MaryAnne - you're right - it would be odd to get mets "below the elbow or below the knee" I was told yesterday. The funny - or not-so-funny - thing was that the nurse and I had been playing phone tag and leaving messages so she thought I said I had had RIB pain for a month and a half, not WRIST pain. That's why she scheduled me in so quickly.

Anyway, all is well - They x-rayed my wrist and it looked fine. The doc wasn't in but his PA saw me and she really feels it's LE related. I've been referred to another therapist so hopefully things will only get better from here.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

Cathy - I'm thinking of you and praying for a speedy recovery!!
Deb - glad you're feeling better!!!
Michele - that's good news about Scooby! I'll be PRAYING for you on Thursday.
Debbie - Oh NO! SOOOO glad Roger's ok!!!!
Amy - beautiful pictures! I'm so glad you had a good time!
TracyS- very moving!! You are awesome! No tatoo for me either but I'll come with and hold someone's hand! (I'll just close my eyes!!)
Ok...I started this message hours ago...let me post and go!!
    Have a great day ladies!!!

I'm stopping by for a little bit to say...

I'm relieved that Rosemarie's wrist is not what she feared it to be,

and that Debbie's husband is fine even though the accident looked awful on photos.

Amy!!!! You have to come to Chicago!! We need to get tattoo'd together!

Busy day today.... still out and about for Relay this week. Kiwanis meeting tonight.

Deb - I SO want a kitten and I keep hoping that I will find one just like you did, then I would have a reason to keep it.

RoseMarie glad to hear about your good news....

    Gotta run for now!

    RoseMarie-
Great news. It's so hard to NOT BE PARANOID! Do you think as time goes by - we'll worry less? I hope so! If the pain continues, you might want to consider getting a MRI or CT - you may have a touch of Arthritis and there's meds that will help it. I know because I take some, and it really helps! Say hi to Kiersten!

    Cathy -
Hope you're feeling better every day!

    Meeshell -
We'll be circling you tomorrow! I know it's tough...who wouldn't worry! Hang in there. Try to think about Scooby being successfully socialized and in your arms again real soon.

    Paula - Kelly -
Hope you two are feeling better too/two...get it?

    Tracy -
You owe me a list! LOL Just key it in, and I will add the you-know-whats. You're arriving on Thursday...do you want to get your tattoo on Thursday night? I can look into it. I don't know if I am going to get one yet. Probably will. But can't decide what! Best wishes with your walk this weekend.

    ravdeb -
Those kitties are adorable! Are they strays? I am really quite sad...the stray cat that I have sheltered and fed for almost two years now, went out on Sat. afternoon and has not returned. Usually he comes home in the morning, then I feed him, brush him and rock him to sleep. I hope a Coyote or an automobile didn't get him...so sad. The first time he showed up in our yard, was right after my 1st Mast. - Roy fed him, because he said "nothing is dying on my watch". And ever since then, we have taken him to the vet as needed, fed him, etc. I let him sleep in my basement, because Buddy wouldn't let him in the house.

    Amy -
Nice pics! You're the Mojito Mama.

    -------------------------------------

    Hi Girls -
I'm working on the proposed agenda...

Cathy - i hope you are feeling better soon , day by day.
Rosemarie , what great news - when we hear from Michelle all will be well.
Amy - what great photos - you sure do photo well - we shall have you as our poster girl.
Deb - Catherine was overcome with your kittens andhas copied it to be her wallpaper.

Well , Rog no longer smells of smoke!! He has gone out to buy a cheap van to tide him over untill his insurance goes through. He has been back to the van at the garage with Middle Mark and salvaged some ladders, a drill and his plastering hawk which were smoke damaged but not burnt and we have cleaned them up with some Fairy power spray and the jet wash. This week end they have to go and buy new work clothes as all of th eworkwear was in the back too - the day before , Little Mark was in there for the day as i had to go into work - thankgoodness it didnt go then!
How it happened - well the van is only 3 1/ 2 years old so Rog was having it dealer serviced . He mentioned it kept cutting out but they couldnt find anything. as they came over a hill it cut out so they coasted into a layby to look under the bonnet, whilst doing that Middle Mark saw smoke in the cab ,coming out from behind the dash. That melted onto the seats and it just went up. It took the fire brigade a while to find them as the road was un named - by then the glass and tyres had exploded and there wasnt anything they could save.
Ah well , the Wards rise again!!

