HERE ARE SOME PICS OF ME W/OUT HAIR, OR VERY LITTLE (NO EYBROWS OR EYELASHES)
THIS IS OF ME AND MY BROTHER LAST OCTOBER RIGHT AFTER MY SURGERY.
HIKING LAST FALL (SAME TIME)
THIS IS AT A FUNDRAISER MY CO-WORKERS HAD FOR ME..AND SOFTBALL GAME! THEY ARE GREAT!
ONE OF THE SIGNS HANGING AT THE FUNDRAISER!
THE OTHER ONE...THEY SIGNED IT WITH WELL WISHES.
for those of you, Sue, Karen who are going through the baldness and chemo now...I wanted you to see.. we were there too! It does get better...you saw the pic of my hair at christmas with my dad, it's so much longer than that already!!
And...I have lost some of those darn chemo pounds!!
Stay strong...I hope this helped...love you!!

I had the expanders put in the day of my bilat mast June 1. I was fully filled by Aug 16, exchange surgery for perm saline implants Nov 2, Nipples constructed Dec 20, and now tattoos Jan 29. My surgeon said at the beginning that the 'Good Lord took 13 yrs to make your first set of boobs, you have to give me at least 8 months.'
I thought about going to Dragon's Den, it is where my husband got a commemorative tattoo for me of a pink ribbon, my name and my wife - my hero on his arm, but I am not completly wild and crazy, I just act that way. My husband suggested twin ribbons encircling the nipples but I rejected that idea pretty quick.

Lisa,
I checked my profile and in the bio section and I just have one sentence written. I checked yours and you have all the "stuff". Do you see the same thing I see??
This is very confusing...............
AE

Sue do you mean the thermometer? Sometimes I forget what I want to say or lose things and I am not even taking chemo! This morning I looked for my mobile phone for 15 minutes before finding it in a drawer in the loo, I don't remember putting it there last night. I do hope that you feel better soon.
Sheila
-
Sue....when I go to that box...it shows nothing!! empty! I have tried to delete..and I made it worse!
I hope the pics help those going through it now...it does get better...
Enjoy your bath...Take something right now for that cold...extra vitamin C!!
-
Hi all my dear friends. Lisa, your family pix are lovely! What beautiful women you all are!
Sue, I cannot believe in the middle of this cancer mess, you get a new boss. NOT FAIR!! I hope she is good to you. I am not thrilled she is American. Sad to say. If she is not good to you we will all come over and order subways and not pay for them, just run away. Leaving a little note that says, "Be good to Sue, if you know what's good for you!".
Is Ulla okay? I don't see a post. Not much sun up there this time of year, so I know she is hoping for the first flower.
I love all you dear gals, Shirlann

Just checking in and see that you ladies are quite active as usual. Sue has a temp, and is directing Lisa from her chair, Shirlann is warning Sue's new boss not to get on Sue or else, and Lisa posted lovely wonderful pictures of her great colleagues and friends.
My, my, my what a wonderful day (except for Sue's flu..)!
Well Sue, I hope this is a short sickness for you. Rest up, drink tea, maybe some vitamin C but not too much as your still on chemo effect. You just had your last AC right? or is it this week?
Glad to see so much activity here. You're a lively group...!!!
All the best,
Tender -
Hi Tender. I got carried away and posted almost 2 pages of photos!
Well...Sue..I tried..and when I try and click on that box...I get the hour glass...and it freezes up!!
As winnie the pooh(my favorite) would say...."Oh bother"!
Ladies...I will check in later tonight. I am going out for a b'day celebration dinner with 4 of my girlfriends! I am sure I will have a few corona's too! Oh...and Sue...no..I am not an alcoholic..haha!
Luv ya!!
xoxo
Lisa
-
Hope you're having some ice cold Corona's, Lisa!! It's so strange that you can't get rid of that weird mumbo jumbo that pops up before and after every one of your posts. It seems to me that there's not as much of it anymore. Am I wrong?
Well, I have your chocolate, Sue! When are you coming over to get it? Lol!!!!! You'd better make it quick or I'll eat it myself! I can't believe my craving for sweets these days. I've never even liked chocolate much before now.
I made it home just as the winds were starting to kick up. The rain is pouring down sideways! I'm coming Aunty Em!!!!!!!
Hugs to you all,
Karen
-
Lisa, I've only had a lumpectomy. Sometimes I wish I'd had them both chopped off. I'm so paranoid about finding another lump. I know that even if they were gone, the cancer could come back, so I'm not thinking very rationally. Dang, I'd better hurry and submit this--the wind is whipping like you wouldn't believe. I'm afraid we're going to lose our power.
Talk to you all tomorrow (if I'm able).
Hugs,
Karen
-
Tender xxx I have my last ding ding with AC next Tues 22nd ...I am speaking with onc about the nxt step and my thoughts xxx
Thankyou for popping in to see us ... and thankyou for watching over us
xxx
My cold my cold ...lol....I am def doing sick day tomorrow...I think...
"YES SUE TAKE THE FREAKING DAY OFF YOU SILLY GIRL !"
Karen ...I want chocolate...I am sitting here eating the last of a selection box....and all thats left is a weeny small bar...I bet you got a kingsize LOL
Lisa hope you having a good meal..I really think you should seek advice for your drinking before it gets out of hand LOL
I am going to have a shufty on the net...see if I can figure out the mess all over your posts xxxx
-
Karen, I'm here!!!! Now get inside and stay there!!! lol.
I had a lumpectomy also and I agree with you - wish I had them off. When I had my scare on the good boob last Sept. I told the surgeon I wanted them off - she told me not to even go there.
If I have another scare I might insist - I hate the not knowing.
Sue - Aunty Em is going to call you in sick tomorrow - I want you to stay in bed all day with Zippy. You need your strength. Hey, Idol starts here tomorrow- can't wait to see all the crazy people who think they can sing - thats the best part of the show!!
Hang on, gotta take my shirt off - these hot flashes are doing me in. Phew!! And DH is talking about moving to New Orleans!!!!
I'd be in a constant state of hot down there. OIYEE!!
Ulla,where are you???
Gotta run,
Love you ladies,
Aunty Em

