Oh MamaRay! That is not a happy character to identify with. (((hugs))) I do know what you mean about getting caught up in the "wrong" part of a movie. When I'm feeling down I watch Disney movies; either the old classic cartoons or the newer ones I haven't seen yet. Aladdin is a nice one. I plan on re-watching AbFab - totally the opposite of wholesome Disney, but wickedly funny! I avoid anything with a hint of seriousness 🙃

Oooh! Hot pants! Early or mid 70's? You do have some wildness in you Lookie 🙂 What year did you graduate High School?

These are the other guys from the Mystery Date game.... You were supposed to try for one of them to win. Getting the greaser was supposed to make you lose. But the other guys looked sooo lame! That's why we changed the rules!

MammaRay ~ "Other" people, family/friends, just don't get what we feel. That's what is so great about being able to hang out "here". I've been in retreat mode for a while. My threshold of annoyance is dangerously low so I don't have much patience.....and I am a wee bit "unfiltered". Well....maybe I should say more unfiltered than usual, ha! So I've been laying low, avoiding those who may annoy me by saying or doing something stupid. "Here" is my safety zone, though I've retreated a few times when a poster becomes overly negative or hateful. I hate when that happens, it's upsetting to everyone. I will speak up next time it happens though. 😈

    Silliness is so much better!

I graduated early 70's. I am really bad with dates, my husband has to remind me of all of them. I married very young and I am still married to the same person. We are celebrating our 44 anniversary next week. I even remember the date. But boy do I feel old. Mentally I am still 44 just with a fatter stomach .

WTH Shep! I have to admit I was slow at first. I thought maybe the ramp was not properly installed. Then, I saw the second picture and realized what was wrong. Ay yay yay!!

Forward, you wild thing! I would be afraid to show my cheeks.

    Okay, I remember these:

Loverly ~ Isn't he horrible? When Hurricane Matthew came, I had a big fight with FF because he wanted to bring his 4 wheeler into the dining room! He wanted to work on it during the storm so he wouldn't get bored! I won that fight. Gah. He did finally pick up the tools and I was able to move the scooter. A few days later another pile of tools re-appeared.....and is still there 😑

Spirograph was so much fun! Ooooh and the Atari....that was the coolest! My neighbors had an old Atari with a bunch of games. They let kids play with it (ten years ago or so) and they loved it! So funny that they would be so awed after being used to Nintendo. Paper dolls were HARD if you had to do the cutouts yourself.....

Lookie ~ 44 years? Wow! Congratulations! FF and I are both bad at remembering dates. We got married on the day before Thanksgiving so it would be easy to remember our anniversary. But....Thanksgiving isn't on the same date every year! Neither of us members the date, but we do remember the month! Being (ahem) old is so odd. I don't "feel" any different than when I was teenager. Flatter stomach? Yes please!

    Hello everyone,

Loverly - I am confused because the "Honest Kitchen" food is dehydrated and has to be reconstituted with water before feeding. So I do not understand why Mitzy would be so thirsty. Did you call the Company and ask? Maybe they can explain what is the cause of this, or refund your money at the very least. Their customer service phone number is: 866-437-9729 and their email address is

    questions@thehonestkitchen.com

Also, I laughed at the pic of the dog smiling and saying "whatcha ya doing?"

Lookie - Congrats on your 44th Anniversary. Are you guys going to do anything special to celebrate?

As I am typing here I look to my left and see the Kirbs chewing on my tennis shoe laces. Goofy dog. He is all spun up because he didn't get a good proper walk today and has energy to burn.

Last night while I was on the computer I put Kirby on my bed and he cuddled up next to my pillow and fell asleep. Then when I woke him to take him out before going to bed he was all cute and cuddly. After taking him outside, he ran right back into my bedroom thinking he was going to get to go back to my bed. He was rather put out when I placed him in his crate. Once he is fully potty trained, then he'll get to sleep with me, but that won't be for a bit yet. Poor little guy.

It has bee raining a lot here today, and it was 35 degrees at 5:30 this evening, but now at 12:30 a.m. it's in the 50's. All the snow melted in the last 7 hours and I am so thankful.

Sensi - Beautiful picture of Chance & Lexi. They look like real cuddle bugs.

Poppy - Your Gus is a handsome little boy too.

MammaRay - Sorry your feeling down. (((HUGS)))

Jazzy - I am glad to hear you had a great time at the yoga retreat.

Smaarty - Pretty view to enjoy while you ladies were sewing.

