Happy New Year to All.
-
Sydney and George are adorable!!. Robert is the first orange cat we have had ( my grand kitten) I go visit him when my daughter is on a long stretch of 12 hr shifts. He is so social and loves company. Great pic of Louis in the bathroom window. Here are Cali and Lily doing what we should do on New Years Day. From the bottom of my heart wishing all of you a happy and healthy 2020.

Cali and Lily are adorable.

beautiful kitties, DebAL, Happy New Year!
-
Good morning. My Florida cats are not happy with the 38 degree morning. Louie loves to watch birds on the back porch, but he said he would prefer to stay in the bed. He didn't even want to get out of the bed to eat. Not my chubby Felix. She would eat hers and his.
-
My Florida girl wasn't happy with the cold temperatures either. It was 39 here in The Villages. She camped out in her bedroom (our walk in closet) for most of the day. Her carriers are in there and that's where she likes to sleep. She did come out to enjoy the sunshine on the lanai this afternoon but only for an hour. Then back to bed. What a life. I want to come back as her!
-
I love my cats so much it hurts.
-
*I* wasn’t happy with the temps this morning either!!!!
Snickersmom, DD thinks Rainbows End will be open another year.
-
Those are cute kitties.
Both of my girls have been coming up to our room at night to crash out.

Mr. Squeakers has been gaining some weight in his middle age (who doesn't?) and we had to get him a larger dog harness. We have tried 3 cat harnesses and he has lost all 3, so we switched to the dog kind meant for small dogs. He can get out of it but not as easily.
The kennels at the shelter have a porthole that can be open or closed. When there's enough space each cat gets a double one. Friday night a cat in a cone figured out that she could get the cone stuck in the porthole and back out of it. She did it twice while I was there. Probably the first time was accidental, but she realized the potential right away.

I would love to make another trip to Rainbow's End! It's a long drive from here but well worth it! Of course, I always come back with too much fabric so I just keep adding to my UFOs and stash......
-
PM me if/when you come❤️
-
Wren - smart kitty!!
-
Knew you would all like this as much as I did--on my run this evening here in Manila (I'm in the Philippines for work), I passed a small grey kitty standing by a police officer. I'm sure the police officer thought I was nuts because I was all "oh KITTY!" as I ran past.
-
edj3 - that is awesome! Our last kitten went to a man in Independence. We met him at Butler, MO Sunday, and I thought about seeing if you would be home. You are a long way from home! Enjoy your trip and be safe. If you see any more kitties, send us a picture!
-
Missouri you have completed your Mission!!! WAY TO GO to find homes for all those babies. Are Mama and Papa still hanging around?
-
I agree w/ santabarbarian--way to go on those kitties. Well done!!!
-
Thank you. Billy Joel wrote a song, Summer, Highland Falls, and he sings, it's either sadness or euphoria, and that describes it all purrfectly. Here is a photo of mom (spayed) and dad (I will be getting him too), and the home my husband built for the kittens to be warm. It has an igloo inside. The plastic thing came from his work for batteries (good, the other side says bad). I am very lucky that I found good homes and can have some peace of mind with that. Not sure I could do animal rescue continually, as some folks do, my heart goes out to them and may God bless them!

If you ever need a winter house, keep the igloo off the ground (ants got in there and we had to revise it), and don't haul straw in your car!!!
(mom is on the doghouse, eating snacks, and is petrified of my camera, she took off after I got the photo)

It is nice this morning, but cool. The Florida cats prefer the bed. Cat Lump #1 - Felix. Cat Lump #2 Louie

C -
Definitely will!
-
Such pretty cats, enjoying themselves!
-
I saw the little grey kitty on my run Wednesday but no sign of him today. I ran 33 minutes, and did another 30 of strength. The air quality here isn't the best

-
good for you, edj3! Hope you are having a nice trip. Guess we should be thankful for our clean air here in the USA.
We have a guy here at work that was in Iraq and has come back. My coworker was telling me they were not allowed to touch the kitties there. I would not be able to do that! here kitty kitty!

Hi All -
Been boohooing while watching pet/owner reunion videos...guess I needed a good cry today...
I can't imagine any of my kitties being lost and scared and alone and at the mercy of humans and nature...
I think of my 5 shelter kitties and what they went thru before I got them...I witnessed only Cleo's terrible life with her cat hoarder owner...and Baby Chairman Meow's not-so-terrible life at 6 mos old, living successfully and happily on the streets with no front claws...The brother kitties were rescued at 3 wks old then into foster care...and Baby Ellie was a "stray" in perfect shape when I found her at the shelter...
I love them so...as we all do in this thread...

Well I'm closing in on the first week of my trip here in Manila. Work is going well but man, working the overnight shift is so hard even though it's essentially at the same time as CST. I crave the sun, so here I am up during the day. I'm sure I'll regret this on Monday when I'm working 9P to 6A again but oh well.
My husband's been sending me photos of the boys, I thought this one was worth sharing.

-
Cutely colour coordinated
-
Saw these two tonight as we wrapped up our day here in Manila.

-
Awww...wonder if they knew you were a cat person...

Somehow cats know which people are cat people. LOL I love the cat pictures. Looking at them makes me feel good. When I am having a bad day, I go to this web site to see what picture have been posted.