HI Sue
! Boy , you ladies sure had a busy day here. I'm jealous. But I really like my new boss. She is so nice. Sue , I hope you get a nice boss too. I love what Shirlann said , we'll all order subway and not pick it up and leave notes to be kind to you.lololololol Shirlann , you crack me up!
Did you take your temp Sue? I hope your not getting the flu. Drink lots of tea. And any other liquid you can.
Karen , you are so funny too. You sounded just like me Sat. when I didn't want to clean. At least you finally went shopping , I never did clean! The weather is so lousy isn't it? We had snow showers most of the day. It was really pretty , but this evening , the wind has picked up.Brrrrrrr
Lisa , great pics. And the poem from your daughter is priceless. You and your daughters are all so beautiful. And what a wonderful thing your co-workers did for you. You are truly blest!xxxx
gb and Wren , school teachers huh. I have the greatest respect for you and all teachers. What a job. You must have alot of patience. xxxx
Lisa , are you out drinking AGAIN
?! I had to do that. I love when Sue does it.lol
Wow Sheila , it sounds like you have a great husband. What a sweet thing to do. Does he have any brothers?lol
Hi Poppy , sounds like the fluid is moving maybe? That would be weird to feel ribs where your muscle use to be. Sometimes I think it is so weird to have a boob made out of my stomach.
OK ladies , Hope you all are having a good evening.xxxx Melody
-
Oh , to update you on my sister. She called me and said they were busy and were suppose to call her back. Well , my mom got on the phone and we were talking , the other phoneline rang , but my mom didn't know how to answer it! So I hurried up and hung up , but it was to late. They left my sis a message saying to call back in the morning. She tried to call back right away , but it was after hours and the answering machine was all that picked up. I felt so bad. She said it was OK , that shes in no big hurry to get the news. I still feel bad. I told her , she needs to teach mom how to answer call waiting! So hopefully tomorrow she will know more.
-
Hey you silly gals, I had a lumpectomy 9 years ago, and am I glad! So stop this worrying. Dr. Susan Love likes lumpectomies because with a recurrence she has tissue to work with instead of poking around in the mast scar or the chest wall. So see? You did the right thing.
Now, Sue, you stay home and cuddle zippy. No arguments. Where is Ulla? I worry she may be lost in the dark up there.
I love all the pix, it seems we are all together. It is wonderful. I even like the big ones.
Hugs to everyone, Shirlann
-
Hi girls. I had a great time with my g/f! I only had 2 beers! It's almost 10pm and I am home, waiting for the show Medium to come on...love that show.
Hi Melody...I hope your sister gets good news tomorrow. How fustrating still not knowing. I do feel very blessed, I know I have said it before. The support I received last year from everyone was amazing!!! (except from the one person who should have...HE will reman nameless...haha)
Sue, if you figure out my stupid symbols and how to remove them...let me know!! GRRRRRRRRRR. If you look at my personal info....there are tons of them!! I tried to delete and added more there!
Good night to all...keep the boobs if you can...lol!
Oh AE..you would burn up in New Orleans!!
xoxo

