Vampriella - LOL!!! Lately my car has the closest resemblance to the pic! I think I'd be closer to....
-
Yes it's here………….
WORKOUT WEDNESDAY – No gap? No problem!
Wednesday couldn't have come any sooner here in Bedrock…….Vegas had most of us by the throat over the weekend, so now it's time to leave the buffet and pay the bill.
This week I'm concentrating on a universally annoying hot spot that drives many a Cave Chick to distraction….THIGHS. Sometimes referred to as 'thunder & lightning', 'wide load' or the ever popular 'big Berthas'…..ain't some folks mean? Thigh gaps have become popular....and for good reason, less fat = better health.
After years of cardio and lifting I'm still not fully satisfied and long to complete the look of my hard earned thigh gap. I think I'm still too bulgey at the top of each thigh…..I call them my cheeseburgers
)))))
Here's a blatantly ripped off Google visual of the Cheeseburger Zone:
Sorry about the bad text and drawing on the pic….momma didn't raise no tech!
))))
Now, I'm not looking for a thigh gap so wide I could pass a 57' Chevy through, but I do want to catch up to the rest of my legs…a lousy ¾-1" less cheeseburger would colour me happy. So what's a girl to do to attain a fit n' sassy thigh gap?
Eat right and move….the Cheeseburger zone is a high fat collection area by nature of being female. Burning fat in these areas is notoriously hard, but burning fat is necessary to reduce the bulge. I've added both vids into my life 2-3 times per week along with my usual workout. Crossing fingers I get my new parking space soon
)))))
Want to fast track your way to a better gap? Do these>>>>>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOlcqXdmk9U
(Another great gal….6 minutes but covers all the bases!)
Does spot training on a specific body part work? No. So why the HELL am I posting spot work centered training vids?
Reason: A healthy eating regime & a consistent exercise program that includes weight bearing movement will burn fat. Once the fat has diminished you'll clearly see the reward of all your efforts via sculpted and toned body parts, especially the hot spots! Like everything good though, they show up last….yup, best for last.
So grab your mats, runners, weights, bike or whatever and get moving!! Go carve yourself a gap to be proud of and throw those cheeseburgers where they belong.
*grumbling* Thunder & lightning....geeze.
-
I have arrived in Philadelphia. I've been running around to Staples for display boards and copies, and Trader Joe's for organic cucumbers and my first yogurt since mid-July; yum. Still no room ready, so now I'm hanging out in the lobby in profoundly uncomfy seating, trying not to fall asleep after a full day of work followed by a slow, overnight cross-continent flight.
-
Ksuze…….That's one heck of an olive! Where is the martini to match
))))) Have fun in Philly, don't work too hard, steer clear of the cheese steak sammies, and get some rest....thinking you might be sawing off logs as I type, at least I hope you are! Flying kills me....even a 20 minute flight makes me feel like Rip Van Winkle
ETA: Olive you! nuk,nuk nuk.
) Oh boy....I need professional help!
)
-
I just pre-medicated with a bacon cheeseburger so I won't be too tempted at the opening reception. I like a cheesesteak as well as anyone, but fortunately I got my fix when I was here in June.
I had some organizational responsibilities--no nap yet. I have 3 presentations and 20 papers to grade, so this is an "I'll sleep when I'm dead" conference. Almost at 5 miles for the day, thanks to PHL and malfunctioning SEPTA ticket kiosks at opposite ends of the platform, as well as my Trader Joe's walk and two Staples walks.
My room has a fridge! Tomorrow I'll pick up a couple of salads and some cheese.
ETA: Lettuce not start with this.
-
KSuze - The lifestyle almost dictates a fridge in the room. When I was in TO I had them add a microwave too..lifesaver. I was fully stocked...a lot of boiled egg pouches saved me the hotel exorbitant breakfast fees..$21 a pop!! $21 for a buffet style breakfast that was just so much cantaloupe and lousy omelettes. Nice walking numbers you’re getting done....just don’t fall asleep in Staples. If you really must, they have a pretty good selection of comfy office chairs
))) All the best with the presentations!
