how about drinking?

Good morning all! Had a pretty quiet weekend. Somehow I did not understand the problem with not getting the Neulasta patch. My WBC count will continue to go down for the next several weeks. And there seems to be nothing anyone can do about it. I bought some Emergen-C, but have not taken it as I am not sure if it will interfere with chemo. I keep looking for something I can do/eat that will help. The thought of staying inside for day after day is driving me crazy! I have laid in a supply of hand sanitizer and wipes, but am not that excited about wearing a mask in public. The attention from that is worse than not having hair and makes me want to stay home. I need a project or something to do at home to keep me from going crazy. Oh bother, I am not going to obsess over it.
Love the pictures, Jazzy. NM, hope this week is better for you! I am going to make a smoothie, then walk three miles, then do laundry. Have a few other chores to round out the day. Trying to stay busy so I don’t go crazy.

Hi friends- I hope everyone had a good Funday Sunday and are ready for the new week. I have things together to have a better week and with all the extra doc apt, had a lot of long days with work stuff and was just worn out and hit every which way with things. I am working on asking friends for rides today for the eye surgery date and have lots to do on that front this week. But I will be focused on eating well, getting plenty of rest and some exercise.
Goldie- thank you for your good wishes. Right now I am not sure if I can make any commitments to getting together. I have a lot going on into Sept with some plans for Labor Day, the surgery and who knows what else. My nephew is here in October too, god willing. So let me get through some things and can let you know?
How is your DD doing BTW?
NM- not too thrilled about the way this is playing out. I had all this bc imaging stuff scheduled to be done in mid July and then my apt with her got pushed out over 3 weeks and then there there was something to discuss. I assumed letters in the mail saying you were good meant you are good and that they would have called sooner if they were wanting more? Ugh. Anyways, I will finish going through the testing and hope everything is okay and then can leave this to move on to my scheduled surgery. The further I get away from the initial news, and the lack of urgency, the more I just think I am going to be okay. I will let you guys know.
Sorry your picnic got cancelled, but it sounds like you needed some downtime yesterday sister. I love the days when I can stay in my PJs all day.
Cami, Janky, Chi, Mistyeyes, Muddling, Teka, and everyone else, thinking of you and which you a good week. The news says it going to be very hot across the country today (still in the high 90s here, ugh again.)

Mornin' ladies,
I'M YELLING HERE---JAZZZZY STAY OFF THE INTERNET. I know everyone tends to use it but it just puts so much clutter in ur mind that doesnt have to be there. No matter what u know it won't make any difference except to cause worry. U r a strong woman and I know in my heart u will be fine, I just hate that u have to go thru anything at all,
JC it really has to be hard to have "rules" to follow about going out or anything that u like doing. Ur going thru a lot of crap now but it won't always be this bad just please do what u have to to feel better. But u did do a lot yesterday, just slow down a bit. We all want u to feel good.
OK Illi if I could pull that drink out of the pic. I would. I don't blame Kim for using it as a DOTD everyday.
Lori I'm always glad when u get home. But how is ur DD? u didn't mention her. It probably means she must be doing OK, but we still need to know.
Jazzy that pic. is amazing, u have so much talent in so many things.
Kim sorry it rained but u had a good day with Sadie and I always like that. She'll love going Friday with u so next weekend will start off good.
Ok Sandy I know what u mean now about the glove. U r so vigilant about everything u do and how u take care of things that happen right away.
I went to my cousins house yesterday, first time since she's passed away.. Her husband wanted everyone over and it was nice 9 kids under 5, but they were all good. and so cute. They all left around 6pm and the older ones stayed till around 9pm. Super Sunday but now so tired. Dan hired another man that starts today I get so nervous there are s many men now and it is our slow time, oh well
Have a good Monday

That glove is a royal pain—I’ve taken instead to using a little finger guard thingy with a ring on the back that slips over my middle finger (symbolism?) and protects my knuckles as I bend them under. Should the knife or food slip, my fingers wouldn’t be exposed. Saving the glove for holding slippery stuff (found my avocado tool—and promptly nicked a cuticle on the pit-remover portion...sigh).
Weigh-in today: down 13 lbs. since diet started (28 since I made the appointment), and lost 2-1/2” off my waist. Down 2 BMI #s too—2 more and I will be “overweight” rather than “obese.” The bariatric NP is delighted. She asked me why I went full-keto the last few days, and I explained about the wine pairing dinner.
