Mary-Anne, your bloods will be OK - they have to be! I will be thinking of you - I know the anxiety and I have a big black spot on my arm to remind me that I had them done this week too.... Good luck to your daughter and I hope that you have a great time at the cottage!

Laura, you are so sweet. Your energy in making our trip so great along with having your sister in the hospital and worries about her kids is incredible. I hope she gets her meds situation worked out. I hate to hear that people don't take meds becaue they can't afford them. That really stinks!

Glad to hear that Graycie and KiKi are OK.

Tracy - we really missed you, Kelly, Victoria, Jill and Linny.... In 2010 maybe we can all be togther!

Wow - was it only a week ago..... **sniff** it makes me miss you all even more to think that we were all just meeting for the first time a week ago..... It was so much fun.

Well, my cheetah phants, I have to get ready for bed.

    Hi My sisters,

Just wanted to pop by and say hi, I had my Zoladex injection the other day and havent felt the best and feeling pretty tired.

My sister is coming over for the weekend but I will be back on again on Saturday to catch up with everyone and see if I can figure out how to post my other pictures.

Cindy - last one today! You made it!! Take care and get some much needed rest...

Laura - I'm praying that your sisters meds are regulated properly, you are a great aunt to Shelby and Sydney. If Sydney is anything like her sister they are so easy to love and she is such a great little helper which will make things a little easier for you and Roy. Big hugs to you and your sister in this time of need. Say hi to my new little friend Shelby!

    Love

Yep, today's my last one!!! Night before last, I went to sleep dreaming of riding my bicycle. Last night, before I dropped off to sleep, I was thinking about the pink boxing gloves and pieces of the first "Rocky" movie started playing in my head, with me wearing the pink gloves and running up all those stairs--all to the Rocky music, of course! Pretty hokey, but it made me smile and I knew I had to share it with you all.

You just brought tears to my eyes as well as a smile, Cindy! We're all with you today!!!!!
Laura - you are awesome - I certainly am praying that your sister gets better soon!!! The girls are so blessed to have you in their lives!
MaryAnne - thinking about you too! I hate that feeling too but I believe everything will be fine!! (((Hugs))) as you send your DD off to college - I can't even imagine but I know that time will be here for me before I know it! Great pictures, btw!!!

Does anyone know how to post a link to the Snapfish album?? I'll try to figure it out...

Ok - off to drink another cup of coffee (probably why I'm anemic...) and get this day rolling...

I think you are much more beautiful with your pink boxing gloves than Rocky ever was handsome. An you fight is so much more inspirational and important. Besides, he was make-believe and you are a real, live, wonderful, cheeta-phant, WOMAN!!

We all love you and celebrate the last treatment with you today. Let's all raise our trunks and give a trumpet or a cheer in Cindy's honor . . . . y-e-a-a-y-y-e-e-e-e!!!!!

Yay, I'm done!! Woo-hoo! Happy butt dance in my office chair! hahahahahahahahahahaha! (And I'm *still* hearing snippets of the Rocky theme every so often in my mind!)

I've been sending my mom photos of our adventure in Chicago as people have been posting them. Joel and I took only a few photos before deciding to just steal all *your* photos because we would be in them! LOL

My mom was so excited about me getting to meet you all. I even called her Saturday night after my steroids wore off and she was so happy that I got to go be with you all. I identified everybody in our group photo and told her a little bit about everyone and she thinks you are all GREAT!

I think she had almost as much fun from our get-together as *I* did.
    ---------------------------------------------------------

Laura, I can really empathize about your sister. I had a roommate for three years who suddenly developed bipolar disorder and it was like she turned into someone else. I took her to the hospital more than once to get her meds straightened out. It's a helpless feeling to watch someone you love turn into a stranger. You and your nieces are definitely in my thoughts.

I'm back up and running....It took my daughter two minutes to figure out what was wrong. I am such a ditz when it comes to computers. But I have to say even the computer store didn't have a clue what was wrong.

First of all I want to say Congratulations to Cindy. You are my Idol. I wish I could be as strong as you. Also I want to tell each and everyone of you how much it meant to me to meet all of you. It felt like we had known each other forever. You would never know that was the first time we met in person and everyone was just as I expected.
Laura, I am saying special prayer's for your sister. Thanks again for everything you did for our wonderful weekend. I agree with Mary you are the Hostess with the mostest. I can't believe it has been a week already since our PJ party.

The pictures are great and I already ordered some of them so I can make a photo album. I will try and post some of my pictures if I can figure it out.

Love, Graycie, Gail, Thelma or is that Louise..........Oh wait, maybe it's Ruthie.........You girls probably thought we belong in the looney bin........

Laura, how is your sister. I've been thinking about all you girls: your mom, your nieces, you, of course, and Leeanne. Hope she is doing better. Your little angles are lucky to have such a nice Aunt Laura.

