madison ........... mackenzie wrote out a little note to EE and i sent it to you. please don't feel obligated to include it .......... but i promised her i'd send it.
it's kinda cute, and sure opened my eyes! (mac doesn't talk much to me about my cancer at all) so i had a good 'blub' when i read it lol! -
awww Shel that is so very sweet.
-
she is "something special" that kid of mine!!!!!!
-
Shel, oh my goodness, the message from you child was awesome....
-
i will be sure to tell her you said that!
thank you for including a child's viewpoint!
"out of the mouthes of babes" .............!
i am very proud of mac! -
ok Shel we all want to know what she said ya know!
Amy -
ok...i'm nosey...what did sweet Mac write?
Shel...I think that's great!!! -
Vickie, sent you a PM
-
in a nutshell, she pretty much admitted she was scared more than she let on, but was now more secure and not so embarrassed by my cancer and my openness about it!
she told EE that she was proud of all of us for "speaking up" and now knows "how important it is for us to help each other"
she said she hoped EE treasured her afghan as much as i treasured my quilt, etc etc!
and she intimated that she finally understood the need for us to help each other!
the kid is wise beyond her years, for various reasons ...... but what an astute kid she is!!!!!!! -
What a darling daugher you have Shel. What a wonderful thing for her to do. Thank you for sharing.
Hugs
Vickie -
Wonderful friends,
My daughter is bringing the afghan and album to be wrapped. It will be delivered tonight.
Your wonderful words of comfort, wisdom and sharing will touch EE's heart. I am in awe of your spirit of giving, love and compassion. Thank you so very much for making this project possible.
Love, Madison -
I mailed an afghan today, priority mail with tracking! I will post pictures later after I finish mowing the lawn...wonder if I can crochet as I mow...hmmm.
-
Vickie--
Only if you use a riding mower! -
Shel, sounds like you've got a special DD there! How old is she?
Vickie is mowing and crocheting at the same time......the talent that lady possesses!
Madison: Can't wait for EE to receive gift! Do you know if she is with John E. or is she home?
Hugs,
Denise -
Well I have a riding mower but decided it wouldn't be the safest thing in the world to be driving and crocheting at the same time!
Here are pics of the afghan I sent out today. The center is a lapghan that was made by the ladies at the church. -
Oh my goodness gracious, Vickie, that is beautiful...wonderful...
It is absolutely fantastic.....
I wish I could hug each and every one of the ladies at your church (and hug you!!)
Denise, I am waiting to hear from my "contact". I don't think Elizabeth will be here tonight....the individual that has our afghan and album is a dear friend that will make sure it is delivered into the proper hands.
Hugs to all, Madison -
thank you Madison...I have some really pretty lapghans. The next one is going to be all squares though. I have one that would be perfect for a man if anyone has a suggestion. Lots of nice browns and greens.
thank you for all you did to get EE's afghan delivered. -
Very pretty Vickie! So nice of your Church ladies to donate the lapghans..
Thanks Madison for all you did to get the afghan to EE!
Hugs,
Denise -
I can confirm that John Edwards was presented with the afghan last night. The album was included with the gift. The album included all of your wonderful words and information on where we are located.
He was very touched by this gift for his wife.
I promise to post more details Monday.
Thank you, Madison -
Hello, Good Morning,
I submitted a collage of afghan pictures to the Discovery Channel website (with a short story)for the live program tonight. There is a link on the home page that will tell you what time the program will be aired.
Individuals from breastcancer.org will be on the program tonight.
Madison -
I am mailing this afghan tomorrow morning.
Thank you all so much.
Close-up -
Madison,
I still get excited everytime I see a completed afghan!! Very pretty!
Hugs,
Denise -
Madison...oh so pretty and you submitted our "story" to the Discovery Channel...thats really cool. I doubt I will watch but maybe...if I can stay awake.
Love and hugs
Vickie -
I watched. It was ok. Not sure what I expected but it wasn't what I expected. And that makes no sense whatsoever soooo I'll just say it was ok.
-
I watched too. I guess I was expecting some great revelation but for me it was more like 'hey, been there, done that.' This will probably be more educational for those who aren't familiar with what its like to live with cancer.
-
I also watched the program. I was disappointed. Shirley, I agree with you - it wasn't what I expected either.
-
I agree. I watched and was disappointed. Hey Madison Beautiful afghan.
-
I didn't watch it and I'm glad because I would've been disappoited, too.
cheri -
Trixiegram got her afghan today!!! I am so glad and I copied her post to put it here for all you wonderful ladies to see.

I receieved a lovely surprise on my front porch this morning. This pkg. must have been there since last night, since we don't get maile until late afternooon. I seldom go out the front door - other than just to get the paper and/or mail - and I forgot to check porch yestrday after returning from PT.
Anyway, I received a lovely afghan from all of you, The Circle Girls group. And a very sweeet card and list of names of those who sent me the afghan. The afghan was so unexpected and is so appreciated. I showed it to Tommie this morning and the first words out of his mouth, were - "Wow! What a great afghan and how nice of them to send it to you." I have to agree! I ussed to come on the "Circle Wagon forumn" when it was first started - but I must admit, I haven't kept up on the different thraeds and forumns in a long time and this one has grown so big since it was first started, so don't really know much about the " Circle Girls Afghan Project". I am assuming that it is much like the "Quilt Project", in that, you send these lovely afghans to oothers who have battled or are still battling the BC beast and/or are still going thru a hard time. I am familar with some of the names but unfortunately, I don't really know some of the others, listed on the note, along with the card, sentt with the afghan. But rather I know you or not, it is such a thoughtful, lovely gift. It brought ( happy ) tears to my eyes when I read the card and other note and pulled the afghan out of the box. There are so many others that deserve this, more than I do. There are so many who are going thru BC for the 2nd or 3rd time - who are in worse perdicments thna I am. But I have to say, rather I really deserve it or not, I cherish it - especially the support it represents and the sentiment and love that comes with it. It comes at a low time in my life and has lifted my spirit more than you will ever know. It gives me comfort, everytime I look at it. A simple "thank you", doesn't seem adequate - but hard to tell you how much it all is appreciated, no matter how many words I use. Not doing too well in the "word " dept. nowdays anyway, so hope you will accept my "thank you" anbd all that those two words encompass.
Thank You So Much,
Niki -
{crying} {{{Trixigram}}} So Happy You received Your Afghan!
xoxoxo Puppy
I am so Proud to be in this wonderful gift of Love and Support!!!!!!!
