Yndorian I'm really glad you are here. I hope you'll keep posting with us. I don't really notice if people are Stage 4 or not. Besides, if you are drawn to posting with us, then that makes me happy.
Hi Candy678! I was wondering where you've been!
Gumdoctor I was feeling a little relieved to know that Dr Angel had a committee deciding what's going on with you. Healing sounds good and it is really good to hear that you are feeling less frightened. Keep healing liver!
BooBoo1 I hear you my friend. Stable would be such a nice word to hear. I have no idea what my next scan is going to show but I'm anxious to get it done and see what's next. Today my support group friends talked about treatment changes and what that's been like for them. It was really helpful.
My poor little granddaughter is in the hospital with fever of 105.8 and they cannot find the cause yet. It's looking viral but they'll know more tomorrow when they've gotten some additional bloodwork. Poor pumpkin has had a high fever for a few days and then was feeling better so they went on a little outing to Target where she barfed in one of the aisles. Then the fever returned with a vengeance. She is miserable, but they've been able to lower it. I think she will get to sleep in her own bed tonight and back to pediatrics tomorrow. I'm sad I can't be more helpful but with ANC at 1.0 this month I'm staying far away.

Jens got this congrats.
Gum doctor that’s very encouraging news you got. Love angel doctor.
Grannax your decorating and newly upholstered chairs are wonderful.

I have been asked by MarianElizabeth to post a note saying that she will not likely be dropping in any time soon, if at all, as she needs some downtime to recover from recent medical procedures. She is finding the task of posting in all the places she'd like to be posting, too taxing. She needs to simplify and slow down for a while. So if any of you wonder where she went, she is doing better with her pain and such, back into chemo, needing time to just coast for a while. She didn't want to slip out without explanation and leave everyone wondering.
Moomala, I hope the wee munchkin gets that fever dealt with. High fevers like that are scary and concerning!
-
thank you Runor! As least she knows she’s cared for. Thank you for letting us know. Worrying is never fun. But glad to see she’s doing better than before. Please let her know. To take care of herself ! Most important thing we can do.
Chilly morning has arrived brrrrrr
-
Thank you for the update runor, and it's really so nice to see a post from you! I hope MarianElizabeth can find some restful time and return when she's ready.
Mel, oh my yes the air is crisp this morning! I am starting to think about making applesauce this weekend. And munching a few fry-cakes while I'm at the cider mill.
-
Moomala, I hope your granddaughter is feeling better. My 27 year old son had the same thing... his fever went up to 104 which is very high for an adult. Doctor said viral and has to run its course. Very scary for this mom to see him so sick. His fiancée took very good care of him. He missed a whole week of work, he’s a teacher so maybe he picked it up from one of his students
-
moomala~That's super scary. My son tend to run high fevers like that. He worked for giant and caught a Terrible viral infection from stack and gathering the carts during his shift. HIs fever went up to 104.5 and he was boiling. I took him to the hospital, he had a rash. And I was thinking omg meningitis. They gave him a shot and said the body had to work it out. He was down a week also. Like Lynnwoods example. Those viral infections just knock you out. No matter how big and healthy they are. He was a strong 21 year old and he looked like a toddler in that bed. His feet hurt so bad, he couldn’t even stand in the shower. I felt horrible for him. Moms alway always worry! Not to mention the grandparents maybe even more because you’re worrying about your child and their children. Being a woman is just plain difficult. Hope to god everything goes back to being just fine real soon!
Waving to Lynnwood~. 👋 hello special lady. 🌹❤️ -
Moomala,
Yup, waiting is hard. But I am not going to stop living and enjoying my new life in FL. Have been doing a bit of decorating, painting (DH does that part), and fixing things in our new place. It’s kind of fun. Grannax was my inspiration! It helps to keep my mind off of what’s next. I don’t want to lose my hair again, but will go with it if needed
I hope you are doing well. I know we are both wanting to get to stable, and I’m praying you get there with me!