-
Good morning, Loungettes!Happy Twofer Tuesday! Dinner with Mom after work today, then up VERY early tomorrow ayem for classes starting at 5 ayem. Going to be a long day, last class starts at 6 peeyem. Sadie is going to be unhappy with me! But I'll get to sleep in a bit Thursday. Might take her to work with me on Friday, will have to see how it goes.
Goldie--sounds like you had a nice trip! All the smoke must have been scary to see.So many fires burning right now. I think it's wonderful the shelter has a cemetery for the animals. Nice to see that they care. Good luck to your DH!
Librarian--It must be so hard to be so isolated and stuck at home for so long. Don't stay inside, you need to get outside for your mental health if no other reason. And even staying inside at home doesn't guarantee you won't be exposed to something, unless you have a quarantine sign up and no one ever comes to the door and nothing comes into the house, not even mail! Hang in there, we're all in your (virtual) pocket.
Jazzy--you'd think letters in the mail that "all is well" would mean that all is well, not just be an automatic mailing by a computer that has no relevance to the actual test results. That would make me so angry. I did enjoy the downtime Sunday. It was nice to have a day without something going on. Sadie and I did enjoy the day.
Cammy At--cute wine kitteh! So nice you could get together with the family.9 kids under 5, that must have been hilarious! I think it's good that Dan is bringing someone new on during a slow time, gives him more time to teach the new guy.
Chi--Congrats on the weight loss!

JCS, so sorry you are having so many issues with your treatment and blood counts. This all just sucks! PERIOD!
Jazzy, I figured as much with our get together. I want you to take care of YOU. We will keep it on the back burner. It will happen one day!
Cami, 9 kids under 5? I would be in my glory! Glad they were all good. And now you have another man in your life! You lucky woman you.
Oh geeze Sandy, you nicked your cuticle now. Maybe you need to give up avacados!!! Awesome news on the weight loss.
NM, those are some early classes, holy cow. Enjoy your dinner with mom. Sadie will eventually forgive you. I have some pictures on my phone, just need to get them off.
I hadn't talked to my DD until yesterday. She is doing good but said she hadn't called me as she has been so busy. I didn't like that, I'm afraid she is doing too much and I told her that....AGAIN! She said she is being very careful and not lifting anything. We are still having mid 90 temps and even triple digits in late afternoons. My poor garden is not doing well at all. I think I have lost 5 or 6 tomatoes, my zucchini and squash are being destroyed by squash bugs, I just can't keep them under control. None of my canteloupe or watermellon did anything, same with the cukes. Bean plants grew, but no beans on them. I am so bummed, it's just been too hot I guess.
-
Mornin' ladies,
First and foremost CONGRATULATIONS Sandy, loosing weight is a big deal and with everything u had u made it sound easy.Ah new clothes time. Many women love to shop so if u do u'll have lots of fun. I hate it personally. Leslie and Joey both love it, she always did and Joey too. My mom and sister were another 2. They could spend the day in Yorktown so easily.
Oh Kim u got lots of 'splainen to do to Sadie for tomorrow. U'd better take her with friday, she enjoys that so much plus she gives so many people joy So many people now are pet lovers and really get happy to see a friendly furbaby, and that's what sadie is. The DOTD looks yummy today.
It's funny every so often someone poops in here to tell us how goofy we are and I think u have no idea how we have bonded so much and this is a great thread for any stage. And one more for the road, as long as we don't drive, right???
Lori Hoping everything went well with ur DH and of course ur DD.
And Jazzy ur another one that has to keep us up to date.
JC I hope ur doing OK, Misty, muddling, Illi Janky, hope I didn't forget anyone. And of course Teka I know ur out there LOL. Lori have u heard from SusyQ, it's been a while since she's pooped in.

Good morning all! ChiSandy - Great news on the weight loss. You are so strong and dedicated to your regime. I admire your ability to see things through until the end. I am going to try and imitate you with some lifestyle changes for myself. My DH and I walk every other day. On the off day I will do about 15 minutes of exercises. Stretches, weights, toning, etc. I am tracking my eating so I can try to get more fruits and veggies into my diet. During afternoon ‘quiet time’, I am practicing mindful meditation. Hopefully this along with my regular chores will keep me busy and focused.
