Oh Sue....3 more....honey...you are almost there!! Just be sure to rest today...maybe take tomorrow off?  Then you have 3 days off!  Take it easy honey!  Love you!

I am at work today.  Feeling, much, much better!  I actually had an appetite today. My stomach is better, my head is about 90% without pain, and my throat is just a little scratchy. Crossing my fingers and toes that it all stays this way.  I am putting in a full day of work today...11 hrs.  Hope that doesn't do me in!

Mel...look for your books today...you should get them!

    xoxo

I'm so relieved to hear that you're feeling better, Lisa.  I was starting to get really worried about you.  Just remember not to over-do!

Oh Sue!  I really wish you had a port.  I guess I still don't understand why they never gave you one with as many tx's you're having.  Trust me, it's worth the scar it leaves behind.  Why do you leave your coat over your head during your tx?  I can just see you sitting there--cursing bootface and scowling under your coat.  LOL!!!  I know it's not the least bit funny, but you're such a character, Sue.  I wish we all lived closer to you so we could go with you physically to your tx's, rather than just in spirit.

    Love and hugs to all,

    Karen

Sue, were you wearing the wiggie I sent to you? What do the nurses think of it? I am with Karen, I don't know why they did not put a port in for all the treatments you are getting. My mom had a port put in and she only took 4 treatments, though before the 3rd treatment, it clogged and they had to take it out and do the last ones in her arm. She also had bad veins and requested a certain nurse to put the IV in. Her onc has offices in three locations and for her last treatment she found out that the nurse she wanted would be at Hickory and not Lenoir, she asked if she could get the treatment at Hickory (20 miles away) just so she could get the good sticker.

    Sue,

What a champion you are to endure so much! You are getting so very close!!!

I spend my morning on the phone two hours with doctor's offices and insurance companies trying to fix a billing mess that has been mixed up since my visit in September!

It's been a nightmare trying to get this all fixed and fingers pointing all directions and the billing company is in another state--as is the insurance, etc... I was on hold so long it finally just hung up on me...

Anyway, I was finally told that nothing could be changed anywhere, but the doctor's office who had been paid for 2/3 of the visit finally felt sorry for me---cuz it was so weird to have the insurance pay for two of the three items and then deny the third view of this ultrasound and use a different dianosis code--like I'd had two visits for two different things--- that today after over six months of phone calls and stuff I was finally told that the doctor said to just 'wipe' the account as paid--and remove the charge!

Ladies, that is an $800 charge just 'vanished'...

I'm speechless... really... I was up all night (insomnia) crying at 230AM and hubs had gotten up and I told him I felt so useless not working right now and not being able to make a difference--and well, today, this little victory made me feel like I did make a difference.

I'm thanking God and a very kind doctor's office manager and doctor (radiologist) right now... There was no way to ever fix the mix up and they just wrote it off--you have no idea how relieved I am... and now, those collection agency calls that were waking me up (machine calling at 7AM) will stop -- even though there were countless notes in my file that this was being reprocessed I was still being hassled...

I have never had anything go to collection in my life, so you can imagine how frustrating this had been.

Amen, it's over.... just 'poof' gone... Cool

Geez, my post vanished because they decided to do maintenance on the website.  Grrrrr!!

I just wanted to commend you on your perseverance, Wren.  I swear, the insurance companies do stuff like that on purpose, hoping that people will just give up and pay the money.  How great that your doctor's office decided to write off your account balance.  I worked in billing and managed care for a psychiatrist for years.  That man didn't want us to write anything off (we did it anyway--we just didn't tell him Wink).  That jerk would have us send people to collections for balances of $50 or less.  Ridiculous!!  Trust me, that $800 write-off isn't going to hurt that doctor one bit!!

Rest well tonight.  I'm glad that weight is off your shoulders!

