    Kelly, lol! so true!!!
i am on a cabbage soup diet, and this time i am determined not to cheat. So last night at a friends dnner, had to say NO to:

    wine
    beer
    tuna bake pasta
creamy chicken with mushrooms and potatoes
    bread buns
    ice cream with midori
tim tams - this was the hardest one..

Michelle - i sleep like a log. In fact, i could sleep 20 hours a day if i could.

Ladies, my only request re get-together - is location. Can it be somewhere where you can fly relatively easily? I'd rather not have to hire a car - we drive on the other side of the road here in OZ.

Can you believe that the one thing I forgot to get from storage was my beach wear?!

I spent the better part of the day asleep when I need to be getting myself together for the trip. I so hate to go away and come home to chores so I have to wash the towels I've been going on about since the new year and put some sheets on my bed (I still haven't ironed any either)!!

Thank goodness Monday is a holiday!

I am way behind with the post's as usual.
Amy, That is wonderful new's for you that the doctor gave you the OK to be a Mommy. Best of luck in finding a surrogate.

Cathy, Yahoo........no more herceptin. How did your Mammo go? So glad you and Tracy were able to meet. I hope you girls took some pictures.

Kelly, Laura and Brenda, Your turn is coming up soon.

Ravdeb, Don't feel bad about your mind not being there. I can totally relate. Sometimes I really feel so dumb and sound so air headed. My memory is also shot to H***.

Mary, I am glad you are feeling better. You are so BRAVE......5 kids to the movies? I want to see "Charlotte's web." It looks like a cute movie. My girlfriend said she would go with me since she wants to see it too.

Michelle, "Dreamgirls" was good. I even went out and bought the CD. Jennifer Hudson was amazing. I can't believe she didn't win American Idol.

TracyNY, since you saw Dreamgirls maybe you know even though it is way before your time. Who was Eddie Murphy supposed to be portraying? We pretty much figured out the rest but we couldn't figure out who he was supposed to be...

Kelly, I went and had my hair cut the other day to fix the mess I made of the back. I was lucky she listened to me and just layered the back. She charged me for a man's haircut and she also styled it. It cost me $18.99 plus tip. We have Fantastic Sam's here too but I never had much luck with them. I went to a place called "Bangs" Do you have those there? They are pretty good and you don't need an appointment.

Linda, So happy to hear that Isaac is approved for the surgery. How old are the twins?

Maryanne, Good luck with your Mammogram on Monday.

Oh I almost forgot to tell everyone about our fun evening the other night....
My dh woke me up in the middle of the night and said, "do you hear that?" I was in lala land because I took a decongestant before I went to bed. Anyway, he scared me half to death I thought he heard someone breaking into the house. Well, it was the CO detector going off. That was the start of it, next the doorbell is ringing the back light is going on and off, the TV's are going on and off, light switches were blinking, light over stove was going bonkers...I thought I was living in Debbie's world for a minute........heee...I guess it was some kind of power surge, I have never seen anything like it. I thought we had a ghost.......lol...... Anyway I guess a tree had fallen on the power lines. We shut off all the power to the house and when we got up in the morning everything was back to normal. Needless to say I only got 4 hours sleep and had to go to work.......

Hey to everyone I missed. Laura, I hope you are feeling better......

Huh? Who are you? Rocktober sisters speak freely, we don't hide behind new identities to get into stuff. "We've been together for over a year and are very close" but this is your first post?

hmmm... if this is a spammer she/he knows an awful lot about us. TaDah is right, if your intentions are good, no reason to come under a different name.
This could even be one of the members spouse/partner? If you indeed are, just honestly say so, and we can discuss things in an adult manner.

Yes , I too am wondering what has been going off - did something happen?
Graycie - welcome to my world!! The other night i heard a strange noise, lay there debating whether to ring Rog as he had gone out . It was a loud creak. Being as we live in a bungalow it could have come from anywhere so i lay quiet until i heard it again. A loud creak followed by a bang. Well, armed with my straighteners ( to hit the intruder with you understand) and squinting because i couldnt find my glasses , i set off , in the dark ( dont turn light on in case there really is someone there) well it made sense at the time. I couldnt find anything, so left a note for Rog.
In the morning we found it - the ceiling in the utility room had come crashing down !! How i missed that i dont know!!

The location request is a good one.

OMG Debbie! That is horrible! Thank goodness nobody was hurt. How DO these things happen to you?
Your OFSTED is unbelievable! My how tense! We do NOT have that here. There is a supervisor who comes. When I was teaching in the schools she would just come into the room (we knew she was coming) and she would observe for as long as she wanted. She never spoke to the kids! I was giving a test when she came in (I only taught for one year here in Israel in the school system) and I was wondering how she was going to observe me handing out tests! But, I got a long report back about my nice rapport with the kids! I hated those kids!!!LOL

Gail.that is the weirdest thing that happened to you in your house! Like in the movies! At least it's all back to normal now. Whew!

Our famous fortune teller here (who is often right) said there will be an earthquake in California in 2007. Just thought I'd warn Brenda and Kelly!

I'm tired. Had a meeting with a board member about my committee. He gave me a great book (in English) to use as guideline and I told him that I really needed that! I decided to leave out the chemo brain stuff. He doesn't do well with hearing about ailments though he always asks me how I'm doing and called me at least once a week while I was in treatments. Nice person, means well, but..chemo brain would be beyond him!!!!

I will try to organize things from my desk. He said I do NOT have to have meetings so that will relieve me from having chemo brain in front of everybody!!! HA!

Then I went to the beach.

I don't want Victoria to unsubscribe! What is going on?? Please..somebody fill me in. I'm willing to go along on a blog somewhere else in cyberspace. Just give me a site...

As for our get together..how is the August date.. 24th, 25th and 26th I think? My dh just told me I may have a free ticket to the States! He said there may be two free tickets so maybe I could do Aug and then again Thanksgiving! I'm getting excited!!!! If not, I can definitely do one trip.

That is a safe date for me. I won't have to worry about my son going into the army then...I hope! Ya never know with the army stuff.

Please write and tell us if that date is good for everybody. Is that a good date for Victoria???

I gotta go take a nap. I am totally wiped out.

    Have a good Sunday (no..Paula..NOT SUNDAE!!! )

    Hi Girls -
I'll address the "loser's post" later, but I wanted to post a quick note (me and Shelby are running out to meet friends for breakfast):

It looks as though the second to last or last weekend in August is working for everyone. If so, let's decide one of the two. Also, is everyone in agreement with Chicago? As I said from the beginning, I would gladly travel "to the ends of the earth" to meet you. I suggested Chicago as it is so centrally located, within the US. And I think most of you agreed Chicago would be a reasonable location, but I am open to whatever works! Once we decide on a date, we can decide exactly what the plan will be. If you all want to meet in downtown Chicago, that's fine. If you want to head out here (I could provide transportation) that would be fine too. Our basement will be fully finished by then with a bar and about 1000 square feet of space. I could have it catered with snacks and cocktails. But, we can figure out the precise plans later.

In the meantime, because I really think we need to finalize this, I have placed my beloved son, Buddy Love, in his time-out "chair" until a decision is made (I learned in management courses that everyone needs a deadline).
Don't worry...we'll feed him and provide him with water. So, please let's make a decision and FREE BUDDY LOVE!

Just pick a date and I'll be there if possible. Most of my trips are optional so I can always rearrange if necessary.

A dog in a pocketbook? Whatever next?! Laura, let the dog go!! We'll figure it out. It will be lovely if we can all gather at the same time but if not, I'm sure we can make opportunities to visit each other individually as some of us have already done.
