My two are so talky, particularly one of them. She has a lot of little trills and hums. I love talking to her!

edj, How is Wally doing? Are they getting along any better? Sometime Louie leaves Felix alone and then other times he wants to play, but she goes on defense and it turns into a fight. They have been good the last couple of days.

A friend of mine is a rescuer/fosterer (for the same charity where both Alannah and Elliott come from).

This week she rescued a big stray tom who had semi long hair that had become so matted he was in so much pain that he was not even eating.

They had to completely shave his body.

This is Brad as he's been named when first rescued

The next two pics are Brad's undercoat and Brads top coat after being shaved off. They came off solid. She took the pictures for showing how bad this can get.

The last picture is Brad in his foster home just loving it!

He is soooo happy. She sent me a video as well and he just cant get enough of the stroking.

Without his body fur he looks a little bit like Puss in Boots, as he still has his leg fur.

Oh that poor kitty--so so so GLAD he's got a loving foster home and here's hoping a new forever home soon.

Wally is maintaining, I still think his weight is very slowly drifting down. He's a grump, especially with Annie (who is quite possibly the sweetest kitty I have ever had so it really makes no sense). But he's very affectionate with me, sleeps by my head, seeks out my lap, etc.

What a lucky guy! That must have been just horrible for him. He looks very happy in his foster home.

Brad is so lucky and seems very happy in his new home.

Edj3, I think Wally is jealous. Felix and Louie didn't fight for a few days and then it started up with claws and teeth. I want poor Felix to have pleasant days in her golden years and not to have to battle Louie. Louie turned 5 in March and seems like he is much more aggressive with her. He is much bigger and stronger. Both are social and want to hang out with us, but we have to keep putting one of them in "time out". All is quiet as Louie is taking a nap with cat dad and Felix is napping on the sofa.

I just love it when I wake up in the morning and my fur babies are so happy to see me and the little purr motors are going. It is a pleasant way to start the day.

Last night I dropped the Sonicare handle on top of the toilet back. It made a huge noise. In only a moment Squeakers came out meowing to see if I was OK. It was really cute. I reassured him and he went back to bed.

Poor little Felix was meowing most of the night. When I got up this morning, I found vomit in her food dish. Poor baby. Now she is sleeping.

I'm so sorry she doesn't feel well.

Squeakers spent the day at the vet for a glucose curve. She said his level was 600 before his shot, went down to 380 and started back up. Increased his insulin by a unit. We definitely need to learn to do the ear prick to test him. It will save a bunch if we can do it.

Petite I hope Miss Felix feels better, poor little thing.

Wren I hear ya on the glucose curve $$$$ Glad you got an adjustment for Squeakers. My LJ seems to be holding up really well at his current levels for about three years now.

Rah, How many units is LJ getting?

Wren I give LJ 5 units on the syringe twice a day. I think those are tenths of a millimeter but not absolutely sure about that. We also use the really expensive people version, Lantis. I am afraid to try and switch now as we have done very well. The other thing I have noticed is that he feels super good the first two weeks on a new bottle of insulin. It takes us so long to work through a bottle I think maybe it loses some efficacy towards the end.

Wren44, Hopefully he will be like Felix and eventually come off insulin.

Rah, It's true that insulin loses some strength over time. I'm going to try the Costco brand next time because it's much much less expensive. If we have to go back to Lantis, we will. My next project is to learn to test his level at home.

    Petite, That's my hope.

I use insulin. In the package insert, with any brand, it says to use the vial in 30 days. It can be kept out of the fridge once opened. One vial for me is long gone before 30 days. At those few units daily for an animal, and the outrageous price of it, I can understand trying to stretch it. Walmart also has cheaper insulin, I can’t use that in my pump, don’t know how much it is. Ask your vet about what you can use.

Good morning, cat ladies. Miss Felix woke me up at 3, then 5 and I put her on the lanai. Of course I worried about her and got up a 6 to check on her. Hope I can take a nap later, but I am not much of a napper.

It’s gator mating season, I’d be worried about a gator breaking in and having her for a snack.
