Have you seen mine anywhere? Oops, gotta quit--My flowers look like they need a little water!!!!!!Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Now I've lost my cell phone. Should we start a pool to see who can guess where I lost it? I've tried the meat drawer in the fridg. Where should I look next?

Jackie Sue check your front lawn laying on the ground. At least that is where I found mine yesterday. I bet if I looked at my bill I spend as much time calling my own number to locate my phone as others do calling me. I usually walk around dialing my phone and listening for the ring tone and then tracking it down. I also wear prosthesis and spend more time in the morning looking for my boobs than I do getting ready. You would think I would keep them in the same place but that would be too simple. Most of the time they are in the car where I took them off driving home. I always put them up "somewhere" because I have dogs and I could just imagine them running through the house with my expensive boobs.
Speaking of losing things I have lost the dogs brush. I brush them nightly and for the last week I havent been able to locate it so needless to say I bought another one last night. How hard is it to lose a dog brush that you use everyday?!? Maybe one day I will find it. Need I mention this is the second time I have replaced the dog brush and have yet to find the first one I lost. Go figure! Amy

Amy, funny, funny--I hide mine from the cat because I can just see him clawing it up and me trying to explain to the insurance what happened. Lately I've taken to trying to hide it in the same place so I don't spend so much time looking for it. I just went through my cell phone bill and noticed how many times I've called myself from the house phone looking for the cell. On Monday, I had to run into the daycare and have them call it repeatedly because I had it on vibrate and not ring. So I went to the vehicle and felt all the bags that I carry all my "stuff" around in until I felt one moving. It turned out to be the phone and not an intruder. Jackie--the time before Monday's adventure I found my phone in the container of bird feed. Don't Ask??!! Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

All right, I found my phone. It's in Phoenix. I live in San Diego. I left it in the back seat of my parents car. My sister found it for me today. I did try to call it, but it was turned off. With my parents hearing loss they would have never heard it anyway.

I have to hide my wig from the pets. My dogs and cats would love to drag it around. It looks like a giant rat when it's lying around. With the big white styrophome head that I store it on it's harder to lose. But it could happen.

Amy, I think the dogs might be telling you they don't want to be brushed every night. I bet they uried the brushes in the yard!

Jackie I bet you pets want to look cool like you, so you'd best keep that wig out of their reach!

My cat is always taking things and hiding them!

Hey, maybe our pets catch chemo-fuzz from us. This morning I went out to play throw the orange toy with my dog and I couldn't find it. I said, "Find your toy" and Dash ran around and around the yard and whole drive looking for the goofy toy. Finally he found an old chewed up tennis ball and brought it to me, but we never did find the orange squeaky thing that he really loves. I went out a little while ago and he still hasn't found it apparently. He gave me this look and I said, "Don't rely on me to find something of yours, buddy, I can't even keep track of my own stuff!!!!" Hope everyone had a Blessed Sunday. Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

So I'm packing my bag to go in tomorrow and say goodbye to the left side. I was thinking that I'm so much smarter this time around and will remember to take things that I missed 2 years ago. But you ladies on this thread know how my mind operates or doesn't operate as the case may be and I just know I'm going to forget something important. What do you think?? I believe I'll leave my remote at home!! Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

The remote at the hospital is tied down if I remember right. That should help. I didn't lose something this time (except my brains). I spilled nail polish remover on my dining room table. It didn't register with my brain that it would be a problem. Now I have a rather large hole in the finish. My poor husband just shook his head.

You're right, Dotti, the remote was all hooked to the "call the nurse" button thingy. The sound for the TV actually came out of that too. It was actually quite handy except for when they forgot to clip it to my bed and it fell off. I had to wait until someone came in because I was all hooked up to IVs and drains and I couldn't reach off the bed. I forgot my toothbrush and a hairbrush/comb. My friends went to WallyWorld and got all the stuff I neglected to bring. All went well. Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Lost it again--found it again--IN the sock drawer--must have made its way from the laundry basket--the cat actually is the one who found it--I was pairing up socks and tossing them in the open drawer--the TV muted for no reason--I realized the cat had jumped into the sock drawer and stepped on the mute button of the missing remote!!!!!!!I knew I kept that cat around for a reason. He's turning into a good detective!! Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

    Hey NancyLee,
Glad you are feeling better and is schl abt ready to start?
I wish that I had a quarter for every remote control that I had lost/found...would be some loot! How is the Jeep doing;wasn't it in the shop recently? Man,Ward Cleaver sure knew what he was talking abt, didn't he??? Between losing the car keys and the remote, life would be pretty boring some days.... Enjoy the schlyear and glad you are feeling better. Hosp visit sounded like it was good to get back home.