Cindy!! Great job, well done. Now eat some chocolate and rest!

CINDY!!!! YES!!!! All Done! That is so cool! You have got to feel so good - you fought the battle, girl! You are my hero too - I don't think I could have done it with the strength and positive outlook that you have shown us all.

I can't believe how much I miss you all! A week ago we were in our cheetah wear..... I really love the bond that we have and that we care enough to miss each other!

    OK -enough mush.

Graycie, Gail, Ruthie - whatever your name is - we are glad that you are back with us! Tell Louise er ah KiKi that I said hello.

    Good Morning My sisters,

I had a pretty awesome sleep last night, almost 10 hours but not interrupted…woke up a few times but feel pretty spectacular today!

My older sister is staying here until Sunday night as dh is working nights and I like to take here out as often as I can as she suffers from depression and has had a tough go of it this past summer.

My two sisters and I went out for dinner last night and when I got back to the house actually packed two boxes of winter clothes…yes the packing saga has started.LOL.

Today my sister and I and Mom and Dad are actually going to visit the new house, I’m going to do a drawing of our master bedroom where the windows, doors, etc and measurements of each wall as we are buying new furniture and want to make sure we don’t buy too much!
Here in Canada when you buy a home you get two visits with your agent limited to one hour prior to closing to do such things. My dh and I will go together on the last visit just to look at anything else we may think of like if we need new blinds, etc.

I was feeling pretty under the weather for a few days after my Zoladex injection, yucky tummy and not so pleasant problems with plumbing down there (don’t want to be gross).

At my oncologist visit on Wednesday he mentioned that if I wanted to have my ovaries removed as I was highly estrogen positive and so I don’t have to take Zoladex indefinetly due to my age he would totally support it. I have been bugging him about this for the past 6 months and he said no then. I guess he has consulted with some colleagues on my case and decided that it may be a good idea so he has started the process of referring me to one of his trusted surgeons for an appt to discuss this. I told him I didn’t want them out until February of next year as we are gearing up to move, going away and then Christmas will be upon us. Also the late fall and January are our busiest times at work.

I miss my sisters and cant believe that a week has gone by and we are all now home again enjoying our summers except for Ravdeb who is still traveling the U.S.

I will post my pictures once I get a chance maybe Monday as I am off due to Labour Day holiday.

Paula – glad to see that you finally made it out of Chicago onto your next vacation destination? How was Hawaii and your trip back home? Any pictures of Hawaii? Always wanted to go there….

Deb – that is so weird that you met Paula’s cousin at the train station, what are the chances of that happening? He seems like a really nice guy and very quite or maybe he was just intimidated by all of us women.LOL.

You are funny there is another good one liner “Tim Tam we ate you at a party”.LOL.

Have a good time in Florida!

Cindy – yes wonder women has finished her last chemo! CAN YOU SAY HIP HIP HOORAY!!! Get that much need rest, now you will be counting the days until that stubble starts to come back….YES!

Amy – not everyone had really curly hair only Paula, Maryanne, myself. I will give you some of my curls, have tried straightener stuff and it just bearly tames them.LOL. How is Kelby and your leg?

I remember crying the first time we left our Sheppard to go to Pennyslvania, you would have thought we were leaving him forever….

Enjoy your weekend in Montreal, wow an Egyptian weeding! Post some pictures…

Do they give you iron pills for being anemic?

Tracyseattle – I didn’t realize we had so many one liners and yes Brenda my lips are sealed this time.LOL. Wonderful news on a great checkup!

Fumi – you will enjoy your meeting in October, it is amazing the connection that you have immediately with another sister!

Laura – have you used your spa certificate yet? How are the girls doing? I smile when I think of our ride in the goat on Saturday night what a thrill you gave me, although I was clenching the side of the door thinking OMG does she know what she is doing and then you tell us later Saturday night that you cant see very well at night…..I don’t think I would have gone for that ride had I known that, haa haJ

Rosemarie – you have tons of patience with your kids, I watched you Saturday night as you told Justin on the stairs to be a “good boy”, so sweet!

Maryanne – hopefully you got your child support cheque, why would your ex send it to the hotel? Enjoy your weekend at the cottage! Wasn’t able to access the slide show for some reason?

Brenda – thanks. Have fun with your new school year, the kids have a great teacher that is so fun! Your student was so great to help you out with the move.

Mary – isn’t it fun to show everyone the pictures of our weekend together, it was incredible!

Kelly – love your interpretation of the shirt “Cheetah pant”.LOL.

Graycie – the hand swelling could be lymphodema? I cant remember are you er+ and on hormonals?

    Have a super day ladies.

    Love You all!

Heck, Gail, that *does* sound like it could be lymphadema, which I know very little about. I hope one of the other sisters gets on here soon to give you some advice.

