Morning all -
NM - the skill (light dusting) changed overnight to snow covered lawns
Still snowing so this may be around for a while. Then I called my parents in Brunswick, GA and they are still in the 80's - no rhyme or reason, though I wish some of that sunshine was here!
Good to see cami's cat doing exactly what I am wanting to do! No quitters here;)
Have a good week all - Cheers!

Hi Goldie - it's been a hard month (and summer). My MIL passed away last Sunday and we had to say good-bye to our fur baby Mischa on the 3rd. Saw my oncologist for 6 month check up on Friday. Starting on Prolia as soon as insurance approves it. I do read here but don't post often - should get back into the habit.
Tonight starts Rosh Hashanah.
Have a great Sunday and week.
-
Hi again friends- back home, just on site for a few hours this morning. I told the trainer I am not going back this evening but will be on line if he needs my help. After driving back and forth three times (1 hour of driving for two hours of time there each shift), I decided I can opt out this evening. We think we have the majority of the group through the process and they are using the new tool and believe we will be ready for tomorrow to move to part duex. I was able to get to the store for an early morning grocery trip and just ate some spaghetti with meatballs for breakfast, is that wrong?
Karen- I am so sorry to hear of your losses recently. Sending much love and blessings for the holiday now here. Good luck with the Prolia shot, I have been on it for a few years (delayed on my current injection due to stoopid at the onc center), and I started a thread for Prolia a few years back you can hop on to talk about SEs and other questions as you get started. Here it is:
https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/78/topics/827380?page=12#idx_342
Cami- I hope Joey is feeling better by now and appreciated his note. Hope he is enjoying is surprise. When does Les have her surgery? Do you still have all your boyfriends? I love your cat memes, they are just so perfect and funny as heck.
Goldie- October is booked solid on the weekends with weddings, the family visit, and going up north for a break between surgeries end of the month. Early Nov is actually a lovely time of the year to meet up if there is not weather. I know the time change will be then so if we get out there late morning, and then get on the road in good time, we will both be home by dark. Look at your calendar and let me know along with any other thoughts about a meet up then?
NM- I am glad you got your stitches out and that Ms. Sadie inspected things to be sure everything is good with your healing. I hope you continue to feel better. Any foliage your way yet? I remember going to Maine in October for leaf peeping and such a pretty time of the year. Our foliage change (mostly yellows) has started in the mountains with aspens and will continue down here in the valley with the cottonwoods into mid to late October. My gardens look very happy now and been decorating with mums and cool fall pumpkins. Pics coming soon. I love autumn.
Where are all the newbies? Did we scare them off?
On the eyeball front, I think I mentioned briefly I went to the eye doc Friday for my second check up and all is healing well. Still a bit of swelling around the incision site, and it occasionally itches or I have sensation, but no issues with anything greater. I am very disciplined about the drops and doing natural tears in between (why did I not know about these wonderful things before?)
But one really good observation, I was driving in the dark early this weekend to the weekend work, home at night and the first time since the surgery and what an improvement! My night vision was really getting bad and had really bad double vision in my left eye at night that sort of scared me driving home one night. My right eye has a bit of that, but leftie is leading the way and night vision will be good enough until we get the second one done in Nov. Progress! I go back 10/18 for the last check up on leftie, then once I am cleared, I will preparing for rightie.
Okay time to get to some house and yard work. Have a good week everyone. Balloon fiesta starts next Saturday and the fam come the following week!

Jazzy - thanks- I just posted on the thread.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Monday Monkey day! I've been up for almost and hour and the sun is finally coming up. Do not like getting up in the dark. I do have a lamp on a timer, turned it off for the weekend, forgot to turn it back on for today. It's turned on again now. Going to need it tomorrow, need to get an early start, have a CPR class starting at 6:30 am.Sadie says "Woof" to everyone.
Cammy Cat--yeah, it was my crazy hours week last week, but going to have a few more this coming week. But that's OK, Sadie loves me anyway! I like a good thunderstorm, but not if it sneaks up on me! Those really loud claps of thunder are scary. Our furbabies can get so jealous, can't they?
Goldie--Yup, the hand is pretty much healed.I took the stitches out Friday. Going to keep it covered at work for a couple more days just because I'll feel better that way. Neat jacket for DH!Great pics.
Janky--just saw a news item on TV, somewhere they are shoveling a lot of heavy wet snow, I think it 's in New Hampshire but not sure. Supposed to be just rain by the time it gets here.
Karen--hugs. You've been through a rough time.
Jazzy--nothing wrong with spaghetti and meatballs for breakfast, any more than with cold pizza for breakfast! Glad the go live has worked out and is mostly over. The foliage here is just getting into swing, should be full color by the end of October as long as we don't get any wind storms that take all the leaves off before then! So glad to hear the night vision is improving!