Hey everyone!
It's good to see you all so busy and having so much fun in spite of how you may feel or look.
Lisa, your daughter's poem is beautiful. What a treasure!
I love seeing all the photos too! It doesn't seem like we are so far apart.
Hope your cold gets better soon too Sue
-
I've been too busy the last couple of days to catch up in the morning and I miss everyone! Have been job hunting and it takes a lot of time.
Lisa, I loved Olivia's poem - what a treasure to keep for ever! Glad you had a great time on your dinner out with your gfriends. I was so interested to know that you're interested in art too. I wish I had gone to art school. I have done quite a few art classes and would love to do more.
Sue, so sorry you have the nasty flu. Pleeeeease take a sick day! Then you will have 2 days in a row to rest and give your body a chance to fight off this bug. Wish I could make you some spicy chicken soup! Think how happy Zippy would be to have you to snuggle up to for 2 whole days!
Maybe I could become a mystery shopper on the side.
Ulla, how is your arm? I know you are going through hell and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Valsul, you are in my thoughts and prayers too. (I pray for everyone on here).
Mel, how frustrating that you and your sister (and mother) have to wait until tomorrow to get the results of her tests. My prayers continue for a great result. I don't have the patience to be a good teacher. I have taught adults before and I found that a lot easier but my confidence is low lately.
Karen, hope the weather is improving. Even though I always say I love winter, I have never had to sit out a really long, snowbound one. It must be very frustrating. Are you serious about moving house? Perhaps you should get through your treatments and feel strong and healthy again before you do that.
Poppy, I was so glad to hear that your fluid in your back is going down. It must have been sooo uncomfortable for you. I sometimes wish I had had the opportunity to have recon at the time of my surgery... I don't think I want to risk it now as I seem to be prone to lymph build up.
Sheila, great about your nipples looking good. I loved hearing about your dh's plans for his tattoo to salute you! So glad to hear that your son has sailed into more peaceful waters.
Mia, Wren, Shirlann and anyone else who has escaped my present state of mind, hope you are all doing ok.
Love to all
gb xxxx
-
Sue, I just read at the top of the page where you asked if they will put me to sleep for the tattoo, no but they do numb the area and she said that it will take about an hour to create both areolas.
Melody, My husband has a younger full blood brother, and a half-brother. He has not had much contact with either because he and his bbro were separated when they were small and adopted to different families in different parts of the state. He just started having contact with his bbro about 18 yrs ago but he lives on the other end of the state. His half bro lives in GA and we just found out about him after finding Don's mom 12 yrs ago and he is married with 2 children.
Poppy good to hear about the fluid going down.
Ulla, hope that your arm feels better and the fluid goes down soon.
Karen, we are expecting snow here tomorrow night through Friday.
GB thanks for the encouragement with my son, but he is right there in the Persian Gulf now probably close to Iraq. during his 2006 deployment they spent 3 months patroling the oil rigs and one of them caught on fire. My husband got his tattoo for my birthday October 12, and he shows it off to all who want to see it. He also has the pink ribbon magnets on his semi.
Sheila
-
Good morning! Sheila, your husband sounds like a gem!! Good luck with your tattoos. I will be doing that sometime late spring, early summer.
Ulla....how is the arm today? Check in with us sweetie.
Sue, I do hope you took the day off today. But, knowing you (work aholic..better than alchoholic..haha) I am sure you went in! I hope the cold/flu hasn't got you down too badly today.
Gb..thanks for the sweet comments. I do treasure my poem. I should pick up a pencil and sketch...I have not done that in so many years! Maybe in my retirement someday...haha.
Wren...where do you live again? What grade do you teach?
Thanks for your compliments.
Mel...Saying an extra prayer for your sis. Update us when you know! Thanks to you also for your kind words...except for the drinking part...haha...that was a good chuckle!
Keeping it short for now...just got to work.
I'll check back in later.
xoxo

Good morning everyone! Well, the storm seems to have passed and we didn't lose our power! Today it's cold (about 28 degrees) and clear. Did I tell you all that we're going back to Leavenworth this coming weekend for their Ice Festival? I'm hoping there will be tons of snow again. We're spending two nights at the Bavarian Lodge Hotel. Should be fun! I'm sure I'll have 20 pages of posts to catch up on when I return.
Sue, are you home today? What am I saying? Of course you're not!!!!
Mel, let us know when you hear from your sis today. I'm praying that she's fine.
Sheila, I think it's so fascinating how they can give you tattooed areolas. I imagine you can't even tell that they're tattoos unless you get really up close and examine them. I think it's so sweet that your dh got a tattoo in your honor and has bc ribbon magnets on his car. My dh would never do anything like that--you're really lucky.
Lisa, I'm so glad you had a wonderful dinner. And only two Coronas! What restraint--I'm so proud! Lol!!!!!!
Take care ladies. I'll be back later.
Hugs,
Karen