Today, I do have to get out for a bit. Need to get a baby shower present and maybe just drive around. Will go out to dinner with family tonight to celebrate my birthday last week. MO said that was ok! Then a lunch with friends tomorrow. I have hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes in my pocket book. Just cannot bring myself to wear a mask.
Still really hot here and no rain. We hear thunder, but no raindrops. Next week the highs are to be in the high 80’s. Yippee!
-
Sorry about the garden Goldie. My former boss said she lost hers too, all of it between early season flooding and this heat, bummer, I loved when she’d bring me bags of veggie goodies.
Hello to all. Just doing my gym routine this week and taking care of DH who has some intestinal issues with pain, off to the doc soon to figure it out.
-
Hi All,
Mae, I hope your DH will feel better soon.
Thanks for the greetings. I'm reading but don't have anything to say. Odd for me.
-
Lori, bummer about the garden--it's so frustrating to work so hard only to have weather issues or critters mess it up.
JCS, the diet is the easy part--hydration & exercise more problematic. Hydration because I just don't feel like drinking 1/2 a gallon of water every day; exercise because I have the Left Foot From Hell: bunion, bunionette, hammer toe, elongated third toe with painful callus (that my pedicurist can't make a dent in), pain beneath fourth & fifth toes when walking, intermittent top of foot/ankle pain (the return of the cuboid syndrome/stress fx. I had 10 yrs ago?), and multiple stubbed & broken toes over the years. I filled out my health system's appointment request form for a podiatrist; but given the patient portal track record for making online appts., I'll probably have to call.
Cami, that kitty is adorable. Heidi (my little black princess) was a very naughty girl Monday. She slept in the bed with me (first atop my chest, then on a pillow alongside me). When I got up, I felt something wet & slimy by her pillow, adjacent to my PJ top....two black hairballs, still warm. (I sleep wearing earplugs--originally to block out snoring, but now even when I sleep alone at home or on the road; so I didn't hear her retch up her hairballs). I picked them up in a tissue, flushed them down the toilet, and threw my PJs in the hamper. To my utter horror, though, there was also blackish (her hair) vomit on the pillowcase and the duvet--had to pretreat with micellar water (it happened to be on my sink, and I figured if it'll take off waterproof mascara it'll work on kitty puke stains) before putting them in the hamper too. Fortunately, we had two other twin comforters, so we used those last night. (My housekeeper now takes off Mondays, to take her DH to the V.A. hospital for his weekly iron infusions, and it always seems we have kitty vomit, storm damage, or broken glasses or humongous spills on her days off. Hard to remember that until Gordy was born, we never had any household help other than once calling Mighty Maids for a deep-cleaning).
I couldn't fall asleep last night (despite waiting till 2 am), because I was afraid Heidi would give me some more "presents;" but I didn't have the heart to shut her out of the bedroom after 14 yrs. of cuddling with me. I had to take a CBN capsule at 4 am (the CBD wasn't enough), and when it knocked me out, it really knocked me out: I didn't wake up till after 1 pm (and only because my full bladder interrupted an interesting dream). So much for going to the lab for a fasting a1c and lipid panel--I hadn't eaten in 16 hrs. and I needed my coffee too. Trying again tomorrow--this time I'll take the CBN and CBD together. I have to go to the dispensary for the CBN, and it's not cheap (although it is half the price of the Dexilant--even the Canadian stuff I got online--I must take for GERD). But good sleep is precious.
-
Cami, my DD is doing ok. I had posted right above you. And yes, this is an awesome thread with awesome ladies.
JCS, are you having to be careful because of chemo?
Illimae, it about makes me sick about the garden. It's not easy work and all the watering and fertilizing. I do have some tomatoes to can today, but it probably won't yield but about 5 pints. I hope DH is ok, and just dealing with a bug.
Sandy, I agree about hydrating and exercise, but I don't exercise due to pain, I'm just not into it! Sorry about the painful foot.
NM, did you make it to dinner with your mom? Where did ya's go?
Hmmmm, quite afternoon yesterday.
-
Look at the cake my DIL made for my birthday! I asked her to make a peach cake with cream cheese frosting. The cake had four layers with homemade peach preserves in between the layers. It was fantastic!
Had dinner at our favorite restaurant last night. We were so disappointed! Had to wait 20 minutes even though we had reservations. The waitress was frazzled and confused about our selections. The food was blah where in the past it had always been great. Guess it is time to find another favorite restaurant.