Karen, my condolences on the loss of your MIL and Mischa. She was your big doggie, what happened?
Jazzy, will keep November as an option of course. So sweet of you to send Joey a surprise.
NM, glad you liked the idea of a timer on the lamp. Also glad your hand is healing well and no infection.
Colors in the mountains in Utah were starting to turn, saw quite a difference from when we got there til we left.

Good morning, All! I had a great trip to the mountains. We talked and talked about families, work and cancer treatments. Much good food and laughter as well. Only downside is I seem to have caught a cold or cough. Will be medicating today to see if I can nip this in the bud. Let me know if anyone has any proven cures for head colds! Now I have to clean up and get ready to head to the beach for four days. Also will play cards this week with my older group.
Glad things seem to be going well for everyone. Little dips in the road, but all seem to be moving on. It is still really hot here. Going to be 96 degrees with high humidity. Makes being outdoors pretty miserable. My football teams both won this weekend!
Gotta get going! Will walk this morning, then move on to housework. The fun never ends!!!!
-
JCS, don't they have OTC drugs for colds, to get rid of them quickly? Also zinc and vit C. Oh and I have heard Echinacea is good for colds.
What does Echinacea do for Your Body?Echinacea tea is typically considered an immune system herbal enhancement supplement. This tea stimulates the white blood cells, which supports the body in fighting infections and colds.

Mornin ladies,
Lori u sound good, and I pray all tests done come out good. YYYAAAYYY Lori's back, I missed u. Oh and as usual u look beautiful. Those pics are awesome <I can't spell the bigger word I wanted to> I can't even pronounce it. All right how do u actually feel when u come back from camping, I always think it's to much for u, but u never complain.
Karen I always enjoy when u poop in to say hello, but completely follow u on FB.
Jazzy amazing how much better u can see even after one eye. Both of u have had good experiences I always like to hear that. JEEEEZ u've got loads of plans, and I know u;'ll enjoy every one of them. Well maybe not Dr. stuff, but when it's my turn if I get cataracts u will all be reading a whole page of me complaining . See how I get u gals to pray I never have one.
Yes ladies my guys still come by, in fact one of them is stopping by this morning. It's not easy being a sex symbol but it just comes natural for me. A gift and a curse. Yea right. He just left, good coffee.
Kim u always take ur stitches out OUCH, ur so funny and so is sadie. U 2 are such a pleasure for me. And the DOTD are the icing. LOL I do wish I drank something except water and sometimes juice and of course coffee.
Sandy we're supposed to have the next couple of days in the mid 80's, then cooler after. But HUMIDITY, Blah that's what hurts. How's Gordy and Leslie doing, I know I'm nosy, but I like to hear good stuff for our families.
My phones have been going. soooooooooooo have a great Monday everyone.
LUBS U ALL

HAPPY DANCES FOR ALL.

NM - yup we have wet, heavy snow here too, I am waiting for our fabulous fall days - hopefully they come sooner than later
One of the wonderful things about our fur babies, are they love us no matter what - though they do let us know when they are miffed before they snuggle in.
jazzy and cami - the kitties are soo delightful today, and yes - even with only 1 eye done, the sight is better, especially in the dark, I am loving it it and now down to 1 drop twice a day, so not a biggie - I take them just ahead of my meds.
JCS - yes you are having the weird weather warmth that I wish we had - I was chatting with my folks in Georgia and it is still really warm there as well, and in Florida too. Sounds like the mountains were a 'tonic' - I so enjoy friends and talking, talking, talking, about as good as therapy for sure.
goldie - I am going to look into the Echinecea tea as I have terrible problems with getting my white counts up - maybe that will help?!
I too, am wondering where are the newbies? and some of the oldies seem to be unavailable too. Though I guess we all have those days and even weeks, where it is easier to read and savor the comments, but not take part for any number of reasons...I do that too! Well I am now off to my exercise class which, due to the cataract surgery, I have missed for a couple of weeks. I am going to be very careful with what i do. Arghhh, DH did the shovelling and brushed off my van, still not looking forward to walking in the white stuff. Cheers!

