Betrayal, Duggar's wife has supported him during his arrest, trial and conviction. She believes he's innocent even tho the evidence presented in court which she was present at was lock tight. Go figure.
I followed some good reporting on the trial. The judge skillfully handled all court proceedings well.
After serving his 12.5 year sentence, Duggar will have 20 years of supervised release along with special conditions including no unsupervised contact with minors. He must "proceed with caution" regarding any event that might include minors. He needs to receive prior approval from the U.S. Probation Office before "attending any such place, function, or event."
Duggar must submit himself, residence, place of employment, vehicles, papers, computers and any other electronic devices or storage media for search any time there is suspicion that he may have violated any condition of his supervised release.
He is not to possess, use, or have access to a computer or any other electronic device that has Internet or photograph storage capabilities without prior advance notice and approval of the U.S. Probation Office. He's forbidden to view any kind of pornography. He must pay for internet-monitoring software to be installed on any approved devices and must submit to random searches of any devices. Duggar is never to own or possess a firearm, must submit to random DNA collection and must participate in a sex offense-specific treatment program and pay for it himself.

Jackie, I just wanted to let you know that on a personal note, things are good for me. The current political landscape of the U.S. increases my anxiety levels so I limit my exposure to it. Please know, though, even if I don't always comment, I still visit this thread every single day. It helps keep my sanity! You and everyone else post memes (like pupmom’s above!) that continually knock it out of the ballpark. And I appreciate the commentary from everyone.
Another reason I don't post as often is the misguided forum upgrade. Continues to be a mess with no relief in sight. It's like when Kenny Rogers got a face lift. Well his old face was fine. But the plastic surgery which was supposed to improve his appearance was botched and he never looked the same. That's kinda what happened here. It feels more like a downgrade than an upgrade. It's heartbreaking.
Once last thing. I'm having a good summer! My past four-five summers have been affected by foot surgery two years in a row, a year of difficult treatment for mbc and then that pandemic thing! Last summer it felt like we were all still adjusting and pulling out of the pandemic nosedive. I deal with a few treatment side effects but for the most part, this summer is busier and I've been having fun.

I sometimes cannot believe who we share this planet with. As staunch a Democrat as I've become in the last 15 or so yrs. there is no way I'd appear in public with anything even close to those " cult " tees the couple have on. Then again, I think the Loon mentioned on more than one occasion that he liked people who were not educated well. He is clueless that they just might have one or two more brain cells than he does.
-
Hmm, new one on me Mitch. I must have been cheated out of a lot of mine if others are still going strong.
-
I got a bit tired of listening to him when he spent a lot of time on the news channels. but I do get a kick out of this. Loon has never had an adult day and likely never will. He has never been mentally right so it is likely impossible. In the end I just want him tried. I want all his money to be gone before the dementia gets him. I want him to know and feel what is going on and why.

When I speak about attention, I mean literally, "How much attention
can we pay to ourselves?" As children, sometimes we cannot hold
our attention for more than a couple of seconds. Over the years we
are able to attend to more and more. Yet, we're seldom schooled
to hold life in respect, to enlarge our ability to love, take care of,
and be respectfully connected with all things around us.

exbrnxgrl: Thanks for reminding me of the different political views held during the Civil war. I stand corrected and accept this willingly. The repugnicans of today though, are all about voter repression of anyone who is not white so I still do not understand the guy from AZ's stance.
DivineMrsM: You are missed when not posting but I can understand your anxiety because there are days when I read the postings here but cannot chime in because it is too distressing where we are heading and that we are still being too polite. Time to shed that skin like a snake would and take back our country before we are back to identifying women s witches and resurrecting the Salem with trials.
As far as this website have you noticed the lack of updates as to the configuration of this hot mess? So moderators if you are reading, it is about time for an update and/or the truth about this site. Is this the final, albeit awful, version? I do think we need to hear the truth and not another polite redirect. This version is not an improvement and you have been buffaloed by the company that created this mess. The left margin continues to be tooooooooooo large, the print too small and the overbright white background is glaring when trying to read. It takes too long to load and trying to go back a few pages to play catchup is a chore. How about some answers? I do not hold you responsible but the only source we have for answers.