-
I'm so glad I know you booboo1. Enjoying a new life in Florida sounds so amazing. I mean we're headed into my second favorite season, autumn in NYS but you know what comes next! Your post is making me sit here thinking about getting in my car and spending some time alone on the road. I'd never do it - way too much fear - but it sounds amazing just stopping whenever I want and wherever I want, sleeping in fancy hotels or sleeping in the woods, hiking through the mountains, swimming in lakes, sitting on beaches... My inner adventurer is having a wonderful afternoon dreaming about this.
-
just popping in to say I love you all and I am so grateful for this community!!!
i feel like I’m still reeling a bit from the shots on Monday. Head in a vice of fog like not connected to my body and slight nausea here and there kinda thing.
I have a “date” tonight with someone that I’ve been romantically involved with in the past. He doesn’t know about my health status. He’s very smart and intuitive. I am a little nervous! Break out the red wine!!!
-
I love my red wine Philly....I have a glass pretty frequently. I used to drink a glass with dinner every night but the oncologist told me to please cut that at least in half so I have grudgingly done so. This weekend however I have already got a lovely bottle of J Lhor Cabernet Saugivnon at the ready and I will be having a glass on my porch in the autumn sunshine right after I teach four students this afternoon. I will lift the glass in honor of your date and to help steady your nerves across the miles. I have been married 38 years and while I love my husband dearly I do miss "romance" sometimes. He's not terribly romantic to begin with but over the years things have gotten far less so. He did write me a song last year and he did propose to me after five years of marriage counseling, after which we did have a re-commitment ceremony.
Ok went off topic there for a minute. I'm still in la la land this afternoon dreaming about taking a trip, finding romance...Anyway have a lovely evening Philly!
-
So exciting, Philly!! I hope you have a great time on your date. I also hope your head clears. I detest feeling foggy, no fun at all. I had CT dye and MRI contrast last Wednesday and it's taken until today for me to feel "normal" again. Just in time for my Lupron injection this afternoon. Yuck!
Waving back at ya Mel. I just starting watching Orange is the new black a few months ago. Have you finished season 7 yet? It's so good, can't believe I waited so long to watch it.
I hope everyone is having as good a day as possible.
Hugs to all
-
Hi all.
Moomala- Sorry to hear about your granddaughters' illness. Hope she gets well soon. And good you are keeping yourself from the germs.
Booboo- Have fun fixing up your new place. Maybe post some pics when done.
Philly- Have fun with date night.
Another hot day today and hot weekend weather forecasted here. Forecast says highs around 90 with lots of humidity. Ready for fall. Tomorrow is our town's fall festival. And tomorrow night is a friends' hot dog roast. But I will not be attending either activity. Sigh. Just too hot and miserable. And I would just feel sick being out in the heat, and not worth it. So a weekend staying inside. Sigh again.
So to all with weekend plans, have fun. And for those with no plans like me, we can talk here.
-
Moomala,
I think it might be time for you and hubby to have a weekend away. There are so many places right in our own backyard, and I am a firm believer in supporting local anything! I do relate to the old marriage blues. I get flowers from time to time, but that's about as creative as my poor man can do. I've found that telling hubby what I want is much faster and easier than making him guess. Or I just make sure he doesn't have any plans, and then schedule something myself. I have always been an adventurer....love to explore new places. You deserve to have some of those dreams come true!
-
Philly,
Have fun girl. I am SO glad to hear that you are still living a good life, and dating can be so exciting. I'll be waiting to hear how things go. Me and Moomala will live our romantic fantasies through you! Ha ha.
-
Hi Candy,
I'll post some pics when it's done. A lady came today and picked up a bunch of living room side tables, a bench, and some chairs. She is going to paint them white for me (with a gray top). Cheaper to paint than to buy new ones....and so much of my stuff is dark. I'm trying for coastal chic, but we'll see how it turns out!
Waving hi to my girl Mel. Hope you have a great weekend with your DH!
-
micmel. Has something changed on the topic list? The last few days I've had to click on your name to find this thread. It's usually listed on page one. What happened? Con

Grannax~Add it to your favorites. The mods changed categories for us since we had multi stage posters. I have no idea why you can’t find us.
I’m glad you care enough to look for us though... seems we lost Divine. Hmmmm that’s sad.