Today I am going to lunch to celebrate a work friend that is retiring. After that I will drop off a baby gift for the young lady that used to cut my hair. Will probably spend the rest of the afternoon sanitizing. LOL! I go to the MO on Monday and will get my white blood cell count checked. Based on that number, he will decide whether or not I will have chemo on Friday 8/30. Who knew that not getting the Neulasta patch would have such long term consequences!?
-
ChiSandy- congrats on the weight loss, that is impressive! You go girl!
Goldie- I am sorry about the gardens, I know you look forward to all the canning you do around this time of the year
JCS- sorry you are having problems with the blood work. Take good care of yourself. Your DIL really loves you and put a lot of work into that beautiful cake. I love peach anything.......
Cami- your cat pictures get me through the week!
I messaged my PCP yesterday and got her help to get this biopsy scheduled. She is on it. Got some better information from her too about the US report and findings she received. Probably will have the test done by early next week and hopefully not have to wait too long for results. I am moving along with all my to -dos for my eye surgery in Sept.
-
Jazzy, hope you get the biopsy done soon, the results are good, and that it doesn't interfere with cataract surgery (which while minor surgery results in a major life improvement).
JCS, I'm drooling over that cake!!!
-
JCS, that cake looks amazing! Sorry about the favorite restaurant, maybe they got a new cook? Hope your counts are good for your treatment.
Jazzy, continued prayers for you that all will be ok.
I managed to get 5 pints of tomatoes. My brother started growing tomatoes last year. This year he tried one that is called Abraham Lincoln. He sent me a picture, it's huge and weighed 2.5 pounds!
-
Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy TGIF day! Going to be a short day for me, I think, I still need to add up my hours so far and see where I'm at. Sadie will be happy to have me home early.
Goldie--would you believe that, even with starting classes at 5 am, and having 11 classes throughout the day, with the last one at 6 peeyem there were complaints that classes didn't start early enough and there weren't enough classes?2 ayem was the requested class time!I'm seriously considering scheduling a couple of 2 am classes and see if anyone actually shows up just to call their bluff! But I did get a much better turn out than for past classes. Too bad about your garden, maybe it will produce later when the temps start moving down? Here in Maine everything is at least 2 weeks behind due to the cold, wet spring and then the sudden arrival of hot, dry summer. I hope DD is being careful, and glad to hear she's doing well.
Cammy Cat--I think I will take Sadie to work with me today. She needs a trip out, and it will be fun having her with me!
Librarian--paying attention to keeping your hands off your face while you are out will be just as good as wearing a mask. The vast majority of viruses are picked up on our hands and then get onto our mouth or nose when we touch our faces rather than by inhaling them. You could protect yourself by bringing back the old fashion of wearing gloves, too! No skin touching public doorknobs, light switches, or other public surfaces would go a long way toward cutting down on the transmission of lots of illnesses!
Illi--hope DH feels better soon!
Morning, Muddling!
Chi--adding my congrats on the weight loss!Good work!Sorry to hear about the foot issues, hope the portal doesn't fail you.Oh my goodness, what an experience with the kitty barfs! Good sleep truly is precious, I'm glad you've got a regimen that works well foryou.
Goldie-- I did make it to dinner with Mom, we went to Olive Garden. We both brought home enough for another meal, except we split one dessert so none of that was left over!
Librarian--fantastic cake! Sorry the restaurant wasn't up to par. So sad when that happens. Maybe it was a one day thing?
Jazzy--glad to hear things are moving. Praying for B9 results.
Goldie--5 pints of maters?Wow! A 2.5 pound tomato? What on earth does one do with a tomato of that size?????
Rickey Tomato
Makes 1 drink
3 ripe cherry tomatoes
1½ ounces gin
¾ ounce St-Germain
1 ounce Dolin Blanc vermouth
Pinch of sea salt
Muddle the cherry tomatoes in a cocktail tin. Add all of the other ingredients and ice. Shake until chilled and double strain into a glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a cherry tomato and a sprig of cilantro.

Mornin' ladies,
Kim glad to hear Sadie's coming with u today. 2AM??? Kim don't give them a chance, u'll be stuck so, just start at usual time, it's early enough.Glad u had dinner with ur mom and Olive garden has the best soup and salad than anywhere.
