I LOVE Bridget Jones' Diary, Jane! The sequel is a crack-up too! Poor Bridget! She always seems to say and do the most inappropriate things!
I hope your sis has a chance to spend some good quality time with you today. How wonderful that you were able to cuddle with her sweet little grandson yesterday. Nothing like the feel and smell of a baby!
No word yet from the onc. I think I'll call her in a couple of hours. Do you all think she would have called by now if they'd found anything on the CT scan?
Love and hugs,
Karen

Olivia , Thank you sooo much for keeping us all updated on your lovely Mom. Your such a sweetheart.xxxx Tell your mom , Mel said hi and when she gets home and settled , I'll give her a call. Thanks Olivia
Hi Sue
! I'm so excited that you had a good day yesterday. You will start having more and more of those days now. Unfortunately , fatigue will stay around awhile. But nothing like it was on chemo. I hope the bath helps. Your boys are so sweet. They love their mum very much , and they know you need your rest. And most of all , they know you love them.xxxx
Hi gb , hope you and your sister are having a good visit. Sounds like it so far. Is it still rainy there? Hope the sun is shining , but not to terribly hot.xxxx
Hi Karen , did you hear anything yet? Hopefully , you'll hear something soon. Praying for good news. Usually , they do call if they find something. I know some docs offices , don't bother calling if all is fine. But they are suppose to call and let you know either way. If you don't hear soon , give them a call. Know we are all hear waiting with you.xxxx
Hi Auntie Em , I know what you mean about negative people. And I don't mean when someone is depressed or having a bad time because of life. I mean pessimistic people who always see the negative. I steer clear of them! Life is to short to be miserable all the time. Hope you're having a good evening.xxxx
Hi to Ulla , Shirlann , Mia , Cyndy , Hawkwomen , Angie , Lucy-Poppy , Valsul , Karyll , and all my sweet sisters.xxxx
-
Drats Sue, I can't be your sister, I'm all ready your Aunty!!
Mel - you hit it right on the head- no more negativity for me. Life IS to short. Whenever I hear someone complaining (especially at work) I feel like screaming in their ear - "let me take you to a place called bc.org - now these people have something REAL to complain about, you darn fools".
Isn't Lisa coming home tomorrow?????
bbl,
AE
-
Hi AE , I think Lisa said her doc thought she might come home then. I hope so. Its always a good feeling to get out of there and be home in your own bed or recliner.
-
Hi Mel! Hi Sue! Well, I called the doc's office and left a message for the triage nurse to call me. Hopefully, she'll call me back before she leaves the office this evening. I'll let you all know when I hear back from her.
Sue, can't you call the hospital and leave a message for your onc or his nurse to call you back regarding your scan? You must be able to contact them somehow.
Love and hugs,
Karen
-
I got everything crossed Karen! They better call you back. Wait sucks , and they should know that. OK , keep us posted.xxxx
-
Well, it doesn't look like anyone's calling me back tonight. It's almost 7pm here. Grrrr!! How irritating.
Sleep well, ladies.
Love and hugs,
Karen
-
Karen - keep us posted.
Lisa - sure hope you make it home today. Post when you can.
Well, wish me luck ladies - I go for a 3 month follow up mammo today. I'm a bit worried - last one had some issues.

I agree with you, Sue. I can wait for the results of my scan until the 15th when I meet with my onc. HOWEVER, my mom, brother, and SIL are very anxious for the results. I'm following up on it mainly for them.
Aunty Em, I'll be sending positive thoughts your way. I just know that your mammo will be clean. Good luck to you my dear sister!
Love and hugs to everyone,
Karen

Oh! Did any of you see GMA this morning? Probably not--I'm the only unemployed one in the group, aren't I? Not for long ladies! I'm going back to school in the fall for nursing. I told you all that I was planning to do that, didn't I? Anyway, Robin Roberts has been working with Tyra Banks, learning how to do runway modeling. This morning, she walked the catwalk in a fashion show BALD! I thought that was just too cool. She was wearing a beautiful red gown and she looked absolutely stunning! You could tell that she was fighting back tears. She looked so proud and beautiful. What an incredibly brave thing to do. Reminds me of when Melissa Etheridge sang at the grammys bald. I don't know if I could be that courageous.
Hugs,
Karen
-
I saw the first hour of GMA and taped the second hour. I can't wait to go home and watch it. I work 1/2 mile from the house and I can leave at 7:55 and get to work by 8:00. I liked all that they showed in the first hour, preparing her for the Fashion show. When I left the house she had a wig on and the designer said that her earrings were not approved and she would have to take them off (I think that they were joking).
Sheila
-
I can't wait for you to see it, Sheila. It was a proud moment for Robin and all bc survivors. Very cool!!!
Hugs,
Karen

Karen
you are not unemployed !!!! you are a fulltime mum!!! I was at home for a few years with my lads...childcare was way too expensive....and it was far harder being a mum than work....in some respects... so shurrup
....lol.... YOU ARE FANTASTIC!! I cant wait to hear about your nursing xxx
Well I just googled GMA ...what a great morning show to wake up to...