Shep - I can't imagine how you've put up with the horrible way your FFH conducts himself and treats you. What did you say to him when he yelled at you for not using the ramp when all his tools were piled in the way? When I hear stories like yours and others it just reconfirms my choice not to get married.

Cute pic of you and the rest of your gangsta's!

Sorry Marti can't join you upstairs. It has got to be hard for your girlie to feel left out. Too bad you don't have an elevator for her. Like one of those dumbwaiters they used to have.

I remember the Betsy McCall paper dolls. I used to look forward to getting the new issue each month. I think that was in the 1960's?

I had my appt. with the MO today and my ANC is heading downward again. 1.18 this time after only 11 days into this round. She wanted to change my Ibrance dose to one every other day, but I pled with her to just lets see how my count is next Tuesday when I go for treatment. I think I'd rather go two weeks on and two weeks off if necessary. I am nearly 28 mons. out and still stable. Don't want to mess with that.

Also, my MO informed me today that I have a wedge compression fracture in my T12 vertebra and that it has been there since 2015 and shows up in all my scans. I said, that is the first I'm hearing about this. I guess that would explain why my back hurts, huh? Well that and the T11. Hmm, we need to really work harder on the communication thing I think.

Well that's all for now, so I'll wish you all a good nights rest and hopefully some sunshine for Wacky Wednesday. Nite nite!

Lover I had those and loved them. Would still love them if I only I could sit around and play all day while someone else did all the work

MammaRay there definitely is a thing that if you are in love and your crush doesn't know you exist (or similar) then every sad song on the radio is about you. The rest of the time (like 99.99% of the time) they are just stupid, money-making sad ballads.

Sensi ~ Meant to tell you..... Peridin-C works to help ease the Tamoxifen hot flashes. Best prices are on Amazon or eBay. I've been using it for a couple years now.

WildT ~ I like the way you think girl! You almost got me in trouble - I read your post while we were watching TV and I started laughing! Hmm..such matters would be best dealt with outside. Don't want to have a mess to clean up 😛

Eeyore ~ You are so sweet! And so wickedly funny! Yes, once upon a time there was some gold there - maybe I'll find it again image The kitty hat is lovely, but it is not my pic. My kitty is fluffy enough to be a good head warmer but she bites!

Jazzy ~ mmmmmm....foot massages. How heavenly! Hope your headache went away and that your temporary crown is setting comfortably.

Poppy ~ Gus is adorable! His markings are perfect. Love his pretty eyes and cute pink nosey! Is that a kumquat tree he's standing under? I have one in my backyard - Marti steals the orange "balls" off of it and plays with them.

Wren ~ What a clever idea to have a special code for the ladies to get help at the clubs! Some guys can really pushy if they think a girl doesn't have back-up.

JunieB! ~ There you are! Kirby is all boy, isn't he? All cuddly and full of mischief......what a little lovey! Glad you are getting a break from the rain and the cold. 50's are a lot more deal-able than 30's! Will Kirby miss the snow?

I'm actually kinda relieved Marti can't go up the stairs anymore. She never was very good at them. Plus she is horrible about letting me sleep! She'll rest her head on the bed and pant loudly. If she can reach, she'll nudge me with her nose so I'll pat her. And give sloppy kisses on my face....ewwww!

FFH didn't yell about the lack of ramp usage....he was disgruntled, as is his way. He works long hours so it makes life with him more tolerable. I've said it before; when this one goes, I'm not getting another one 🙄

I'm sorry about your ANC. Geez....hard decision to make. I worry about changing treatments too. Stable is good and you don't want to jinx it. (((hugs))) Why did not anyone tell you about your T12? I can't imagine how you felt.... Any talk of doing a kyphoplasty to shore things up? That would make a big difference in your pain to have the pressure relieved. I hope you can see a specialist. More (((hugs))).

So, I was 2 pages behind! Hah! Seems I was sleeping whilst you other rabble-rousers were having fun on here! That is so FUN reading what you gals are doing in the middle of the night!

And who was it that asked how I got my name Chevy? I am Chevy because we had a 57' Chevy, and we loved that thing. No seat belts, no nothin'. Just used to pack the girls in the back seat, and go to the drive in movies, with a "picnic" and lots of blankets to wrap up in. THEN he put a MF'ing stick shift in that thing, and he would race that thing everywhere! Fish-tailing down the highway, just to hear us yell! Surprised we all survived.

He changed the engine I don't know how many times, blocked the heat-risers, to make it louder than a Harley, even had a (what are those things called that fit on top of the hood?) Well, NHRA has them on THEIR cars!

Then when he sort of grew up, and got older, he just didn't work on it anymore... no more chroming, or new upholstered seats... Finally he sold it to his Nephew..... Still miss that car... but not riding in it!

