Okay salsa chicken in a crockpot. You take a package of thawed boneless, skinless chicken breasts, a cup of salsa and 1/2 pkg of low sodium(if you can find it) taco seasoning. Throw it in, turn it on low, cook for 5 hours. Not six or it will burn. It is great if you come home for lunch and turn it on. Or if you are at home at noon.
Serve it on tortillas and with a pinch of cheese! Some FF sour cream helps it too.
It is a WW recipe, I just love it. -
Cowgirl,
Thanks so much! It sounds great! -
Thanks Ginger. I wish my self-esteem was boosted, but since i wear sweats and tshirts it is hard to tell that i have lost weight. I think that I have a "fat image" in my mind and I always think of myself as fat.
peace,
celia -
Celia - be sure to put on a pair of jeans from time-to-time.
There is nothing like fitting into a pair of pants with a waistband to make you feel great (or to remind you that you need to stick with your plan). -
Celia,
I agree with Rose. Wear something that shows off the new you!! You deserve it! -
thanks Rose and Ginger. I have been waiting to lose more weight (probably 30 more lbs) to get new clothes, just as an economy measure. I do think i might have to get some intermediate clothes now tho since my sweatpants drawstrings with more knots tied in them to keep them from falling down, are still trying to fall down. It is frustrating that even tho i am smaller in size, i still have bulges in all the same places.
Time to go shopping soon!!!!
peace,

Wow that is incredible. Keep up the good work Cecila. You will do it. Me I did for awhile and then went to Las Vegas in October, found 16 oz steak dinners for $9.95 and did not start dieting until January 2, 2007. I regained everything I lost and now I want to lose again for a trip to Hawaii in April, and actually for good. Since the 2nd I did lose 6.5 pounds. I also go to Curves on my lunch hour it is working for me.
Judy -
Louann I wish you the best of luck restarting the gym. I know how difficult it is to restart. I changed gyms from 24 hour fitness to Curves. I really like the idea of "dancing" on the recovery boards inbetween the machines. Also, can't lie I love the idea of not caring what to wear and what I look like. Remember girl take it slow. We don't want you ending back in the hospital.
Judy -
Cecila you will have to get out of that mode pretty quickly or you will go right back to your old ways. Take it from me, I have experience in it.
Judy -
Rose I do that myself. I also kept a "special" pair of jeans that my goal is to get back into. My goal is to weigh 145 and I am now at 176. I started on Jan 2nd at 181.5 The nice thing about me is that I am long legged so no one ever guesses what I really weigh.
I really like this thread. It is a VERY encouraging one and we all Stick together.
Judy -
Celia even if you ONLY buy one or two things and switch off it will help you feel better. Do it for courage to keep on going if for nothing else.
Judy -
Dina That is a wonderful start. Keep up the good work. Yep we are all here to CHEER one another on! We know too there will be slips once in awhile.
Judy -
Celia what is an Ovo Lacto Vegetarian? Is it a special type?
Judy -
Luann you go Girl! Congratulations on the 80. Here is to 60 more!!!!! I want to lose 30. I am not on any meds. Happen to be a Triple Negative. My downfall though is chips (regular type) and Onion dip. Whenever there is a party there goes Judy at the dips. Chocolate only need a piece now and then. I also like Taco Bells Nacho Bell Grande mmmmmmm good.
Judy -
Judy--
An ovo (eggs)- lacto (milk) vegetarian eats these dairy products because the animal does not have to lose its life for these products. I am not a vegan because my diet is not totally plant-based.

Celia,
I occasionally go to the Salvation Army on half price day, no less. Maybe some intermediate clothes from a thrift store would help the finances. We also have deep sales now at most department stores. A couple pair of slacks and two or three tops could be had pretty cheaply.
I gave up wearing Tshirts quite a while ago and went to more feminine styles. I think that helps us look a little thinner too if we're carrying a few extra pounds. -
Judy,
My mom was like that with chips and dip. I don't know how old you are but do you remember the diet drink Tab. I think she lived on chips, onion dip and tab! LOL I am getting my bone mets pain under control, so as soon as the weather gets a little more consistent on the warm side I am going to start walking my dogs daily again. If I do that I think my last 60 will be gone before I know it! Then I will be forced to figure out why I am losing weight. Kind of don't want to worry about it til I get to a weight I am happy with!
LuAnn -
Luanne -
I am 55. Yes I do remember TAB. It tasted pretty good too. Don't know why it went away.
My hat goes off to you. Here you are losing weight and dealing with bone mets. You are a Rock Star! Don't EVER give up.
Judy -
Hello everyone,
Just an update on my weight loss. I had gained 30 lbs on Tamoxifen and joined WW on l0/5/06. So far I have lost l3 lbs. I also joined Curves two weeks ago and work out there four times a week in the hopes of dropping these extra l5 lbs....Good luck to the rest of you too.
Mary -
I think Tab might have had saccharine sweetener in it.
I've seen it around, it may have been resurrected as a high caffeine drink.
I am going to add a little more protein to my diet. I think I am too prone to munch of sweet stuff. -
Celia - in between sizes I bought from consignment stores or goodwill type stores. My WW leader collects close to give to women changing sizes - PM your size and I'll ask her if she has anything. You have to wear clothes that fit so your mind matches your body image or you will gain it again. Yesterday I tucked my shirt in my pants for the first time in years!!
-
Hi Made---
I actually like the feeling of having clothes loose and kind of falling off--makes me feel thinner. It has been a long time since my clothes have felt loose at all. I used to fill them out quite well. So it is kind of a novelty for me. Soon i will go shopping for new tighter clothes, i promise!!!