Sandy sorry about LOLing about ur cat, I have lived with that so I know. And I too agree with all the regime u go thru, but I'm with Lori about exercise I'm happy I can walk as much as I do. Just to much pain.
Illi how's ur DH???
JC ur DIL must really care about u that cake looks amazing. I wouldn't have done that for any of my MIL's.
Ah Lori ur garden. I'm sorry I know how u luv it and all u do with it. I thought we'd see the big tomato, tho. I'm glad to hear about ur DD.
Jazzy get these tests over with. And u know I pray it will all be fine and onward for ur eyes.
Well I'm still in the house of doom, <also known as the ER special> I'm fine with all my tests now but they will "watch it" What "it" is they can go and watch all they want, just leave me out of it. And u all know my DD has to have another operation, they'll schedule it next week and now Marty will have another operation which will be in the next 2 weeks. Of course when Marty told me I started LOLing and then he started LOLing, Yea good thing they have me. Well his throat is closing up and it's his tonsils, so they have to come out. I know at this age it's really different, but this is Marty who always has everything unusual. So more operations around here.
Hope everyone has a great weekend....feel good.

Thanks ladies, DH is ok, pain is minimal now but the poor guy is still backed up, he’s tried everything but it slow going.
We’re off to Fort Worth now to buy a new truck, then a fishing trip with friends tomorrow 🙂🎣

Hi friends- went to get my left eye measured this morning for the new lens and got a few other things done. Outside of paying one other co-insurance, I am feeling very ready for surgery number one on left eyeball in mid Sept. The surgery center has provided a lot of good up front info to know what to expect and how to prepare. i am very process oriented in thought with my work, so it really works for me. We are working now on deciding a good date for eyeball #2, which will be in the mid Nov-Dec time frame.
I have not had call yet from the pathology center about getting the thyroid biopsy done. Been four days since the order went in and the plan was to get this done by early next week. Doubt that will happen. I plan to call later today to the PCP office to follow up to find out when I should expect a call from them, The wait, hurry up, now wait leaves me dazed and confused.
It's really hot here still, upper 90s and usually not in this place in late August. I doubt I am alone. Very worried about the burning Amazon right now too.
Ill- good luck with the truck buying. Have some good BBQ while you are up in Ft Worth.
Cami- you are in the ER? What is "it" they are watching? I am sorry to hear about Les and Marty needing more surgery. You and Goldie have had more than your fair share this year.
NM- we had a spring a lot like you, abnormally cool into June and then BAM! July and August have been too hot. By now, it's usually cooling towards fall but not yet. I am ready for the heat to go. Sadie is such a great dog and misses you when you are not around. I hope you can take her swimming this weekend!
Goldie- thank for the good thoughts. Glad to hear your DD is coming along and good advice to help her know to not overdo.
JCS- how are things going for you? And more importantly, how was that cake?
Gotta finish my work week. Everyone have a good weekend. Last full weekend of August already, the summer is going FAST.....
-
Hello all! Hope everyone has had a good week. I had a surprise visit from my 85 yr old Aunt and her daughter. They were traveling from Atlanta to my cousin’s home in Maine. My Aunt is the last relative from my parents generation. She is active and has all of her mind. Hopefully she will be around for much longer.
Jazzy - I had my cataracts repaired (?) about two years ago. Best thing I ever did! Other than the many drops daily, there were no other problems. I could see better right away.
NM-No way should you do a training at 2:00am!!!! Is this because the traineesare working the night shift? Couldn’t you do it the last hour of their shift?
Lori - Sorry about the garden. Heat and critters would be formidable enemies.
I did get tired of being at home, so DH and I took a road trip to a state park in the upcountry of SC today. We hiked for a bit, then had lunch at a local pub. I talked him into going to an art gallery and we spent an hour talking to the owner about guitars and seeing some he had built. Then we went to the only covered bridge in SC. Dodged showers all the way home.
Tomorrow is supposed to be stormy so I will sit in my nest, read and nap. Sounds like fun!
