    I love the cat screenshots!

Hefty cat appears still hefty. Been eating very very low carb food for about a month, I sure don't see any results.

Together, They aren't supposed to lose weight rapidly. It's very hard on their liver.

My vet told me that they can also become anorexic if they lose too fast.

Good morning, cat lovers. Hope everyone is doing well and the cats are well. Midnight Louie and Miss Felix are enjoying the warm days.

Squeakers scared us to death yesterday. In the afternoon I noticed he had used his box for poop, walked a few feet away, laid down and pooped a lot more. Then walked a few more feet, laid down and peed. He couldn't bear weight on his back legs. His eyes were not the same and a little crossed. We couldn't get hold of his vet, so took him to the emergency vet. I was hoping it was low blood sugar and not a blood clot that paralyzed him. It turned out to be a vestibular incident, caused by his ears. The symptoms are very much like a stroke. They gave him fluids and a shot for nausea, did blood work (which was good except for blood sugar) and said to keep an eye on him. He was there until 9pm and ravenous when we brought him home. He was eating cat food like he was a dog, only coming up for air. He seems to be ok this morning. Thank goodness I applied for the 1year no interest credit card from our credit union.

Oh Wren what an awful thing to have to go through! So glad he is doing better and it doesn't appear to be heart related or insulin related. Sorry you couldn't get to your reg vet either, those emergency vet bills are hideous.

Let us know how he's doing, Wren.

In other cat news, Shittens struck again. This is the fourth pair of ear buds the one Shitten has destroyed.

The second photo is my old boy Wally. We had a virtual mezcal tasting Tuesday night and he would not leave us alone. So my husband grabbed one of the cat beds and put it on the counter with us. He stayed there the entire time!

Oh boy. Now you're scareing me. I have a possibility of getting a 10 week old boy tuxedo. Guess I'm dumb, thought just puppies chewed up stuff. If this happens I'm gonna need some help. DD and I are going shopping later, for essentials. Don't know what Spookie and Kris will do.Suggestion for introduction?

Spookiesmom, Miss Felix and Midnight Louie like to destroy stuff. Especially paper. Midnight Louie ripped up a book. Fortunately, it was not a library book or one I needed to return.

I've had a lot of cats, and Stevie (one of the Shittens) is the first one I've had who's a chewer. Annie, the other Shitten, isn't. So you might get one but you might not.

Having Stevie has taught me to put away all cords (ear bud or power cords for my phone). She just cannot help herself. She also chewed through a couple of camisole straps, and destroyed a pair of thin, wool trouser socks. Again, this is the first cat ever for me who chews.

Some cats love to destroy toilet paper hanging in the bathroom, or paper towels. I've had one of those, too, and so we stored all our TP in those solid storage canisters you can get just about anywhere.

But the snuggles and purrs are wonderful. In fact, Stevie (the one who chewed those ear buds I posted about this morning) is on my lap right now. I will miss having that once we're back in the office!

Spookie thought it was fun to grab the TP end and run around the house. I put a bell on her collar so I could hear her. She was 2# when I brought her home.

Spookie, Have a separate space for the kitty. Let him/her get comfortable there before introducing the dogs. Good idea to have the dogs on leashes when they're being introduced. Cats vary in their response. Some hide and are scared. Others are too bold for their own good. One of ours whacked the dog when she sniffed her and that established who was in charge. Another kitten thought the dog was his mother and they played and snuggled non stop. ASPCA and others have info sheets on introductions. We suggest having a covered kennel in the kitten's room for a hiding place (looks like a cave). Try to block access to places to hide. The shelter has had to retrieve kittens in walls and ceilings. Pretty big job.

We're expecting a kitten boom this year because so few vets were doing spay and neuter during the pandemic. The shelter took in 71 cats, 7 mos to 2 yrs, from a studio apartment.

Whoah I can hardly manage 4 cats in a 1600 square foot home, I cannot imagine 71 cats in a studio apartment!

My mother's neighbor had a very cross eyed Siamese named Pyewacket. He was a talker. What a cutie and a contrast to your white dogs. I hope he brings you much joy.

    edj3: Is Wally feeling better?

petite1: I enjoy the stories about Louie and Miss Felix. They are so gorgeous.

Oh no. Delivery problems on diabetic cat food. I ordered it last week and it is not expected until Tuesday. Felix is out. She is already flooding the cat pot and meowing constantly. She has eating, but it is regular cat food and it seems to be throwing her system out of balance. Any suggestions?
