Oh lord help me!!! Forgot to mention that dh called me today. He'd been chatting with a co-worker who used to live in Orlando. The guy told him that we can expect 90 degree weather with 100% humidity in August. UGH!!!!!!!!!! I'll frickin' die!!!!!!!! I hate extreme heat--especially with high humidity. Especially now with these stupid heat flashes I keep having. What the heck am I gonna do?
xoxoxo

Karen - did I miss something?? Are you going to Orlando??? In August?? I DO NOT recommend you do it!!! LOL. I went to Disney in August MANY years ago (when I could tolerate the heat) and it was friggin hot!!! The ocean & pools were like bath water. I can't imagine what it would be like when you are having a hot flash!!!
It was unseasonably hot in the Keys when we were there in October - 90 + and it was very uncomfortable. All i can say is - Good Luck!!!
Lisa - glad you are home safe and sound. Curl up with Oliver and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Shirlann- I keep meaning to ask you. I was thinking about your "pencil" problem - can it be you need a new mouse???
Off to watch - "what not to wear"- Karen let your husband know, I'll save a spot on the couch for him!!! lol.

Oh Karen, honey...with hot flashes it will be bad. Florida is really, really bad in the summer! Unless you are at the beach! Wear really cool, skimpy clothes?? Drink lots of ice water.....I have been there in August..and it is hot and HUMID. I am not a fan of Florida...unless my butt is parked next to the Gulf or the Ocean!
sorry.........You will still have a nice vacation!!!
-
AE....I will join you....I think I will turn on the TV and tune in to join Stacy and Clinton!! Love it!! I'll be thinking of you and Uncle Bill!! Love to you both!!!
I agree AE...I think our dear Shirlann needs a new mouse...that happened to me..
-
Sue, honey, you know you are not one to stay at home, it drives you nuts. So try to plan the next day with something, go see the nearby museum, or some place (we all have them) that is nearby, that you have never gone to.
Ulla, ask your doc for Effexor. It is an anti-depressive, but they found, by accident, that a side effect of this drug helps with hot flashes. A lot of our gals take it for this reason. Nothing to do with hormones.
We went to see "The Counterfiters" today, a German film. It was good, but kinda sad too.
Sue, baby, you just need to keep busy, honey, you don't do well at home. Now is the time to think of our TV show, "Jon & Kate Plus 8". This sweet couple could not have a baby so they had in vitro and got two beautiful twin girls. She wanted another baby, he did not. But she just kept after him and he gave in. Well, they had SIX, that's right, SIX, all at once. I really don't personally think he has forgiven her!
My pencil is acting up, but remember, you could have sextuplets and a pair of twins only 2 years older! ARGHHHHHHH
Love you all, Shirlann

Hi Karen, we were there last in October, and I am not kidding, we went out of our hotel to just go a block to a 7-11 and we could not make it. It is not hot, it is UNBEARABLE. I mean it felt like we had stepped into a shower after someone had just used it. You could not do a thing.
Hugs, SHirlann

Hi Karen! I love having breakfast for dinner!
The first time I did that my o/h looked at me like I was nuts! He is sooo "black and white" Me , I love living in the grey area!lol
I know what you mean about coming here and everyone has left.
I have been trying to come as soon as I get home from work so I can say hello to Sue and all instead of good night.
Oh my Karen , I have horrible hotflashes , including sweating , I would never go to Fla. in August! I have a hard enough time here in Oh when it gets horribly humid. Take your chillow pillow with you! And make sure you are by the water , be it ocean or pool. Gosh , I'm starting to flash just thinking about it. I don't tolerate heat well at all. When I was a little girl and would be playing outside in the summer , running around and doing normal kid stuff , I would always end up over heated and my mom would strip me to my underwear and put a cold cloth on my head and a fan on me. I would have a horrible heat headache. After I slept , I would feel better. I guess its no wonder I have bad hotflashes!lol
Well ladies , after all this talk about food , I am making (first time) slow cooker short ribs tomorrow. Always wanted to try them (must be the hungarian in me) So tomorrow I make them! I couldn't decide to make them savory or bbq. I checked out some recipes and decided to go bbq.
OK , enough babbling from me.
Shirlann , get a new mouse. I miss you.xxxx
And to all you lovely ladies ,
-
Oh Melody LOLOLOL....I am sooooo hungry now....
Karen I am going to have bacon and eggs for my tea tomorrow and banoffee pie...and I am going to eat 2 apples tomorrow as I havent been able to eat any with the mouth being so sore....well tomorrow I am going to crunch away ....yum yum ....
Mel what time is it there now xxx
-
Sue...it is 9:20 here. And it's still snowing!!
Mel...I love how you said...I like living in the grey!! Amen sister!! Me too! Your short ribs sound sooooooooo good!! I love them!! Barbecue anything...love it.
I do sound better Sue...what was the tip off...me yelling in my head at my passengers?? haha...oh my...I just couldn't believe some people! Myself...I like to fly..would I want to be up in a plane that couldn't land??? NO!!!
K...now I am really going to cuddly with Oliver...I have my flannel jammies on...time to cuddle!!!
xoxo