PS.......I remember my Mum writing out grocery lists back in the day. She always spoke the items out loud as she wrote...and ended every list with “lettuce turnip and pea” immediately followed by guffaws. The day I innocently (and loudly) reminded her about her last 3 list items (in the middle of the produce section) she just about had a coronary. She never added lettuce turnip and pea to another grocery list
))))
-
Sooo I watched the videos - does that count for workout Wednesday? lol I am thinking I will attempt to do my step with weights on Saturday and see how it goes. I got a walk in yesterday, figured that was pretty good considering how crappy I felt, was asleep by 7:30pm!
Have a great day cave chicks.

TUTORIAL THURSDAY – Finding Nemo….safely!
Dedicated to our peach of a gal Ksuze….in honour of her undying love of fish
))))))))
**
FISH. We all know it's good for us…..and that a healthy diet should include it, but in recent years buying healthy fish has become yet another stumbling block while sashaying through the fish department or freezer section of our grocery stores. We read about and see the warnings regarding mercury levels, farmed fish, overfishing, area specific hot spots, ad infinitum.
Let's do a quick and dirty breakdown shall we?
- Wild Caught Fish – "are caught by fishermen in their natural habitats, rivers, lakes & oceans". Wild caught fish eat organisms found in their existing environment, which is more diverse than what farmed fish get to eat on a regular basis…all antibiotic free."
*
- Farmed fish – "raising fish commercially in tanks or enclosures, usually for food". Farmed fish makes up about 90% of the fish consumed within the US & Canada. Farmed fish can be fed a low-quality fish meal that's a mixture of corn, grains, fish oil and ground up, wild-caught fish. Antibiotics may also be thrown in the mix, due to the questionable water quality in the raising tanks.
Note that not all farmed fish are created equal, and that standards are changing for the better, especially in the US. There are many fish farmers practicing ethical methods and provide great product. You must be constantly vigilant in checking our your fish sources. Ask questions at the fish counter….where, what & when is vital info.
Nutritional breakdown
The nutritional value of wild caught is thought to be higher than farmed because of the diverse diet and lack of 'dirty water'. Fact is Farmed salmon, in many cases, may actually be as nutritious as its wild counterparts and, in many cases, can be richer than wild in terms of omega-3s and omega-6s essential fatty acids. Wild fish, on the other hand, are full of trace minerals found in the oceans. In general, smaller types of fish may pack the most nutritional bang for their buck as opposed to larger fish. Think sardines, anchovies, herring and shellfish.
IMHO your biggest worry should not be farmed or wild caught. Mercury content is the deciding factor in what Nemo I choose.
Mercury Content - the sticking point
Rule of thumb, the larger the fish (long life span) and the warmer the waters Nemo swims in = larger mercury content. Cold water small to medium sized fish are the safest bets. Larger fish like swordfish, for example, contain higher mercury levels. Farmed fish may have lower instances of mercury than wild-caught fish, but farmed fish that are raised in the ocean generally have the same amount of mercury as wild caught.
Mercury Hot Spots
Certain regions are notorious for contaminated fish (along with over fishing & unsafe raising practices in farming).In June of this year the US shut down all fish imports from China for questionable levels of heavy metals that are harmful and carcinogenic, along unsafe food handling practices. China is also notorious for overfishing the oceans. This is NOT a racist slam, simply fact. Check your product label carefully for country of origin! If Asian or warm climate regions are listed think twice if you're eating fish on a regular basis.
Handy Dandy (simple) Fish Choice Chart:
*Fish in Trouble! These fish are perilously low in numbers or are caught using environmentally destructive methods.
** Farmed salmon may contain PCB's, chemicals with serious long-term health effects.
Tips:
- Buy from a trusted source, preferably local
- Read labels carefully for country of origin
- Stick to cold water small to medium fish
- Be vigilant by continually checking up on the status of our waters/fish (links below)
Want to check out your fish selection? These two sites are excellent resources, both with search capability and lots o' detail. Both links have been added to the original post (at the end of the guides and before recipe sources) for future reference:
So there you have it. I have further info if you want it….just PM or post and I'll be happy to share.
