Lisa, what a beauty!!!!! Great shot!!
-
SoCal...Love love love the photo
oops I'm a bit behind the conversation - the peanut and is it a blue jay?
-
Great shot, Lisa! Very pretty.
-
I believe it is a Scrub Jay.
-
it is a scrub Jay that haunts my son's yard.
-
Aussie. I missed the beach and waterfalls. Love them.
-
Heavenly bamboo in our yard.
-
SoCal...Is spring the only time the bamboo has some pink leaves? So beautiful.
-
Thanks, Lisa. Very pretty pink leaves!
-
Heavenly Bamboo has red leaves as it grows and then some of them just stay red

Here are a couple of shots before the snow starts tomorrow. I waited too late to get some shots of my own daffodils but I was surprised to see this at this forest preserve I frequent often. It was so windy I had to hold the flower with one hand. This is the Lensbaby lens which I haven't really used too much. It is for selective focus.
Lisa, I made my clarinet reeds for many years and I would order bamboo from France. I am guessing your bamboo is very different. Very pretty.
-
Nancy, I've never seen a white daffodil before. Interesting.
-
Bandwoman...Intrigued by the Lensbaby concept so I just spent a good amount of time looking at utube videos and the website. A bit daunting with all the info and need to figure out which one I would use most. I like the effects on your photos of the white daffodils. Please keep practicing so I can see more of your work..

Magic, if you google AnneBelmont.com and look at her blog you will get a wealth of info. She is an email friend of mine and what I would consider the premier photographer for the Chicago Botanic Garden. I just a few months ago purchased her ebook on the use of Lensbabys. I am in an ongoing photography contest and I needed to get in a couple of extra shots before the end of this month as snow was predicted which we got yesterday. I was out on a very windy day which is the WORST for this type of lens but it was my last chance to get these daffodils. You have to take the pics in this counties forest preserves and these daffodils were a new addition. I use the Lensbaby Velvet 56. I fell in love with Anne's flower photography and couldn't figure out how she was getting the effect she did and then she started sharing all about the Lensbabys. It is a completely manual lens so that takes some getting used to. It does not record your F stop or data as it does not record the metadata as most lenses do. I have done quite a bit of macro photography with a dedicated macro lens but this takes the whole process to another level. You should give it a try. The nice part is the Velvet 56 lens is very small and light which is a BIG plus for me compared to my macro lens.
Cathy, do you have daffodils in Australia? I think the more common color is yellow and yellow with orange centers. That is what I had earlier in my yard and never got a pic of my own.
-
Nancy, yes we do have daffodils in Australia.

-
What a beautiful rose! Wonder if it has fragrance. Great shot, Lisa.
-
Pretty!

Bandwoman...I hope this gives you a good laugh. I just searched Annebelmont.com and this came up about Anne Belmont "I write erotic fiction. I'm female, 45 years old, and I reside in Indianapolis, Indiana, with my wife, four cats and a dog" OOPS! Think this is NOT the one you referenced.
When I typed in Anne Belmont the photographer I found the right one https://www.annebelmontphotography.com/blog/2016/1... Her photos are exquisite.

Night Blooming Cereus - Photo taken mid morning
-
SoCal.. the rose photo looks like a candy confection on a cake.
-
Magic Light, Great capture. They bloom so infrequently and the bloom is so brief, you're lucky to have caught it. I think ours bloomed only once or twice over a long period of time.
-
magiclight, that flower and photo are exquisite!
-
Lisa, pretty rose. Love that color.
Magic, I wondered if the photographer knows she shares the same name with this person. LOL I had no idea. I have never had anything but the photographer come up when I type in her name.
I have never seen or heard of that flower but your capture is so beautiful the way the light and shadows on the petals adds even more beauty.

Today

Wouldn't the peach rose make a great topping for a fancy cake?
-
Wren, definitely yes and I want a large slice.
-
sounds yummy but the rose was mocha colored. That flavor icing might taste good too.
-
Mocha would be just fine with me.
-
I don't usually take photos of cut flowers, but there are exceptions..