Sue , Boo! You can be up anytime you want! You are on vacation! No clocks , just r and r. The "pencil" is Shirlann's cursor. Probably needs a new mouse like the other ladies suggested.
Remember Sue , don't think of "oh my what will I do that I'm not working" . For one thing , It will fly by , so make some plans. Watch Gone with the Wind. Is your O/H on nights? Drag his butt out to the afternoon matinee. Like Shirlann said , go to a museum or a place you haven't been yet. And , we'll all be here for you when Tuesday comes. You can sit next to me on the roller-coaster
It will be OK. Remember we are all in this together! Sweet dreams Sue.xxxx
-
Hey ladies , I was just thinking , because we have been talking so much about food lately , What foods don't you like?
I'll start. I don't like olives and I don't like spam.
-
Geez, I think my dh and I will have to have a serious discussion about this Disneyworld in August thing. Originally, we were going to go in June, but the resort we've chosen to stay at is booked already for June. Of course, there was availability at the Grand Floridian resort, but the cost is over $1,000 more. I don't think so!! I'd rather spend that money on something else. Like FOOD!!!!
Ooohh, my casserole smells so good. It's 7pm here and dh isn't home yet. I'm eating without him if he's not home when the timer goes off.
Love you all!!
Karen
-
Blech!! I hate olives and Spam too. I think the food I hate the most is probably brussel sprouts. So nasty!!
-
Oh yea! Eggplant too. Uck!
-
Life is so funny. I love eggplant and brussel sprouts. But I'm glad we agree on spam and olives.
-
MARMALADE LEMON CURD
-
Sue! Toast and marmalade and tea, YUM! I don't think I have had lemon curd. Sounds like a lemmon that has gone bad!
-
Sue - what are you doing up missy???? LOl
-
...I think it can be called Lemon Cheese OMG
Well it is 3 30 am ...I just ate 2 hot cross buns ...and some buttery toast .......mmm mmm
I must go now ...or at least switch off...lol...I will never sleep xxx
xxx
-
YIKES AE LOL ...You made me jump!!! I was just checking Melody was being good xxx
lol sweetdreams xxx
-
I am laughing my head off AE ...my o/h is telling me off for being awake .....hahahaha..LOL....he was laughing at you ..lololol asking why I was up LOLOL
Right Melody I will go now and leave AE in charge of you....be good ...lol xxx
-
Please I have to switch off now...I am in trouble ...can somebdy let me know what the heck is eggyplant.... what the heck is this...I though eggs came from hens .....xxx Get back to me quick I am allowed 5 mins max ..then o/h is pulling plug
-
Sue! Where did you get that pic of me!?! But there should be a baloon saying "I don't know why I gain weight " as I am chowing down!lolxxxx
Nite Sue...
-
Well, marmalade is okay--not my favorite, but I don't hate it. Can't say if I like lemon curd or not. I've never tried it. Doesn't sound very appealing, does it?
Ewwww, Mel! Do you really like brussel sprouts? My mom used to fix them with boiled potatoes and meat with lots of gravy. I'd mush them up with my potatoes and pour tons of gravy on them just to be able to eat them. They taste so bitter to me.
You'd better be back in bed Sue--silly girl!!!!!!!!!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Its a veggie. Purple in color on the outside. White-ish on the inside. You can soak it in milk to take out the bitterness before cooking it. "Eggplant Parmasean" is great!
-
Eggplant grows on a vine, doesn't it Mel? It's purple and looks sort of like a squash to me. It's rubbery when cooked--at least it was when I ate it. Blechhhhhhhhhhhh!! Sorry Mel.
-
Sue - o/h is a wise man - NOW GET TO BED!!!
By the way, eggplant is a veggie - you don't have it there????
-
My goodness Karen, what DO you eat???? Now I know why you are so thin!!
-
Karen , buy some green giant's frozen brussel sprouts. You can make them in the microwave. I didn't think I liked them , but those are sooo good , and are not bitter at all. Try it.
