Good morning, and happy Monday everyone. Bleh.
It looks like it was a busy weekend for all of you. I apologize that I can't comment individually. I'll get better at it when I'm home recovering from surgery, I hope.
Not much happening with me. Just counting down the days and planning a "last hurrah" cookout for the 6th. Have a great week!
-
JCS and Peridot- we will be in your pocket for your upcoming surgeries. Do let us know how you are doing on the other side of the procedure and when you feeling up to it.
Into July we go friends. Going to be a hot one here today!
-
Goldie, I hope your DD will have an easy surgery and quick recovery. Keep us posted!
Cami, I love your cat pictures.
So glad to read everyone's posts. Busy folks. I'm about the same. My cold is finally better-not completely gone but tolerable. No energy, but that's always true. Thinking of all of you, particularly those with surgery or scans coming up.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Twofer Tuesday! The weather guesser is talking about rain showers and thunderstorms again today, yesterday they didn't materialize. Warm, mostly sunny, very pretty day yesterday. Maine finally got on the bandwagon and is offering "Real ID" driver's licenses. Real ID licenses cost $55, standard cost $30. Sounds like it's almost easier to get a passport and be done with it. A passport certainly lasts longer! Hmm, I wonder if there is a passport equivalent for fur babies?Wouldn't it be a hoot if Sadie got her own passport?
Goldie--My chives are in pots on my deck, so I don't have to worry about them getting away from me, but I have seen how they can spread!Very good on baked potato and lots of other things. Mom and Dick are doing well.Dick's memory is becoming more problematic, Mom's patience with some of it is wearing thin. I think she's really afraid of taking care of someone she loves getting sick and dying like Dad did. I'm not sure if Dick's children realize what's going on with him, and their mother died of Alzheimer's a few years ago. It's going to get complicated there in a few years, I'm afraid. Praying for your DD.
Happy--Don't worry about individual responses, those aren't necessary. You've got a lot going on and we all get that. Good for you for planning a "last hurrah" cookout over the weekend!
Jazzy--Happy July!
Good Morning, Muddling!Getting the energy back after a cold seems to take longer every year I get older.

Well, my DD saw kidney doctor today. She has Renal Cell Carcinoma. The kidney surgeon had a cancellation today, so she will see him at 1:30. The doctor also told her she needed to cancel her surgery on Friday, as this is more important. The tumor is hanging off the kidney and she didn't see any other cancer cells on the kidney, so she thinks they would be successful in just removing the tumor. And of course she's an emotional mess, certainly didn't want to be in Michigan that long. She missed a ton of work when I was there, and missing a ton more now, as she has already been there a month. I had made a go fund me page for her, but it's only brought in $730.
Sorry to not comment on everyone, just don't have it in me right now.
-
I'm so sorry to read this news, goldie. I'll hold your DD and her medical team in my thoughts. May she have the very best outcome, and soon.
-
Goldie, that is definitely not good news about your daughter. My thoughts are with you as the challenge is worked through. Sounds like her medical team is not wasting any time.
I did get some good news this morning. The breast MRI I had a week or so ago showed no cancer. Just some dead cells and scar tissue. We are going ahead with the lumpectomy so the surgeon can clean things up. He will not touch the lymph nodes as the MRI showed nothing there.Even though there is not much data to show surgery changes the outcome of MBC, I feel good about it. Next I meet with the radiologist to schedule SBRT to the lung tumor. My goal is to join the NED group for as long as I can
Tonight we will celebrate my oldest son’s birthday. I will definitely be celebrating with an adult beverage!
-
Damn.... I’m sorry Goldie. Sending good vibes to your DD.
-
Goldie, so sorry for your daughter , I am sure she is scared and you probably are too. I don't know too much about the Go Fund Me program, does your daughter get 100 % of the moneys donated or do they keep a percentage of it? Hope your daughter gets all she needs. Prayed for her.
-
Goldie- sending much love ♥️
-
(((Lori & DD))). May the tumor be encapsulated, easy to snip off, and in situ. And may the financial situation improve.
JCS, congrats on the negative MRI. And may the mets be slow-growing, sparse and totally vulnerable to treatment.
DOTD today will be homemade seltzer--had to buy new Sodastream bottles because the old ones weren't holding their fizz...turns out they were 4 years past "pull date." Lucky they didn't explode on me.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Hump Day! Happy 4th of July Eve! Not quite so happy in this house this ayem though.Miss Silly Sadie decided to go out at 2:30 ayem and harass a critter in the yard.Said critter took exception toher harassment and sprayed her in the face.Yup, Miss Sadie got skunked. Apparently it was a small one, or one that didn't give Sadie the full treatment, but she is definitely getting a bath after work today. I've got to look up my tried and true deskunk recipe and pick up enough peroxide to make a batch. Ah, the excitement of a life shared with adoggo!
Goldie--Hugs to you and DD.I'll be praying for all of you. Such a difficult time.
Morning, Happy.
Librarian--That is good news from your MRI! May the SBRT be as successful. And who cares about the surgery changing the outcome or not, if it makes you feel better, that's all that matters.
Good morning to Illi, Misty, Jazzy
Chi--Wow, you got lucky with the Sodastream bottles!

