Spookiesmom: LOL - so true.
-
Yes so often cats are heat seeking missiles. AND they are also contrary
Below photo sent to me 2 days ago by my cousin. On the left her cat Lucky. Grey object on the right is the heating pad she bought for him at Christmas.... -
Our bathroom has in floor heating so this is where you find 2 of the 3 cats at night. One sleeps closer to the outer wall which is the warmest spot and the other sleeps on one of the throw rugs. Since they cannot have a rubber backing they are like sleeping on a heating pad. They grouse at you if you have to disturb them at all.
-
In floor heating sounds wonderful!! Move over cats🤣
-
Haha I'm with you, Spookiesmom!
FF that photo just really sums a cat's behavior up
-
The picture looks like my Louie. Bothe Miss Felix and Midnight Louie are heat seekers. Miss Felix sleeps in front of the refrigerator on a folded towel. I tried a pillow, but she didn't want it. Louie sleeps in the bed, on the couch, on a chair, on a cushion, or where ever he wants.
-
Reminds me of the well known poem
-
Lovely poem and oh, so true. Why do we waste so much money on cat toys when their favorite space is a cardboard box or an empty clothes basket? Two of mine actually sleep in a cardboard scratching box (next to 2 plush cat beds) which to me resembles a bed of nails.
-
Last night we couldn't find Bella. She hadn't eaten or used her box all day. I have a wonderful flashlight and looked everywhere upstairs, under things, etc. and couldn't find her. After about 45 mins of both of us looking and caller her name, she saunters down to the main floor to get some petting. We have no idea where she was hiding.
-
I’ve cleaned out DHs closet, put some Christmas things in it Had the bi-fold doors closed. Apparently MrNosey doesn’t like closed doors. I don’t want him pawing anything off the shelves. So I booby trapped the doors, with my grabber across the doors.
I just heard a crash.
And now there is a rather unhappy kitty on my recliner. 🤣🤣
-
Well Wrenn we are getting a look into Queen Bella's personality haha
Spookiesmom my Lucy cat was that nosey. I could never ever leave anything open or slightly ajar because she would be in it before I could blink.
-
Wren thank goodness Bella was fine, but that must have been a very anxious 45 minutes.
Although we have an easy to use, in-built, folding attic ladder, we always had to have two people to get something from, or put something away in, the attic when our dear Arthur was alive.
One person was to do the actual job, the other person had to stand at the bottom of the ladder and prevent Arthur racing up into the attic. He would come from anywhere when he heard the creak of the spring in the attic hatch door. If you weren't vigilant he would get up there, hide in the edges of the roof and refuse to come down. We'd have to leave it open for him to come down in his own sweet time. of course the attic was also not a cat friendly environment - fibre glass insulation, splinters etc...

Louie does disappear from time to time. Both he and Miss Felix can open cabinets and bifold doors. Louie can open some of the bedroom door and sometimes can open the patio door. It has a lever handle. Door knobs can be difficult for me.
-
FF you made me laugh out loud with that story! Sounds like trips to the attic were a well planned military procedure

This is for Petite1: www.msn.com/en-us/video/peopleandplaces/elderly-22-year-old-cat-is-melting-hearts-online-as-she-s-hailed-a-queen/vi-AASXV7d?ocid=windirect

Betrayal, Thanks for that. Miss Felix and I are fortunate that she can move a little better than the video star. Miss Felix is very talkative and has the same coloring as that kitty. Though she is a calico. We tried getting stairs like it the video, but she did not like them or use them. The only furniture she will climb on is the patio furniture. When we pick up and put her on the bed or couch, she won't stay put a minute or 2. Miss Felix turned 23 around January 1, the county has her birthday as November. Anyway, she is 23 and the queen.

-
I posted and it fell off. Miss Felix needing a warm lap to sit one.
-
It IS COLD here this morning.
-
Yesterday I wondered if Manx cats have cold noses because they don't have a tail to cover it with. Bella is a Manx.
-
Pywacket nose was cold last night and the heat is on. Most days he's in my bed zonked out in a pile of blanket.
Or finding new places to annoy me
-
He does keep you on your toes and provide us with some smiles. What an adventurous boy!
-
Our first cat would climb MIL's china cabinet and snooze in the punch bowl on top.
-
He is just like Midnight Louie and into everything. The higher the better.
-
it’s a pretty high jump up there. You can see the white table reflecting in the glass. I don’t know how he does it.
-
My cat was using the door. From there it was an easy jump.
