magiclight, lovely pics!!
-
Probably will be the last of my blooms this year. My autumn harvest seedum in bloom. The neon grape one out front did not bloom very will this year, but was smaller in general because of the intense heat this summer and it being in the rock garden that got fried.
-
Okay, one more! Not a bloom but one of my planters
-
KB, They'll be coming up for years. We're still digging potatoes and haven't planted any for at least 5 years. I love potatoes, but 4 beds would feed a starving orphanage.
-
Jazz...I love the light coming through the flowers giving it a real fall feeling.
KB...no vodka - shame
-
Jazz ..love your planter ..!
-
Kb..back to the vodka and potatoes comment. Today I was lingering in the spirits section of the grocery store and found vodka made from wheat, corn, potatoes, or grapes.
I sure did not know about grapes being used in unflavored vodka. It looks like this topic fits in gardening
-
Did someone say vodka? It fits for me any time friend......
-
Vodka and gardening go hand in hand!
Scottie
-
Wine and gardening go hand in hand too 😃
-
The only real Fall picture I have is this weeks sunrise on the trees.
-
GMA...love the layers of color in that photo
-
Planted these Hungarian Peppers in early summer and now they look so lovely and the peppers taste great to me while the leaves taste great to the little garden critters, as you can tell by the many holes in the leaves.
-
Daughter chose a lovely begonia plant that continues to bloom in the outdoor planter box.
Son thinks the begonia bloom looks like a sculpted peach.
-
Teka- beatiful photos!
Balloon fiesta is underway. I am not going down to the field quite yet, but may have friends passing through next weekend and may be down on the field. Here are some historical photos for you to get a sense of it. The one on in the mist is one of my all time favorites!
If you want to see live feeds on FB if you are on that site, look for KOBTV 4 or the Albuquerque Journal.
-
Teka, I too love those for the color and a little bit of a kick in my tuna salad . So good!
Your re-posted photos of the Au Sable river brought back childhood memories because my family traveled quite a bit in Michigan and that name sure rings a bell.
-
Kb...the plant label is Hot Hungarian Wax pepper. If you leave the seeds in when eating then they are much hotter.
-
I'm enjoying all the photos 😃
-
KB - sounds delicious. Enjoy.
-
magiclight,
The location of my childhood home and our home is near the East Branch of the AuSable River in the Adirondacks. We live near Lake Placid that hosted the 1932 and the 1980 Winter Olympics.
KB,
I would love a homemade raspberry pie.
)
-
Oh ..I want a raspberry pie too 😃
-
Lucy,
We need to pay KB a visit............then raid the raspberry patch. ;o))
-
We continue to have lovely fall weather in the North Country.
Our last bunch of grape tomatoes ripening in the house!
-
My DIL helped me gather our sweet potatoes. It took forever. I think I have about 100 pounds.
We still have tomatoes and bell peppers growing.
When I pulled the sweet potato and cucumber vines I found enough cucumbers to make another 1 and 1/2 quarts of pickles.
I felt so normal in the garden.

I'm so far behind on all the boards I follow. Hope everyone is having a nice fall. This our our resident hawk. He's shy and won't let me get too close.
Scottie
-
Coach Vicky,
I would love 5 large sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving! ;o))
Scottie,
Perfect hawk pic!
-
Scottie, Do you know what kind of hawk it is? It's similar to a red-shouldered hawk, but I don't know birds in your part of the country. You probably don't need to worry about mice with it around.
-
Good morning friends- things are still blooming here in New Mexico as the foliage changes. We don't get that much color change here, but do have the beauty of the fall cottonwoods as they change color. I was in the Jemez Mountains this weekend and got some shots of the foliage along with this beautiful cosmos bush at one of my favorite hot springs! The cosmos was three colors!
Some more color for you to enjoy before things quiet down here soon with the first frost that will be here before you know it. Late Oct to early Nov is my absolute favorite time of the year here!
-
Jazzy, such lovely pics!!!
-
Cosmos are my favourite flower! So lovely. Mine are not happy after a cold rain for days and chilly here. But they may perk back when we get a hint of sun. I am wondering if they would like to come inside?
Bringing in three clay pots today, basil, thyme and chives. Rest of pots and trays are ready to dump since we may be moving next spring.