Enjoy your day Peeps, hope it goes swimmingly
))))) I'm on a pun kick lately….yeah yeah I know, lowest form of humour. Sue me.
-
Vamp - At least your eyes got a workout:))) Adding weight = YES!! Way to go! Take it easy girly girl, and rest that crappy feeling away.
ETA: whew, someone watched the vids
)
-
Um.... thank you for the fish info? Here's a non-edible humuhumu nukunuku apua'a.
-
Thanks, Egads, for the exercises. I am absolutely going to add those arm exercises to my weekly routine - anything to keep my DGD from making fun of my jiggly upper arms!! I have no hope of getting a significant thigh gap (you could probably get a sheet of paper to pass through the gap but that's about all) but I can report that a little weight loss plus regular gym time has firmed up my "cheeseburgers" somewhat! (BTW, I followed your magnesium suggestion & am sleeping much better now. I swear, I get more helpful information on BCO than I get from my MO!)
And thanks for the Fish Primer, too. I was happy to see that most of my favorites are on the unlimited list!
Gorgeous fish, Ksuze, & way too pretty to eat! (And you have impressive discipline if you can turn down genuine Philly cheesesteaks!)
Hope you feel better, Vamp!
-
Hello Cave Folk.
I am feeling better thank you.
Egads thank you for posting about the fish. What are the red asterisks for? I was looking at canned fish today and once said product of USA, so is that a safe kind to purchase?
That is a beautiful fish ksuze, my kids would love that in their fish bowls.
ETA - remind me again how to get rid of the foot pain that is climbing up my calf? I am doing squats and lunges, stretching, seems to be getting worse. I thought the tumeric was helping I was wrong. I take magnesium, tumeric, probiotics, iron, D3 and iodine.
-
JKL, I will post a photo in the plant-based thread perhaps. DH's latest creation is not Paleo nor vegan, but so delightful! Nice to be missed.
Hi vampeyes! Thanks for the greetings everyone!
Egads, good work on the fish primer, but this is the only fish in my life.
-
Morning Cave Folks!
Ksuze - I can imagine the fish you posted would make for some pretty funky plating
)) Joking of course! Ok so ten bucks goes to the first chick that can say it's name three times fast
)))))))))
JKL - Happy you found the info helpful, oh yes the mag is GREAT for sounder slumber. I'll be posting collagen results soon...so good!! I bet your cheeseburgers are just fine! Ya' know I thought I couldn't have exercised my inner thighs to a smaller size until I started using the Hip Adduction machine at the gym. If your gym has one of these jump on and give it a try...works great! Warning though, my cavepup's high school had one of these machines and the kids named it 'the vagina buster'....the first time you use it you get a wonky pulling feeling 'down there'. Goes away fast enough. Great machine....just start low so you don't get 'busted'
))))
Vampriella - I added the asterisk info at the bottom of the chart....I tried this morning but couldn't for the life of me to get the pic to post complete. US tuna - take another peek at your label....does it say 'Imported for Blah Blah Blah Company' If so it might be an Asian import only packaged by a US company. You need to find the country of origin eg: Product of China, packaged by Blah Blah, Albany NY.....Canadian labels are bad for this...looks Canadian but it's only processed and packaged here. The type of tuna is important...check the chart...Skipjack is OUT. How often are you eating canned tuna and salmon?
Pixi(dust) Awwwww, come on! We want to see DH's latest creation!!!....paleo or not! Post away, we won't mind!
) Cute fishy....does he have a name? What kind of fish is that? God lord, he's staring at me.
))))
Shout out to our newest cave chick Kickin…..I'm hoping your surgery on Tuesday was smooth and that recovery is painless! TwoH...still working on your southern cuisine....paleo style! Inna (godda Davida)….gentle hugs sweetie, hope the rads are still going well!
Ok chickies,I'm off to get Foodie Friday rolling...having a lot of fun with it....so much fun that I'm doubting my sanity.

FOODIE FRIDAY – Egads Test Kitchen....special edition.....First Annual Bagel Beauty Pagent!!!
