment - thank you. Good luck to you on the insurance problem we should not have to battle them too! I'm with you on the bad vibes about clicking with a Dr........been there. Too funny about the porn site!
Susie - you sure make a cute model. I think you will have great success on your lanyard creations. I'll PM you later on making one for me. If you still want to do lunch sometime give me a holler.
Denise - you were lovely modeling the lanyards also it really pops against your red sweater. Did you and Nancy figure out who needs the manicure.....you two make me laugh.
Chris - thanks for compliment on daughter also. Best wishes on upcoming wedding of your daughter. You could just hear the pride in you when you talked about the wedding.
Everyone stay WARM!
Bonnie
