Good evening, ladies. I don't have time to catch up on all the posts I've missed--it's been a long, busy day. I just wanted to wish Lisa good luck tomorrow. I'll pray that everything goes smoothly and that you have a short and relatively painless recovery. I love you!!!!

Love and hugs,

I am posting for the last time for a little while. I am not so sure that my headache had that much to do with the few drinks I had. I still don't feel that well. I get really bad headaches when I don't eat. I think that is part of it. I agree with Mel, a liquid diet all day today seems like a bit much.
Thanks and love to you all!!! I was so touched when I read all of the good wishes and special picture posts. You are all so very special to me! I will miss you sooooo much!!!!!!!!!!
Danni is still here, she decided to go back to Chicago tomorrow. Olivia is staying here with Oliver. I have everything ready, and my g/f Mary will be here in about 45 minutes to pick me up.
I am anxious and nervous. I had a bit of a melt down earlier today. My Dad was here, and he gave me a big hug and some supporting words, and that made me feel better.
Sue..you are sleeping allot because you need it. Please treat yourself to the sleep! You need it and deserve it.
Lucy..you and Sue are not big!! Are your sizes in the UK the same as ours? Cause neither one of you are big..stop it!! You are both beautiful wonderful women.
Mel, I will try to call you tomorrow evening, if I am feeling up to it. If not, I will have Olivia post for me.
Has anyone heard from Karyll?? I hope everything is ok with her.
Take care all...love to everyone of you..Ulla, Sue, Mel, Shirlann, Lucy, Valerie, Karen,Valsul, Karyll, Mia, Wren, and anyone else that I missed...you know how I feel about each and every one of you!
xoxo

Love you Lisa!!!!!
Good luck, we'll be thinking of you! -
Just dropping by to say hello and to thank you all for your wonderful good wishes. As Aunty Em has no doubt told you, the bootface has reared its ugly head again, and I am back on chemo. i won't go into the details, but I just want you toknow that whilst I won't be on the boards as often if at all, that I hold you all in my heart for your tremendous support for me and for each other. I love you all, and want you to know that you are all precious to me. Don't forget, you are strong women, Amazons who are fighting for what is really dear to you all and you will do just fine.
Big hugs to you all.

Sheila, I'm right there with you, girlfriend. I used to be a size 12, now I'm between a 14 & 16, depending on what it is. I hate it!!! I am trying to lose but it is very hard. I think I'm eating right but the scale sure doesn't show it! I can't wait for the warm weather, I was a walking fiend last summer and hope to continue it this year.
bbl,
AE

i will try to be bak to the gymm this week too,,,
eating less carb,, with much fish,,,multy veges salads..soups...
hoping to start losing these extra nasty chemo killos...
dear sheila thanks alot for ur sweet words...
love u ladies

Hi:
I believe a lot of it is fluid retention from the treatments, it probably will go away in its own but takes a long time.
I had gained 22 lbs. I think mostly from the steroids ans taxatere, my onc wouldn't give me diuretics, just kept saying it'll go away on its own---which it did.
So don't get frustrated, you'll be fine.
Many hugs,
Erika
-
dear erika ,,
thanks for ur really comforting words,,but i need to know ,,howlong it took u to get rid of these nasty extra killos??
i need to put a plan for myself,,and i am so lost here,,i used that i lose wight wenever i start a diet till i reach the right wieght,,
now things seems so different and more difficuilt..
i am sad...