That is quite a story..and a scary one, Debbie. Glad Catherine liked my kitties. They are really cute. I expect we'll be having a few more as another mother cat is waddling around ready to deliver. We never get to see them til they are a touch bigger and then mom brings them on over.

I am the spot all the homeless strays know to come to. It drives my dh nuts but I keep putting food out for them as well as Casey. She shares her food with them. I have different cats here all the time. I've had 20 at a time at my front entrance! All my cats are stray but some are friendlier than others and stay longer. I used to be called the Cat Lady around here and the little kids would come by to check on my cats all the time. Now we have a big gate that is closed so cats need to jump over instead of just wander in, and kids don't see the cats. It's good because I've had wandering neighborhood dogs come and either scare my cats silly or grab the kittens. One killed my favorite one that I had been nursing to health. I was in tears and I don't usually get in tears over the kitties because we never have them long enough to get attached to them.

Well, I'm off to interview a rabbinical candidate for our congregation. I'm part of a committee that will be interviewing this afternoon. Am a bit nervous about this. I've interviewed for program coodinators before (and will be doing that on Monday as well...we will be staff-less at the end of this month) but a rabbi..this is new for me. Hope I know what to ask. Don't even know her credentials. Nobody shared them with me. Wish me luck!!!

Michele..what is going on with you?
Cindy, how are you feeling today?
Linda..how are you and your sister doing?
    Cathy...improvment over the days?

I want a pet so badly and Dave is just NOT a pet person. I would say that is the only thing about our relationship that is hard for me as I am an animal lover (especially dogs) and I have never been without a pet..... I keep hoping that something (puppy, kitten...) will happen into our path one day and that it will just be the natural thing for us to keep it.... Dave is more a cat person, I am more a dog person.... He thinks cats should be outdoors - I have lost several outdoor cats..... Someday, somewhere we will find a puppy or kitten and it will become ours (I hope.) I find myself looking for one all the time - along side the road, etc....

V - I LOVE THE PAINTING!!!! OMG - it is beautiful! You are so talented...... What a treasure this will be for all of us.

Laura - working on the list but I am stumped by the rest of the info - not sure how we are going to figure all of that out.... :-)

About the tattoo - I really do want to do it, but I am looking for company!!! Laura - do you know a good reputable place to go? Amy - have you designed your tattoo yet?

Cathy - how are you feeling? Good I hope!

Michelle - thinking of you..... (((hugs))).

    Where's Mary???

Have a good day, my sisters!

    Beautiful painting Victoria!
    Thinking and praying for Michele!

Went to the new LE therapist yesterday - FINALLY someone who knows what they're talking about! She gave me so much hope! My left arm is 17% bigger than my right arm but she said in 6 months I'll only have to bandage or wear a compression sleeve when I exercise!! Woohoo!! I'll start with the "intense" bandaging when I get back from Florida in July. We leave for FL on June 17 and will be back on July 10.
Have a great day ladies!!! Lots of love to all of you today!

V--a beautiful painting, full of strength, dignity and hope. I would be honored to have a print of it.

I went back to work Monday, half-time, and managed to eat something that gave me food poisoning. Darnit! I was terribly ill from 7 p.m. Monday until 5 a.m. Tuesday. It was so bad, I thought I might have to go to the ER, for IV fluids, if nothing else. But it finally stabilized. Ugh!

I stayed home yesterday to regain my strength. I'm at work today for four hours, and then will have my third of 12 weekly Taxol/Carboplatins tomorrow. The side effects from this chemo have been mild, so I've been doing really well. We'll see what my blood counts are on Friday!

I'm excited because after tomorrow, I'll be a quarter of the way done. However, the Great Follicular Exodus will probably begin this weekend. I foresee clippers buzzing in my near future!