    Hugs,

    Karen

Tried to log in earlier but it was closed for maintenance. Sue - 3 more to go! Even if you had only one more to go it would still be miserable for you but you are whittling them away and any tiny remnants of bootface are probably just a smoking bit of ash by now. The last 3 treatments are just extra insurance.

Wren - that is such great news about the waiving of the fee! I just can't believe these insurance companies - money is their god and they couldn't care less about individual suffering.

Love to all of you and everyone I haven't had time to mention.

I'm sorry Sue, I was the one that started with 3 - I can't count. I have been making the wiggie's for the local wig bank and the stylist that does most of the wig fittings say that the ladies love them, even the crazy colors that I have done them in. (pink/purple striped, orange/yellow/red multi, grey/black multi, solid dk blue, solid light blue, bright red) I use what ever yarn I can get on sale, the regular price for the yarn is about $5.00 per skein but I have found some at discount stores for $1.00 and it takes a little over one skein to make one.

Just a quick check in from work again!!

That is great news on Valsul!! yeah...so happy!!! Bye, bye...bootface!

Wren, I am so happy that the doctor took care of "your bill"!! That is such a relief for you!

Mel...oh my gosh!!! I love the pics of the WofO!! You are so clever!! I feel like I want to go home and pop in the movie!!

Today, I feel pretty good again. This morning, my head started up, and my stomach was queasy...but it got better as the day went on.  The appetite is slowly coming back.  I just ate a chocolate bar..because it sounded good!!  I see the ps tomorrow for a follow up.  That should be uneventful.  It's been 6 weeks already..but I know I am still not allowed to lift, etc.  I feel it in my stomach, if I do try to lift even light things.  I guess it will just take time.  I think the anti-depressants are kicking in...I do not feel as blue. Thank God!!

Sue, I can see you at your oncy's office...throwing your hood over your head!! Karen is right...you are such a character!! WE ALL LOVE YOU DEARLY!!  4 more to go!! woohooo!!

Sheila, that was nice you made a wiggie for Sue.  Is that a little hat?  Very sweet of you!  I think it's wonderful that you make them for a local place as well. Very thoughtful, I am sure they really appreciate it.

Thanks to everyone for your support and good wishes.  I know I have been a downer lately. I am sorry.  You ladies are the best..and my rocks!  I don't know what I would do without you??

Mel...what day do you leave for Tennessee?  Did you get the books yet?

Oh Sue...you asked about my uniform.  I have not worn the dress up uniform for awhile.  If I do, it's blue slacks, white blouse, a scarf, sometimes a vest or a red sweater set.  But since my surgery, since my tummy is so sensitive, I wear the casual "ramp" clothes.  Just blue dickie work pants and our work "golf" style shirt or sweatshirt. It's much more comfy!

    Better get back to work!

    xoxo

AE - thinking of you and saying special prayers that your biopsy will go well and show NED. Your selfless, generous character shines through all your posts. I often think of you and UB.

Sue - as usual - you are such an inspiration! You are feeling rotten but you rise above it and make us smile. I would love to be a fly on the wall when you have your treatments! I am sure you make everyones' day when you go there and spread smiles and laughter in your wake. Thank you so much for posting that sweet picture of Shirlann's Cleo and Dusty - I love the paw stretched out touching the wary dog's nose! Too cute!

So sorry to hear that Valsul is in hospital but very, very glad that her treatments have squished the bootface. Please pass on my love to her.

Sheila - I didn't realise that you made wigs! How talented is that!! It must be such time consuming work and so creative! How did you learn to do it? Did you teach yourself or did you go to a class?

    Love to everyone

Hi all!!!!!  Guess what I had for lunch today Mel?  Green Giant baby brussel sprouts!  I just about gagged as they cooked in the microwave because they smell just like the ones my mom used to cook.  I was not going to let that stop me though.  I just HAD to try them--and I did!  They definitely are the best tasting brussel sprouts I've ever eaten.  Still not my favorite, but a big improvement over my mom's (sorry mom).

Sorry, but I will NOT be trying the sardines in mustard sauce.