Peeps, we've got a full house here at the First Annual Bagel Beauty Pageant, and the stakes are high. Who will wear the crown of best all round bagel? Who will go home feeling crummy? (oy)
Look! Here comes our first contestant swaying down the red carpet now…………
This gorgeous babydoll is Keto Kate, and she hails from a big bag of almond flour with golden flax. She stands 4" high & wide, and is wearing a stunning Chanel gown of 'everything spice'. Keto Kate is a hot little number who's talent portion will include humming 'Flight of the Bumblebee' while knitting an ugly Christmas sweater. She's fantastic out of the oven, but prefers to tan in a toaster from day 2 onwards. This lady is a powerhouse of energy at 190 cals, but at 3 net carbs she's guaranteed to stay in the running! https://www.gnom-gnom.com/gluten-free-paleo-keto-bagels/
Contestant 2 is up next….Paleo Petunia is a sweetheart of a gal whos origins are rooted in Coconut Flour. She's a bee-u-ti-full honey blonde....and from the peeved looks Keto Kate is giving her for wearing the same spice gown, there may be a brawl. Let's hope not, Paleo Petunia is much drier by nature and I imagine the crumbs and spice would fly!! Paleo Petunia cannot live without a toast tan due to her bipolar dry yet oily interior. For her talent portion she'll be used as a doorstop and then jumping right into the garbage bin. What a gal! https://lowcarbyum.com/garlic-coconut-flour-bagels...
Last but not least, we have Contestant 3 Carby Barbie rocking the red carpet, and what a stunner she is! This gorgeous baby is a dead ringer for a classic wheat based bakery bought bagel! Unfortunately she's light in the brains department, so she is dense as a classic bagel. If you prefer your gals light and airy you should turn your peepers to contestant # 1. As with a lot of high maintenance chicks, Carby Barbie is boiled/baked just the way a classic bagel should be. Carby Barbie clocks in at 18 carbs, and her talent portion will be giving a lecture on the right to be chewy. https://www.simplehealthykitchen.com/paleo-everything-bagels-grain-free-gluten-free/
The ballots are in….these gorgeous gals are sweating sesame seeds...... and the winnerfor best all round bagel is……….
1ST Place - CARBY BARBIE!
2nd Runner Up – best lighter/low carb sweetheart - KETO KATE!
3RD (and not worth the effort) Place - PALEO PETUNIA (awww don't cry Petunia….you weren't meant for human consumption)
-
Egads, you should write a blog, I swear! Or a book, i’d buy it in a heartbeat. Applause, applause! Love this pageant! Now, if someone just made a Carby Barbie for me...
-
Great pageant, Egads!
The fish's name is Phishy. He is a zebra danio and I love the little guy. He's getting old and I'll miss him terribly. He gets so excited to hear my voice
Here is a lovely eggplant with a light spelt breading, homemade tomato sauce perfectly spiced with a very light sprinkling of parmesan Served atop spaghetti squash. It is delicious! An extra slice was thrown on so presentation doesn't get full points.
-
OMG, Egads, you have a calling. Your humor, writing, graphics, test kitchen, knowledge and willingness to help us amazes me!!
-
Eggplant looks so yummy.
-
Morning Cave Chicks!
Saturday at last....and a chilly one it is! The houses and cars on my street are all covered in a fine layer of frost and the leaves are escaping from branches at breakneck speed. We've already had a skim of snow that didn't hold a few days back. Snow tires went on last week. Comfort food is hitting our table more often than not. Starting to think about a Christmas menu. *sigh* time to face reality, summer is not coming back. If it wasn't for bad driving conditions, freezing temps for months on end, and shovelling snow, I'd love winter!
)))) Retirement destination.....anywhere on the equator!
Inna (godda davida, Pixi(dust), Kathindc….thank y'all so much for your kind words. It's a relief that the nutbar thoughts rolling around in my grey matter might actually give someone a chuckle, or be helpful in a small way. Hugs ladies...you're too sweet!!
Inna (godda davida) - I'd make you a dozen carby barbies….unfortunately they'd probably arrive less than appetizing, maybe even green
))) The recipe is actually very easy....and yup, they freeze well.
