Denise, I got your "knifty knitter directions for dummy's" and am able to do this I think! How do I know when to stop? Using 12 pegs will give me the 7" . Should I have been counting rows?? Oops. AND I think you guys are going to laugh at me when you see this thing. Oh well, use my squares on someone with a sense of humor!!

I have one in the works to be sent out...will be mailing it on Monday and I'll post pics. Running a bit behind...too much work, housework and yard work the past few weeks but I'm all caught up now so it's back to my crocheting fun!

Thank you all......the afghan travels between the upstairs or the downstairs, depending on what room I'm in....I so very much appreciate all the work done by everyone (and I admire how covert you all were!!)

I may have an afghan ready for shipping Monday/Tuesday (depends on my Dad-he is 86 and having a rough week)..need to get the list and check it twice....we are still waiting on Shel to receive her afghan.....

I got in lots of knitting during travel on my vacation. I flew SouthWest so I had to check in early to get in the first group to board. So I had a couple of hours each way to knit before getting on the plane and the fights were 2 1/2 hours. Vicki and Madison, I'll be mailing out some squares soon.
It was also wonderful to talk about what I was knitting. Everyone was really impressed with what were're doing. We are doing someting very special in the world and we should be proud of ourselves for it.
    love,

Girls, I'll be mailing each of you a package of squares tomorrow or Tuesday. Around 29 each I think.

Can we take crochet needles on the plane? Hmmmm.

Crochet hooks are ok on a plane. I flew with them in March. If you go to www.tsa.gov you can find the do's and don't's for carry on.

LOL Denise- The 270 is always there...I didn't even think about it. It is just another tool to us. Come to think about it, I think Jeannie mentioned to my husband that it was surprising to see it there too. Yep, it is there and it is loaded.

A neighbor just had a brown bear with 2 little cubs in their yard last week. It ripped up the rabbit hutch, killed their rabbits and was trying to kill their dog. I know that not everyone likes guns, but they are a fact of life when you live somewhere with big bears coming in the yard Actually, we also have a pack of coyotes that seem determined to eat my chickens this spring…so we have an eye out for them too.

My theory is it is much like carrying an umbrella and NOT having it rain…if I have the gun ready maybe I will never have to use it….BUT we are ready if needed.

Hi Deb, I see you have a Tulikivi too (that is a soapstone fireplace for the uninitiated). We put one in when we finished our basement in 1999. I was all prepared for the electric to fail on 1/1/2000. Fortunately that never came about but I love having a fire every night in the winter. -- Donna in VA

I got a square done on the knifty knitter! OK it took me a few trial and errors. First one was 11 inches and the 2nd one I ran out of yarn and it was 4 inches. Took both apart and finally got one 7 x 9. Almost done with a second one. Who do I mail these to anyway?
