Gb...Thank you for your kind words. I have been blessed with 3 lovely daughters. My oldest is blond, (like I was when I was young) and the next two are both dark like their Dad, and the rest of my very Italian family! I of course as their mother I think they are quite lovely, but more importantly..they are nice, loving and caring young women. For that I am very proud of who they are!
Gb...I didn't know you were an artist. I love art, I don't use the talent I have very often though. When I was in High school, I though of going to an art institute..but chickened out. I even thought before about being a children's book illustrator! How neat, that that is something you have passion for!
I wish you all the best today at your doctor appt. I am sure the ultrasound will be clear!!
Wren, my middle daughter is in college (2nd yr ) for early childhood education. I give teachers so much credit and respect!! I think in today's society, and with parents who don't hold their children responsible for their actions, it would be a very difficult job to have.
Ulla...I miss you darling! I so worry about that darn lymphodemia...I hope you can get yours under control. I did not realize it could cause so much pain. I am sorry for you.
Mel....any good finds at the store yesterday? I know you got a girdle..any other goodies?
Well...we put off NYC until possibly next week. The weather did not look too good there. Oh well, save my money.
Sue...darling...I hope you got good rest after your wonderful meal. I thought of you this morning, I asked Olivia if she was working, so if not, I could prepare a nice healthy meal for her. I remembered what you said, on how you like to see the boys eat good food. My girlfriends are taking me out for dinner tonight to celebrate my b'day of last week, so I will just cook something for her.
hi to poppy, aunt em, karen, valsul...and oh..I am having a brain fart...but u know I love you all!
xoxo

I am being a thread hog...but I have to share with you, a poem Olivia wrote for me for my b'day.
I've wondered for years now, how a Hero is defined. For
some people a hero is easy to find. They look for them on
tv's, movies, commercials, and shows, or under a big box with
ribbons and bows. I don't look for my hero in Spiderman,
Superman, or the cat and the mouse, because my hero
happens to be right her in my house.
My hero is powerful, loving and strong. She makes
mistakes and knows when she is wrong. When she has to face
problems, she fights them like the hulk. Never to give up and
never to walk off. Diagnosed with cancer, she held her head
high, while the months and the days slowly passed by.
She fought, conquered and recovered and hardly did a
person know she ever suffered. My hero carries a smile with
her everywhere she goes, so if people were to look at her,
her cancer is something that never shows.
My HERO is not spiderman, superman or a celebrity icon.
My HERO just so happens to me my MOM!
I love you Mom,
OliviaI thought it was very sweet. The best gift you could ask for...from the heart!
xoxo

GB...good news on the ultrasound!!

gb - Great News!!! Doing my happy dance!!
Lisa - I think I figured out how it get rid of the "stuff" on your posts - I see that it shows up in your profile - I think you can delete it there.

AE

Ae...I will try!! I hate it! I have tried everything..I will try and do it there! Thanks!
(ps..you can tell when I am at work...posting..NO SYMBOLS!)

What a wonderful poem, Lisa. You must have cried your eyes out when you read it. Thank you so much for posting the pics. You and your 3girls are gorgeous! And Olivia!! My gosh, no wonder she models. She's absolutely stunning! My daughter would be so envious. She's always wanted to be more exotic looking, but ended up with my fair skin and mousey brown hair.
Chase loved the picture of Oliver. What a sweet little guy he is!
gb, I'm so glad that your u/s showed only some cysts. I'm wondering what will be suggested for me in the future--mammograms only or mammos AND u/s. I have very dense breast tissue, so I think I'd feel more comfortable with both. Especially since my tumor, on the mammo, didn't look like anything of major concern. The u/s told a different story.
Shirlann, you crack me up!! It doesn't look like any 300 lb family members are going to be moving in with me any time soon. My FIL is going to be ok, I hope. If I keep eating like I have been, there won't be room for her here anyway! I'm going to end up weighing 300 lbs myself!! Oink, oink!!!!! Thank you for the lovely story too. It was very touching--I loved it!
My dear Sue! Bless your heart for fixing those sweet boys a hearty Sunday dinner! You are such a wonderful mother. This damn bootface is making you even more special. You are stronger, more empathetic, and more BEAUTIFUL than ever! Inside AND out!
Ulla, it was so good to hear from you. I'm sorry that darn lymphodema is still giving you so much trouble. I'm sending big hugs your way. Love you!
Poppy, Melody, Wren, Mia, Valerie, and anyone I may have forgotten--I love you all! Have a wonderful day. I'm heading to the grocery store for the first time since chemo last week. Yuck! I hate grocery shopping and I always spend too much! Darn this stupid steroid-stimulated appetite!!!
Love and hugs,
Karen
-
Thanks Karen! I am glad Chase liked the picture of Oliver. I was hoping he would. The girls father is 100% Macedonian (Greece area) so that is wher Liv gets her looks. Not to mention, I am half Italian..and the rest of my family looks it.
I hate grocery shopping too! I went yesterday. Actually went to 2 different stores (to get the bargains). Olivia is great at putting it all away for me, thank goodness...I hate that part.
Karen, don't worry too much about the eating...we all did during chemo. It's normal. I was so worried that the lbs would not come off...but they are...slowly..but they are. So have fun, eat..if it makes you feel good!!
xoxo

