Oh MB... lol...you would absolutely curse if I sent you mine. I sent Vickie a few and she said they were fine, but I don't know if I can ever get a lot made. How are you doing?
Pam
-
Pam,
They definitely grow as you go. I think I just figured out that when you get to the end and chain two--turn--skip the first chain and go into the second. I don't know if it's correct but I think it's finally working for me. I just sent my first batch to Madison, I'll see if she wants to kill me or not!! LOL. Good luck.
Hugs, Jackie

I came across this thread and love this! How can I get involved? I am in the process of learning how to knit and would love to participate if I can get some decent looking squares. Let me know and you all are doing great. I got an afgan made by my church while in the hospital for my masectomy last month and it still makes me smile.

Hi, i've got about 20 squares done ---got liz's address ---who should I send them to? MB, if your bordering, should I send them to you ?? MB-- I was just out by your house today ! We went to Carghtright's Maple tree Inn.
Jackie, I taught myself how to crochet---they might want to kill me too !!!!!
HUGS -
Wow, this is fantastic........so many helping make squares. I started on another afghan tonight (I had been bordering)......
CBJ, the squares are 7x9, using washable yarn, any color, or combination thereof. They can be knitted, crochet or knifty knitter. Perfection is not required.
Hugs and thanks to all...........Madison

May you be surrounded by our love with your new afghan.
You are always in my thoughts!
-
Brenda - Awesome photo! Know that you are loved...
lizws - Hi! You too are going back to work part-time! I have been overwhelmed with it, in addition to a major foot problem. I have a stress fracture in my foot...most likely caused by wear heels for the past 3 weeks - for the first time in 6 years (of course I wonder if it's bone mets) - I worked from home all those years. So I have been totally consumed with Dr appts, new hours, etc. Best wishes to you with your new schedule...
I MUST FIND TIME TO CROCHET! I miss it!
The lastest afghan is a beauty...as usual!
Border Patrol: I will get you some squares...come hell or high water! lol Miss you all very much.
-
Thank you for the picture, Brenda! It inspired me to make more squares...er...rectangles.
-
Pam, go ahead and send them too me ...I would love to border whatever you send.... I can even make triangles into rectangles....lol... thanks for asking I am doing fine, trying to catch up at work... but sneaking in to check on everyone....
hugs

Hi kids, I haven't disappeared. I'm working a bit more than planned.
Brenda/BMD - so glad you got your hugs.

I just started to border one of the squares I've knitted. Ugh! I have never bordered something that was knitted before - the darn row edges are hard to work with, (kind of loopy) so I really admire you borderettes that have done this over and over!
My most recent square was done with a better edge on it. You slip the first and last stitch every other row (instead of knitting or purling) and then those stitches are worked as normal on the alternate rows. It looks much nicer and will probably be easier to border.
Laura, the Border Patrol comment really made me laugh!
-
Brenda - great picture. So happy you recieved your hugs!
Have been making some squares but I haven't been on the boards much.
Hugs to all,
Sue
-
Madison,
I hope you received my squares. I'm so nervous because ever since I mailed them the board has been so quiet. I hope I didn't discourage you by the way they look
LOL!!!
Anyway, hope everyone is okay. And by the way, I got much better and finally made them even so who should I mail the new ones to? The border patrol? Please let me know.
Take care,
Hugs, Jackie
-
hiya jackie !
i'm still here just been busy taking a friend to daily rads for skin cancer - she's 88 and hasn't driven since WWII (and the world is a safer place for it ... she'd still be sitting at the first 4-way stop worrying if it was really her turn)
i'm assuming everyone still has plenty of my squares
-
Jenni if they need bordered I can do them,
lol... still at the four way.. I know its not funny, but my dad did that last night....
hugs
MB
-
Jackie, yes I received your beautiful squares......thank you bunches
I apologize for not popping in her more often....I'm having blood pressure problems....was much too high, and now going too low.
Hugs, Madison
-
Madison,
I'm so sorry to hear about your blood pressure. Please take care of yourself. I hope it gets straightened out real quick!!!
Hugs, Jackie
-
Madison, you take care of yourself..........blood pressure does funny things to you, for sure.
Haven't heard if anyone needs some "knifty knitter" squares or not......let me know when your supply has dwindled and I'll get going on em!
neesie
-
Madison,
Glad to hear from you, not glad to hear the news though. What causes blood pressure to do that?
Take care of yourself. Just know that you're always in our thoughts.
love,
Bren
-
OK, is there room for a rank ametuer?
I would love to try the knifty knitter and make some contributions...slowly, very slowly.
Bev
-
Bev, most of our ladies started out as ameteurs..........yes, please join us.
Neesie makes knifty knitter squares. I also think I have received some from MB.