Pixi(dust) - Love Pishy's name...that's awesome! Amazing how pets reach in and grab your heart....may he live long and prosper!!! Your DH's dish looks REALLY yummy. Also easy enough to hack over to Paleo as the only non-compliant item you listed was the spelt breading. I'm going to give it a shot this week...I adore eggplant!! Kudos to DH....and the plating is pretty!!
Kathindc - I'm tellin' ya, that book dedication will have your name in it, thank you again....gotta' love ya!!!
)))
Vampriella - I'm sorry, I forgot to include a reply to your leg cramp issues earlier (bagel brain here). Ok, so continue with the squats and lunges. It takes time to build muscle mass, and along the way you'll get DOMS (workout soreness) and a few extra leg spasms (thanks tamox) in the beginning, this is normal. If you're doing s & q's at least 3 times per week then you should see a difference within 4-6 weeks. If you can, do 1-2 sets of s&q's on your off days (10 mins tops). This will build muscle mass even faster, and you should see an end (or HUGE reduction) in the leg issues. Example: I did a yoga class once and woke up that night with one of the worst calf pulls EVER. Between taking tamoxifen and using the muscle in a different way, my leg freaked out. Just keep going...it will get better!
JKL, JunieBee…..hope you ladies are feeling better!! Rest up!
-
Thanks Egads - I keep trying, but it sure takes a lot out of me. Just over a week and I will see the doctor again.
Today the men and I created 3 different pizza crusts. Pizza is something my husband would eat everyday, so finding a crust we can all enjoy is the project at hand.
The first is a chicken crust, the second made with cheese and almond flour and the third is dairy free. My family's vote is:
DH - chicken, cheese, dairy free
DS1 - dairy free, cheese, chicken
DS2 - cheese, chicken, dairy free
Me - cheese, dairy free, chicken
Guess I keep looking for that once recipe or keep making 3 pizzas. Lol
-
Sunday Funday Chicks!
Vampriella, those pizzas look stunning!! *drool* Vamp’s test kitchen was a resounding success! Send any leftovers my way pls
)))) one question, you said the first crust was a ‘chicken crust’...?? Never heard of a chicken crust...recipe? Love to try it! I could never settle with pizza crust and like you the search goes on. Best I’ve made yet was a dairy free cauliflower crust that wasn’t goopy or wet....pretty easy too.
S&q...you could do the chair type if you’re wiped out....or you could just rest
)), listening to you bod is always smart.
Everyone: Random Cave trivia question (no googling allowed)..what was Wilma Flinstones mother’s full name?
Hope everyone's day is splendiferous!!!

Good afternoon Ladies!
I am feeling a bit better. My ANC actually rose by last Tuesday to 1.09. Finally! Been having significant fatigue and have been being a bit of a lump. I have been basically going to doctors appts, treatment and napping. I did manage to volunteer on Thursday.
It has been very gray and rainy here for the last few days. I woke up to a bit of sunshine this morning, but it disappeared about 15 mins. later. Now very gray/overcast again. It's gonna be a long winter I think.
Yesterday I tried for the third time in the last several years to make a pot roast. I know, most of you probably think its a no brainer to make a pot roast. However, I have tried 2 ways in a slow cooker and yesterday I followed the recipe on "Wiki-how" and did it in my oven. It came out DRY! Despite using beef stock & red wine. I'm done! I think I'll just start making smoothies 3 times a day and make life easier by not cooking at all. Just kidding.
Ksuse - Are you back from the conference? Did it all go well? That is one beautiful fishy!
Egads - You really do have a gift with words. You shouldn't downplay your talent. Also, thanks for the fish info. About the only fish I eat on occasion is Salmon. It is farm raised and I buy it at Costco. The package states that NO antibiotics are used in the raising of these fish, but no other info as to origin.
That thigh machine looks cool, but with a right side hip replacement that dislocated 7 times a couple years ago and an 18 year old hip reconstruction on the left side I wouldn't want to try it.