Hello Everyone xxx
I rushed home to cya!! Lol....I just wanted to know you were all feeling bit better xxx
Lisa your pictures are beautiful !!! Olivia looks like a girl I work with...shes called Blaire...and I love her dearly...You have 3 wonderful daughters Lisa...I bet you overflow with pride!! xxx
gb .... I am so pleased your ultrasound went well...xxx That is such great news....When do you start getting your Autumn in Australia....Do you get really cold Winters xxx
Well I am so happy to read all these posts and know what you are all up to...Karen are you binge eating tonight
...I have just about stopped this time around...Its such a false appetite isnt it!! Mind you I would welcome that appetite in reality...I am not very good at looking after myself if my o/h isnt here...I just eat lazily xxx
I have been mostly working all day again....I found out the new bosses have put an advert in the evening news asking for managers and deputy managers in their Bolton Stores
..........
...... they probably just looking for one to replace Toms other shop....OMG ....I might be jobless in February..... I am sure it is against the law...I have been reading up!!! I am really under immense stress at the thought ..... OK I wont thought xxx
I have a cold coming too...and I have conjunctivitus...grrrr maybe I am a bit rundown.... the weather is cold and then perculiarly mild for this time of year...it feels so strange ..
Zippy is on the other chair sulking tonight...my O/H is on nites this week and if I go and lie on my bed then I might get a burglar in down stairs ...LOL....I had a serious and callous break in a few years ago at another house so maybe its a phobia feeling....as I was in the house in bed at the time and disturbed them....they got away with lots and were never caught ...They took hundreds of pounds worth of jewellery etc but what really made me cry was they took a camera that needed developing...with Davids last nativity play at infant school
I have the most saddest feeling ever ...I wonder where it ended up...
Ok I am going to shove loads of ointment in my eye and blind myself after I have made a brew.... I need a holiday!!!
I do some mystery shopping for a few companies in my spare time....it pays well for what its worth...I am supposed to be doing 2 banks during work tomorrow...but I am way too weak and my memory is too bad...last time I did one I had to stare long and hard at her name badge...lol...her hair kept covering it...I am sure she guessed I was evaling her...got back to my car and couldnt remember a thing ! ...Oh my...I really could do with a break...xxx
Be good sisters....
Much Love xxx

Thanks, Lisa. It's just frustrating because i'd worked so hard to lose the extra 15 or so pounds that I'd put on since Chase was born. I was finally down to where I wanted to be, and then I started chemo and it all went to crap! Believe it or not, I've been exercising MORE since starting chemo. It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one who's effected by the chemo this way--thanks!!
I think Portia was hoping that she'd end up with some of her dad's Filipino genes (he's 1/4 Filipino), but all she ended up with was the somewhat wide nose. Well, at least she doesn't have my long beak!!
I'd better run and put on some makeup before I head out. Don't want to scare all the small children at the store! I'm looking VERY Uncle Festerish today!!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Aww Karen.... xxx You are not scarey!!! Get me some chocolate for later while youre there xxx
-
Sue!! Thank you for the compliments. I am very proud of my daughters. Did you like Olivia's poem...I definately cried when I read it. I had to laugh though...because I am not always the one to admit when I am wrong (the stubborn side to me)..so we both laughed at that part!
You sound better today. I am sorry you are coming down with something. Take care of your eye! Please, do not stress over your job!! You are right...there are laws..."they can't touch you"!!
What a small world..your Blaire and my Olivia..and they are both Subway workers! haha.
Sue..what do you do as a secret shopper? I would love to find something to make extra money. I really need too, since I do not get child support! He is sooooooooo behind!! Let me know details...I would love to do this!!
Sounds exciting and like you are under cover sleuth!! haha...fun..and like I said..I need the income.
Many hugs to all!
xoxo
Lisa