Gosh Cindy - be careful !! Thats awful to get sick when you are trying not to get chemo sick.
Tracey - could you adopt a dog at a rescue cntre and get mail and cards from it?? My friend does that as her house is too small. She takes him special toys in and pays for his keep , then he sends her cards at Christmas and on her birthday!!
When i get brave enough i am going to get a tattoo at the base of my back - not on holiday tho as i wont be able to sit in the car properly on our epic trip!!
Rosemarie - i am glad they have sorted your arm. What did they do - take lots of measurements??

My friend got in touch with the sanctuaries that do not euthanase and took on a long term resident that was not going to be rehomed due to medical problems. He is a loveable Heinz variety mongrel. Now that she is paying for him , the sanctuary can afford to let him stay there and heis not taking the place of another dog.
I pay to adopt an ex police horse for my sister , i pay for her birthday. Obviously lots of people pay for the same horse , but he sends her cards too. It is down south , Irene visited him one year , there was a list above his stable door saying who his'friends' were.

    Tracy -
I think there is a place not too far from my house. I'll go with and hold your hand! LOL I don't think I'll get a tatto, but I might get my belly button pierced. I'll check into it.

    Yeah...where is our Miss Melody?

    Debbie -
I really think you should write a book! Thank goodness Rog is okay!

    Meeshell -
Hope your appt is going well.

    RoseMarie -
    Have fun in FL!

    Hi Girls!

My nieces have recently asked if they can bring a friend when they come for the weekend...they're at "that age". Here's ShelbyLaura and Kimberly this past weekend enjoying our newly "built" fire pit...I let them start the fire because I told them it would be a great team building lesson! It took them an hour, but they did it!

    Hello My Sisters!

Thanks ladies for all your good thoughts, well the news is good, yah!! I had an appt with my surgeon and he said that the small lump that was there last Thursday is now gone, he did a through exam on my left and right breast and underneath my arm and can no longer feel anything. He said the cyst that the on call GP saw last week was most likely inflamed last Thursday but has now resolved itself on its own, thank the Lord!! I can now breathe again…..whew…..

It is a gorgeous pleasant summer day out today. We had our annual company bbq which was nice to have in this weather. I am on the social committee so spent a lot of the day helping out organizing, setting up and then cleaning up for the crews that worked today. We have our final 4th of 4 bbqs tomorrow.

I talked to the trainer again last night and Scooby is doing great with the training and now sports a saddle bag on her walks with two water bottles on each side. The trainer said it is great for the breed of dog that she is as it gives her a job to do, physically and mentally lugging the pak around and also burns off a great amount of excess energy. She is working on her nervousness around other dogs, the jumping up on people, sitting and be relaxed with 4 other dogs running around in the same room as her. I asked if I could go up and see her this weekend and the trainer said I am not going to say that you can not come up to see your dog but she would prefer if we didn’t as it would be too hard for Scooby once we left. She still has to spend at least another week with the trainer, so we are staying away until we can bring her home.

I had a girl at work say, my god you have so much hair and I cant believe how curly and thick it is. Tomorrow I am going to try putting the top part up in a pony tail or clip at the top of my head as it is at that in between stage and the curls are just everywhere.LOL.

Laura – look forward to seeing pictures of the finished basement. The mojito receipe sounds yummy!!

Looking forward to hearing your ideas for the get together….

What is the facing of your firepit made of? It looks like cement?

Deb – I laughed, yes we will have to be tough parents and follow through on the training that has been instilled in her…..Thanks for the good thoughts….it worked!!! We change our pictures on our desktop as I love to take pictures of my family, pets and dh. I also like to take scenery pictures of the snow in the winter and the colour of the leaves in the fall and change them as needed. Right now the picture is of our “Scooby” with lying on her bed with her rope…very cute!

Those kittens are too cute for words, what did you do with them?

Rosemarie – sorry about the le, my left arm is swollen too. I try to wear my compression bandage a fair bit and it really does help but is hot….

Your Florida trip sounds wonderful! Will you be going to visit family there?

