Dear sweet Sue,
You express so well how we feel as mothers about our children. Even though they grow up and go out into the world you love them with such an ache. I love all of mine so much but have always been especially in tune with my eldest as we are similar.
There is nothing like a good, warm cuppa! I wish we were all with you right now, cosy and laughing together. In my imagination I can see us all there. We would crowd every bad thought out of the room.
I won't be posting for a while so I just wanted to send you my warmest hugs and to let you know that I am with you in spirit.
Love to all

gb ...... I will be in your spirit also...I mean with you in spirit....and I will miss you badly!! But I will send telepathic messages....and wish you a wonderful time in Canada...you lucky lucky thing...lol.... Think of me stuck in work....and having my stupid treatment nxt week...one day...I will be over to see you...it is the only dream I have .... to meet all of you...LOL....and I can imagine us all together.......
If I had my time all over again...I don't know whether I would have the courage to be a mum....knowing how painfully emotive it is...the love I feel tears me up at times...it is a true achey love gb..you're so right.... I told my eldest whatever happens the bond we have will never be broken....EVER..... my youngest is a little too young so I approach with him in a different manner...but as long as they are both happy then I am.... I feel like they have been with me all my life.... I am glad they have each other too....xxxx
I am going to peel myself away from the laptop and go have a bath....I shouldn't have sat down ...LOL
Much Love xxx

Welcome home Sue!
I too love the way you express yourself. The love between mother and child is like no other. And like GB said...it doesn't lessen when they get older. I have told my girls...I will always be your mom..always and forever!
Enjoy your cuppa...and bath. I had a cuppa this morning of green tea..thought of you as it was brewing!

I was off Thursday and Friday last week and I am just now able to catch up with the news on this thread. I hope all had a joyful Thanksgiving. My son (22 and in the Navy) called me on Sunday morning from Guam. His ship is deployed for the next 6 months and we mainly communicate through emails. I was excited to hear from him and he said he would try to call Christmas. I am busy getting a Christmas box ready to mail this week to make sure that he gets it.
We all do love our children, and worry about them no matter how old they are.
Sue, I go through the mood swings and I am not taking chemo! Sometimes I just want to crawl into a hole and get away from it all.
Everything will get better.
Sheila

Hi Sue
! Sorry you had to go back out tonight. When the weather gets cold I can't stand to go back out once I get home. Hurry home , take a nice warm bath and have another cuppa. My son and his girlfriend will be coming over tonight to decorate the Christmas tree. I have my "squirt bottle" ready for Lilly! If that doesn't stop her , I am shipping her off to you! She is such a stinker. But when I come home from work , and there she is , actually wags her tail like a dog and puts her little ears back and is so happy to see me , I just melt!lol Well , got to go get things ready. Pizza and leftovers tonight. Yea! Take care Sue.
Hi Lisa , Karen , Shirlann , Sheila, and gb , Oh gb , have a safe and fun trip to Canada. Hi to everyone else. xxxx Melody
-
Hello Melody! Is Lilly your little pig? How cute that she does that to greet you. My little guy (avatar) Oliver...is so excited when I come home..makes me feel so loved..lol. I too hate to go back out when I get home, esp. in the cold weather!
I hope everyone is doing well this evening!

I am so the same - I have a very annoying cat that I adore, who will only give me the time of day when
1)his food or water bowl is empty
2) I am on the toilet
3) I am in the bath and have left the door open
4)when the boyfriend comes over to visit (jealous little brat)
He is black, and overweight, and short haired and sheds enough hair for me to MAKE a wig - His name is Loki (the norse god of mischief)
but there is nothing like the weight of him at my feet at night, and of course when he deems it appropriate to interrupt my typing for a head scratch. He is bigger than my little cocker spaniel was and so when I say weight.. I MEAN It... lol
and there is nothing like my jammies after work, I am lucky if I get all the way down the hallway to the bedroom before all my clothes are off - especially this godforsaken plastic thing I have for a boob.
Off goes everything and heaven help anyone that makes me go out for anything. It will ALWAYS wait till tomorrow......
Have a great wonderful pet day. Hey? Is there such a thing? we have mom and dads day, and even grandparents day - is there a pet day? There surely should be!!!!!

