Ohhh, what wonderful plans you girls are making - such a great thing to do! Definitely DO it!! I would love to think of you all together - what memories you would create and it would firmly cement friendships - friends for life!
It is highly unlikely that I could make it but I would love to think that you could all do it - as many of you as possible. I am not working at the moment - looking for work but nothing has turned up. Maybe I should take a lottery ticket and then nothing would stop me!
Keep planning. I really want you to do it. You MUST!
hugs,
gb
PS: Karen, how thrilling that your next chemo will be your last. What a cybercelebration we will have for you then!

Oh Sheila...I forgot you are in NC!! It is beautiful there isn't it?! I hope we get allot of sisters able to come!! I was telling my gf about it this morning when we were running. She said...oh Lisa..that would be so special for all of you!! I agree!
Sue...thank you for the b'day wish. I called my dear Dad last night on the way home from work...and he said.."honey, just keep the car till Friday!" I love him so!! I have enjoyed my morning. I got back from running about 6:45am, and made Olivia's lunch for school, then sat down with some hot coffee, put some Bailey's in it..yum...and relaxed and read the morning paper!! I never do that...always rushing off. So that felt good! Sue...now I do sound like an alcoholic! haha.
Enjoy your day too Sue!!

hi all..
am like lisa clueless with putting a pic here,,helpppppp
-
Hi ladies. For those of you having trouble posting pics here, go back up in this thread to a post from Tim Tam. You'll have to download your pic onto PhotBucket, but from there, it's pretty easy if you follow her instructions. If I can do it, anyone can!
Happy Birthday, Lisa!!!! Have a wonderful day. You look nowhere near 48. I'll be 44 in March and you look so much younger than me. What's your secret? I sent you a special message on your regular e-mail. Have a wonderful lunch and dinner with your dear Dad. How sweet of him to let you continue to use his car.
Melody, I'll continue to pray for you sis. She must be so incredibly anxious. Gosh, we know how awful it is, don't we? I hope your electricity stays on. That's so frustrating. We have lots of wind storms and lose our electricity at least a couple times a year. The kids go totally nuts when it happens.
Sue, I'm so glad you slept in a bit. Your body needed it. You work way too hard, young lady! And staying up until all hours posting here! We love chatting with you, don't get me wrong, but your body needs the rest! Ok, I'm done lecturing. It's just because I love you!
gb--buy those lottery tickets so you can join us on our vacation! It wouldn't be the same without you.
Sheila, so glad you live that close to our vacation destination. It will be so great to have you there.
Well, I'm feeling really well today, so i'd better run and get some stuff done. Just wanted to ask a quick favor before I go though. My FIL had a stroke on Monday and my dad isn't doing well either. My dad suffers from congestive heart failure. He had two open heart surgeries eight years ago. We're very fortunate to still have him, but lately he's been sleeping a lot more, his appetite isn't good, and he just seems very disoriented. Please add both my dads to your prayers. I'm so worried about them both. Ulla, I'm so scared that my bc and the worry associated with it is the cause of my dad's decline in health. I so empathize with your fears regarding sharing your illness with your mom.
Love and hugs to you all,
Karen
-
Oh Karen...I am so sorry to hear about your 2 dads. I will keep them in my prayers. Please don't feel guilty when it comes to your fathers health. I do know how you feel, cause I could see it in my father when I was going through it..the worrying etc. I pray that they will both return to good health.
Thank you for the card!! I sent you an email. I loved it!!! Thanks too for the compliment. I feel younger than 48, not sure about looking younger. I get told that. I do have good genes, I think that is my secret..haha. My father is 81...doesn't look a day over 70!
Thanks for the info on the pic. I will check that out, and see if I am able to figure it out! yikes!
Ok..off for lunch and a new drivers license! At least I will have a pic without that darn wig!!
xoxo

Sue, so glad you had a sleep in - you need more of those and lots of pampering!
Mel - I am praying for things to be fine with your sister. It has been such a worrying wait for both of you. I hope your electricity comes back on soon. We were without electricity once for 4 days due to a big wind storm and it was so difficult.
Karen, I'm so sorry that you have this worry about your father and FIL. I am praying for them - and you too. You have so much on your plate.
Valsul, thinking of you a lot and saying many prayers for you too. I hope you can come back here soon. Your presence is very much missed.
Sheila, I have heard how beautiful North Carolina is. I often get on Google and look at pictures of the places where everyone lives so I must have a peek at NC.
Ulla, hope you are doing ok. It's nice to know that you are not too far from Sue who is going through similar trials. But then, this wonderful internet shrinks the globe and we all seem close.
Lisa, what a great dad you have! I bet you had a great time at your birthday dinner with him.
I am having family issues to do with my son breaking up with his girlfriend. She has been very sad and coming to see me a lot. I care for both of them and it's a very emotional time. I am a bit distracted by it at the moment!
Hugs

