I did not see this thread but I fasted all through tch chemo 48 to 72 hours before 24 after with light meals for two days. LONGO authored a new book that is very interesting with good information . A company he is affiliated with has made a meal plan and packaged it into a kit mimick fasting. The kit is called Prolon and it has been used in clinical studies and can be purchased for aeound $250. There is a similiar kit with a different name they are using in chemotherapy studies.

The one thing I regret is I used the steroils along with fasting so my glucose was always high on th day of chemo. My MO was totally against fasting (2015) so I didn't dare stand up to him and find out if there was a non steroidal option.

I have no idea if fasting did anything but it would have been cool and easier mentally to use the fasting mimiking kit.

I have read books trying to make their own cookbook cheap recipes of the prolonged diet but they aren't tested so if it really mattered such as in chemo I would either water fast or do the Proton kit.

    Jennie93:

Sorry I forgot to have BCO notify me of new posts to this thread, and just saw your reply.

I had to cut the fasting down to just the dexamethasone days (including infusion day) due to having lost too much weight. My side effects from the chemo prevented me from getting the calories back, and maybe I had some cachexia as well. But more or less I continued on the fasting days as illustrated above and am now done with chemo. I have a month until surgery and would ideally continue with periodic fasting but I need to get my weight up for surgery.
