please help

He sent me a photo last Tuesday of the rest area in Abbington VA that was covered in snow. Unfortunately (or fortunately), depending on if you like the snow, we are just below the levels that get the heavy snow. According to wiccipedia Hudson is at 1200 ft elevation (  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hudson%2C_North_Carolina ) and the snows are usually above 1500. If you head up Hwy 321 just about 30 miles to Boone, NC (home of App State - who beat MI in football last year) they get the big stuff. Last week they got about 6 inches of blowing snow and we got rain. Though I am not complaining about the rain, we were down in rainfall last year about 18 inches and so far this year we are about 2 inches behind. The rain last week took us out of the extreme drought category to severe. There is still no car washing at home, watering grass, or filling swiming pools.

Sue, the water table levels are still low from last years lack of rain. The rivers are down a couple of feet still. It has been a dry winter, we have not gotten the rain/snow/ice this winter that we usually get. Actually they are even talking of putting the homeowners who have wells on some sort of restrictions. They want people to conserve water at home. I am trying to conserve as much water as possible. I keep a large pitcher in the bath and when I am running the water to get the hot to the faucet, I catch it in the pitcher and use that to water my plants and fill Penelope's water bowl.

They have upgraded the drought condition from extreme to severe. In Feb 99% of NC was in the extreme, now I think they said that now 75% is in the extreme but the rest is in the severe category.

I would love to do that , but the pay isn't very good here. Oh one thing I wanted to share , is I like to draw. I will share some of my drawings sometime.

Yes , I was so shocked our electric didn't go off. Everyone around us did. Over 30,000 people have been with out power. Some was turned on last night. But some people are still without. They opened some "warm" shelters for people to get warm and some , for them to sleep there. And now , another storm tomorrow. YUCK! Think spring , think spring...

Shirlann , all I can say is WOW! I would love to spend time with you and hear of all your adventures. How interesting your life has been. I am in awe.

Mel....I love to draw too!  I have done it since I was a very young girl.  My dear Godfather, when I was young, used to always buy me drawing supplies as a Christmas gift. Those are such wonderful memories.  Some day...I will become a dabbling artist....like I have always dreamed of. Going to get a bite to eat. All of this talk of wonderful foods have made be hungry.  I have been lazy since the court hearing. Just going through mail, and reading.  Oh...what is wrong with me!! I hate this!!  No get up and go!!!!!!! Sue, I am glad your mouth is better than before.  I pray that it does not get worse this next tx.  I remember mine only hurting after the first 2 tx of taxotere. I want Banofee pie!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh.......that looks sooooooooooooo good!  I love caramel! Mel...I can't wait to plan our girls day...when the spring finally arrives...we can make a day of it!! By the way Sue UB is upset you haven't answered his email.  Everyday he asks me if you have been online. LOL.  He's such a man - he says he doesn't like to talk with anyone but when someone reaches out to him you can't shut him up!!!!

Sue, that pie sounds scrumptious!!!!  Thanks for posting the recipe, but what the heck is a digestive biscuit??  What about caster sugar?  Caramel and bananas--who would have thought?  Sounds yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Isn't there another dessert that combines bananas with caramel?  What's in bananas foster?  I've seen it served in restaurants, but haven't tried it myself.

Good luck with the port insertion, Nancy.  It was a pretty quick procedure for me.  The port site felt tight for a week or two, but now I forget it's even there most of the time.