Mornin' ladies,
Oh Lori I don't know what to say, but I know how I feel. This is terrible for u and ur DD. I think it's harder watching ur DD going thru this chit then when we go thru things. A bag of PRAYERS AND LOVE for both of u. Just let us know every step of this, I'm hurting for u Lori, really.
Sandy I thought Gordy's ex took that bed, well she probably doesn't want it now anyway. And no I didn't know about the oil for waffles. U gals must think I never cooked a day in my life, but actually at one point many yrs. ago I was a gourmet cook, basically when I was married, I enjoyed that. but now over the yrs. I don't member anything about it. It was something I got into and enjoyed then just stopped. And like husbands just put it in the back of my head and left it there.
YAY JC it's great news it's good to hear this.
Happy we're with u, just let us know. For any tips just ask these gals they're so good.
Hey Jazzy.
Kim a skunk oh that's the horror of pet things to happen. Good it was a little one but still it's so icky. My vocabulary has blossomed hasn't it.
I'm not making it everyday, I've been so busy with work, everyone has an A/C problem especially after 6pm Bob and I are both going crazy, especially him. Dan is in FL picking up a new truck, yea FL like nothing is good enough around here ....MEN Mr. Genius has no common sense and I tell him too.
My kids left yesterday and I already miss joey, oh yea my kids too. He's texted me a couple of times, but still. Lucky slept with me last nite. That dog whore will sleep with anyone.
LOTS OF LUB.

-
Awww... Cami, I love your kitty memes!
If Bob gets home tonight early enough for me to grill some Chilean salmon before the storms hit, DOTD will be a Pinot Noir or maybe a similar light red (or even rose—certainly hot enough out for that). Otherwise, it’ll have been the keto-friendly almond milk “Frappuccino” I just made. It was yummy, but now I have brain-freeze, because I didn’t want to leave my Invisalign off for more than 15 min. Hauled out the Vitamix for the first time in at least 3 years!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Independence Day! It has come off hot and humid here today. Sadie and I are going to spend most of the day hanging out on the deck today. Going to be totally lazy!
Goldie--saying prayers and sending hugs.
Cammy Cat--LOL!The clock sometimes does not move at all! And not just on Wednesdays! Yup, skunked doggo is unhappy doggo. I swear she can't understand why the critter didn't want to accept the honor of her playing with it!!!! Not so much fun, but part of sharing life with a fur baby. Nice of the whore dog to sleep with you, though!
Chi--Brain freeze?? NOOOOOO!!!So painful!

Cami, are home alone?
NM, did Silly Sadie get deskunked? Enjoy your lazy day! After all, it's a holiday.
-
Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy TGIF day!Sadie and I did just exactly what we said we would do yesterday, just about nothing at all! Got another hot and humid day on tap today. Temps may hit 90 degrees today!Yeah, summer has arrived!
Goldie--Sadie is mostly deskunked. Need to get her a new collar, though.

2 oz gin
2 oz rum
2 oz sweet and sour mix
2 oz vodka
48 oz(4 cans) cola
24 oz(2 cans) Sprite® soda
Pour all ingredients into a large pitcher with ice. Stir, and serve in tall glasses.

Good morning and TGIF. Yes, I say that because I'm actually at work right now. Ugh. It might help a little if this was an Irish coffee instead of just black.
Only 8 hours to go, then 4 - 6 weeks off. What a range of emotions.
Have a great day and weekend, everyone. I'll be boobless (and hopefully cancer-free!) when I post again.