Hi Ladies,
I have to say first off, I LOVE the pictures of everyone's creatures!! They are just the cutest. What would we do without our furbabies???
gb - have a great time "up north" as we say here in the states. We'll make sure to take extra care of Sue while your gone.
Sue, its after 7 here in NJ, so I have to assume you are fast asleep. Try not to fret over your hair. I did and it wasn't worth it. I actually enjoyed not having to fuss with it everyday. It would take me no time at all to get ready for work - no drying, styling, gelling, mouseing, absolutely nothing!!! LOL. The ladies are right, it probably will start hurting at some point. Thens when I had DH shave it off. It hurt to put my head down on a pillow. So I lopped it off!! If your up to it , why don't you have a haircutting party with your boys & OH? Have some drinks & treats and let them cut away!!!
By the way, I pm'd you. Did you see it?
Gotta run,
TTYS,
Valerie

....... it is lovely to see you Sheila xxxx
catch you all tomorrow xxxx
-
Hi Sue, you should be sleeping!!! I've missed you. I have been feeling too good this last week and have been busy "decking the halls" for christmas. It is so much fun.
Once my hair began to fall out, I kept it in a ponytail to keep it from going everywhere until I finally braved it and shaved it. My dear husband shaved his head the day before I did mine, and the day I shaved my head my sweet brother came over and let me shave his head. Then my 3 boys shaved their heads as well. It was so fun instead of traumatic. It was still hard (and still is!) to look in the mirror and see the stranger looking back at me. On the plus side, the savings in hair care and time spent blowdrying and curling my hair has been a blessing. I'm not sure how to post pictures on this site, but here is a link to the page of my blog where the picture of us all is posted after our headshaving party: You have to scroll all the way to the very bottom

Hope you can go back to sleep!!!!
-
Sue...I hope you weren't exhausted this morning! I hate when I fall asleep downstairs..then get up and go to bed. I always have a hard time falling back to sleep!
Mel...a new kitty and a Christmas tree..haha...you will have to let us know how the little guy does!
Ulla...I was so touched by what you said about your angel and how that led you to discover your cancer. God bless you!! I have lost 2 babies, so I understand the feeling of loss. I am blessed to have my 3 daughters..and for you I will kiss them when I see them..and it will be a kiss from you.
Karyll...I agree...we should make a pets day..when would it be?? Sometimes I think my little guy has it made everyday..haha...what a great life he has!!
Take care my friends...enjoy the day!

Good morning ladies! I'm gearing up for round #3 today. I may or may not be back tonight to check in with you. Last time it was like night of the living dead--I seriously felt like a walking zombie. Hopefully with that darn Adriamycin gone, I won't feel as bad.
Take care everyone and have a wonderful day. Hope the end of the workday comes quickly for you, Sue. I imagine you're tired today after spending half the night on the sofa.
Love and hugs,
Karen
-
Karen..what is your tx today?? Do you feel bad the first day? I usually did not feel bad until day 3 and 4...I wish you all the best!! Ill be thinking of you..what time today?
xoxo

-
Hello everyone xxx
Hope you are all 'ok' xxx
My goodness I am sooooooo tired...and ill ..... I got to work this morning...well I woke up feeling rubbish and off colour...so when I got to work...Adam chitter chatter box offered to stay until 5pm and I got off at 3 pm....God Bless him...he's just turned 21....and the irony is he lost his mum to b/c when he was 12....she got it when he was just 9.... so it is quite painful for him....even though he doesn't say so....and it is painful for me...as I imagine how my sons would be....but its all a little positive learning curve .... how ironic...and very sad...
Anyway ...I had to take nausea pill tonight for first time in a week...and I am off beat...my other breast is killing me...so I am having it checked out next treatment...I wish I had had it taken away... my back is also tingling again like it was in September...and I am little fearful....it is this dragging me healthwise more than the treatment...I always say treatment cos the c'#%o word makes me feel sick for some reason lol
POPPY IF YOU ARE OUT THERE ...THANKYOU A MILLION ZILLION FOR THE BOOK!!! I have read the first couple of chapters since I got in...it is brilliant....I am so grateful....I am truly blessed....xxxx I hope you are still recovering xxx
My arm is swollen again today...I have done too much lifting this week and so I am easing off...cos I can't be bothered mode is with me again and I am all out of energy....
I am now going to eat a big sugary jammy donut and a bar of chocolate....and think....
I also got my first xmas card from the US tonite....wow....its beautiful....
Anyway I will give up boring you all with my random posting ...lol
Much Love xxx

sunneedazee xxx it is always so good to see you and read....xxx I am glad you are feeling better...I am going to take a look at your website again....you are so amazing...and you have a wonderful family ..... full of unconditional love.... you always inspire me xxx

Hi Sue!! xoxo
Sorry you are not feeling your best. Put your feet up, get your book, your pastry and your chocolate..and your cuppa...wow..that's allot of things to get..haha. Rest..you need it!
That was nice of the young man you work with to cover for you. I bet it is difficult for both of you, given the situation with his mom. Funny how God places people in our lives like that.
Karen...I hope your tx went well..and you are tolerating it better this time.

