I guess we can do it like last year...everyone bring a gift under $10
sounds like fun...good to see you Lisa#3...bet you are loving the
"sounds of silence" with the three boys all off doing whatever...of course,
it is the whatever that we Moms have in the back of our heads..
Hope your dinner goes well tonight...
Shirlann is "in the middle of the pacific"
So who else is in???
If anyone doesn't want to exchange gifts speak up...
So so far, Sylvia, BMD, Lisa#3, Jeanne, and I have said we will be there.....how about LisaSDCA?? and Susan??
how about everyone else???
-
I can't be there, but will be thinking of you all, and I wish all of you a happy holiday and a great 2009.
Melia
-
Oh, yes - I will be there! And Liz, I'd love to take you up on the offer of a ride down the hill. Thanks!
I've had challenges this week. Starting with my phone line going down in the rainstorm on MONDAY.and they couldn't get anyone out here until mid-day Friday. Just what you want when you're in the middle of applying for, doing phone interviews, and documenting up the hooey. The Soc Sec Disability came through - but it's totally f%#$ed up. Somehow, somewhere a clerk managed to insert that I've got $1400+/mo in unearned income. So that reduces my Disability by a HUGE chunk. And of course, it affects all retroactive monies, affects whether I'm eligible for the CA Premium Payment assistance program - for help with my $658/mo. Kaiser premium - yep, they raised it effective 1/09 - again! They'll spit my application right out because I appear to exceed guidelines - and me with ZERO income!
And then I drove to the wrong facility for my MD appointment on Thursday.
My daughter gently suggested I may need to start writing many of the even small details down - that I can't truly rely on my brain function. Phooey.
And I've got so much swelling in my lower legs that the skin is actually beginning to split open. Can barely walk and can't stand long enough to do my holiday baking.
WHINE WHINE WHINE
Fortunately I'm being treated to a nice dinner on Sat. night so that'll be a needed attitude adjustment. I promise to be over this hissy-fit by time for our lunch.
But I am looking forward to a Margarita (or two!) on Sunday.
Lisa.
-
LisaSDCA-One of those margaritas is on me.
I will be there with a gift to exchange. Sylvia your house at 12:00. It sounds like we all need each other. 1:00 for lunch. Can't wait.
-
I will be there. I may skip the gift exchange though - I hate going shopping the weekend before Christmas!!!
And LisaSDCA - the second margarita is on me. Though if enough of us are drinking, we may be talking pitchers here ...
-
Ok it looks like seven of us will be there...
so the first person there, put our name
on the list...we should probably get a table
for eight ...anyone else I missed??
Lisa SDCA, Lisa#3. Brenda, Sylvia, Susan, Jeanne, and me
Sylvia..is your daughter coming??
-
Oh00sorry Liz--I was supposed to answer you on that..huh! Anyway----no she will not be able to join us---so I guess the number 7 it is---unless somebody else jumps in.....ANYONE know about BDrider? or Nash?
-
My MIL is coming. You guys will love her. I do. That makes 8 for whoever shows up first.
-
Hi, girls, I can't make it today. But have a wonderful time, and best wishes for the holiday season.
-
Well Ladies..here we are once again...ta da ....
It was really good to see everyone...and , of course, we missed all who could not be here
We were our usual rowdy group...oops, I guess I shouldn't say that!!!
We have SoCAl, BMD's MIL, BMD, Guitar Girl, Lisa SDCA, 3boys4me, Jeanne and Sylvia...
We always seem to have fun and tend to business a little...never at a loss for words!!

Love you all, Shirlann
-
Shirl and Nash..we missed you!!!!
Happy Holidays
-
I think I'm going to slit my wrists or something. I look so misshapen and distorted. Just a little over a month ago I could pass... Now I look like something that should hide behind closed doors. And don't even begin to tell me differently.
You guys are the greatest - thanks for the Margaritas and thanks for treating to me to lunch SoCaI.I love you guys but I am not going out in public again!
How discouraging.
Lisa
-
Sounds like you girls had a wonderful time--sorry I missed the gathering and the margaritas.
LisaSDCA--I know how much my mom struggled with how she looked and felt while on steriods--big hugs coming your way.
-
LISA----
I LOOKED AT YOUR EYES AND YOUR HEART....and I see a great person going thru a tough time--
I understand and hear you about wanting to look your best---but we all would hate to miss your great smile and wisdom....
I am saying an extra prayer to my Mother-in-law LOLA tonight to watch over you...remember the "KIEFLI"....

You are all so great. I had so much fun. I must say I had a bit of a headache this evening but those margaritas were so worth it. My MIL was so happy to meet you. She thinks we are a wonderful bunch. Thank you for making her feel so welcome.
LisaSDCA-I was going to call you just now but I am afraid I might wake you. We love you so much. Don't you ever not come out to be with us. Look at how different I look from month to month and I still show up. I know it is not the same but you have to be with us. We are you friends and love you. I can't image not knowing such a warm, wonderful, smart and loving person through these past 2 years. I just wish there was something I could do for you that would help you through. If you refuse to come out we will come to you.
Shirlann-I thought you were on a cruise. You better be with us next month.
Speaking of next month, where and when ladies? How about Today's in Encinitas? We can do a Saturday and the boys can play video games there like last time. Melia what Saturday works for you?
Sylvia-Thanks for driving today. I got to indulge in 2 margaritas.
-
It was so good to see everyone yesterday.
I went to a birthday party last night - 2 other women besides me were breast cancer survivors...
LisaSDCA - you've always got that sparkle in your eye and you are beautiful. You'd best not hide from us!
January 16-19 is MLK weekend so can we schedule our next get together around that weekend as I hope to get the boys up for a ski weekend.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
love to all of you,
Lisa #3
-
Sounds like u guys had a fun time. Kristi
-
Lisa - Lisa#3 said it the way I feel. We should take you out in public and parade you around - you are a fighter - don't let a bit of puffiness keep you from doing what you want.
Another fun lunch guys - can't wait till the next time.
-
I can't do the 10th or the 24th. I just realized the 10th is when dh says he is racing his brothers car and the 24th is a piano recital for the boys.
-
I am busy the 3rd and out of town the weekend of the 17th. Other than that, I have no plans. If we plan a Sat, I am now on my spring schedule of working til 11 am, so can make it pretty much anywhere by noon. If Sundays work better, go ahead and plan that! Whatever is best for the majority is fine with me.
I wish all of you a lovely holiday, with a respite from worries. Stay safe, and hold your families close.
Hugs,
Melia
-
Merry Christmas my faithful friends.
-
We got home today! I was sooo glad to see my dog and cat.
I can come in January, I SWEAR, I miss all you sweet ladies so much.
Love & Kisses and "MERRY CHRISTMAS", Shirlann
-
Well, I vote for a Saturday this time so Melia can come..
So far it looks like noone has crossed out the 31st of January..how about that day??
Personally, I can make any Saturday..
Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays...
Welcome home Shirlann...we missed you....
-
Hello all--January 31,2009---What say you all---can we do Today's Pizza in Encinitas like we did before---Brenda's boys can play and we can chat!?
Merry Christmas to ALL and to ALL a Good Night!!
Sylvia

I goofed. The 31st s the boys piano recital. I would hate to miss a Saturday that the boys could come to (Today's) but what ever works for the majority is the rule. The 17th is actually open for me right now.
-
Well how about the 24th then, so Melia can come...
-
Works for me.
-
me too.....maybe Gretchen too..