Mornin'' ladies,
I stopped by yesterday to see what going on with Lori's DD but Lori u didn't say. I've had her on my mind. Yes Lori I'm alone. Stupid me insisted but our good neighbor takes the dog out and feeds her. I know it's a simple job but feeding him is trying for me cuz I have to bend over and he';s cray when he's outside and I can't walk him at all. But when it's time to sleep he's right on my lap all cuddly til we get up. Jodie's shopping for me today and I'll take a shower, my niece calls me 3x a day and the guys <well just 3> check up on me so trying to get a little independence is harder than I thought. I've got my walker back out to lessen any falling that I seem to do<gravity is tougher when u get older> so knock on wood it's OK but I think once in a while I was stupid staying alone. Oh and Joey calls me at nite too. His voice has changed and I keep on saying Joey is that u talking??? LOL
Kim I never thought about the collar for Sadie has to be changed, Hope that skunk disappears they usually don't tho. I'm glad u just rested yesterday but come clean do u make up the drink names or actually find them. The DOTD'S are always perfect for anything that's going on.
I hope more check in to see how everyone's doing. It's been quiet in here, hope everyone's doing well.
LUBS U ALL

Cami, do be careful when alone and make sure if you maneuver around the house, to have your phone with you, just in case. There is no news on my DD, she was supposed to have surgery today for the fibroids, but something was said during her visit with the kidney surgeon. I haven't talked to her, so I don't know what is going on. She is at her dads, and I don't want to be a pest.
Peridot, what can we add to your IV? Vodka, wine, beer, you name it! Good luck and I hope you are prepared at home. What day is surgery again? And check in when you can. I think you will have lots of down time. Will he do to help you at home?
-
Good morning ladies- happy day after the holiday. What did everyone do and more importantly, eat?
Back from da pool where I swam early today. Next up is a trip to the dentist for my bi-yearly cleaning (yes they are open today), groceries, my bc yoga class I have not been to in age, and hopefully a new Google Pixel by end of the day. My client site is closed and I have some work to finish up to be ready for some things next week, but more play vs. work for four days.
Cami- did I hear you are all by your lonesome right now? Where did everyone go?
NM- oh no about Sadie getting skunked. Poor doggie and poor you.
Peridot- will be in your pocket for the surgery and we hope to hear you are recovering well on the other side.
Goldie- I am so sorry to hear things with your DD are just one thing after another. It sounds like she is back state side though and getting help here for what she needs to do next where her dad is. Your family has had a really tough year here in 2019. Are you feeling better from all your health issues too friend?
Will pop back in again soon and for those who are working today, hope your day is an easy one.
-
All systems go for the lumpectomy on July 17th. The MO confirmed my bloodwork looks good and I can be off chemo until August 2nd. I am pretty close to ready on the home front. I want to do some yardwork this weekend, then get the house clean next week. After that I may stare at the four walls and just relax! Recovery is supposed to be relatively simple with minimum restrictions on lifting. I hope to schedule the SBRT early in August as I have the consultation appointment with the radiologist on July 19th.
My brother ended up not having any toes amputated. The surgeon decided his wound was healing when he looked at it on the operating table. Unknown to the doctor or myself, my brother had been going to a wound center and getting hyperbaric treatments. Seems like it would have been smarter to tell the doctor so they could monitor your progress. 🤪
Sounds like everyone had a nice Fourth, except Sadie! I ate too much and did enjoy some beers on a hot day. A whole month without chemo! I wish my eyebrows would come back!!! Oh well. Take care everyone and have a great weekend.
-
Jazzy, my daughter has been in MI since June 1st. She will be having cist on the kidney and fibroids remove in one operation, instead of 2. So only going under once and instead of 8 small incisions, they will be able to do 6, since both surgeons work at the same hospital. It's just getting both to be able to be available at the same time. As for me, I'm still not 100%, but feeling about 90%. Will know more when I get labs on the 12th and see MO on the 15th. Glad to hear you are still enjoying the summer and long weekends. Cami's DD and her DH and Joey are in CO for a family vacation.
JCS, I should be able to remember your surgery, as it's on my DH's b-day! Lumpectomy is what I had, but 11 years ago. Don't remember it being too bad. I did have drains tho.
-
Goldie- I appreciate the updates since i have not been in here in awhile, although I have tried to read when I can. Let us know when DD is having her surgery so we can be in her pocket.
I was thinking the other day how we said we were going to meet up in Gallup sometime this year. Let's hold that out there for the future friend and know when we get together, the time will be right. You get better and stronger please. Praying for all your family.
Good that Les and the fam got away for a few days with Mr. Joey. Cami is probably hanging out with all her boyfriends. You know how she is......