L'shana tovah to all!
Karen, so sorry for the loss of both your furbaby & your MIL. May their memories be for blessings.
On the furbaby front here, an unwelcome curveball: the GI doc who did Happy's digestive ultrasound said all looked well but for some mild bowel inflammation, hence the switch to an intestine-friendly chicken-carrot pate wet food (which he likes even better than commercial cat-crack, and even begs for more). But the radiologist's report came in today: definite IBD (kitty-Crohn's?), not mere IBS; which might be idiopathic or just as likely due to (gulp) small-cell lymphoma. Pancreas couldn't be seen on ultrasound (just like with humans, it likes to play hard-to-get), but a small nodule seen on the spleen--though all three vets agree that it's likely just benign "regeneration tissue." Going forward, trying a new even more digestive-gentle diet (rabbit/pea puree wet, hydrolyzed protein kibble), and repeat blood work in 3 weeks. If no markers, then no biopsy necessary--but if there are, he'll need an ultrasound-guided bowel-and-ERCP biopsy, under heavy sedation (he's not a good risk for gas general anesthesia). He'd have to be NPO again the night before, which means a heavier-duty barricade he can't blast open.
And the vet nixed the idea of a visiting vet (whom we've used as both our cat-shrink and home-euthanizer) coming to take the blood sample to spare Happy the trauma of being taken in the carrier to the hospital. He pants and howls "NOOO!!! HOME!!! HELLO!!!" and an eerily close approximation of "I WUV YOU" (which is what I croon to him to calm him down). Gordy posits that he associates the carrier with being taken away from his loving home (first the two millennials who'd adopted him as a newborn directly from a friend's cat's litter--not even weaned yet--and then at 4 weeks had to take him to the vet in a coma after overdosing him with adult flea dip; and then when I adopted him from his foster home at 8 weeks, leaving behind his buddies the foster mom's rat terrier and older protector-cat). All his life he has known only love--especially human--and whenever we put him in the carrier he is terrified nobody will ever love him again. The vet did say that feline lymphoma is very slow-growing and he could live several more years. At 12, he's already well into his senior-"kittizen" years; average domestic cat lifespan is 12-15 yrs. Except for Mishmosh, who died of cardiomyopathy just shy of 8, all of ours lived to 17 & beyond. (Matthew, who had the most health problems, made it to nearly 20). Heidi is 14, and apparently healthier (despite mild obesity).

Greetings all! You can't scare off this newbie haha!! Just like Janky said, I have been reading and savoring comments from afar. I teach, and just two weeks before school started, a new position opened up that my principal offered to me. I accepted, so I have been even busier than usual at the start of the school year teaching a brand new course and grade level for me. I have been jumping on BCO every so often and reading posts, however. It sounds like you all have so much going on with families, pets, surgeries, stitches, snow, etc. My sympathies to you Karen for your recent losses.
Sandy, your posts about your furbaby have really resonated with me. I had a medium-haired black cat (with thumbs!) who we took in as a stray after it was apparent that she was claiming us as her own. I had never had a cat and really hadn't been around any cats, but I just fell madly in love with her. She had always had some digestive issues that eventually required a change in diet and some medicine. Our vet had a difficult time arriving at an official diagnosis, and colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and pancreatitis were all suspected, as was a lymphoma. We were able to manage symptoms for quite some time with diet and probiotics but eventually had to give her medicine to treat symptoms. I hope that you are able to figure out how best to treat Happy. We only had Mittens for about 8 years and I still miss her dearly, but she opened up our hearts to cats and we now have three others (two black; one black and white) that all came to us as strays.
No new drink of the day, but some of the drinks posted here sure have sounded delicious!
Hope you are all well. Just wanted to drop in to the "lounge" and say hello!

