Hi Linda..sure hope you can join us on the 24th...what do you think??
PS, I lived in Mission Beach 1964-65 after I graduated from college..
-
Hi,
Ok--we are set for 1/24 at Today's Pizza and it is very easy to find--right across the street from Scripps Encinitas Hospital in the Rite Aid plaza--to the left as you enter off Santa Fe. THey will setup a large table and a small side table for the boys--I told them around noon---does that work for everyone? You can view their menu at www.todayspizzaandsalad.com

Hey Linda. Perfect timing. Can't wait to meet you. I hope you can make it.
Joyce-If you are at this thread you are at the right place. Good luck with your tram on Tuesday and call me anytime. Hope to see you at our Feb. lunch whenever and wherever it is.

What time? I assume noon, but don't know for sure. I will be there so you don't all forget me.

Had lunch in Oceanside today...fun, fun
-
Socal-I don't recall the ocean in Oceanside being quite that blue with the surfer catching the wave LOL. Did you eat at Ruby's at the end of the pier?
-
Hi Brenda..nope, it was at the Longboarder...nice day to be at the beach!!
-
OOOOOOOHHHH, Liz, what beautiful pix! You are a pro.
Hugs, SHirl

It would be wonderful to meet all of you! You definitely are such a fabulous supportive group. It has been beautiful here on Mission Beach. Had my granddaughter who is just turning 4 here for the week. What fun! We hear it is really cold and lots of snow back home in Michigan. Glad we were able to get away. Plan on me for the 24th! I have my GPS with me so should be able to find the restaurant. Just up the 5.
Hugs, Linda

Good Linda..you are right ..it is just up the 5 for you

Hi Ladies,'
While here I'd love to get a look at the whales while here. Other than the whale watching boats that go out, know of anywhere else I can go to see them and perhaps dolphins? If I go on one of the boats, any recommendation?
Thanks and see you on the 24th!
Linda
-
Sea World LOL.
-
Linda..if you go out to the Pt. Loma lighthouse national Historical site you
might be able to see the whales...they have a little parking area just before
you get to the central parking area that is known for seeing whales...I have
personally seen many there...take binoculars...

Hi all,
Sadly, my dad passed away on Friday and I am now in Central CA through the end of this week at a minimum. So, take me off the reservation list for 1/24 - and I hope to see you all in February.
Jeanne
-
Jeanne - so sorry to hear of your sad news.
{{{{hugs}}}}
Lisa
-
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, Jeanne--please accept my condolences.
-
Jeanne-Sending you some big cyber hugs. So sorry.
-
Hi all,
Still planning on Sat myself--but have had a little accident--tripped on a curb last Weds night and went to the ER and YEP---shattered my elbow---so got home Sat and trying to figure out what happens next---they put it back together--I was lucky- an Orthopedic surgeon came right in and I was operated on within 4 hrs--removed the elbow joint and I now have lots of screws and a plate--and MUCH pain....but it could have been much worse---but i was walking way to fast and carrying some stuff and down I went......
Sorry to hear of your Dad's passing , Jeanne--seems like we are all at that stage with elderly family members.
hugs,
Sylvia
-
Little accident? LITTLE?!?
Got one thing to say and that is OWWWIEEE!
Lisa
ps - can I bring you a couple of Dilaudid?
-
yes-well--i was on that IV and couldn't go home until I could tolerate oral meds---none of it took the pain away---!! And I did have alot of nausea...
So--I'm making it thru with 1 hydrocodone every 4 hrs and 800 mgs of motrin every 4 hrs --so I'm taking something every 2 hrs---if that makes sense?!
Anyway--yeh--i turned my wrist when I was making my way into my house and heard this crunching noise --and knew it wasn't good!!!-So they took out the olecranon and I'm hopefully it will all heal well---they said it was like powder dust in ther---good ole' arimidex bones?!
-
Jeanne - life is not fair! Sorry about your dad - now concentrate on your own health.
Sylia - ouch. I chipped my elbow many years ago & it hurt like crazy - I can only imagine how you are feeling. If it's the arm you are handed, you must learn how to everything from scratch - eating to peeing and everything in between!
And LisaSDCA - how are you feeling these days?
Next time I see you guys, I'll only have 2 weeks left to work! Yeah!!!!
-
Thanks for your concern, Susan. I wish I could say I felt confident that my MRI next month would show the blasted tumor as non-existent. But when I tried to wean off the Evil Decadron (and it was a very s-l-o-w taper) all of my symptoms began to return - the speech problems, the pressure, the pain - even my handwriting (which hadn't improved much) went downhill again. I am not up to my full dose of steroids - I refuse to go that high - but it is so frustrating and disappointing to take one step forward, two steps back. My hand tremors and weakness are fully back, so any work is out of the question. Even my posts to this board are brief (and few) because it takes me so long to get them corrected/edited.
Whine Whine Whine
I do have an occasional period I feel good - but I don't know if it's the steriod buzz or that I'm getting better for real!
I like to think it's the latter.
