Thanks. I'll ask her what type of follow-up tx she was on. I don't recall. Actually it was just 5 years since her first occurrence.
Last evening I began getting some tingling in my left hand and then had some numbness in the hand if I laid on that side during the night. I'm assuming this is from inflammation from rads. Anyone else experience this?
Thanks you to each and everyone of you. Happy for each of you as you finish rads.
Happy 4th!
Linda -
I just found this site. I've been active on the Jan Chemo board. I plan on walking with you on the Karmanos walk next year. I didn't know how I'd feel this year (lame excuse). I was diagnosed in November, chemo Jan to April 5, surgery 5/1, started rads 6/12 and will hopefully finish 7/29. I live in Shelby Twp, MI. Let me know of any get togethers you have planned in the future.

HI Mary and Welcome!
-
I hope this works - sorry it took so long. I guess I was procrastinating and waiting for Irene's.

LorieAnn - Hope you are healing quickly from your surgery. Dancing with NED!!! That is the best part.
Debbie - Happy belated finish of rads. Anne must be done by now also? Are you out in Minnesota now? Sounds like a wonderful place.
Judy - How is your foot?
Welcome Linda and Mary.
Linda - are you on an AI? I would think the tingling and numbness would be from Femara or another AI. The drill is - if it persists call your onc!
Mary - My docs are in the Ann Arbor area. Do you get out that way?
Did everyone thank the people who donated to Komen? Linda K. did some fund raising and generously matched their donation. I'm not seeing it added to our site yet though and I sent it some time ago.
I think it would be fun to meet at Eddie Hines or some place like that. Anyone have a weekend open this summer?
xxxooo
Nancy -
What a great set of pictures, Nancy. Thanks for taking the time to post them..... I'm especially grateful since we forgot to bring a camera for the big day. Hope that these images bring back as many happy and inspirational feelings to each of you -- as they do for me. I'm so glad that we were able to participate, even in the limited fashion that I was able. What a great team that we made!! Let's keep inviting more folks to join us for next year. Hope that all are having a great summer and enjoy the 4th with all of it's festivities.
Best to each of you in your journey!! -
I don't often get to Ann Arbor but I met a lady on the Jan board who lives in Pinckney and we got together once.
-
Great set of pictures, Nancy. Looks as though you had a blast. Thanks for posting.
Betsy43 -
Thanks for posting the pictures! Happy 4th to everyone!
-
Thanks for the pics Nancy! Hello to our new ladies...sorry you are here, but glad that you found us.
I've only got a couple weekends occupied this summer....Don't know who or what 'Eddie Hines' is, but I'm game!!
Hugs,
Denise -
Hey ladies
I mentioned here before that I lived in MI from 1981 until 4 years ago when we moved back home to AK. I will be visiting a friend in Whitmore Lake from the 28th of July until the 1st and then I will be going up North in the Houghton Lake area to visit family on August 7th and 8th.
If anyone is in those area and wants to try and get together for lunch, I'm game....
It is always neat to meet sister
Deb C -
Hi ladies, thought maybe I'd join in and see if there's anyone from the Holland area here. I just finished chemo last week and I am half way done with my rads. This tread just caught my eye, so I thought..what the heck.. Thanks rosebud
-
Hey Deb,
You're darn tooting we're having lunch while you are here!! I will make sure that I am free one of those days....There are a couple of others that live in the area, too........Hey ladies, get with me and we can plan something while Deb is here! It will be during the week though.
Hugs,
Denise -
RoseBud: So glad you found us! A very friendly group of Michiganders here............We have girls from different areas of the State and try to get together a few times a year for lunch. I'm not from the Holland area, but someone has to be!
Hugs,
Denise -
How does Monday the 30th look for lunch?? I will be in Whitmore Lake so Brighton would be close....just a thought...I would love to meet anyone who is in the area.
Deb C -
Oh sure, Nancy, blame me! I'm the world's biggest procrastinator. Especially when it comes to uploading photos on a dial up connection.
Sorry it's taken so long to get the photos done. My husband is currently obssessed with mock drafts for fantasy football and has been hogging the internet for weeks.
Anyway, here is the link for the photos. Let me know if you have any problems. http://good-times.webshots.com/album/559842755qRnjqi?start=0
Welcome to all the new ladies! Sorry, I'm not in the Holland area either.
Deb - would love to meet you. I don't know if I can swing a Monday, though.
Well, DH is chomping at the bit to get on line.
Take care everyone.
Irene -
Hi Rosebud!
We are still on the same course. I just finished 1/3 of the way through rads. As you may recall, I am in Kalamazoo. We should get together sometime soon. I think we may be the only ones from this side of the state. Good luck with rads and glad to hear you finished chemo.
Love and prayers to all of you and please let me know if you decide to get together later this summer. Would love to meet all of you. Linda -
Hi Rosebud. I live in Alendale so not very far from Holland. I love shopping there and going to the lake. Let me know if you want to get together sometime. Maybe we can start a get together on this side of the state.