Mostly, we had our first dog, named "Chevy"... Had that boy for 14 years... You know, as YOU gals know, losing a pet, is the most heart-breaking thing in the world....I think.

But then our girls had enough of our running around, and staying all night at the Casino, and they thought we needed another dog. Came over one night with little "Lacee" in one of their pockets ! I almost melted! She was our sweetheart.... For 11 years we had "our girl".... Then Kidney disease finally got the best of her.... and now, I just don't want for either one of us to go through that heart-ache again.... Just can't do it...... So I just love everybody else's dogs and cats..... Lacee, little "fur-face" is in my Avatar.... She was a tiny little Sheltie...probably mixed with Pomeranian somewhere along the line.

I had her "groomed" just once..... And I hid behind a store display, watching how they did it, and feeling sorry for her, because she had to just STAND there! So then I promised her I wouldn't take here there again, and I started grooming her myself..... Plopped her on the picnic table and talked to her, while I was brushing her, and trimming her fur/hair with scissors. She was most gorgeous..... She got her bath's in a kiddie pool I set on that table, and when the water was warm enough, she got her shampoo!

We walked her everyday.... and she LOVED the snow! But she slowed down, finally.... I would pick her up and carry her the rest of the way home, when she didn't want to walk anymore... so....it still hurts too much to think of her.... and I don't want to do it again.

Juniewhat are your drs going to do with your spine? DH has 2 crushed thoracic vertebrae. Unknown cause. Has had MRI, petCT, didn't light up. Thought for sure it was mets. No. Neuro won't do kyphoplasty. Has brace he won't wear. I'm thinking lidocaine shots, he wants to be a martyr and won't call PCP.

Be real interested to hear your plan.

Junie- wow that you have fracture there for two years with no mention of it? WTH? Kirby sounds cute and snuggly. You are a smart one to wait awhile to let him sleep with you all the time. First things first?

Who mentioned hot pants? I know I am dating myself, but remember in 1971 getting a pair of gold crushed velvet hot pants. I also had these fab lace up boots I wore with them, like that picture shows. Boy did I think I was something! No more short shorts for me ladies.....

I used to love my Spirograph!!! Not so much paper dolls because the little tabs for the clothes would always wear out and tear off.

Had a MISERABLE night! No sleep at all (not even an hour) because Mr. Diarrhea decided to pay me a visit at 1:45 am. I was up and down literally every hour on the hour. Trying to figure out what that was all about. I'm tracing it back to some weird pizza. DH bought some frozen DiGiorno (the chicken one), and I thought it had a funny after taste to it. Of course, DH and DD are just fine, but when you're on chemo, your intestinal tract is compromised and any little thing can set it in an uproar.

I have to spend most of the day in the car, sooooooo I'm employing my usual strategy: Gulping down a few swigs of Imodium, putting on a pair of Depends, and hoping for the best.

    Wish me luck ;o).

Lita, oh no not the big D again! I used to like DiGiorno pizza. Not anymore. The forbidden stuffs they put in there. Thank God for flushing toilets, running water, and venting fan. Oh and adult diapers too. Hope you feel better soon.

JunieB, I sent Honest Kitchen an email. Will let you know what they say. I am dissappointed because it seems like a good quality food. Hoping it is just a bad batch.

Sorry to hear about the blood count AND your back. Bummer. It would be nice if it was an easy chess move.

Peppy, Gus is adorable and huggable! And I am not even a cat person. Handsome boy! Either he is tiny or those are huge kumquats! Mandarin maybe?

Sensi, you were up quite late last night. Hope you didn't have to pay for it at work today.

Feline, I was thinking about the same thing. I could sit and play and someone else can take over my responsibilities. Hah!

Shep, I still remember the first day Mom and Dad got us the Atari. We had so much fun on it. Lots of laughter. Not very long after our parents sent us to bed, we heard mom laughing uncontrollably and dad giggling. Yup! They both were trying to figure out how to play with the Atari. Such a sweet sound to children's ears when the parents are happy.

I can't imaging being married to FFH. I would be on the highest dose of Valium. Bless you, my friend. To be honest, I had the same thought as WildT regarding FFH. Scary. Didn't want to say it.

Forward, thank you for helping me to bring back the good memories of growing up.

MammaR, hugs to you sweet girl. Hang in there.

imageIs everyone behaving tonight? I see some cute doggie pics. It's Wacky Wed isn't it? Or as I like to say, my Thursday. One more day of work. I love my job, but I love my weekends. We're having a lot of rain and winds (40mph). In fact, just saw one of my fences have blown down. Not much I can do about it tonight. Went and let the neighbor know, since it's a good neighbor fence, and we will have to figure out what to do this weekend.