Gail my hand did swell, a lot, but my arm swelled first - hmmm - I wonder if the fluid would collect in the hand only?? Hope you get an answer and some relief soon! I would certainly look into it soon - don't let it go!!!!

Michele - you're sweet - so glad I fooled all of you into thinking I'm patient, lol. I HAVE to remind Justin to be good - he's so rotten!

Ok - got to find a brocolli salad recipe as I promised I'd bring that to the cookout we're going to tomorrow!

Gail, that is how my LE started with swelling across my knuckles - my arm didn't swell - UNTIL NOW!!! It is swollen this week and I think as a result of the plane trip. I have been wearling my sleeve most of the time since I got back.

You should visit your Dr. and get it checked so that you can "nip it in the bud" if it is....

Dave and I are off to his nieces wedding. I will catch up with all of you later!

    Hugs!

Thanks everyone. I asked the pharmacist because I was going to buy a glove but he doesn't think it is lymphedema but said to keep an eye on it. He said I may have gotten bit by something and I may need an antibiotic. He also thinks it looks black and blue. I think it was just the lights because it doesn't look black and blue to me now that I am home. I guess I will wait to see how it looks tomorrow....

    Welcome home Paula.

You know Kelly, I was thinking the same thing. I really don't think there is any other explanation then lymphedema especially after reading Tracy's post. My hand just wouldn't swell up for no reason.

Tracy, I hope you are having fun at the wedding.

Gail: if you press down on the swelling and it leaves a print it is probably LE. Find a therapist and get it worked on and it will go down.

I am so tired ladies, I can't believe it. I have worked like a government mule and the move is finally over. We are open for business in our new location and I'm glad about it! I'm going back to bed.

    Hi Girls!
gosh...I hardly have time to sleep these days! Thanks for all the well wishes! Leeann is home and doing a little better...she still seems a little out of it though. I'm hoping the new meds will be kicking in. I paid $240 for one of her meds...that's only enough for 1 month though! I'm going to see if the pharmacuetical com will help her out. The girls are doing well. I'm keeping them as busy as possible! They start school on Tuesday, and they have everything they need and I will take them home tomorrow. My Mom will help again and then I will bring them back here next weekend.

    Cindy -
SO GLAD YOU'RE DONE! You are such a trooper...I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. Hope you're able to enjoy this weekend. In the words of our lovely sister Mary-Anne...fists up girl!

    Graycie -
Yikes...I hope it's not LE! Geesh...you really don't need that to deal with! Say hi to KiKi.

    TaDah -
Glad the moves over...you definitely have to join us next time! You were missed.

    Cathy -
    Where are you?

    Michele -
No need to worry...I wasn't even going that fast! If I'm alone in the Goat - I go ALOT faster! LOL You were so funny...you kept me laughing! How's your sister doing? I will be getting a massage, pedicure and manicure next week! THANKS SO MUCH ALL OF YOU! And thank you again for the framed print you gave me. I hung it in my bedroom...it's so nice!
    ---------------------------

    EVERYONE -
Love you all... hope you're all having a great weekend!

I was doing some reading today and found something I thought was so good for me and us and I wanted to share. I am going to quote it here because I applied it to my fear of recurrance and how strongly entrenched it can become in our minds that sometimes we don't think it's coming back, we feel we know it is.
    Quote:

Trouble will not come a second time. --Nahum 1:9

When [Satan] counterattacks it often comes through your IMAGINATION. Before you know it, what you imagined yesterday you begin to believe today and become fully convinced of tomorrow. That's why the Bible instructs us to "Cast down IMAGINATIONS and take every thought captive" (See 2Co 10:15). Take control of your thoughts before they take control of you!

ok.....not preaching here, just using a spiritual thought to convey something we can grab hold of and use!!

Paula and Debbie - glad you are both home safely.... Debbie - I am not even going to ask.... OMG - I am glad you are all OK.

Glad Leanne is home and I sure hope her meds work. Laura you are an awesome sister and friend.... Hugs!

Gail - it couldn't hurt to get it checked. I hope it isn't LE.

The wedding was different. It was at the Knights of Columbus hall and we all sat at the reception tables for the wedding. The food and drink was good and we had a good time visiting with Dave's Sister and BIL.

Today I finally have a bit of time to work around the house. Got the kitchen cleaned up and most of my laundry done. I am packing again for Reno this time - I leave on Thursday evening.

Tonight we are taking shrimp shiska-bobs and salad to my mom's house. My son is bringing kalbi ribs which are AWESOME!!! He learned to make them in Hawaii from a true Hawaiian. YUM!!!!

Tomorrow is an all day shopping spree for me! I was looking forward to going all by myself, but then mom asked me to take her to Michaels and when she found out I had plans to shop all day, she pouted until I invited her.... This is one of the three weeks a year that I can shop with 40% off on certain brands. YES!!! Fall Clothes, here I come!!!

