I had never heard the song that David A sang last night either ... Margo I've got the dark clouds too ... it was sprinkling a bit ago ... I think that the rain is on the way ....
Doreen
-
The clouds were gorgeous for some reason. Never did get rain or sprinkles.
Maybe during the night.
Well good old on line news spoiled it as far as who goes home tonight.
I shouldn't have looked but I did.
I'll watch at nine anyway.
Margo, did you get rain down your way? Did you see on our local news about the seven car accident on the Golden Gate Bridge.
It is so rare to have even a fender bender on our beautiful bridge.
The news said some guy drove right into the opposite lanes around 2:30 today.
Doreen, Are you way up north?
Wishing all a good night!
-
Sahalie, are you in the Bay Area?
Up here in Portland we had a little snow today. There was even more at the coast. We were planning a trip over on Saturday to help pick up litter with the SOLV (Stop Oregon Litter and Vandalism) group, but it sounds like it's going to be too cold.
Well none of you have written in about the show tonight, so I'll wait until morning. I don't want to give away the results.

OK...I'm in Alaska, so I must get the news last....and I know who went home, so I think it is safe to talk about
I was amazed with one of the people in the bottom 3, but was OK with who went home....

Hi Deb,
Great to see you here today, how are you feeling?????
Well Ladlies,
What do you all think?????? I feel the same as you Deb , very surprised with Syehsa being in the bottom 3, I thought her perormance Wed was very good. I was alittle surprised with Jason, but thought he may be in the bottom with his performance the other night. He really needs to make a change this week.
Ohhhhhhh and i hated to see Chekezee go this early when there are others less talented... He wouldn't have made it to the last two, and they all have to go at some point, but in my opinion, Kristy and Ramielle are hanging in there too long.... I just don't get it ......
Kimberly Loche looked really beautiful last night... I haven't heard many of her songs on the radio here, how about you guys???
Until next weeks show, take care ladies...and Big Hugs KLynn
-
Good Morning!
I was sad to see Chikezie go home. I agree with you KLynn, it should have been Ramielle or Kristy.
I shouldn't bring this up, but do you think there is a race card playing into this? Chikezie and Syesha are so talented, and shouldn't have been the bottom two. Maybe African Americans don't watch this show as much so those two singers didn't get as big a fan club. I voted 15 times for Syesha. I really like her. Felicia, what do you think?