-
Jazzy, your cataract surgery schedule (Sept, Nov.) was exactly the same as mine 3 years ago. One thing I found immensely helpful was to enter my various eyedrops into my online calendar (I have a Mac, iPhone & iPad, so the calendar shows up in all three devices). That way I knew exactly which drops to start, when to take them, and when & how to wean off them. (The steroid drop is the hardest to wean off, because it feels so good). These surgeries are usually done in early morning (and you'll be NPO after dinner the night before), so be sure to treat yourself to a good breakfast afterward (someone else'll be driving you, right?). After my R one I went to a Polish pancake house/diner near the surgi-center; after the L, to Chuck's Southern Comfort for a tasso-andouille omelet. No alcohol until your ophthalmologist gives you the green light. And especially out there in the Southwest, wear those wraparound over-shades they'll give you whenever you're out in bright light. (I still keep a pair in my car for when my Transitions glasses don't get dark enough because car windows filter out much of the UV that normally turns the lenses dark).
Speaking of surgery, Cami, so sorry about Marty having to go back in for a tonsillectomy. I see many a vanilla malted (or giant dishes of Culver's) in his near future. I had mine out at age 7, and to this day I'm not crazy about vanilla ice cream because I associate it with tonsillectomy.
I got rattled yesterday when I got the results of my lipid panel--except for my total cholesterol, which went down a few points, everything has been worse on this near-keto diet. I darn near lost it when I read the NP's suggestion to "limit saturated fats like steak, chicken skin, cheese, bacon, sausages, smoked and cured meats, cream, egg yolks and whole milk." And she also said I'd lose faster if I give up berries! Nuh-unh. This diet will not work if I have to resort to skinless chicken breast (the cottage cheese of the new millennium), dry pork tenderloin, fish, nuts, egg whites, nuts, olives & nut butters, plus green leafies. I told her as much and she backed off and said to retest in 2 months at my next appointment.
Then I messaged my primary care doc, and he replied the results "don't set off any alarms." He said in his experience, keto or near-keto diets can cause HDL to drop (mine went from 84 to 53!) and LDL & triglycerides to spike (sometimes as high as 400) until at least 10% of initial weight has been lost (not there yet) and usually settle out to normal at about 20-25 lbs. down. He also said he was much happier about my a1c than concerned about my lipids, and to just keep up the good work and not change anything in my diet or add back krill oil. He calculated my Framingham score as 3: a 3% chance of having a CV "event" over the next 10 years (much lower chance than of having a serious fracture). He did say, however, that ER+ bc notwithstanding, a small daily glass of a good red wine would help. (Disclaimer: he's from Sonoma).
Bob got home early enough to go to dinner (but not early enough to keep my first choice of restaurant reservation), so for old time's sake we went up to Froggy's in Highwood, "our" French restaurant for longer than Gordy's been around. Our first meal there was our 9th anniversary in 1980! Yes, I did cheat a little--but mostly ate around the starch & sugar (traded my crab cake & mushroom ravioli to Bob for his seared ahi & salmon sausage). Had a Marquis de la Tour blanc de blancs for my aperitif & with the appetizer; with my entree, a Chilean meritage. Bob was going to finish with a Remy VSOP, but I saw a small producer's "Grande Champagne" (the best area of Cognac) XO for only $4 more. I didn't taste it but the aroma was wonderful (and gave me a contact high).
Got some pet CBD oil for the kitties (very mild, practically placebo). The shop suggested starting with 1/4 dropper for each, but I dialed it back down to 3-4 drops apiece. They wouldn't touch it plain, but when I put food atop it and garnished with catnip... Hopefully, it'll ease their stress-vomiting and fighting; and since Happy's been biting the edges of the corrugated cardboard ThirdLove bra box he's commandeered as his bed, it might ease some of the gum discomfort that may be causing it, at least till we can get him to the vet next week for his checkup & shots.
Seeing the podiatrist Monday--hoping he'll do some creative nail & callus-trimming and cast me for new orthotics, rather than recommend (ugh) bunion surgery.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Saturday! Sadie went to work with me yesterday, she had a wonderful time, got lots of attention, especially when she pooped in the middle of the hallway. Talk about a 3 ring circus, me trying to keep residents out of the area, keep Sadie from walking through the poo, and clean the mess up all at once! She gave me no clue she wanted to go out. She had just been out 20 minutes before we started going around visiting. She almost never messes in the house. The only think I can think of is that we were in a part of the hallway that is painted to look like a forest area, maybe she thought she was outside? Gonna be a while before I dare take her back!Going out for a picnic with some friends today, should be a beautiful day for it. No bean suppah tonight, everyone has other plans.
