Gardening, anyone?

Not exactly gardening, but I figure this is the best place for it. I just set up my hummingbird feeder. This is the first time I've ever remembered to set it out early. I'm really hoping to see some hummingbirds this year! I think I want to get a couple more to put in different parts of the yard.
-
Aren't hummingbirds fun to watch now?
Dutch irises blooming here, and a crocus or two.
-
Lovepugs, I know the hummingbirds come earlier than you may expect. I have a cherry tree that blooms in April, and I have seen the hummingbird there buzzing around it. My neighbors crocuses are blooming. Spring is coming!

Love that, Jazzy.
-
Jazzy ...Haha ...yep..I can relate to that ...🌞

Been missing y'all but dealing with LE and severe nerve pain. . .Cancer bites.
That said, Spring is here and early for the most part. This tree bloomed two weeks early in mi-Feb. and my Pink dogwoods are blooming now. I have purchased 5 small red/orange native azaleas, large White Encore Azaleas and Jade Green Hydrangeas to plant in the next week or so. Then the Master Gardner's sale on the first Sat. in May when I get lots more Hostas and whatever else I can get my hands on in the mad rush when they open. I live down the street from one of the heads of the group.
Snickersmom. . .have you tried adding lots of mulch and potting soil in when you plant? We too deal with the red clay abut have added so much mulch into our gardens that most things grow very well.

Scottie, sorry you have been dealing with issues. Hope they resolve for you. Thanks for sharing some spring. That must be the lake that the Beavers like to come up from and eat your roses? Maybe they won't like azaleas!
We are just starting to see things coming up, but other than my neighbor's crocuses, I have nothing blooming yet. Can't wait! I am already planning where to move stuff that was in shade and now is it full sun. Then once those are moved I have areas to plant for full sun. I hope my enthusiasm lasts once I start!

Daffodils are blooming! Spring is really here. Now if the temperatures at night can get a little warmer, things will really spring to life
-
My dogwoods are very happy this year. Too Hobbies, yes that is the lake with the beavers. We have the roses safely fenced off now.

Easter weekend is sunnier with Husband bringing home daffodils.

From Palm Springs
-
Jazzygirl— so pretty!! We are expecting snow tomorrow.
-
Happy Easter everyone. I saw this on facebook so I went and looked for the photo and story. A German couple had been decorating this tree for 50 years and had about 10,000 eggs.
-
Two hobbies- happy Easter to you as well. That tree is amazing!

More cool blooms from Palm Springs
-
Love all the beautiful flowers! On Saturday my DH made a border around my hosta at our large maple trees.
-
Very attractive!
-
Loving the spring pixs ladies. . . we are slowly working on replenishing our pine straw and I still have 4 new hydrangeas to plant. Hopefully dd and I will get them in the ground today.

The windstorm last night took down part of my fence and blew over my tree rose
Before
after storm
-
Oh no! The wind has been vicious this year! Will you be able to save part of the tree?
-
Wow! That must have been some windstorm. Hope there's a way to fix it.
-
GMA- sorry to hear about the wind damage. New Mexico is having some high winds this spring too, this past Sunday was really bad. Although the east coast has gotten hammered by storms, we here in the west seem to be suffering with heat, lack of moisture and wind. Hope thing can all get repaired and you find something new for the spot where you lost the tree.
-
There are a few shoots under the stump - there might be a chance - not sure. I don't know why, every time my DH is off on a business trip, things like this happen - I did my best to put up a wire fence around the downed section to keep Dog in the back yard. I called the church for some help to remove the downed section. They were gone yesterday, but hopefully someone can help me with it. Here is the fence:

Not gardening weather here yet, but I have been busy with my houseplants. Repotted and had to put an old yard stick to support my snake plant (or mother in law’s tongue). Spider plant I got at Christmastime had outgrown its pot, so I took care of that today. Still have one more plant to transplant into a new pot.
-
Got some potted plants going over here. But I have a squirrel that likes to eat my petunias. Caught him red handed this morning. No more of those for the back yard where he runs along the wall between houses.

My Blooming Cherry Tree. Just thought I would share it'
so beautiful!
-
Hubby thinks I’m a little strange. As I was watering my houseplants today, I was talking to them. Even gave them names. My Snake plant is Spike, the Spider plant is Webber and the Pothos, I call it Maneater!
-
Beautiful blooms on those fruit trees. Our finished here a month ago, except for the red buds that are now blooming. Lilacs are out too, my neighbors have some!
Mommy- I talk to my trees, shrubs, plants, and more. There is research to suggest they do better with a little TLC! Tell hubby you have friends who are plant whisperers too!
-
Vargadoll, Lovely tree, thanks for sharing.
Jazzy, I like the bright colored pots. I could live in the Southwest.
Mommy, A plant with a name knows it's loved.