The thing is I am not taking chemo! I had DCIS that was confined to the duct and did bilat mast to keep from doing any treatments (chemo or rads) What excuse can I use for putting on the weight?
I am trying to drink at least 4 20-oz bottles of water a day and cutting out the sodas and some carbs. I have done this before and lost 20 lbs, I need to lose 15 lbs to get back to pre-surgery weight but would like to lose closer to 25 lbs.
Sheila
-
oh dear sheila..u can put it on stress due to surgury,,and to emothional eating,,,those 2 stronger than chemo...
about me i had left mastectomy,,chemo,,and will start rads in 18th of feb,,then the hormonal therapy,,so ,,it will be a very long trip for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to go

((((((((((Valsul))))))))))! How wonderful to hear from you! Sending you many good thoughts and praying that your chemo will be highly effective. I hope you will come back from time to time and let us know how you are. I have missed you and I wish you would come back!
Lisa, I know you won't be reading this just yet but I hope you could feel the warm vibes radiating towards you from south of the equator! I have been thinking of you such a lot and trying to work out the time difference and when your surgery would be. My son rang me from San Diego about an hour ago and it was about 11am Monday there so I guess it is all happening right now. Sending many gentle hugs and praying that you wake up feeling not too sore and very happy with the results.
Karen, I am thinking of you too and praying that you don't have to wait too much longer before getting your test results - and, most importantly, that they are good. I have heard so many women on chemo talk about the state of their nails. Many hugs to you too.
Ulla, you are amazing to be exercising so vigorously already! Please don't overdo it! You are quite inspiring. I am so happy that you are feeling better and I am sure you will lose this weight - wow! What a woman!
Sue, I hope the whole Adam thing wasn't too traumatic. He has been a silly boy and surely must realise that you have no choice but to let him go. Can you ring your doctor/onc and ask about the results of the scan? Surely, all tests would be sent to your onc? I suppose you are so busy at work and when you get home you just want to flop down and have a cuppa. Many hugs and good wishes for a good result. And you are still young enough to lose that weight easily when the time is right. Besides, I am sure you are being too hard on yourself - I bet you don't look overweight, you gorgeous girl!
Sheila - I too am overweight. I used to be very skinny in my twenties and early 30s. Then the weight crept up very gradually. I dieted and lost it all but it gradually came back on. The last year has been the worst. On the morning of my mastectomy I got up and went for a long power walk and felt so fit and healthy. After that, I have found it difficult to walk with the same vigour. My arm tends to ache if I walk like that now. So I have been going to Curves 3 to 5 times a week. But I am still not losing weight! I eat healthy - lots of veg and fruit, try to limit the carbs etc. It's so frustrating and I would love to drop a dress size. Maybe when the cooler weather starts I will have more energy.
Great, encouraging words from Erika for those of you with chemo-kilos. Don't try to rush the weight loss. Perhaps your body needs it for a while to help with healing. I should imagine that the most important thing at this stage, for those of you who have finished chemo, is to eat as healthy as possible and do some exercise but not too much!
Lucy, even if you are a few kilos overweight, I am sure you still look gorgeous! I remember you saying last week that one of your customers was giving you the eye! I think breast surgery mucks your hormones up and makes it very difficult to lose weight for a while. You are still very young so I am sure the weight will come off fairly easily. You are still healing so don't be hard on yourself!
Shirlann - I hope you and Walt are doing ok. Please, if you have a moment, let us know how you are both doing. Praying that this is something that can be fixed soon. You are always so loving and encouraging so I am sure your husband is getting lots of support from you. We are here to support you and we care deeply for you. xxx
Karyll - still thinking of you and praying that you are ok. Pleeeeeease just say something or get someone else to post...xxxx
Auntie Em - you are such a treasure - thank you for your encouraging words and warm presence here!
Love to everyone - Wren, Melody, Mia, Dawn, Tender, Pearl, Barbie, Angie, Cyndy and Mamhop and anyone else I have missed.
Jane. xxxx
Hi to everyone else! Wren,
-
Shirlann - you posted while I was raving on. Thankyou for letting us know about the scan. Am praying that it will show nothing serious.
Jane xxx
-
Good night Ulla! Sleep well - you surely will with all that exercise!
Hugs
Jane

How long was Lisa's surgery going to take? I can't remember what type of recon she was having.

Sue, I just saw a really funny tv ad from the UK. The theme was "Until the sun shines out of your a---h---, use energy efficient light bulbs!" Bizarre but funny to watch!