Much LOve xxx
-
Oh my word ...if you go to that link ...look at that Cool Cat hangs ten video ..on the bottom right side.... yikes ...how risky xxx
-
Hi Sue! I'm glad you watched the GMA clip! Wasn't it great?? I'll have to go to their website and watch that other clip you spoke of.
I'm seeing the onc on the 15th probably just to make sure my blood counts are fine and to talk about my next step with her (Tamoxifen). I imagine I don't start that until after my rads.
Thanks for the nice words regarding my stay-at-home mom status. You're absolutely right--I'm more exhausted at the end of the day than I ever was when I had a paying job. Of course, I worked in mental health administration, not a job like yours where you're on your feet all day. I sat at my desk for the most part. Not exactly physically challenging.
Enjoy the rest of your day off! Love you!!!!!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Yike!!!! Does that cat look like it's having fun to you?? Cats HATE water for the most part. Poor kitty!!!!!!
-
lol.. Karen ...I never thought of that ...I just thought cats dont swim...oh my gosh ....I forgot cats hate water
....gosh now I think its cruel!!
Jason my youngest white and grey cat.... when he was weeks old...he ate some chicken madras curry from an indian takeaway...which left a mark above his lip ...so me and the boys decided to wash his face and blow dry him...which he hated.....over the last 4 years the stain has grown along with him ..lololol....bit like writing on a balloon and blowing it up .... god knows what they put in those indian take aways!! Poor JJ xxx he will never get a girlfriend xxx
-
Karen .... I am having rads after chemo....at the end of May.... why oh why am I having months worth of poison.... I am looking up to you for your rads experience..... good luck with the tamoxifen .... you have done great.... Remember when we were starting our chemo xxx How close we all are now ...nearly 5 months on this site.... I am so grateful to you all xxx
Going for a cuppa...Zippy is snoring in my face xxx
-
I'm very grateful to everyone on this site too, Sue. Especially you because you started this thread. It's hard to believe it's been five months--yet I feel like I've known you all FOREVER! You are all so special to me.
I'm off to fix some lunch for me and Chase. It's been a very lazy day. Windy and rainy outside. A good day to just hang out at home.
I'll be back later. Have a nice cuppa!

It wouldn't do me any good to click on the GMA site, all video is blocked by the Internet guhru at the corporate office in Michigan. It's a wonder that I can get on this discussion board.
Today is actually almost like a spring day here in the Carolinas. Temps in the upper 60's and the Carolina Blue sky overhead. But next week we will pay for this nice weather, watch it get in the teens again at night and maybe 40 during the afternoons.
Sheila
-
I'm jealous, Sheila. I'd love a day in the 60's. Even the clear days here have been cold lately. I'm ready for spring!
I just heard from the PA at my onc's office, and my lungs are NORMAL! Yay!!!!!!! I knew it would be fine. My doc is just very cautious. That's what makes her a good doctor. I practically have to beg my pcp to send me to a specialist for something. I wish he were more like my onc.
Hugs,
Karen
-
Karen, just read your great news on the other thread and am so thrilled for you! Now you can celebrate finishing chemo - I hate that you had to wait so long to be able to do so but so thrilled the scan was clear. Fantastic! Big hugs and love to you! Karen - you ARE employed! You are doing a wonderful job being a mother under difficult circumstances so I don't want to hear the "u" word! I am currently unemployed and I have no kids at home! That's so exciting about the nursing - you will be such a great nurse! I took leave of absence last year and it wasn't just because of bc. It was because I couldn't get a full time job in teaching in this area and casual teaching was so stressful I just didn't want to do it while I was getting over surgery and lymph problems. So I'm the only one here who is a total wimp! I now have to wait until they process my re-registration before I can hopefully do a bit of teachers' aide work. I have also applied to do a part-time mental health course at a college near here with the view of widening my options.
AE - sending you warm thoughts and hugs. The mammo is sure to go well but this is a stressful time and I hope you get great results asap.
Sue, I am glad you are having a restful day - you are exhausted and you need to take it easy on your day off. I loved hearing about the beautiful afghan - what a lovely thing to receive! You can snuggle under it with Zippy! Thanks for posting that link - I will look at it in a minute.
Sheila - the weather sounds great there! Can you please send some over here?! It just can't stop raining!
Love to everyone
Jane xxxx

We had about half an inch of rain yesterday but we are still in an exceptional drought, close to 15 inches behind in rain since last year. Every Thursday the weather service puts out the new drought indicators and I have not heard if it has changed any from last week. 45-48% of North Carolina is in the exceptional drought area. I wish we would get more rain or snow but we don't need it all at once, it needs to be a slow rain to soak in.
Sheila

Hi all
Well I had a great day at the football yesterday. (I saw England V's Switerland) I didnt think I would like it, but I was shouting louder that the men!
LOL
All that jumping around hurt the boobies a but though.
So glad to hear Lisa's doing well, get back soon!
Sue its so nice to hear you back on a high, soak it up and remember this is the real you! My sister can be a real cow as well. Shes very attractive and knows it if you know what I mean!

Hi Lucy, glad you enjoyed the football. I remember going to see Australia vs France when I was 18 and I embarrassed my boyfriend because I got very involved in the match and was yelling the whole time! (We broke up soon afterwards - he was too worried about what other people thought!)
Sheila - I live in the land of droughts and floods! Most of the time it's drought but when it decides to rain it just buckets down. Several teenagers have been drowned because they have been boogie boarding in storm water channels and a large section of Sydney is having to cover their damaged roofs with tarpaulins to keep the rain out.
I was so sad to see the dreadful damage from the tornados that hit some US states. It's hard to imagine such destructive fury. It looked like a nuclear attack. Crazy weather everywhere.
Jane

Well ladies, just back from the mammo. Once again they found a cluster of calcifications. UGH!!! The radiologist suggested I speak to my bs. When I told him I have an appoint. with her at the end of the month he said waiting would be OK. IS HE KIDDING?????? I felt like slugging him!!! I am goingto try to get to her sooner. I DON'T WANT ANOTHER BIOPSY!!!
I'll keep you posted.
Ok, I feel better now!!!
Sue - I AM SOOO HAPPY YOU GOT YOR AFGHAN!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE I PUT YOU ON THE LIST LAST OCTOBER????? Aren't those women amazing???
Karen - doing my happy dance for you!!!! My onc put me on Tamox. while I was doing rads. He told me it didn't make a difference.
I'll be back later, hugs from A to Z.