Jazzy-how's the mouth after your dental visit. I always hate going to the dentist, but recently found one I really like. Hope you are feeling well.

Mamma-hope you are having a better day. We are all here for you

Shep-I'll have to check into the Peridin C. Hot flashes have been fairly mild, I've been more worried about the knee joint pain. Have my first follow up with MO since starting med Feb 1st. Will have to get her input.

Lover-yes I was up late last night. But I enjoy everyone's company here. So it was worth being a little tired this am. I have The Shawshank movie, if you ever want to borrow it. Or we could have a movie/lunch day ;).

waving to everyone else. nighty night and good morning feline ;)

Loverly ~ You and WildT must have watched too many episodes of Dexter! Me? I watch Forensic Files....and take notes! 😜

Too Cute, your folks giggling and playing Atari! When we were little it was such an amazing thing to realize that the grown-ups still liked to play. Yes, truly the sweetest sound for young ears 💑

I had to really look hard to figure out what was wrong with that picture of the handicapped accessible door......that was awful!

Sensi ~ That was fun staying up late last night! It's not often we are all here at the same time. We had our own PJ party!

I hope your knee pain is not anything bad. Joint pain is about the only SE I didn't have from Tamoxifen. Everybody is different. Glad your hot flashes aren't too bad. They can be so ucky.

Good luck with your fence. Will it be an easy fix?

JunieB ~ I keep thinking about your compression fracture. This short video very nicely explains the kyphoplasty procedure: https://youtu.be/_lUhQLFHriw It's done as a day surgery and is an easy recovery.

Spookie ~ Why doesn't the doctor want to do a kyphoplasty on your DH? Lidocaine shots would be awesome but they only last a few hours. I'd use 'em in my hips if I could.

Jazzy ~ You are so cool! Of course you had hot pants! And big tall platform sandals to show off your fancy toes too I bet 🙂

Chevy ~ If we all had stayed up later last night you could have had your coffee with us! Your Lacee was a beautiful girl. She must have loved all the special attention you gave her. Did you put hair bows in her fur after grooming her? Marti's fur is too short for ribbons ☹

Lookie ~ Thanks for the memories! We had the funnest toys didn't we?

MammaRay ~ Hope you found your happy place today 💟

    "Hey!" to all the Owlies.......

Those childhood memories - I loved paper dolls and Mystery Date. Great memories. Anyone have a Vacuform?

The picture of Gus - it is a dwarf mandarin tree, good job Loverly. Not a kumquat Shep, that is a dirty sounding fruit . Does it taste better than it sounds?

Chevy - Aha you had so many good times in a Chevy. My guys love their Chevys too, one of mine has a tattoo of the "bowtie". Goofball. Is this what you had sticking out of the hood ? Supercharger?

    image

Looking - Married young and a 44 year anniversary, thats really wonderful congratulations.

Shep - The picture with the tools ... does he say but I cant put it away I'm still working on it! I hear that one a lot. Gus does have pretty markings and he is so sweet not a mean bone in his body. Unlike our other demon cat.

Sensi - No kidding on the wind!! Knocked the power out for several hours here. Hope your fence isnt too bad. We havnt been out to check things yet. Power back on now, trying to warm the house up and get to sleep.

It is 3:50 am. I am surprised to see WildT is up before Ms. Chevy . Can't go back to sleep. Lighting and thunder and heavy rain outside. Have not looked outside to see if our fence is still standing. I heard there were down power lines and trees not too far through a community web site. Need to be up in about 2 hrs for work. Went downstairs to check on Mitzy. Glad the thunder doesn't bother her.

I guess because of the location. It's the ones closest to his heart. The neuro said he wouldn't do it, pain doc says nothing she can do. I don't believe that and would be at PCP raising $&ll. Like I said, he'd rather be a martyr to the pain. I have to listen to him moan.

Working a lot this week..dozed off, sitting up, on couch last night. Then when I went to bed tossed and turned for hours. Need more sleep!

    Have a good day everyone.

Sensitive- doing okay on the dental front. She had to drill off the crown which is what gave me the headache and I took it easy with soft food the day off, but things were back to normal yesterday. Just being careful with food and eating on the other side.

Shep- oh yes, platform shoes too but those came a bit later. I was always a giant in those as I am a taller person and 4 inches on top of that made me tower over everybody.

Today I am heading to the gym, lunch with a friend and the movies! Going to see Hidden Figures.
