Lisa, what a pretty photo. I love the different colours in the rose - the pink on the tips of petals.
-
Lisa, the smaller flowers in background give the image a delicate feel.

Cinco de Mayo
-
Lisa, love the roses. Beautiful pic of the dancers.
Some wildflowers from yesterday.
-
Nancy, the wildflowers are beautiful, especially the purple one!
-
love seeing the wild flowers. Any idea what they are?
-
Thank you ladies. The blue ones are Virginia Bluebells (top two) and I think (not sure ) the bottom ones are called Spring Beauties.
-
what the heck was it?
-
Thanks Joanne. YIKES. That is one big garter snake. One year our school had an assembly and they had this huge yellow snake. Many of the kids were brave and touched the snake. I can't remember what kind it was. Maybe a Boa. I will not intentionally be touching any snake. I have never seen one other than on the ground so I would be freaked seeing one in the bushes. I know there are many snake lovers out there but I am NOT one of them!!!
-
Jo...I too found a snake in my yard yesterday. A King Snake...killer of rattle snakes and rodents, but glad it was out in open and I did not find it while cleaning up under shrubs.
-
West of the Cascade Mts where I live in Seattle, almost no snakes and all harmless. East of the Cascades, lots of rattle snakes. In Houston they were fond of saying there were only 5 poisonous snakes in the US and all were native to Houston.
-
YIKES. That is one long snake Magic.
Here is another blue/purple flower from my romp in the woods.
-
Nancy, that is beautiful!! I hope you had a nice romp.
-
Band...Love the idea of having a nice 'romp' but then stopping to take a photo and then sharing with us. I'm more of a mosey person and took this while moseying in my neighborhood.
-
monarch is stopping by too. But I have not photographed it yet
-
Saw these at the grocery store today
-
A Gravenstein apple blossom from my sister's orchard, near Parkdale, Oregon
-
hiking lady..if I had seen just the flower would not have know it was an apple blossom. Beautiful.
-
Beautiful flowers, everyone!

HAPPY Mothers' Day
-
That's a pretty flower, Lisa.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.
-
Here is the outside of the photo card I made for my Mom. I hope you Mothers enjoy it as well. I have been battling sickness
ever since getting to my Mom's on Thursday night. Sigh. Enjoying all the posts and flowers.
-
Bandw...that is a lovely flower. Sorry that you are not well.
-
Nancy, that is a pretty pink flower Mother's Day card. I pray you feel better soon and enjoy your visit with your Mom.
-
Thank you ladies. My Mom enjoyed her special card and her special day with my sister and me. I ended up going to urgent care today as I was pretty certain I had a sinus infection. I am on meds now and I do hope this knocks this out as I am really wanting to feel back to normal soon.
The forest preserve that I participate in their photo contests has an Instagram site and one of their naturalists posted this pic of a Northern Water snake I think it was. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO big and long but it was in the water so you couldn't really see just how big but I wish I could somehow repost it. I hope I never encounter anything like that on my hikes to get photos!!! I get freaked out over tiny little snakes. LOL

My Mothers' Day card for my 99 year old mother.
-
SoCalLisa How absolutely lovely! I love all your photos. The card is so special and amazing.
-
SoCal...a remarkable and memorable card.
-
Nancy, I pray you get over your sinus infection very quickly and you feel a lot better soon.
Lisa, what a lovely and special Mother's Day card! It's also very clever.
My twin sister only has days to live and we are going to go and visit her soon. Her liver is failing (from metastatic breast cancer). She is at home and her husband and a palliative care team are looking after her. It's very sad. This has been progressing faster than we expected.
-
Aussie, so sorry to hear about your twin sister.