Brenda – I got your pm the other night, sorry didn’t respond. Do you want to stay in our room? I can request a cot if you do and it will be cheaper. When are you arriving? Deb is not arriving until the Friday night and I am coming in Thursday so you could have the bed for the Thursday night and I will request a cot for the Friday, Saturday. Please let me know what your plans are.

Victoria – the painting is breathtaking….love it. How much are the prints that you are making for us?

Debbie444 – all I have to say is thankfully everyone is okay. You can replace the tools and get rid of the smell of the smoke but life is irreplaceable….

Tracyseattle – I can relate on the pet aspect, especially our pups. We love them to pieces. We have had dogs for the past 14 of the 18 years we have been together, would be awfully lonely without them.

Cathy – how are you feeling since your surgery?

Cindy – big hugs my sister, sorry that you were so ill. The hair thing sucks especially since you just got your new locks growing again. Hang in there my dear….I cant imagine having to do chemo a 2nd time…you are a fighter though and make us proud!

Hello to Maryanne, Kelly, Linda, Jill, Mary, Amy…and anyone else that my little bitty brain forgets.

    Have a super evening!

    Love
    Michele

WOOO HOOO Michele and Rose Marie!!! I'm glad you both are fine and everything is okay. Always makes me happy.

Here's my good news....saw a fertility specialist with my hubby today and he said absolutely I can get pregnant in 4 years when Tamoxifen is done. He did an ultrasound and my ovaries are working and still happily producing eggs even after chemo My husband did his um...sample...and that should be okay too. The doctor said that best case scenario....we have our own biological child. Worse case scenario...my ovarian functioning changes on Tamoxifen and we have to use an egg donor. But, regardless of the egg....it's ME who will get to be pregnant I'm so excited. We cried and danced and hugged and decided that the next 3 summers (4 including this one) will be filled with nothing but traveling, time with friends and family and our dog-to-be, buying a bigger house, getting into shape, and being newlyweds for a bit longer. It was such a good appt. because it just pulled me out of the feeling that I was damaged. I'm not. Things are working as they should

Wow, such good happy posts in the last day.

    Michele, glad you are bumpless.

Amy, you are now an expectant mother! The gestation period will be 4 years 9 months, maybe you are part elephant. I am so happy ypu had such encouraging news today.

The painting is phenomenal Victoria. I love the soft tones and the way it flows to the center filled with flowers. Well done!

No tattoo for me, it is too permanent. I have my scars to wear for the rest of my life and that is plenty for me. I will hold hands and give medical advice and recover any fainters...

Cindy, yuck, you were sick-but it is was just one day. And you handled it. Remember that your hair loss is temporary, it will soon be back.

My LE sleeve arrived today. I have minimal swelling so will only wear it for exercising and flying. It is a beige color. What was the name of the site with the cool sleeves?

Nice fire pit Laura. The benches just fit too. Ours is verrrrry rustic, compared to yours. This pic is a few years ago with my in laws. My FIL will be 97 in October. He still drives and is a good driver. He is amazing!

AMY - Congratulations, Mommy!! I am so happy and excited for you! What a great thing to look forward to!

Come on - ladies, am I going to do the tattoo thing all by myself???

HEY GUESS WHAT!!! I mentioned something to Dave tonight about him not letting me have a dog. He said you can do whatever you want - it is your money and you will have to take care of it..... I said, "Well I want you to like it" and he said, "Well, I probably will!"

So now I am afraid to think about getting one. What if he doesn't bond with it? but what if he does? Then he would love it and it would be such good company for him..... What to do, what to do????

V -- I am sure that everyone who walks in my house will love the painting. It is so moving. I wish you were here to help me put more earth into my home.

Lauralou -- love your firepit ... Miss T is vacationing in the Desert and would be so envious of your nieces!!

TracyS -- hope you get your pet soon!!

Cindy -- do you need wigs or scarves? Lemme know. Will mail something if you need it.

Amy -- I am so happy for you. My dd has been my greatest joy and sadly, for her, my greatest comfort and strength. She is so helpful, especially when Mommy tries to get up off the ground after playing a board game or jax!