I hope you will like Curves as much as I do. I really like the dancing movements on the boards.
Judy -
I believe in tucking things in. It's not always happy, but it does keep you aware.
You can wear a top that's the same color as the pants so you don't look so stuffed into the pants. -
hello ladys,
well i might not be getting to the gym everyday but i am walking. the scale is not moveing---i've never seen anyone who can be as strick as me and not lose A lb in a week, but i look at myself and look thinner--but still in shock seeing me lol, new boob new tummy lol. today i went to ross its a clothing store- i had some time to kill before picking up kids from school, i thought i'ed try on a dress ---something i never do, hot dang a 14 fit --well i did'ent buy it as i have no where to wear it lol, but i got in the car and felt pretty good about myself, and thought this time last year i was a size 26, so after all is said and done i should relize its gonna come off alot slower now,and i think age has alot to do with it. but yesterday and today i feel like eatting nothing bad --just more than i normaly do--so whats up with that. love louann -
Louann and Ladies ~
You are amazing. The highest clothing size I have worn was a 14. I am in between a 12 and 14 now. I want to get to a size 8 (at least on the bottom.) I had a lumpectomy and a reduction so I am at a 36C instead of a 36DD like I used to be. I was quite top heavy and looked pretty matronly. I was and am told that I look so much better now.
I think I should do better now, the mint chocolate covered graham crackers at work are now gone. They were driving me crazy. I love MINT! Honestly when it comes to chocolate I am satisfied ONLY eating 1 or 2 Hershey kisses. Yes, Honestly! I can't wait for Spring to come or at least warmer weather. I will buy Starbucks Viente Light Mint Mocha Frappacino without the whip cream. It is ONLY 250 calories. I either have it for breakfast or lunch at least 3 times a week. They are so good and Big Too. They are 24 oz. Now because it is so cold (Northern California) I have Nestles Fat Free Hot Chocolate with Marshmellows (35 calories per packet) with either a 12 oz mixed melon cup (100 calories), breakfast bar with milk in it (160-180 calories depending on which one), English Muffin with No Calorie spray butter (140 Calories)or Rice Cake (35 Calories) with melted lean honey ham (60 calories) a sprinkle of shredded parmesan cheese (25 calories.) As you probably noticed I am a Calorie counter when it comes to diets.
I live on www.caloriecount.com on a periodic basis. It works very well for me WHEN I DO IT! I am determined to do this for Hawaii for this Spring so wish me luck!
Keep up the good work Luanne and all of you ladies.
Judy -
Don't forget - weight loss is a function of calories, but fat content (your burning mix) does seem to make a difference.
I don't see how that frappacino can only be 250 calories? Is it a small?
I like that caloriecounter site as well. -
KariLynn,
I have just graduated to the Deluxe "Walk away the Pounds" DVD by Leslie Sansone.
The first DVD that cost $11 is the "walk, walk, powerwalk" tape that could be annoying, but it sure beats the treadmill. What I do hate is the lady student on the cheaper DVD who is all bouncy and is shaking all over while working out-SHE annoys me!
Anywho,
I did the Deluxe DVD today-the one that costs $21 and like it much better. I am very encouraged because it isn't hard at all, but definitely is a good work out.
My Plantar Faciitis is still not completely better, so I am taking it slow by only doing 2 miles a day to start.
And I found that my foot feels better in my Birkenstocks rather than my New Balance atletic shoes during the exercises. -
Maybe I'll give that one a try. I was running around the house bare foot yesterday and marvelling at how it didn't hurt! I still wear the inserts pretty much constantly - only when I wear dress shoes do they not fit and I almost never dress up...
-
hi all,oh i hated that plantar faciitis i had that a good year,i couldent take it anymore so i had cortozone injections in the heal of my foot,,then it came in the other foot-again with the shot-does the trick.
well good news and bad news today----the good first ,walked 60min,and my dh took me clothes shopping (old navy size 14)well happy happy me,the bad news when we got home the mail boxs was full of hospital bills and such from the diep in nov,so far out of pocket is close to twelve thousand.
i think i'am gonna cancel my ps appt this month--he want to talk about stage two. geez what a bummer money and ins co hold us back from trying to move on from that damm!@##$#@ cancer. love louann