Oh Oh, North Carolina or South!!! That sounds great to me, but could Ulla and Sue make it that far? Well, really, it isn't that far for them, only 5 hours. Not too bad, hmmmmm
Its just a shame this planet is so big. We could all have lunch once a week if not for the size of this thing.
Sue, I am so glad you got a rest, and Ulla, you sleep too. Karen, whew, thank God! What a thing, all done.
Love you all, Shirlann
-
Lisa , Happy , Happy Birthday!!(((((Lisa)))))) Love you girl!
-
Sue, I'm sure the treatments vary slightly by country, but how come you have to have so many treatments? Are they trying to give you more frequent but lower doses?
I wish you didn't have so many more left. I think we started around the same time and I only have 2 left. I want you to be done with me at the end of February!
-
Dear Valsul , I am so sincerely sorry to hear this is happening again to you. I always felt from your posts here , that you are a strong woman , and you will get through this. We will always be here for you. Please come post when you feel up to it. I pray for the healing power of God the Father ,the peace and love through His Son Jesus , and comfort and strengh through the Holy Spirit will be with you always. We will have a big group hug just for you Val. Stay strong sweet sister.xxxx Melody

Hi Sue
! Boy , so much has happened since my last posts. Boy , has it been windy here! I have an open field at the side , towards the back of my house , and we get all the northwest wind from the lake on that side. I was so scared a tree was gonna fall. That happened a few years ago , and the tree fell on our cars! We have a row of about five pines on that side and one is bent over , and I'm always afraid its gonna be the next to fall. It has died down some today , but they are calling for high winds tomorrow and Sat. Auntie Em , keep an eye out for me , I might come flying by
!
I talked to my sister today. She had her tests and of course , has to wait till Monday for results. What ever it is that they found , it is very ,very small. The us tech said she thought it might be a cyst , but it is to small to tell. So now , as we all know , she has to play the waiting game. Lovely. And I am so upset to here the news of Valsul. I am so angry. I hate this mother f-n disease. I just feel like going to the highest hill and screaming my guts out! Sorry for being a downer , I'm just feeling so frustrated.
Sue , has the pain in your rib lessened yet? I hope so. I hope your in bed , fast asleep. So you have a new boss. Try not to worry to much. I just had a boss change this week , and she is great! My stress level is way down , and I have help now. I'm so grateful. Sometimes change is good. I know when you are close to your boss , its hard. Maybe this one will be good too.xxxx
Thank you all for your prayers. I know they have helped. My sister is a "freak-out" kind of person , and she really is handling things well. I'll let you all know as soon as I here anything.
Shirlann , what a precious kitty Cleo is. She sounds like my Lilly. She is totally fascinated with water , has to watch the toilet flush , has to be on the sink when the water is running , and she fell in the bathtub when O/H was taking a shower! She is so funny. They are so much fun , aren't they.
Ulla , I hope you are doing well. Sounds like you found another wonderful friend. I'm so glad. You deserve all the happiness life has to offer.xxxx
Karen ((((((((((((karen))))))))))) I will definitely pray for your FIL and your dad. Hang in there honey , I know how stressful and worrisome it is when your parents are ill. I hope they are both doing better soon.xxxx
gb , thanks for all your support. I , like you will probably not be able to make the trip to NC. I'll by some lottery tickets too! If I win , you will definitely be going too! I'll keep your son and his girlfriend in my prayers. Breaking up is such a hard thing for everyone involved.xxxx
Lisa , I hope you had the best birthday ever! You deserve it girlfriend.
Hope they fix your car and all is well.xxxx
To all my sisters here , have a great evening and I hope all is well. Much love to you all.xxxx Melody

Sue - couldn't you fly into NYC?? Or somewhere closer then Chicago??
-
To all my animal lovers out there................
-
Hi Aunt Em ...It is 1AM and I cant sleep...I have work tomorrow xx
I put a search in for Manchester to NCarolina and it brought up that change in Chicago....I could prob fly to NYC and then get a flight from there....xxx
I just have to sort this insurance thing out...which is a nightmare...but I will research it....it could be rather difficult or come at an extortionate price with no insurers willing xxx
Well I better get to bed....xxx
I am fed up with bootface tonight and all the treatment...
I LOVE ANIMALS AND I LOVE PICS LIKE THIS! Thanks for the mail the other day with all the animals Aunty Em...I forwarded it to my son who loves animals too and he loved it !!!
Well my dears...I will see you tomorrow...or is that today LOL xxx
Sweet Dreams xxx

