New meds

Hi Neogirl, I was on Arimidex as my first line treatment. When that failed, I was put on Faslodex ( monthly injections) and Ibrance ( pills, 21 days on, 7 days off cycle). (Tamoxifen will likely be my next step.) I have been on Faslodex and Ibrance for more than a year and a half and am doing well. I find it to be a very easy treatment. Ibrance does cause a drop in blood counts, most notably WBC and neutrophils. If they drop too low, a reduced dose is given. I only lasted on 125 mg for one month and have been on 100 mg since then. Many people suffer some degree of fatigue from Ibrance, but I have not.

There are other choices out there, too. Let us know what develops.

Agreed. Faslodex, with or without Ibrance. Not hard to take. Ibrance is a little harder. Fas will be a lot like Arimidex, except for the pain in the ass.

Do you have Bestbird's guide? You should request it. There's a pinned thread about it. She has all the treatments laid out as first, second, third line therapy. Really helpful when you're considering options.