Cammy Cat--I'm still undecided about the 2 ayem class. If I do it and no one come, I'm stuck, but I've got ammunition--you said that was a good time, no one came, so now YOU are stuck coming when I decide to run the classes. But if that time really does work, it would be worth it to do more.Still thinking it through.I do love Olive Garden's chicken and gnocci soup. Like the salad as long as there isn't any dressing on it.I really do not like Italian dressing!Sounds like your family is keeping the local operating room going all by yourselves! That's lots of operations going on.Praying for good results for all of them.
Illi--glad to hear DH is better!
Jazzy--I can't tell if there's been a sudden drop off into fall weather, or going from such high humidity back to normal is making a few degrees lower temps feel a lot lower by comparison. Definitely fallish feeling during the nights and early ayems, but still summer feeling days and evenings. Thinking about swimming tomorrow if the weather holds.
Librarian--how nice to have a surprise visit like that! Great pics, love the info about the covered bridge. The nest looks wonderful, I be you enjoy it quite a bit.
Chi--isn't it frustrating to be doing everything right and still not have the lab results you want?

Hi friends- another weekend is here, thank the good Lord. These past two weeks with work, all the health stuff, etc. have been a bit much. But I find my way through and have some peace and quiet to get caught up on things again.
i was out early to get my lash touch up done, but after this next one with my hair cut the week after next, I am letting this go. The lashes are great and really make my eyes look fab, but the maintenance is time and money I don't have (especially the time) plus it interferes with things like my swimming every time I get a touch up. I may try something else with my lashes in the future, but need to leave my eyes alone for awhile, right?
Chi- this particular surgeon uses drops that have the antibiotic, steroid, etc. all rolled in to one drop. It's the new thing they are doing with cataract surgeries to help patients better deal with the drops instead of having to deal with a series of them, which is what it sounds like you had. But to your point, I need to create calendar and alarms for the drops. And yes, I have my drivers lined up for both surgeries. I just need to finalize the second one on Monday with the surgery center and will be having that the day before Thanksgiving and a nice long weekend to be home both times.
NM- I am working with a team on my project that is doing some app training at odd hours, mostly during ED shift changes that can be very early morning. But I have done go lives where I have had to be up working with healthcare people in the middle of the night. i personally found on my last gig when I was doing data center moves during over night that it really messed up my sleep schedule for a long time. I am too old to be shifting gears from day to night shift work. Well, if you host it and no one comes, or attendance is low, then you said say "we tried it, didn't work, something else please." I hope you get to go swimming, Sadie says yay!
Okay, gotta go. Tomorrow is farmers market and spa day!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Sunday Funday! I had a wonderful time visiting with friends yesterday, picnic on the ocean at Acadia National Park, got ticketed cuz I didn't have a park pass. Fortunately, I could get out of the $130 ticket by buying a $30 seven-day pass. Still shaking my head, have to buy a 7 day pass to spend a few hours at a picnic site that my tax dollars are paying for keeping up and managing.I didn't mind so much when you could get a $5 day pass. Still, for the hundreds of times I've got there without a pass while I was growing up in the area I guess I can't complain. And, of course, today is one of the 4 days a year that you can go into the park for free.We should have scheduled our picnic for today! Ah, well, I wasn't doing the scheduling (wouldn't have thought about the pass thing anyway) and it's all done and over now, and I've found one of the few (and often well hidden) places where a pass can be bought. Sadie was not so happy that I left her home all day, but she forgave me when I gave her leftover sandwiches for her din-din.
Jazzy--Overnight hours reallymess up my sleeping, too, so I'd rather avoid 2 ayem classes, but if it actually works it would be worth it. I'm leaning toward doing one, just so I can have the ammunition of "tried it, didn't work." I scheduled classes to start an hour before and after the shifts start (CNAs work 7-3, 3-11, and 11-7, nurses work 7a-7p, 7p-7a), and through the day. Some of the excuses I get are entertaining. One nurse can't attend classes after her shift ends because then she won't get enough sleep for her shift the next night. If she's not working the next night she can't stay cuz she's taking care of grandchildren. She can't come in during the day cuz she's sleeping cuz she doesn't change her sleep/wake times on her days off. (Maybe she babysits while she's asleep?)She can't come during the last hour of the shift cuz that's too busy a time with medications and report. I'm betting she'll have a reason for not being able to attend a 2 ayem class, too!
Oh, my, that duet is marvelous!