-
Talking about love, family, life... my mother (who has vascular dementia) has remembered the times I played guitar and sang at Church on Sundays... (more than 20 years ago) so I have to dust the guitar and try to remember those songs to sing with her It's cute and sad ... But I appreciate that new hobby since we were running out of card games every day ...❤❤❤
-
Yndorian~ I can barely play the radio no less an instrument! You go girl. What a warm thought of you and your mother together listening while you play for her ! Good morning ladies My great niece was just released from state prison a week ago. I saw her yesterday it had been 13 years since I’ve see her . Drugs saw to it she got a 3 year sentence. Model prisoners get out early. It’s so sad she was so jumpy and fidgety. It was so sad to see a wasted amount of time because of drugs. Drugs are as evil as cancer ladies. Addictions are brutal! It’s so sad. Such a beautiful child. Drugs made her hard. Bad choices Bad company bad results. Hope to god this time she can do it. It’s a hard thing.
Have a beautiful day lovelies
-
our little cute buddy is back. Chelles precious kitty. It’s too much cuteness lol
-
Mel,
You are SO right about drugs. Even I got dependent on the opioids I was prescribed, and it was hell getting off of them. But I am so glad I did. If I have pain now, I take Aleve or Ibuprofen. I am actually glad I can feel pain now....it helps me to know what’s happening with my body
But what you are describing is so devastating to a family. I have a very good friend whose son is addicted to Heroin. He said he’s tried everything to help him....but he just can’t kick it. My heart goes out to you and anyone else who has to deal with this issue. I will pray that your niece can stay clean.
-
Mel, I' m very sorry about your niece's dependency problem. I am always touched by addicts, they are people with extreme sensitivity. Sometimes they just can't handle the hardness of life ... My father is alcoholic, and I know he just can't handle it ...
I sincerely wish that your niece can do it this time ❤
Pd: We must do something to prevent that kitten from growing! (oh no, that sounds so selfish) 😊
-
runor and Mel Could one of us start a thread for Mariannelizabeth? That way she would only need to post one one thread instead of several. Let me know what you think.
I will put in favorites but I still don’t understand why it doesn’t show up in topics. Oh, I can find it all right, no problem. This time I clicked on Tanya. I know where my friends hang out. Lol
-
Grannax yes I'm here. It would be great if a thread could be started for Marianelizabeth.
Did anyone volunteer to go to Good Morning America from our group?
Tanya

I'm so sorry for those of us who deal with addicted family members. Espcecially opiod addiction. I have firsthand experience with this and I cn tell you it has been a life of hell for my entire family. Addiction has tentacles that reach out into the family in all sorts of of awful ways. I am a regular at Alanon meetings. I swear by the help I got there. She is in recovery now but she is an extremely sensitive person with very little personal power or resources and recovery is going to be a very difficult road for her. Today she is leaning on me heavily. Very heavily. It is draining and sad. And fear of losing that person to an overdose is lurking at all times. You'd never know. She is a sharp, well-dressed career oriented individual who excels at her career and falls apart at home. BooBoo1, the police told me once to please listen to their experience to understand how hard opioids get hold of an individual. They gently talked me through a couple of their cases that were strikingly like my family's. It really did help. But the fear and grief/loss about it makes you want to scream all the time. I feel very badly for your friend and the son.
My father was alcoholic too yndorian. It was so hard growing up in that house. But I do see him as a sensitive person who found himself under a great heavy load of pressure he didn't want. He was too responsible to walk away. So he drank. -
Mel, hoping your niece is able to find the support, treatment, and willpower she will need to conquer that terrible beast.
Like Moomala and Yndorian, I had an alcoholic father. I also lost my brother to alcoholism. It's just such a shame the way addiction tears families apart.
I love that little kitten. So precious!
-
Hi Ladies~I have a whole
New appreciation for addictions period! What an awful thing to look across the table at someone who just struggles daily. Reminds me of us. Just differently. ! -
This is the lay out of my new normal! (In other words ptsd
-
Grannax~ maybe we should ask Marianneelizabeth if she would be comfortable about that. I don’t want to invade her privacy, if that is what she needs for herself. Runor, you could ask her. Grannax, anyone could ask her then we can make That happen For sure
