Feline, The great blue heron is the official bird of Seattle. We have a large nesting colony at Commodore Park. It's a small city park near the Ballard Locks on the ship canal. There's even an osprey nest that helps fend off hungry eagles. A group of volunteers observes them and keeps track of nests and population. Interesting place.