Pi-Xi - That eggplant & spaghetti squash dish looks delish.
Vampeyes - Your pizzas look delish too!
Inna - I hope your rads are still going smoothly.
Ok, I better get off my backside and get dressed so I can take Kirbster for a walk. Later!
-
Here is the link for the chicken crust pizza. Yesterday the boys had friends over and one is apparently picky, they both tired a bite of each of the pizza's - the picky one said they all tasted the same, but they were good and the other friend liked them, but not the mushrooms. I found the dairy free needed maybe some Italian seasoning added for flavour, but for me it really was the texture I didn't care for.
https://www.ketoconnect.net/no-carb-pizza/Yesterday I made these cookies and boy are they delicious! I think next time less swerve as they were a bit too sweet for me. I also used almond butter instead of peanut butter.
https://www.gnom-gnom.com/keto-flourless-peanut-bu...
Made this salmon for dinner, forgot to take a picture, but pretty much looked like the one on the website. Now I changed out the walnuts for peacans. It was a hit with my family and my mil! I didn't have chipotle so left it out and I only have regular paprika so I used that and added in a tsp of liquid smoke.
https://thehealthyfoodie.com/maple-walnut-crusted-...
Junie - so glad you are starting to feel better! I don't cook roasts much, I like to slow cook them and my husband hates that they shred from the slow cooker and I can't stand dry meat so I just don't bother with them.
Egads - Thanks you for all that you do with this tread, your posts are entertaining and informative! I will be trying yoga today. I switched the tamoxifen to night and it really didn't change anything. lol What's another 9.5 years of joint pain? Maybe I will have the best 50s of my life after saying goodbye to the darn drug! Today I will also start tracking what I am eating to see where I am about for carbs. So far so good with staying to a Keto/Primal/Paleo lifestyle, but I think I am eating too many carbs still. (All those yummy baked goods!)
JKL - hope you are finally starting to feel like yourself after that nasty cold you had!
Inna - Cyber Hugs being sent your way, hope rads is going ok for you.
Well cave chicks have a great day, I am off to get the kiddos ready for school.
-
Morning Peepers!!!
Yes, it's………..
No Vegas for me baby! Not after last week's debacle! Just for fun over the weekend I threw on a pair of high heels to serve din-din to my Cavedude. I completed my ensemble with a pair of baggy sweat pants and a hoodie (was into chores all day). He looked me up and down and yelled "COFFEE!!! I WANT MY COFFEE!!" Would have loved to have been a fly on my neighbor's wall….the window was open at the time and I'm sure they heard it.I told my Cavedude I was going to clean up the garden on Sunday, sporting a makeup induced black eye. That oughta' get tongues wagging!
))))))
JunieBee - WOOT!! So good to read that your results have finally swung your way!!! No wonder you've 'lumped around' lately....you've been through SO much and it takes a toll on a person....the lumping is well deserved! Darlin' do I hear you LOUD and CLEAR on the grey sky rain thing. In the last three weeks I've seen about 2 days of sunshine....the rest being overcast or raining. It doesn't help the mood does it? Speaking to my Cavedude the other day about it I said...."this is what purgatory must look like"
)))) Is the salmon you buy the Kirkland brand? I find pot roast a crap shoot.....I do the sear thing etc....only to have to come out dry at times. Here's some of the things I've done to use up the 'sawdust' roasts I've made:
- Shred the meat and toss with BBQ sauce = pulled beef.
- Chop meat add mayo and you have 'beef salad' for wraps or lettuce cups.
- Chop meat and google a leftover roast casserole recipe.
- Shred meat fine, add chopped onion, egg, veg and a little oil, form into patties and fry up a 'roast burger'.
Hope your walk with our handsome Kirby went well, glad to see you moving and shaking!! Hugs to you n' the Kirbster!
Vampriella - We're gonna have to conference again soon LOL... I need your take on the gnom gnom crust. Lemme know when you're free this week. I'm going over to check out the chicken crust now....if I make it's gonna be called the BUK-BUK-CLUCK pie!
))) Yoga....way to go darlin!!!