I seem to be running behind on the comments about our furbabies. My Penelope is precious. She is a full blood basset hound and weighs 55 lbs and thinks she is a lap dog. She tries to climb in my lap when I come home from work. And if I scold her she actually goes to the corner to sulk.
Sue hope that you get feeling better. You do need to rest. It was nice of the young man to take over the last of your shift to let you rest some.
Thanks for the comment about my son. He called me again today, the ship is leaving port today and the only way we can rapidly communicate now is through e-mail. I don't know what I would do without it. I guess I would be worring too much if I could not communicate with him every couple of days.

HI SWEET SUE!!!!!
I got a new kitten. She is black with white feet. Dusty the Whippet is pissed to hell. hahha
She runs all over the computer keys and makes my writings even worse than they should be.
Sweetie, you aren't supposed to feel good. You are supposed to feel awful. And you do. This is the "stuff" killing your cancer cells. The rest of your body is none too pleased about this, so it is screaming in your ear, "Are you completely crazy?". "This is poison?". So that is why you don't feel good.
So just take a rest and put your feet up whenever you can. You will make it through this, not easy, honey, all the chemo gals should get Nobel prizes. AT LEAST!!!!
I am gonna go down and get my map of England and find out exactly where you are. We have been to Bath, Leeds, (I got to meet James Herriot, the vet who wrote "All Creatures Great and Small" in Thirsk). The town in Wales across from Ireland, and some other places, oh, Scarborough and Liverpool. I will find your town.
So take it easy, dear Sue, and give your poor body a nice warm bath and a bar of chocolate, it is now good for us.
Love you, Shirlann -
Sue,
Hoped you enjoyed your cuppa & your chocolate - Shirlann is right, what o are feeling is normal, except for the swelling - I'm glad you are going to get that checked.
Sheila - I have a 105lb bloodhound that thinks HE'S a lap dog. I actually pushed him off of me so I could type this.
Ulla - my heart goes out to you..........hop on the yellow brick road with Sue and things will get better.
Hugs all around,
Valerie
Karen - hope you aren't too under the weather, post when you can.
Shirlann - congrats on the kitten. If I brought one into my house my dogs would eat it for lunch.!!!
-
Hi Sue
! Better days are coming. One more day has passed. Which is one more closer to the end of treatment. Its inevitable. You're gonna feel like crap. But not forever. Your feeling like crap now so you can have forever. Hang tight sweet Sue. Oh my , I want to give Adam a hug! How sweet he offered to work over. Please take care of your arm. And yes , get everything checked out when you go for tx again. It will certainly feel better mentally to know you are ok. After my second treatment and going in for my third , I found a lump in my armpit , same side as bootface. And it was nothing serious. It was some infection. Chemo breaks you down and because of our diagnosis , we notice everything.Hugs to you Sue. xxx
Hi Lisa , yes Lilly is my kitten. But she is starting to get that "teenager" look to her. She is growing like a weed! I will be getting pics of her this week and I will post them. My piggy avatar is just a cute little piggy that I wished I had. I love piggies. I lived in Tennessee for a few years and my mom was helping a farmer take care of some pigs. One of the sows went into shock and ran in the woods and gave birth and left the babies there. Of course it was a stormy , rainy night , so mom and I took our flashlights and serched the woods until we found them. 13 cold , crying piglets. We brought them to the house and I stayed up all night feeding them with an eye dropper every hour. We only lost one.
What can I say? We bonded and I have loved little piggies ever since. Ok , that was my "once upon a time for the night!lol
Shirlann , awwwww, kittys are the sweetest , funniest , furbabies ever. What did you name her. Since she has white feet you could call her socks!lol Poor Dusty , he is probably feeling a little insecure.
Ulla , (((((((((Ulla)))))))) gentle , heart healing hugs for you sister.
Sheila , hugs to you and I will keep your son in my prayers.xx
Well take care all , and have a great evening.xx Melody
-
Hi Melody...and all the ladies here!

Melody...I love the story about the 13 little piglets! Oh my...I can just see them, and you feeding them with an eye dropper! A nurturer at a young age you were!
Val...your 105 lb lap dog...omg...I laughed when I read that! They are such funny creatures...our pets..they love us unconditionally and they are pleasers! My dog is truly a lap dog...all 4 lbs of him!!
Sue...I hope you are sleeping well right now and in your bed..not downstairs..haha.
Karen...post when you can dear...anxious to see how today went for you.