Welcomee aboard, SUPer52!
DOTD with steak: 2013 Morgon Cote de Puy.
I found out that while feline IBD or intestinal lymphoma usually present with lethargy, weight loss & anorexia, sometimes an afflicted cat has a ravenous appetite because he can't readily absorb nutrients. Happy has been a voracious eater all his life (whenever we asked, the vet insisted that's normal for a male cat), but only started vomiting this year. His weight has held steady since last year. Since putting him on an intestinal-friendly diet and daily probiotic, he hasn't been vomiting. He is at the upper age limit for diagnosis of either disease (9-13 yrs. old). I did some reading and learned that if it is intestinal lymphoma, he will need prednisone and oral chemo. (And it's not cheap--at least $3K for a full course of it--and the prognosis for remission is 3 yrs., with further remissions possible with repeat courses of chemo). Feline lymphoma (even the small-cell intestinal kind) is often associated with FeLV and FIV--but he was tested for and vaccinated against those diseases, and has never gone outdoors except in his carrier to visit the vet. He couldn't have caught it from Heidi (14): she also tested FELV- and FIV- when she was rescued as a kitten (before we adopted her), and got vaccinated against them too. She, too, has no desire to escape (unlike all my former kitties), associating going outdoors with getting injured in fights which was the condition in which she was originally rescued.

Hi all 😀
No drinks yet, I’m saving up for Friday. It’s DH’s birthday but he’s on tour, it’s also my local bestie/former “work husband”’s birthday too and he’s got a party bus to take a group of us to dinner and drinks. I’ll be posting pics!

Cami, you sex symbol! How is Joey feeling? I feel just fine when coming home from camping. We will be off again mid October. This time to Ohio to visit with my DH mother. When she lived in TN we each had our own room to sleep. Her new place only has one extra bedroom and her spare bed is only a full size. Wich really isn't big enough for the both of us. So he said about half way through the visit, we will go to a hotel!
Sandy, I love some of the terms you use. Cat crack...lol. Hoping all goes well for Happy. I can't imagine that vet bill.
Janky, I may try some of that Echinacea too. My counts are ok, but on the low side of normal. And of course a boost in imune system is always good for us.
SUP, hi and welcome. We welcome all and would never scare someone off. I think people pop in and then just feel that perhaps it's not for them. We just like to keep things light, but still offer our support when it's needed. We are quite a small group.
Illimae what fun, a party bus!
We are off to the hospital today (not for me this time) DH is having a stress test. I swear he is a hypochondriac. All the things he thinks is wrong with his self, and everything always comes back that he's fine. Men!!!!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Twofer Tuesday! Spent a good part of yesterday at work figuring out my work schedule for the rest of the week. Craziness trying to get all the CNAs who need to be CPR certified into a class. So now I am working regular hours today and tomorrow, 3 pm to 11 pm Thursday, and Friday 11 pm to Sat 3 am.But that gets everyone on the evening and night shifts certified and that's a big step forward. Then there will just be a few day shifters, and those are easier to set up. I was explaining the work schedule to Sadie last night, she was not impressed until I mentioned treats for the odd hours days, and maybe taking her in with me on the overnight. She pricked her ears up a bit at that!
Cammy Cat--Must be nice being a sex symbol for so many guys! Yup, I take my own stitches out. I figure If I can take them out of other people, I can take them out of me!A little harder to not be able to use 2 hands, but I got the job done.
Goldie--It was someone her in the Lounge that suggested putting a lamp on a timer--Jazzy, maybe? Whoever, THANK YOU, it works really well! Much easier to get up when I'm already half awake from the lamp coming on.
Librarian--I'm a believer of the zinc products for cutting the duration of a cold. My personal favorites are the powders that you can mix with hot water.I also mix EmergenC with hot water to manage a sore throat.
Janky--Yup, the fur babies are very good at communication! And very good at keeping the bed warm on chilly nights, too!
Chi--oh no, poor Happy! I can see where he would associate the carrier with negative things. Glad the possible bad news is slow news, at least. Praying for better results than that, though.
Super--I did not know that kitties could get bowel diseases like humans! The things I learn here! Sorry about Mittens.
Morning, Illi!
-
NM, it was me that suggested the timer for the lamp. We use one when we go away so it looks like someone is home. We also have a light that mimicks a tv being on through a drape or shade.
Oh my, those are some cray cray hours. Meese tinks you will be one tired gal by the end of the week!
-
Mornin ladies,
Hi Super glad u came in hope u come back and I'm another cat lover. The first one by chance and that's all I needed. I miss my cats terribly.
Oh Sandy I hate to hear about poor Happy but I do know u give Happy the best care anyone could so I feel good about that. Oh my cats could never even look at the carrier without hiding. I agree with Gordy I always adopted and they saw that thing and who knows what it meant to them but leaving and maybe never coming back. I had a Dr. too when I lived alone that came to the house and they would not get as figgity and I'd feel better.
Illi sounds like a fun weekend. A BUS wow drinks will be flowing and hopefully pics. to follow Should we count down til the weekend.
Janky how much snow do u have. Holy chit. Oh I love being with friends and family and I'm a talker. We used to talk all night and make breakfast in the morning. Then sleep and start all over again. And wonder how could we not run out of things to say, yet we never did.
Kinda quiet in here, but I have a QUESTION if ur red things in ur blood are OK and ur white are low <like u gals> what is that all about, can u get that count up by urself??? I don't have that I was just wondering. I've told u gals I'm a word for word type of person. I know I'm a PITA, everybody tells me that. Doesn't stop me tho.
Well I'm back to watching Golden Girls I always liked this show <and I wasn't a senior> but then got tired of it. Now I watch it all the time. Oh yes I'm such a fun person. Well it's only Tuesday, it's true tho there is no feel for a Tuesday but just blah, oh well. I't supposed to be hot again today, we'll see, I just hope it doesn't stay real summery then 2 days of wind taking the leaves then snow, oh it's happened before.
I'm blabbering again, so I'll stop myself for ur sake.
LUBS U ALL