Morning sisters!
Just a quick hello, I am at work early today...5:30am!
Thanks for all the good wishes for my b'day. It was a nice day. Had lunch with my g/f of 48 yrs! Dinner at my Dad's, and a little Victoria Secret shopping! My daughter in Chicago sent me the most beautiful little book...all about noticing and appreciating the small things in life..can't wait to read it. My youngest wrote me a poem...it's so beautiful!! I will share it on here later.
Mel...why won't you come to NC? I don't have money either, but if we go in the fall, and there are enough of us..it will be cheap! We can cook in...save on food. You and I can drive together!! Please think about it!! It would not be the same without you!
Heck Sue...you could check flying into Cleveland, if it's any cheaper, you could drive with me too! It is about a 13hr or so drive...I forget, it's been awhile since I have been there.
Thanks for the info on the pic...I will have to look back over the older posts and try to figure it out! Not very computer savy.
I still need to figure out how to get all those stupid symbols off of my posts! (the posts from my home pc)
Have a lovely day!!
xoxo

Sue - not sure if I understand thsi whole insurance thing - do you mean yo have to get insurance to fly because of bootface??? We don't have anything like that here in the US.
Why are things always so complicated??????
Aunty Em
-
Sue, Charlotte airport has international flights all the time, I am not sure where they fly to/from. If you can get a flight into Charlotte, I will come and pick you up at the airport and take you to the Coast. I am about 45 minutes from Charlotte.

Hi girls! Thank you so much for your support and prayers. My FIL is doing well. His stroke was a very mild one and he's now on blood pressure meds and a blood thinner to prevent strokes in the future. My dad saw his kidney specialist yesterday and they discovered that his blood pressure was very low. This is surely why he was so tired and disoriented. There wasn't enough blood flow to his brain, probably! Anyway, the doc advised him to stop taking one of his heart meds. He sees his cardiologist next week, and hopefully he'll be better by then. It's just so scary when our parents get old and suffer failing health.
Lisa, I'm so glad you had a nice birthday. Here's hoping for at LEAST another 40!
Melody, how stressful this must be for your sis. The waiting is definitely the worst part. I'm still convinced that it's not cancer. Even if it is, it sounds like it's teeny tiny, so she'll be just fine! I hope your weather calms down soon. Those wind storms are horrible! I hate them because we live in a pretty wooded area. I'm always paranoid that a tree will come crashing through our roof!
Valsul, I'm so sorry for what you're going through. This bootface is such a rotten, crappy disease. I hate it with a passion! I'm praying for you, my dear sister! Please post when you feel up to it. We're here for you!!
My dearest Sue, you are in my heart as well. As are all of you wonderful ladies. I'm afraid I'll squeeze you all to bits and cry my eyes out when I finally meet you. You are all so special to me.
Love to you all--gb, Shirlann, Ulla, Sheila, Mia, Aunty Em, Poppy---I love you all!
Hugs,
Karen

Oh yeah we do Aunty Em, Medicare is not good in any other country. But most of us have a "Medi-Gap" plan which covers us. I think almost all private, or insurance of working people does cover you overseas.
Sue, honey, see if you can get a health insurance policy with the airline? And I would fly into New York, much cheaper, and you can either get picked up by a sister or ride the bus or train down to the Carolinas.
Honey, this fatigue is cumulative. But I think you will be not so tired with the next chemo. I think they gave you the double whammy with your first one. And don't worry about the type, medicine in England is top-notch, you would not get anything better anywhere.
Love you sweetie, Shirlann

Sisters...I had to get on and post. I worked from 5:30am-5:30pm today. I don't think that has anything to do with this pain. I was tired this evening and laid on the couch after I ate. Needless to say, I fell asleep very quickly. I woke up about an hour ago. I was having a bad hot flash, but what is really concerning me is the pain I am feeling. I feel like I could use dear Sue's description of how her bones ache. I really have not had many problems for so long, that this pain really scares me. I feel it in my knees, ankles and really concentrated in my arms (from my elbows down) and my wrists. What do you think this could be? I am going to take a vicodin (it's been since October that I have needed pain killers) and go back to bed.
Hope you are all doing well. Not too many have posted today. I'll check in tomorrow.
Here is to a good night sleep...and no pain!
Sorry to complain so much!
xoxo