Hi Sue! I'm so glad you posted before I left for the dreaded store. I'm sorry about the conjunctivitis. I used to get that a lot as a child. It's so yucky! Portia gets it a lot too. I hope it clears up soon and that you're not coming down with anything too debilitating. I hate cold and flu season. Seems everyone is battling something.
They would be idiots to let you go, Sue! Who else is as dedicated and hard working as you?? No one, that's who!! I wouldn't worry if I were you.
Take care everyone. I really am going to leave now. Can you tell I'm procrastinating?
Hugs,
Karen
-
Karen...stop..you are not scary! You are a beautiful woman! Remember...we have all gone through or are going through that period. THIS TOO SHALL PASS! I can totally relate to the weight thing. I was very thin a few years back, gained some weight, then lost some before I got married. Then..bootface..and I am sure I gained about 10-12 lbs or more! So...be sure..it will slowly come off. We didnt' gain it overnight...we won't lose it that fast either. I started walking during my dx and tx's. I think that helped keep it down some. Every little bit helps.
When you are done with tx's...I will be here to help you get motivated and when you are feeling better..back to getting the weight off.
xoxo
Lisa
-
Ok. I'm getting up now. Bleeccchhhh! I hate the store and it's COLD out! Now I'm whining. All right. I'm outta here. Later!
Love ya!
Karen
-
haha...Karen...that was me yesterday...
-
Sue they can't get rid of you...
Im sure they wouldn't want to anyway, I cant imagine they will find a more dedicated manager!
Lisa your daughters are so beautful! You must be so proud
Also you are one foxy lady!
Owww Sue I would just love to be one of those mystery shop thingys. My mate does it on restaurants YUM
Yay my fluid is going down on my back (finally) but now I can feel just the back of my ribs because that muscle is gone! Really freaky
Sue I love a big roast dinner but I am far to lazy to clear up all the mess so we normally go to the pub for a carvery! mmmmm love the cauliflower cheese and crispy parsnips.
I can never do Parsnips crisp?? Anyone got any tips? -
Oh, Lisa! You are such a sweeheart! Thank you! I'll get this darn weight off for sure with you as my cheerleader!
Ok, I'm REALLY leaving now.
Hugs,
Karen
-
Poppy...good to see you!! Thanks for the compliments. My girls are my world!! And, yes..I am very proud of the women they have become! Very strong, compassionate and loving girls!
Glad to hear your fluid is going down. I am getting more and more nervous about my surgery! Not doubting...just nervous.
Can't help with parsnips..have never made them. Is that an English dish?
...ummm....correction..."was foxy (I guess..haha)...dont' feel too foxy now. But hopefully I will get that back..??
-
OMG Lisa...I forgot Olivia works at Subway...what a small world! Olivias poem was beautiful.....I can imagine the lump in your throat...I love it whn I get little notes off the boys...but that poem Lisa ..well you should keep it safe...I would frame it if it was me. I dont have any expensive artwork in my house ...I framed all the kids artwork from infant school...hahaha...some of it is 11 years old ...the very first one I framed was from david when he was 2 ... its very abstract lol...but it works well framed.... xxx
I do mystery shopping for several companies....the main one is grassroots mystery shopping...you can google them...or see what the U.S. use....
Basically they email you assignments and you book the time slot etc and confirm you will be doing it...then you go to the store or whatever...and evaluate them on the given questions from your assingment doc. Then you rush back to your car and write everything down....whence you get home you go on the net with the assignment # and fill in all the quezzys. They pay between 10gbp to 25gbp for ten minute job ...thats quite cushdy xxxx I cant find my british pound sign on my laptop.... but for you it would be between $20 and $50
I had my ex texting me this morn...to tell me the Child Support had hijacked his wages and he was threatening me he would pack his job in blah blah blah .... I havent had no child support for months now...but he has enough money to go out drinking etc.... I am not bothered so much of the money as the principle.... its bang out of order.... !!! So now I will have to see what he does ...hes a bleep bleep bleep bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep ...lol....fill in the expletives if you please...you may improvise xxx
