-
MB, I loved the squares you sent in the last batch. I know someone mentioned they liked the "basketweave" square (blue one).
I think printing our favorite directions is a great idea.
See you soon (I just wish it were sooner)
-
Madison Thanks...lol... wish I had time to do more, actually its the faster thing...lol... have a few more but this batch goes to Vickie.....so back to work and then home to find more patterns...lol..
hugs to all

This is so much fun making these square! I crochet easily. Now i am Knitting! I knitted before but never made anything. I forgot how and could never purl. Now I am knitting. I went to the knitting store because i was having trouble with my yarn and needles. The lady showed me the needlesI needed for my yarn, and OH MY GOSH..so many wonderful yarns out there. I told her I was just making squares and how you take these from all over and make them into an afghan of love. When I paid for my purchase, she gave me 8 different wonderful yarns! They are all such fun yarns. Now I am really committed to making more squares. LOL..Question, some of these lovely yarns are thin and make a lighter square. I try looking at the pix of ones made and see what I think are these thinner yarns. Can anyone tell me if these are ok or should I just send one and let you tell me? All are washable yarns.
-
Jacqui,
When we border the squares we give them more stability and when stitched together and anchored to each other they are stabilized even more. We use the knitted and the crochet and knifty knitter squares.
If you think the yarn is too thin, them maybe you can use two strands.
I hope this helps.
Vickie, Liz........any suggestions?
-
jacqui i've used 2 strands doubled the yarn up if it was real thin ...i've also used complementary colors like a brown and yellow or orange and yellow and doubled them up ....
i like purple's idea of posting patterns ... i will try to post my friends "bobble" pattern ...
madison box didnt get mailed yesterday will try to do it today ... had the ultrasound from hell and was at the imaging center for hours ...

OMG!!! I came home early from work today to get myself & DH to the doctor's and found a package at my door.
When I saw Vickie's return address I thought it was the dollar store pelicans we had talked about - lol- but instead it was a BEAUTIFUL AFGHAN!!!! OMG, I'm crying like a baby. IT IS INCREDIBLE!!!
TRULY A LABOR OF LOVE.
I SAID IT BEFORE AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN...........
YOU LADIES ROCK!!!!!
I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH.
DH & I WILL BE FIGHTING OVER IT. (: >)
Now I have to know who did what square!!! teehee.

I think if we post patterns it should be in the crafting thread, that way we can keep this for afagans?..any other ideas?... I am working on some of mine...lol..
-
I like the idea of posting the patterns and the craft thread seems to be a good place or start another thread for the afghan square patterns.
Sheila
-
Valerie, hugaghans to you...
Sending you bunches of hugs and support
-
Valerie............enjoy!!!!!!!! It is meant to make you feel special and safe.....
I'm glad you received the hugaghan!
Neesie
-
I think you can post the patterns in the crafting thread (if you would like).
I am afraid if we make another "afghan thread" we may confuse some individuals. I ALWAYS tell the receipient of an afghan that they can find us at Breastcancer.org.........Community Knowledge Exchange.........Moving Beyond Cancer:Time To Circle the Wagons...Community Afghan Thread.
Please remember that some patterns are copyrighted and some of the links to patterns may say that you can't link to another website. (I just worry about everything
)
Oh my, I hope I made sense
....
-
Isn't it wonderful to wrap yourself in the blanket of love?
-
Valerie, so glad you received a hugaghan mate, another special person to receive such a wonderful gift of support created by many caring and loving sisters.
Peter
-
lol...Madison, yes you are correct and you did make sense, please be careful copying others ... I have been trying to replicate some of my patterns..I make them up as I go...lol...so...may take some time...but I will post some..

-
Hi gals,
Could you call the separate thread "Crochet patterns"? That would make it easy for my goofy brain to find just the crochet patterns.
Thanks,
Bren
-
Bren, good idea...........
-
Great idea Bren...I have lots of pattern links for things other than squares.
Madison...my dear keeper of the list...do you have someone on your list that I need to have an address for? Have another hug in the works.
Deb...LOL...I didn't think anyone would notice the color scheme...decided to play a bit. Would love to do one in all the shades of blue or green or purple...you get the idea...but...just my luck I'd send it to someone who hates blue or green or purple LOL.
Love and hugs all

For once I am glad the temperature has dropped to the teens so tonight I can curl up on the comfy couch and relax with my new hugaghan!!!!
It is just so beautiful, I spread it out on the bed last night to get a really good look at it. I love the different patterns and the way each row was a different color. Truly a one of a kind!!
Thanks again ladies,
Hugs,
Valerie

Hello,
I hope you ladies are up for another member of this wonderful group. I have been following for so long and can't believe the generosity and kindness of all of you. I practiced last night and I haven't crocheted in years but I can do it!!!! I'm on my second square. I hope they are okay. However, I'm going away for five days with my husband. I will mail them and get details when I get back.
I'm excited and looking forward to, hopefully, helping out.
Hugs, Jackie
-
Jackie, Hello and welcome. Thank you so very much for your help.
Hugs, Madison
-
Hi JACKIE! I too hadn't crocheted in years but once I got going I had fun trying new patterns I've never done before. I know some of us get as much out of making the squares as do the recipients of the hugaghans.
-
Valerie - I saw and think I posted to you earlier about your afghan. Isn't it just the greatest feeling when you receive one? I hope it gives you much comfort - you deserve it.
I must confess I can only do one stitch- don't read patterns - I have squares.
Bren saw some of them yesterday and she said they are OK, so I guess I can FINALLY say, I'll be sending some squares very soon. I'm excited!!
-
Hey Guys,
Brenda's got a real nice single crochet stitch going ... very nice, tight even stitches!! She's ready to rock and roll!!
Welcome to all the new gals working on hugaghans!!
-
Ladies,
I just got back from Michael's and bought some black skeins. Who needs them?? pm me your addy and I will get them out this week.
Valerie
-
Valerie,
I just purchased 8 skiens of black yarn (when I buy black, I usually buy all the black yarn on the shelf in the store).
I will send you Vickie and Liz's address.
Thank you.