Jackie -
Hi Deb,
Monday the 30th works for me.............hope some of the others can join us! I'll be in touch with you before you leave.
Hey, any of you Michiganders available to welcome one of our 'former' Michiganders on Monday the 30th. in Brighton?
Hugs,
Denise -
Has anyone heard from Anne? (armynavymom)...She hasn't been on any of the forums I usually see her on, and she didn't answer the pm I sent her to see if she was okay. Yup, I'm a Mother Hen...........worry.
Hugs,
Denise -
I noticed her absence also. I have not seen her on the board since the walk.
Anne we miss you hope all is well.
Judy how is your foot doing? I have a picture to send I'll try to figure out how. Maybe I can pm it somehow.
Debbie are you still in WI? How's the vacation going for you?
Hope the summer is going well for everyone.
take care
WingGirl -
I appologise Michigan Sisters. I didn't mean to worry anyone. I'm okay, just out of sorts mentally. Dad's death really hit me hard, and the stupidist things set me off. I haven't been a lot of grins and giggles, so I've been keeping to myself.
We have Dad's house emptied and on the market - did anyone see the article in the Ann Arbor News about the family who found the hand grenade? That was me.
Denise - I'm sorry, my sister. I did answer your PM. A long reply, if not exactly cheerful. I guess it went to cyberspace. I truely didn't mean to worry my favorite mother hen. <hugs>
Physically, I had good news (and it's a measure of the weirdness of this beast that I can say this and know you'll understand why it's so thrilling) I had a completely normal colonoscopy. The specialist I saw wants me to come back in 5 years instead of the normal 10, but only due to my history. Mentally it was really tough because that was one of the last tests my Dad had before he passed in May. The anesthesiologist basically said for me to grow up and get over it (because I kept crying while I was sitting waiting), the doctor and 'my' nurse were very kind and understanding.
Mary - I am in Shelby Township, too. Where do you get treated? Who's your onc? Maybe we can get together sometime since we're so close. I finished chemo in March and Rads just after Memorial Day.
That being said, I have to share that we are moving. Not far, about 6 miles, but we won't be renting any more. I'm so excited I could burst. I'm not looking forward to the packing, but I'll deal with that by thinking about how fun the unpacking will be.
Where is the lunch with Deb on the 30th? I'd love to join you all, but I'll have to count my vacation days.
I really better get to work - another very busy day is looming!
Hugs to all,
Anne -
Dear, Dear Anne,
I feel so much better now! I'm sorry you've been on such a roller coaster. I'm sure the death of your Dad is very hard, not to mention just finishing your treatment. Blessings.
Colonoscopy good............yeehaw!! I'm still to chicken to have it done.
New house........great!! I know you have been looking forward to that!
Deb mentioned lunch in the Brighton area as that is where she is staying before heading to Pinkstock. No place set up yet.......give me a shout if you can make it!! I've made a last minute decision to go to Pinkstock.......not leaving until The Friday of.
I'm not that far from you,(I don't think), if you want some 'girl' time........please let me know. I'd be more than happy to meet you or come there.
Hugs,
Denise -
Hi Postettes,
Friday was hump day for me and I am halfway through rads!
Anne, I'm sorry you have had such a tough year. Yes, I heard about the grenade - how scary! I recall cleaning out my Mom and Dad's house and it was a tough time. Glad you had a good result with the colonoscopy. It must be exciting to be moving into your new home. Is Shelby Township near Detroit?
Take care all of you. I'd love to join you in Brighton, just not sure I can manage to work it in with rads. But I may give it a try. Let us know where and when.
Love and prayers to all of you, Linda -
Hey Denise---
Do you want to pick a place to eat? You would know better than me where to go these days If more folks could get together for dinner instead of lunch (if people are at work during the day) that would be fine too. Chime in folks....
Lunch or Dinner???
Deb C -
I'd love to meet if you make it for dinner or some time after 3:30 p.m. I've dwindled my vacation time since my DH has been sick.
We need to catch up! So many newbies - Welcome from another Postette! -
I could also do dinner. I work in Troy and get off at 4:00.
Nancy - Sorry to hear your husband's been sick. How is he? -
Dinner would be better for me, too. I'm sure my boss will let me cut out early! She's a sweetie.
Anne -
OK...sounds like dinner is better....any more folks with an opinion????
Heck...we could just start at noon and hang out in a bar/resturaunt all day LOLOL
Deb C -
Hey, I'd like to come, too. This could be a mini-pinkstock for me, since I won't be able to make it to New York. Let me know what's been decided. If anyone else would be coming from the Lansing area, maybe we could ride together.
Laura -
Hey!! I think I'm back!!! I have covered a lot of territory since I got back from Boston without my man, but I think I'm on the upswing. I'll be at the lunch? dinner? all day meetin' on the ground on the 30th. Have we decided where?
