oh dear oh dear....I am trying to think....If I shave it I may feel too bad to go out....I wish you were both here.....WHAT TO DO....I am going to examine...the pain is very yuk...I don't want to be like Uncle Fester...let me go and see.... I am stalling really...and it will be a right mess on Monday... tonight is ideal.... xxx HO freaking HUM lol xxx
-
dear sweet sue,,plz listen to me and just shave it..inspite of the fact that we love our hair ,,at the end it is just f**kin damn hair,,no more ,,u must not feel more pain just becoz u want to keep it longer ,,take the control and shave it,,,i love u so much..
dear lisa the stickers help[ really to fade the scar specially if u use them 24 hours and just rwmove them when in shower then dry the skin and u can reuse them again ..they r quite expensive in here (5 strips 5cm*35cm )am not so sure about the measures cost me about 90US$ ,,but they really make difference and keep me feel comfortable about not seeing the scar all the time and keep it clean and fading it away,,but the dr told me that i need to use them 24 hours aday for about a year or more...so the scar can be merely visible after that time,,i am keeping my fingers crossed till that time as they planned me a delaied reconstruction ,,this is how things works here,,,if u want to use these stickers which i strongly recommend their name is ( MEPIFORM) they r made n finland ,,i mean those which i use ..u can find them in the parmacy just ask about them..
i hope i was usefulll..
sorry for the long post..
love,,hugs,,kisses

Go Sue...you can do it!! Trust us when we tell you...you will feel so much better. Think of it, regardless if you shave it or not..it is falling out..and it will be gone..right? So..why not save yourself from the pain of how bad it hurts right now, by shaving it off. Find a pretty scarf and tie one around your head. Do you have many scarves? If not..I will bundle up all of mine (they were given to me by my 2nd mom) and I will mail them off to you on Monday!
We are here Sue!!
-
Sue , you should do this tonight. Is there someone that can do it for you? Is your O/H home? Or maybe a close friend? Believe me , Uncle Fester WISHES he looked like you!
-
Ulla...I love you...I love your posts..YOU ARE A BLESSING....XXX
I will make a cuppa .... and then I will go get the clippers down...FREAKING BOOTFACE xxx
-
Oh Sue , I have some scarves I haven't even wore. They are beautiful fall/winter scarfs and I can send them to you too.
-
Thanks Ulla for the information!! My niece is an intern at a hospital, and she has done some of her rounds with Plastic Surgeons. She was telling me about some kind of tape that you put on scars. Maybe that is the same thing you have. She said, if I could not get some, she would try and get it for me. That would be great, if I could get it free. I know I can't afford $90.00.
I have my reconstruction in January (hopefully), so I will need it after that for my breast and my stomach.
xoxo

Hi Ulla.

-
Let us know about the scarves...they were easy...and looked very fashionable!! I matched my outfits to my scarves! haha...I always got compliments.
Be careful if you are doing it yourself..maybe have the o/h assist you.
-
They are light...not worried about the postage! I will send them to you on Monday! Promise! My 2nd Mom will be glad they are going to have more use!
It's ok to breakdown. Like I said...I was so relieved.
-
I have bean soup cooking in the crockpot , so I'm not going anywhere. But I think I will go make a cuppa too...
-
Oh Melody..that sounds wonderful! I love bean soup! My Dad makes the best..he brought me allot during my tx's. A cuppa sounds good too...I can't wait to leave work...3 more hours! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Snow should be coming.............
-
I am doing it...its too much agony and is making a mess...Wish me luck ..xxx
-
Hey baby, did you do it? Or maybe wait a while. I have heard the other gals say their hair hurt. Funny, huh? I wonder why?
Oh well, don't worry, I have known DOZENS of our sisters, and every one of them had their hair grow back, some liked the new hair better. So don't spend a minute worrying about that.
My new kitten is driving poor Dusty crazy. She hides and pounces on him. He acts like she is not there. But he is suffering. He was sleeping next to me under the covers in bed and the cat walked right over him and climbed on my neck. Dusty was so insulted! They are funny, but my visions of them playing and sleeping together, I guess, are not gonna happen.
Hang in there my dear, you are doing so good. This is a hard place. But you will get through it.
I am sitting here thinking of you. Hugs, hugs, hugs, Shirlann -
thankyou so much for the support ... you are the bestest ... I love you xxx brb xx
-
Luck to our Dorothy....we are here...and toto too!
-
Shirlann...your head hurts when it is at the point of falling out..not sure exactly why...but it is very tender. It feels so much better after the weight is gone..and the small pieces are gone..and all you have left is the nice smooth skin!
-

-
Ooooh, did you do it Sue? If not, just bite the bullet and DO IT! It was the best and most liberating thing I've done since being diagnosed with the damn BOOTFACE!!! It's just hair, after all!
Love you!
Karen