    Take care,

Iris--You are NOT going to believe this because I find it incredible BUT I had a car accident so my jeep was at a body shop in Lockwood which is a suburb of Billings. The guy got the jeep all fixed, but I'm still recovering from my surgery so I couldn't go get it. I asked my cousin to go and get it and park it out at his house in the hills near Lockwood until I could get someone to pick it up. Well, 3 days ago a wildfire started in those hills and yesterday my cousin and his family got evacuated from their house and they left my jeep behind. They took their two vehicles which are new and the police wouldn't let them back in to get anything else. My cousin is hoping that they keep the fire away from his house and telling me that he doesn't think my jeep will burn up, BUT you know the kind of luck I have so......Wouldn't that be the definition of irony if I got it all fixed up and it was looking better than it had in years and then it gets toasted???? AHHH..Life is Good Smiles NancyLee AKA Heidi GT

Debra--I was up in the big city at the end of July and this pilot who was late for a flight was speeding down the street and he took the front bumper, grill and other various things on the front of my jeep off with the back bumper of his pickup truck. It landed across the street on a sidewalk. It's all fixed up now and looks like new. I think that the new front is from a different year's model from mine though because it just looks really different to me somehow. I think it's got a different grillwork. But I have it back and I'm a happy camper although I'm afraid to drive in the city again. Hopefully I won't have to go back there for a long, long time now that I'm done with my Adventures in Chemoland. I can just putz along out here in the rural corner of the state and not worry about crazy jet pilots. That all depends on me keeping track of my keys, etc.!!!!! Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

I really wanted to participate in the thinking and memory challenges conference held here on August 15th. I told my mom on the 14th, I am really looking forward to what they have to say because my chemo brain is getting so bad.

i bet you can guess what happened.

so....did anyone here participate in it? if so, was it good? what did i miss? lol.

Oh, gosh, I also wanted to participate in the conference because I have about 1000 questions to ask, but I, too, forgot about it. I even left the reminder with all my other new e-mails right at the top of the page so I'd remember. But I did go to the Support and Community button at the top and read the transcript of the conference. I printed off some of the different sections to show to the people I work with. Maybe if they see it in print, they'll understand a little better why I have these little memory problems. It sounds like it was very interesting and they give lots of tips on how to keep your mind alert. I like the "Do crossword puzzles" suggestion because it gives me an excuse to do my daily puzzles in the paper. YAY!! Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

I got all loaded up in my car last night and discovered that I had brought my cordless kitchen phone instead of my cell phone. I guess I planned to stay in the driveway? I wonder where it is now. I don't remember bringing it in.

Debra & all my other remote buddies---Guess WHAT????? It's raining/snowing here and I went out to put my jeep in the barn to get it out of the weather and I turned my ankle (the one that I broke almost 3 years ago) and so I limped back into the house and started looking for my air cast AND I found the remote for my DVD player that I've been seeking for the last year and a half. I can't believe the luck. I can now watch the little extras that are on the DVD's that I couldn't access without that stupid little remote. I placed it on top of the DVD player. Now hopefully it will stay put--I haven't yet found the air cast so I wrapped the ankle with an ace bandage for the time being.....But YAY--I found one of my missing remotes----Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

I've lost my cell phone. I did check where I keep my kitchen wireless, but it's not there either. Maybe I should look for an air cast. (I don't own one, but it seemed to work for Nancy Lee)

Okay, I found my phone. It was in my purse in a side pocket I never use. I've been carrying it around with me all this time. My family feels like they have to follow me around and pick my things up for me. Will it get better?

Gosh, Jackie, I sure hope it gets better for both of us or all of us. Today I had everyone at the daycare looking for these two pieces of paper that I had to mail by 4:00. I had them in my hand at 10:30 this morning, but they had mysteriously disappeared by 3:30. We literally retraced every step I had taken and went through every corner of the place until I found them in the bank deposit bag that I had taken with me to the bank at noon time to make the deposit. SIGH!! I told them that I was sorry for driving them all crazy along with myself--They thought it had turned into a nice help in cleaning the daycare. Whatever--Life is Good Smiles NancyLee

Nancy, I am so glad you found your remote!!!!!!!

Candi, I have said this before, I have lost so many cordless phones that I now call them disposable. I never find them (maybe they are with gsg's fallopian tube) so I just buy new ones.

gsg, do you have an air cast? That seems to be the new location for things.
OMG, did you see the sweater for your fallopain tube that Peggy posted? I can't stop laughing!!!!!