Also noticed the long and pretty much un-productive changes that were to take place here. All I have ever noticed is a slight darkening ( not near enough ) of the print. I think it has remained the same size though. I know I expected more and it seems to me that anything coming is taking the longest route possible. I will hope for some answers that give a timetable. Surely this is not IT.
For some reason I didn't feel like posting much today. Some days are like that. I'm anxiously awaiting the 1/6 televised comittee meeting tomorrow. Sort of wondering if we will only have the two more or if enough new infor may have surfaced or be surfacing that more televised hearings will come about. Sure sounds like some new materials and new verifications are out there now for sure.
Do hear ( and that is sad ) that Ms. Hutchinson is in hiding now. Years ago, people reveered the truth, but now there are groups that want to make you miserable and take vengeance on you should you have the temerity to be honest and forthright.

Not the way it works, but something that is a pleasant thought anyhow.

Betrayal and IllinoisLady, the main reason that "improvements" have stopped is because BCO finally admitted to themselves that the tech team they contracted was wholly incompetent, and they are looking for a new platform for the site and forum. I hope the new set up will be much easier to maintain and adjust for the end users.
For the next installment of "Conversations You Never Want to Have With Your Coworkers", we recently discovered that one of our regional directors is a serial sexual harasser. She (yes, "she") referred to one of my teammates as her little "pillowbiter" - to one of our franchisers. When he decided to file a complaint, all the other incidences she's pulled started coming to the surface - calling one therapist "hot" and "sexy", continuing to touch one of our front desk staff after he asked her to not do so, etc. There is just one male employee who she hasn't done anything inappropriate to, and I think it's just because he hasn't been at our studio very long. I talked with every male coworker at my studio and asked them to file a formal complaint if she or anyone else at management or above ever does anything inappropriate or makes them feel uncomfortable. Also, to be aware of any actions that could be retaliatory if they do report.
Our HR director is trying to sweep it all under the rug. "She was just joking around. We don't need to file a complaint. We'll just talk to her." If there's no paperwork, it didn't happen. And we want to make sure it is documented as having happened. We can't file an EEOC complaint until bad behavior continues after initial disciplinary action. Then it can be shown as a pattern that requires external intervention. So it sucks that at least one more guy has to endure her creepiness, unless she actually stops being creepy.
My other concern is will she actually learn and change her actions, or will she just stop acting that way around our studio? She and our franchisers are trumpeters, and they feel entitled and above the law. I'd bet that she will just see our team as "no fun" and continue to harass at our other studios.
-
Betrayal, we are aware of your and others' concerns about the glitches and readability of the forum. Our tech team is working diligently to correct what they can, while we simultaneously work to update our platform. Updating the platform is critical to complying with new technology and allows us to make easier viewability changes as necessary. We hope to have updates on all of this in the near future. In the meantime, you can see glitch fixes here: Release Notes.
Thanks for your patience!

I hope no one here who may hail from Texas ( and I so enjoyed living in San Antonio while going to school ) will feel I'm picking on Tx. I just feel for ya'll with some of your politicians who seem to make your existence there more difficult then it slhould be.
-
We tend to think of him as mentally damaged and he is, but despite the fact that he is also very stupid, like most con artists a good part of him recognizes exactly what it takes to manouver the con and take advantage and as he has proven time after time, has no sense of conscience or care and will do what he does often in a painfully vicious way. He knew from the get-go what he wanted and he had not one qualm about doing whatever it took.
-
Sorry, but I just ran across it.
-
Jackie, I was born and raised in Austin, TX. Left there 30 years ago and never looked back. I am one of the biggest Texas bashers out there because I KNOW how low it has gone.
-
I still live in Texas but certainly agree with the views on this thread. Thanks Jackie for feeling sorry for us. Our politicians are just nuts & we can't seem to get rid of them no matter what we do.
-
I lived in Houston/The Woodlands for almost 9 years but that was 34 years ago! There were many things I enjoyed while living there but the politics was far too conservative, even back then. The gun culture did freak me out as it was totally outside my realm of experience.

Maybe this will be the thing the lands Trump in jail?