I will catch you all later - hope you are enjoying your long weekend!

    LOVE YA!

    Happy Sunday Evening!

My sister has gone home and I am sort of getting up some energy to pack a few things. I am so tired today, I did wake up at 5:00 a.m. and lied in bed until 6:00 a.m. and they decided to get up for a bit. Dh came home and we chatted for a bit then I went back to sleep at 7:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Today I was packing some books from the wall unit here in the office and found the tape recorder that my dh used on my first surgeon's visit after mamo/ultra sound and biopsy. Stupid me I played it, for some reason was able to not get upset (yah for me!) but realized how afraid and scared both my dh and I were that day...Me thinks that I will destroy that tape so it isnt around for when we unpack everything.

The visit to our new house yesterday was great, took the measurements we needed for the bedroom. My parents and sis loved the house. First thing my dad did when he walked into the basement was looked at the breaker panel, hee hee:) My dad is an electrican by trade so it didnt surprise me....

The one thing that I didnt notice when we made the offer on the house was how nice the curtains and blinds were. We wont have to replace any of them as they look very modern looking, the previous owners had great taste.

We are so excited about it, uh can you tell??? We have a print from when we went to the Grand Canyon last April which we are already envisioning sitting above our fire place.

Rosemarie - Justin is not rotten he is too cute to do anything wrong! Enjoy your cookout tomorrow.

Debbie444 - I wont even ask what happened to you or Mark but please tell me, OMG I cant believe your luck. Thankfully you made it home safely from America! How was the rest of your trip?

Paula - glad to hear that you made it home too! I put the kangaroo keychain on my keys, it looks smashing.

TracyNy - get some much needed rest after all your hard work!

Laura - that ride in the goat will stay in my memory for a long while and makes me chuckle when I think of it.LOL.

Big hugs to your sister and to the girls. You are a wonderful auntie to them, it must be hard to take on the "mom task". Glad you like the ribbon frame, I thought it was beautiful when I saw it.

My sister spent a few days with me as dh was working all weekend. She had a rough sleep the past few nights and told me that she doesnt like to sleep without the light on as the flashbacks bother here, poor sweetie. Gosh I love her so much it hurts to see her like this. The meds also seem to be spacing her out.

Kelly - love the quote, now if I could just remember it when those nasty thoughts come to mind....

Tracyseattle - is Reno the trip where you have been asked to be a speaker, cant remember?

Cindy - hope you are having a great sleep today as I remember you saying that Sunday was the "crash day", just think though you dont have to go back for anymore!

Hello to all my other sisters, hope you are enjoying your weekend.

    Love You All!

well looks like i am the first one to start a working week.. yuk!! going back to work after holidays is tough.

surprisingly, there werent too many posts to get through. But it sure does feel different now when i can imagine your faces and voices while i type.

Cindy, congrats!! so the pink boxing gloves came in handy, heh? now you are ready to welcome back your hair!

Debbie, like everyone else, i am scared to ask what happened.. but glad you are ok!

Michele, enjoy the new house, its the best feeling..

Tracy, good luck with the shopping!! I am done for a loooong time after my hawaiian shopping spree.. i had a glimpse at my credit card account and was NOT impressed.

Laura, glad to hear about your sister getting better. Mental illness can be tough... i have a friend who suffers from severe depression, and he did tell me (and i tend to belive this) that he would prefer to get cancer. Its extremely frustrating, for the person and for those around.. so i totally understand your wish to make her better.

ooh all that talk about the Goat... now how fun was THAT? i am sure with just you alone in the car you drive MUCH faster than when someone else is in there with you... i know i would.

guess what girls... remember Alex (my cute distant relative)? well i was invited to spend Thanksgiving with him and his family in San Diego!! what do you think? should i go?
Do any of you live in San Diego? What is it like?

ok i think i babbled enough.. back to work!

Paula, I live in San Diego. If and when you come here, please give me a call so we can have a small reunion. We might even ask Kelly to join us. I'm sure she'd love it.

Laura, I'm glad to hear that your sister is better. You owe me a goat ride, btw.

Michele: Lips sealed re: my one-liners. After all, I am some sort of a public figure (LOL) and I don't want my reputation tarnished. People are bound to misunderstand. Thank you for being a good sister to me. I miss my Rocktober sisters. WAAAAHHHHH!

Cindy: Congratulations to you. You and your dh must be very relieved.

Ruthie: I have swelling on my other hand. Could you have LE on the opposite side? Say hi to your lovely sister for me.

Amy: I was born with curls stuck to my head. I don't like curly hair on me, but I am starting to learn to live with it.

    HAPPY LABOR DAY TO EVERYONE!