OK I just read what I missed, cuz it takes me so long. Kim those are cray hours this week and u said Sat. too, u've got lotsa making up to sadie for this week, I don't blame her.And wow ur a hard worker, but I like the DOTD.
He Lori ur way to quiet, U OK???
-
Scroll up Cami! This is my 3rd post this morning. Posted pictures yesterday and posted...Ms PITA! Of course you know I'm kidding! Mese loves ya!

Chi- my sister had a cat with that intestinal lymphoma and it is a really bad one. My sister, although dearly loves her pets, is usually a big procrastinator when they start having serious problems. She had mentioned to me about Cisco having chronic diarrhea for awhile and was just dealing with that every day at home.
Then in August of 2017 was out visiting her, and while she was at work, he was outside with me and saw how bad things were for him. He was a big cat, 20 pounder, but under 10 lbs at that point. I remember him coming over to me and saw the look in his eye and knew he was very sick and looking for help.
So when my sister got home from work I hard lined her (as we sisters sometime do with each other) and said this cat is very sick, you need to take him to the cat now or I will. She took him in and he was diagnosed with that disease and was gone a month later.
Hugs to everyone with their fur-babies and their problems
-
My sister sent this funny pic this morning as she went in to work. Do they look sad or what ?
-
Jazzy, I think we've caught Happy's intestinal problems early--no diarrhea, he's as cuddly and rambunctious as ever. Not losing weight...yet. If we get a handle on this quickly the vet thinks he has 2-3 yrs of remission ahead--and after a second course of treatment maybe another year. (If all it is is IBD, we still have to watch his bloodwork to make sure it doesn't become lymphoma).
I am transitioning his food from the chicken-based Hill's "i/d" to the Royal Canin rabbit-pea-based "select protein" formula--tonight I mixed half and half and he seemed to like it. (Not sure about the new hydrolyzed soy protein kibble to which we're switching him--mixing equal parts of it and his Purina Senior Indoor). It seems like a million years ago--instead of 3 weeks--that they were both tucking into Friskies, 9 Lives, Blue Buffalo, Sheba and 365 Organic wet food after we ran out of Heidi's Royal Canin Urinary SO Moderate Calorie, which she detested because it was chunks in gravy--we had to mash it up or she wouldn't touch it. She's on the Hill's paté version now and grudgingly eats it at every other feeding--I have to warm it up, season it with catnip and probiotic, and bury treats in it. Her finickiness is due partly to being a little princess and partly to fear (justified) that Happy will chase her away to eat it (I let him eat her crumbs now that I know why he's so ravenous--I'm hoping to keep his weight steady and get enough nutrients into his little system). For awhile, his kibble was Rachel Ray Nutrish, but when that Chinese additive scare surfaced I stopped feeding it to him and switched back to Purina. I'm haunted by the thought that the Nutrish may have contributed to his IBD and perhaps lymphoma.
Hoping the massive storms we're having don't short out the garage electric supply line--Bob has a long day tomorrow and getting from the West Loop (where his Union Health gig is) to his office out by Midway and then home would be frightfully expensive even via Uber or Lyft. And that's assuming he doesn't have to visit any hospitals or nursing homes. Meanwhile, I was sitting there guarding Heidi's food as she ate when my wrist started buzzing like crazy--just like the signal I get when my watch thinks I've fallen. I looked at and saw the emergency alert--flash flood warnings in low-lying areas. Then every mobile device in the house (both iPads, both our phones) began beeping with the same warning.
Well, if I was second-guessing the Glenview Park District's decision to cancel Sunday's Grove Folk Festival (b'bye, several hundred bucks) due to flooding on part of the grounds, despite a clear forecast for Sunday, I'm a believer now. The park abuts the Desplaines River--'nuff said. I am devoutly grateful to be four big blocks (slightly uphilll) away from Sheridan Rd., with high-rises between it and the beach. Used to wish I were closer, but not now. We've already lost half our north side beachfronts due to rising lake levels, but the high-rise condo buildings themselves--at least the subterranean garages--are in danger. Last time it stormed and flooded like this it was 1987, and our temple's main sanctuary took on a few inches of water. (It's on the lake, with a mini-beach off the parking lot). Good thing Rosh Hashonah services ended yesterday. Hope things dry out by Yom Kippur. (There's an online livestream service from the Nashuva congregation in L.A., which I've watched occasionally when housebound on Yom Kippur--hope we don't have to resort to that this year).
DOTD tonight with leftover roast chicken: Jean Paul 2018 Gascogne dry rosé. Wish I'd had some last night, when it was 90F.

