You eat the whole thing...they're very tender and tasty. The consistency is like cooked cabbage, but slightly drier. The ones they serve at the salad bars are rather small, about the size of your thumb. You can eat one in a single bite if you stuff your mouth, but two bites are better.

Some Greek restaurants serve larger ones as an appetizer or several as an entré.

honeygirl, again, I have only seen them in the international aisle of my supermarket. I think they have to be soaked or at the very least blanched. I think the whole process is very much like making stuffed cabbage.

I have even seen prepared dolma packed in olive oil in jars. Just open the jar and pop them on a tray for a great hors d'ouevre.

Well, to add to the food discussion, I am making some yummy risotto tonight...the old fashioned way. Lots of stirring, fresh parmesean cheese, a little onion. Got to go get it going. It's almost dinner time here in NY.

Time for rest and relaxation! Yes Sue , cook things you have always wanted to try. Go somewhere with a friend. Even if its to the movies or lunch. Keep busy doing things you like so you won't spend it thinking of bootface.xxxx

Sue, my left eyelid twitched for at least a month after my last chemo.  It drove me nuts!!  Also, I had a lot of lightheadedness.  I'm sure what's going on with you is from chemo.  I wish you were done.  It doesn't feel right that Ulla and I are finished and you still have two months worth of it left.  It will go by quickly though.

    xxoxoxo

Ulla, my heart breaks for you when you talk about missing your mom.  My mom has always been my best friend.  She is the one person in this world that I can count on no matter what.  My dad too, of course, but he's pretty debilitated.  Will you tell her about your bc when you do see her?  You'll be all finished with tx's and will have hair again by then.  I think she'll be able to handle it.  God bless you for protecting her the way you have.  You're such a good daughter!

    Hugs,

    Karen

    Love and hugs to everyone,

    Karen, I'm HERE!!!!

All I have to say is TGIF!!!   I had a "Sue" kinda  week at work -  HORRIBLE!!!! So glad it is over.

All this talk of food made me think of my grandma's stuffed cabbage - the best ever.

Ulla - my heart breaks when you talk of how you miss your Mom.  My situation  is similiar to Sue's - I was 9 when I lost my Mom.  She was sick so much I barely remember her.Cry

I have been meaning to tell you Ulla- your English has improved considerably since we first met.  I notice it more and more in your writing - Way to Go Girl!!!

Sue - so is this the start of your holiday????  Enjoy it bff. Thanks for the emails to UB,he is getting such a kick out of  them.  Great pics by the way.

    Love you all,

    bbl.  AE

You ladies have made me hungry!! Ulla...your Dolma sounds good!  I love anything spicy!  It does remind me of my Grandmother's cabbage rolls.  When do you get to see your mom again Ulla?? Mom's are such a treasure...and sometimes...you don't realize it until they are gone!Cry

I made it home safely from work today. But oh my...what a day from hell!  Our planes could not land, due to poor visability!! Believe it or not...there were people who were not understanding!!  I wanted to say..hello...turn around look out the window...THERE IS A FLIPPIN BLIZZARD OUT THERE...YOU IDIOTS!! Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok..got that off my chest.  I know tomorrow will be just like today, if not worse.  I have to work from 9-5pm.  We have several inches out there now...but they are saying by tomorrow evening, we could have up to 14-15 inches of snow!!!!!!!!

    Hunker down Mel!!!

My girls are out for the evening....I knew I would not see Alise while she is home...haha.  So, just me and Oliver tonight.  I made a delicious steak and potatoe and steamed  broccoli for dinner.  It was very tasty!! I was so hungry....I worked from 9am-4pm...and did not have a break...it was so busy and crazy.

I am off to relax....I love all of you!!

AND I HATE BOOTFACE...THAT IS MY SHOUT!

    XOXO

    Lisa

Hi AE!  Sorry to hear you had a rotten week.  You'll just have to have an excellent weekend to make up for it.  How is dear UB doing?  Is he tolerating the chemo well?  Gosh, just thinking about doing it again gives me the willies.  I guess I'd have to if bootface came back, but I sure wouldn't like it!!!

So glad you made it home safely Lisa.  I can't believe the weather conditions you guys are dealing with.  It's MARCH for goodness sakes!  Enough snow already!

Well, I'd best go make some dinner.  I'm thinking that a breakfast casserole sounds good for dinner tonight.  We do that every once in a while around here.  Portia's gone--her dad's in town, and she's the only one who doesn't like eggs.  So I'm fixin' eggs for dinner!!

    Hugs,

    Karen