We're almost into November and I thought it might be fun to set up a pre-Xmas PERSONAL GOAL CHALLENGE. An anything and everything kinda' thang'. Fitness, weight loss, organizing closets, finding nirvana (not the band), painting a wall, whatever! Just set a goal and see how we do by Dec. 1. I'm determined to get my pantry in order…..Christmas shopping done and wrapped…..paleo baking planned, and hitting 255 lbs on the gym leg press.
What say y'all? Anyone care to join the Cave Chick Personal Goal Challenge? Clock starts ticking this Wednesday at midnight!
-
Thank you, everyone, for the cyber hugs. Rads are going well so far. 11 more to go. The sking is holding up for now, the only major side effect is fatigue. I still exercise every morning, but by 6 pm I am pooped.
Junie, happy to hear you are on the mend!
Vampeyes, I am really impressed with your cooking. You and Egads are my inspiration. Paleo, unfortunately, will not be the diet of the choice in my family, since my son has a severe nuts and seeds allergy, but I enjoy your posts all the same.
I’ve developed a nice 5 o’clock shadow that marks my eyebrows. It looks so funny, I can’t help but stare at it in the mirror like the idiot I am. Hair also started sprouting on my head and it looks funny there as well. It all grows up and reminds me of the onion shoots. My men have a field day with this. Every morning they rub my head for the good luck. One of these days I’ll shave both of them in their sleep.
-
Inna (godda davida) - Rads were exhausting for me too, but I was never sure if it was the daily slog over to the Center or the rad itself causing it. No matter, it is what you feel at the end of the day. I told my Rad Onc that 6 hours after the zaps I would feel slightly nauseous for a short time. He said “nope, not rads” until I told him it was clockwork every single time. He changed his tune and agreed it was probably the rads. It was nice to have a doc really listen (he was a stellar doc). Get your rest, what you’ve gone through mentally and physically is nothing short of mind blowing!
Eyebrows...LOL@ 5 o’clock shadow...you brought back memories!!! You’ll probably find the brows grow back the fastest (well except for the armpit and leg hair, figures). My son used to rub my head for luck too!! Little bugger!! He once pretended to rub a pot over my head and said “extra scrubbing power”....family, makes you laugh and violent all at the same time!!
)) oh, and if you do the ‘midnight shave’ on them, for goodness sakes, GET PICS!!!
))))
PS (another novel here) Darlin’ you’re pretty inspirational and impressive in the kitchen too...Inna’s Kickin’ Chicken is a family fav in my cave now!!!!
Vamp - Your salmon is up for din-din tonight!
-
Inna - I admire your strength to workout every morning. I am struggling to do little bits throughout the day and my treatment ended Feb 28th didn't include Chemo.
Egads - I was thinking of a chat today, too bad I didn't read the forum earlier! I didn't get the yoga in. I have stretched and did 40 sumo squats, soon I will be going for an hour long walk with the boys. It's better than nothing.
Finally finished the Harry Potter quilt top today! I have been working on this for months - whenever I was in the mood to sew.
-
Vamp - Your talents never cease to amaze me! The quilt is beautiful and beautifully crafted!! You must have the patience of a saint...I tried my hand at quilting once...it ended with 2 squares cut
)))))) Well done!! 40 sumo squats and an hour long walk better than nothing? I’d call that a workout darlin’! No wonder your calves hurt! Awesome!
Oh we gotta talk now, I’ve gone and got a few ideas into my head about the quilt
)))
KSuze - Back Home from Philly yet?
JKL- Hope you’re feeling better! I bet your sweet lil Granddaughter is all excited about Halloween....”whooooo will give me candy” what a doll
Kathindc, Pixi(dust), JunieBee - hope your Monday didn’t feel like Monday
Cowgal - You’re missed! Hope things are going well and your tummy is good!
Oh, and I’m still missing MAP & Shazzzza!
-
Hey, y'all. Back and at it. Stayed on diet except for a scone my host had made for me.
Love the Harry Potter quilt! I made one with castles and a car in a tree, as well as cats, spiders, wizards, etc. for my nephew some years back. Yours is more elegant!