Mornin Ladies,
Chit I totally wasn't here yesterday, I thought I was, Boing. My niece came over for my shower today and we talked about 3 hrs. So it was a long session, and the day flew by.
OK Lori I saw the pics as usual u always look so good. The cameras like u or the phones do. And I had to put that pic. up cuz a couple of u have seen Joey a few yrs. ago when I towered over him. Lori these yrs. have gone so fast and I still member u trying to teach me some stuff on the puter and I still haven't learned. And Jazzy was so kind to send Joey an autographed music thing from a concert she went to and he still is playing the clarinet so he really appreciated it., And when Dara came Joey and her played a duet and she sent him a flute which he still practices on. Oh and he's sick again, that kid.
My kids r going to a wedding Saturday nite so Joey and I have our alone nite so we'll watch a scary movie and dinner. See the fun I'm having.
Everything's pretty quiet around here this week. Next week Marty gets his tonsils out, LOL I can''t help it. And I haven't slept yet out of Xanax and can't fill til Sat. Love these rules.
well I'll poop in later and see what happening.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Thirsty Thursday! Sorry to miss yesterday, but I just could not drag my butt out of bed until the very last minute, I was so tired. Not sure why, went to bed early, slept pretty well, but just did not want to move when the alarm went off. Sadie and I were so warm and comfy. Got a PCP appointment this ayem--routine physical, flu shot, nothing exciting, then working 3 to 11 peeyem teaching CPR. Tomorrow I get to sleep in, and go to work in the evening and teach CPR to the overnight crew. It'll probably take all weekend to get myself straightened around again! Sadie would say Hi to everyone but she's curled up in the recliner snoring.
Goldie--the timer for the lamp works really, really well! Thanks for the idea!
Cammy--Golden Girls is a great show. I watch it sometimes, and I'm not a big sitcom fan. That one at least was funny most times without being crude. Yeah, this week's hours area bit crazy, but that's what it takes to make sure our residents are getting the best care. I don't mind toomuch, I just make sure to schedule things so I can catch up on my sleep and aren't getting too tired out, especially now that flu season is here.
Jazzy--oh, my, how hard for you to be the one to hardline your sister. Someone needs to do that, though, sometimes. Aw, poor fur babies!
Chi--sounds like you caught your baby's problems early, and have a plan to get and keep them under control. And I'm glad you are safe from flooding, too.
Cammy--So sorry to hear that Joey is sick again! Not bad, I hope. All those drug rules are really only creating problems for the people who legitimately need the medications, and aren't stopping the misusers from getting them. Such a pain in the anatomy.
Last Call to Porter
- 1 oz. Knob Creek Bourbon
- 1/2 oz. Green Chartreuse
- 1/2 oz. Benedictine
- Porter beer
Shake up the hard liquor until it's fit to burst. Strain into a coupe glass, then flood the mix with your favorite porter beer (Katie recommends Milwaukee's own Mudpuppy Porter). Don't drink it in a basement.