Oh My GOD!!!!!! David Cook was so amazing. I just downloaded Billie Jean AND Eleanor Rigby on Itunes. I wasn't really enthralled with last year's contestants, but this year, I am a BIG David Cook fan. The last time I got this excited was when Elliott Yamin was on the show. Love that kid!!!!
Anne -
Oh, I ADORED Elliot Yamin. I felt even more strongly about him when I learned about his mom going through cancer tx. It was the same time I was going through mine, so I immediately felt like they "belonged" to me. I am thrilled with all his success. He is doing great.
I was a bit surprised with the bottom 3. I expected it to be Kristy, Ramiele, and Ezie. I didn't think it would have been Jason-he was too funny last night when Ryan was making him freak out that he wasn't safe.
It's getting good! I didn't know there was gossip about Carly being pregnant. I read that Jessica Sierra is pregnant in jail (poor girl-she is really screwed up). I cracked up that Carly admitted that she had Spanx on the other night to make herself look thinner. Too funny.
-
Sahaile - I live up near Chico ...a couple of hours north of Sacramento. I got a little rain - not much ...
I'm sad that Chakezie went home - and agree - he wouldn't have made it to the top 2 ... but he's sooo much better than Kristy and Ramiele ... I was surprised that Syesha was in the bottom 3 ... and Jason does need to step it up for next weeks' performance.
David Cook is currently looking like THE ONE TO BEAT!!!
Doreen
-
It's snowing here in Oregon--will winter EVER end? I do agree that Syesha is WAY to good to be in the bottom 3. I know Kristy Lee Cook is from Oregon, but she really needs to go! Jason is great but vocally he's not as strong as the others. Still, I really like him! I do agree that David is the one to beat! That is so funny about Carly--I didn't hear that part about the spandex. She does look a bit chubby lately, though. It must be so hard to be under that kind of scrunity!!
-
I was kind of surprised to see Chakezie go last night too.
With the judges constantly telling them they are picking the wrong songs I don't know how they have any self esteem left.
They need a break and be told only about their singing ability for a couple weeks and leave the song choices alone.
I know Brook gets accolades like crazy but I just don't see the big deal in her.
To me she is generic. I think Syeshia sings circles around her.
David Cook is amazing.
It seems Jason isn't getting it that this is a heavy duty competition and he needs to step it up.
This is where I though Chakezie was really trying.
Kristy finally got something positive said to her.
Carly is a professional and in my opinion doesn't belong in this competition. Something hinky about that.
Sally, I'm about 45 minutes north of San Francisco in the wine country.
Doreen, I love Chico. Many happy memories there swimming in the river in your 1000 degree heat.
No rain last night just magical beautiful clouds for a short time then clear sky with stars and moon.
It's gorgeous today just a bit on the cool side.
Anne, Have you been to the Roloff family farm up there in Oregon?
I love their show.
-
I really, really like Brook and hope she goes all the way.
-
Hi Madison,
Welcome to Idol chat....We use to talk in the chat room, I haven't been there lately, how have you been??? I also love Brooke, although not this weeks song as much..She has a beautiful voice and great stage pressence..I think she now has some strong competion with David Cook, he was fantastic Tues. night. Carly and Syesha aren't giving in too easily either..
Whoopschangedmyname, I didn't even remember Jessica Sierra at all, I had to google her . What a mess!!!!! Not sure if its my chemo brain or if she was not very good and forgettable...Hope she gets some help, hate to see them go down that road.. Take care all ..Hugs Klynn
-
Sahalie - I love Chico too ... but its' too darn hot there .. I actually live up above Paradise in the foothills w/ the pine and cedar trees ... so it's much much cooler here than Chico ... I love Chico but can't take that heat in the summertime ...
Yeah - Carly and the Spanx was funny ...
I don't remember Jessica Sierra either but just googled her ... yikes - that girl is really messing her life up - drug addiction, alcohol addiction, sex tape and facing an 11 year prison sentence ... holy schomoley ...
Doreen
-
Doreen,
Paradise is beautiful.
Just thinking about it I swear I can smell the pine trees.
I don't remember Jessica Sierra either on Idol.
-
Jessica Sierra was really quite annoying on Idol. I didn't really like her.
She was also on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (who I think is a genius). Shortly after that, she had a relapse. Her mom died of a drug overdose years ago.
Pretty sad. -
I was pissed that Syesha was in the bottom three, below Kristy and Ramielle. That's just wrong! Chickeze shouldn't have gone before either of them either!
David Cook has been my favorite since the beginning, I just Love him!
I Really enjoyed Elliot Yamin. Anybody have his CD? Is it good?
Brooke ... now if anyone else messed up when they started and had to start over, would they get praised for it? I don't Think so!!! I do like her but at times find her just sweetness to possibly be a bit made up. Maybe she's overrated?
I remember Jessica Sierra because my daughter had a friend named Jessica and a friend named Sierra, so she was rooting for her! What a sad story she's become.
Madison, very nice to see you!
-
Sahalie, I saw the news lines last night but AI hadn't yet come on so I refused to read them since I was going to watch them. Tonight I saw on the news a computer enhancement of that accident - what a mess. Rain, not a lot, but rain nevertheless, will be here tomorrow.
Sally, it's hard to picture snow now. Sahalie is somewhere around here but I haven't figured out where.
KLynn, I agree - Kimberly looked great and tonight I saw her dress was designed by Christian who won I think it was Project Runway. I haven't heard her songs on the radio either.
So who is going to do country well next week? I think it's time for Ramiele and Kristy to go home.
Anne, I think David Cook was awesome, would never have thought to do Billie Jean that way.
Whoops, Spanx are great. Or she makes one for Target called Bare Assets.
Char, I was surprised Jason was in the bottom 3, along with Syeshia.
Hi Madison.
Til next week girls.
-
Margo, I agree, Jason also should not have been in the bottom three. Okay, maybe some want to see something different from him but I really like his style. He's still more interesting to me than Kristy or Ramiele!
Kimberly sure has changed a lot since her audition .. she's looking great and her dress was nice ... although I kept looking at her boobs thinking they were going to pop out of there! lol very cool that the winner of PR designed her dress!
-
Back to Elliot Yamin for a minute: I loved his CD (it is in the changer in my car - constant rotation). He is an incredible talent and so, so reminiscent of Donnie Hathaway...
I don't necessarily think it is a race conspiracy at hand, but you've gotta know by now that the contestants in the final 20 are picked not only for how they sound but for their stage presence and, yes, their uniqueness factor (which, I'm sure their ethnicity factors into). White guys with dreds are unique, so folks like Jason get in. Imagine the final 20 without any people of color or any blond-haired, blue-eyed contestants - wouldn't happen. But I think we're more forgiving (not quite the word I'm looking for, but it will do) when someone like Kristy has a few off weeks - especially when she sings a patriotic song like she did this week, if that makes sense.
Syesha and Chikezie's downfall may not have just been in their song choices, but their ARTIST choices: I knew the Gladys Knight and the Pips song Syesha sang (because my mom wore the grooves off the daggone record when I was a kid), but I'm sure most of America did not and I like Chikezie, but Luther Vandross is like Celene or Whitney or Mariah or Stevie Wonder: you just don't even TRY to remake a song he made famous because there is no way in hell you'll even come close to doing as well as the original. Perhaps if he would have struggled a bit with a John Mayer song or something a bit more mainstream/pop-ish, he may have survived for another week.
Edited to add: That being said, Ramielle and Kristy need to go already!
Just my two cents...
-
For what its worth - my 2 cents -
I found Chikeezie's a bit boring. I think Jason does need to step it up - but I LOVED his song - Hallelujah. Love, Love David Cook - but I think he needs to try something different as well. I like Brooke as well, she reminds of Carly Simon. What about the 17yr.old - David I think is his name??? I think he is great also.
Who do you all think are going to be the final 3???
Valerie
-
HI again everyone! I just love reading all of your comments and I agree with almost all of them. Sahlie--I haven't been to the Roloff farm but I live REALLY close and drive by there all the time. It is so beautiful out there. It's hard to believe how rural it is, what with being so close to the Portland area! I agree with Madison and Klynn that Brooke is great, but she doesn't have the strongest voice. However, I love her tone and originality and heart! I agree with Angel that Sysesha NEVER should have been in the bottom 3! I do wonder about that and hope it's not racial! And just like Felicia, I have Elliott's CD in my car CD player and constantly listen to it. I got a new ipod for my birthday (V-day!) and so now I have Elliott's songs on it and I have added David Cook's renditions of "Billy Jean" and "Eleanor Rigby" to the mix. Can't wait for next Tuesday to see what he does! Valerie: in answer to your question, I think the final 3 will be: David C, David A and Carly. I would have loved to see Michael Johns in there but lately I think he has been shouting through songs and I feel like he's always just at the edge of his range, which makes me uncomfortable, like he's going to crack his voice at any minute!!!
Anne -
Hi all,
I just listened to Elliott Yamin on youtube. Very good. I thought he was one of the best on Am Idol, and I'm happy for him that he's gained so much confidence since then. When he was a contestant he was self-conscious about his teeth. Now he looks quite handsome.
My favorite Am Idol moment still is Bo Bice singing In A Dream:
-
My favorite Idol moment was Catherine McPhee singing Over the Rainbow - I just love that song.
Anne - I love the Roloff's - its a great show. You live in a beautiful part of the country.
Valerie