xxxx
-
Maybe by my 50th b'day...I will be!! hey..never know..haha.
I WANT TO BE A MYSTERY SHOPPER!!!
-
Hi Poppy! You've just given me another reason to stay sitting here on my fat duff. Now it's pouring rain too. I don't want to gooooooo!!! Yeckkkk!
I'm so happy to hear the fluid issue is resolving itself. I've been so lucky not to have any issues like that. I had a slight seroma under my arm, where he took out the three lymph nodes, but it resolved itself and never protruded or anything.
Geez, I haven't even put on my makeup yet. I've really gotta go.
Hugs,
Karen
-
KAREN GET TO THE SHOP I WANT MY CHOCOLATE ... XXXX
-
Darn that stupid ex of yours Sue! I'm really lucky, I guess. My ex is a dork (he's such a child--I don't think he'll ever grow up), but he's always been really good about mailing in his child support payments. He always pays extra when I ask for it too. Don't you let that jerk push you around or threaten you, Sue! He'll have some angry bc sisters hunting him down like the dog he is!!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Anything for you, Sue! I'm off to buy chocolate now!
Love you!
Karen
-
Poppy ... I dont do restaurants ...I do banks, show homes, ethel austins ,b&q and other shops insurance companies etc ....I love it!! But I have to find the time...if you do Asda (Walmart Lisa) you get 50 squids ...as long as you ask about 6 assistants different questions on different depts...well that is a bit too much for my head LOL
Take your brolly Karen xxx AND GET UP...I have to get up in min
-
Karen, have you had reconstruction yet? Sorry, if you have said...I forget so much!
Sue, damn our ex's!! I have not recieved money since last April. Recently I got about 200.00 from him, but same as your ex...he quits jobs that have the money garneshed..and he ends up working under the table, and giving me nothing! I do need the money. But you are right, it's the principal!! He is so far behind..even from 2 years ago with Alise..when she was under 18! There is a warrant out for his arrest now, but I haven't pushed that issue, because I heard he was working, so I was hoping for some money. Now...I think he got laid off...so if that's the case. Throw his *&! in jail!
As for Olivia's poem. I do plan on framing it. I will print out the typed version. She hand wrote it, but it's hard to read, because she wrote on the other side with marker and it blead through. I have 2 other writing from the girls framed and hanging in my bedroom. I love framing the kids work and hanging it. It's the best kind of art work, as far as I'm concerned! I bet your boys, love seeing it hanging proudly on the wall!
You are a great mom Sue!
I will check into that mystery shopping!
xoxo
Lisa

I know Karen ...I really given up now...hes a truly irresponsible selfish parent... I would never say that to the boys...I have let them find that out...xxx I am not going to text him ...he wanted me to pay it him back when it goes in my account cos he needs to tax his motorbike ....good lord!
-
I just got back from the PS office and he said that my nipples were looking good enough to get the tattoos at the end of the month! I thought that I would have to wait until the end of Feb before getting them done. They will not do anything wild and crazy (I went in to earlier appointments with removable tattoos in appropriate places), they said that if I wanted crazy, I would have to go to Dragon's Den and get them done there.
I scanned the previous 3 pages of comments and I am glad that all are feeling and doing great.
My son said that he is doing well in the Persian Gulf region, no more threating attack boats.
Sheila
-
Sheila...great news on your son!! What a relief!
How long ago did you have your reconstruction? I have mine Feb 4th, and wondered when I would get my nipples and tattos.
-
Sheila...I bet you're so relieved...xxx what a really tense time ...I am relieved for you both !! phew xxx
Are you going to Dragons Den ...hahahaha..you made me laugh...Its good that youre getting them done sooner than later...do they put you to sleep ... sorry I am so vacant with the recon subjuect....I havent gone into it yet...I have bitten off more than I can chew for now LOL... xxx
