That was entertaining talk about a water park for birds!
Nancy, I love that photo. What a great shot of so many birds on your birdbath! It's difficult that 2014 was your diagnosis year.
-
I watch the birds all the time out my home-office window - Very calming during a stressful day.
-
GmaFoley, that's lovely!
-
Thanks Cathy.
GM, me too. Is that one an Oriole?
-
Black headed grosbeak, I believe.
-
It is a Grosbeak the other is a house finch. I did my photo shoot yesterday so will put one on here little by little.
Reflections....
-
Beautiful photos, Nancy and GmaFoley!
-
Thank you Cathy. Thanks Peregrinlady. I have only seen Rose breasted Grossbeaks in my area and they are migrating in the sprint.
Nice reflections GM. Hope you have a fun time with your camera.
-
Nancy, the one on the right is a house finch - the one on the left is the Grosbeak.
-
Thanks GM. I feed the birds so I am very well acquainted with the house finch but the grossbeak not so much. We just had severe storms and my cat and I spent sometime in my bathroom as our tornado sirens went off. She was one unhappy camper!!!!!!!!!
-
Oh no - Please stay safe!
Here is a towhee for ya - Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference.
-
this hooded oriole had one of his babies hit our pool today. He walked around the
kreppy krawley hose but couldn't get out because he was so wet. My husband
got him to land with the strainer and he crawled into the iceplant. I think he dried off and too
off, at least I hope so. The father kept calling and calling to him but was scared off
when we went out to help.
-
Thanks GM. Not too familiar with them either but we do have them I believe.
Lisa, sounds like you had quite the bird drama today. Poor little thing. Hope the family got reunited.
-
Well made it to Grenada after multiple Covid tests and a direct flight from Toronto. Not the most attractive look for Traveling but it works.
-
View from our bungalow this week in Grenada
-
Mumito, thanks for posting those photos. It's nice to put a face to a name (username) and to see where you're staying. What a lovely view! I hope you have a lovely time.
-
just now
-
Great photo, Lisa!
-
Mums, hopefully you will stay safe with all of your gear. Love the view.
Lisa, nice close up. One of my favorite butterflies.
My sunflower photo was picked last night on the Chicago weather photos segment. That was a thrill.
-
Nancy, congratulations on your photo being picked, that's great!!
-
Mum, so glad you were able to get away! Beautiful spot!
Congratulations Nancy
-
Thanks Cathy and Lisa.
-
Muma is in Beach Bliss here 😎
-
Mumito, what a great photo! Having you in it and the sunset at the same time is lovely. I'm glad you're in beach bliss!!
-
Mum, enjoy
-
Looks like bliss to me. Enjoy and share photos.
-
Mums, You look so happy. I will live vicariously through you right now on that beach with a gorgeous sunset.
-
Nancy, how are you doing?
-
Cathy, thanks for asking. I just had another brain MRI on Tuesday to check on the tumor to see if it is stable. I have been walking 2 plus miles and some days 3 miles every other day and I really feel good with that. It has replaced my swimming for the time being. The place I swam indoors closed permanently due to the pandemic. I will have to make some decisions soon on where and what form of exercise I will do. I have to do something. I see my neurologist on Monday so unless I get results in our electronic records before then it will be a wait. How are you doing? It always seems strange knowing that your seasons of the year are totally opposite of ours. You will be entering your spring as we enter our fall. Then you will get to see your roses blooming again. Take care.
-
Nancy, it's good to hear your news. Well done for walking so much! I'm sorry the swimming pool closed down and I hope you can find some exercise that you enjoy to replace it. I hope your results on Monday are good. It must be hard waiting for them. Please let us know how they are, when you have a chance. Sending you hugs.
I have been finding things challenging. We are in Stage 4 lockdown, since the Coronavirus numbers in Melbourne are the worst in Australia. We aren't meant to go more than 5 kilometres from home and most shops are closed except for supermarkets, pharmacies and post offices. There are lots of rules to follow and face masks are compulsory, so it feels like a lot of pressure. It has been very cold and I'm looking forward to spring. I had better remember to prune my roses soon. I'm glad I have this forum to help me feel a bit less isolated.