One of my favorite moments on Idol was when Fantasia sat on stage and sang" Summertime " (I think that was the name of it). It was one of the first times someone sang without the band and she tried something different...I also love the " Heard it throught the grapevine "song when she sang it..She was one of my favorites right from the beginning that year..Another great song which brings tears to my eyes everytime, is when Kelly Clarkston sang " A Moment Like This" when she won..How cute was she shen she sang that song????
Hey Val , nice to see you here....How are you feeling??? How's the Hubby doing with chemo????
Hugs KLynn
-
Alittle late here commenting but....
Is it just me or is the world F'neheimered? As cute as I think that ramiele chick is, she wasn't in the bottom three this week or last week and in my opinion should have went home long ago. She hasn't had one good song yet. They've been slow and boring mostly and then like this week she was totally out of tune on every big note.
I was upset chikeze went home. He really doesn't shine when he does those slow songs. But man does he nail the gospel type big songs. So I'm very disappointed.
Absolutely Absolutely love David Cook and agree both Billie Jean and Hello were brilliant. And he is very Daughtry like; taking songs and putting a rock take on them. Just love it.
I like brooke, but she's a little nicey nice and doesn't seem to take criticism well so I don't know how well she'd handle the business.
I really didn't care for David A's song. I felt like I was at church camp. But at least he remembered his lyrics
.
Glad to see Michael Johns step up his game a bit. He just looks the part but hasn't been very bold. Hope he continues.
-
KLynn and Valerie,
Thanks for the memories...I also loved those two moments. I cried when Fantasia sang Summertime. It's a beautiful song from George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.
There's always some who get into the top 10, and you think what the h*ll?! Sonjaya Malakar (sp?) comes to mind.
For the final 3, I think it will be David A, David C, and Michael Johns. I think the girls will be shut out this year. Carly has an incredible voice, but there's something about her that's not loveable. Maybe a little too Goth.
sally
-
SLH---I have a feeling you are right about the final 3 (with Carly coming in 4th) with the final 2 being David Cook and Michael Johns. Carly has a great voice, but she is very intense (could smile more when singing), and that huge tattoo is so distracting---I could focus more on her singing if she wore long sleeves!!!!!
Anne

I dont get to watch AI much. I was very disappointed that Chikeezie went home as I not only thought he was a good artist, but a good entertainer.
My second favorite was Jason.

Did any of you like Blake "Beatboxer" Lewis?
I adored him, as well as Jordan. I thought everything Blake did was very cool (especially "You Give Love a Bad Name"). I saw him on Ellen a while ago and didn't like his music, but liked when he performed on AI not too long ago.Jordan, who was so stinkin' cute then, just doesn't do it for me now as a performer. I don't know....thoughts on her?
I still adore Diana DeGarmo. I'd totally buy a real CD of hers (she put out a hokey one with just 3 tunes on it).
